I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

RRVN - Take Four

Happy blog anniversary!

Remember, Remember the 5th of November.

4 years, 120,000 views later and I'm still here.

Can you believe I’ve had this thing for 4 years?

Granted lately I haven’t been as good keeping up with it as I was before. Honestly I don't know how I did it every day for that long.

But that’s probably good for you cause you don’t have to put up with my random ramblings 7 days a week. Now it’s just like twice a month. There you go, I did it for you.

Though I've slowed down a bit I still post about the important things.

In true blog anniversary fashion here are a few of my favorite posts from the past year.

1. Family Christmas: "It's alphabetical." "What from W to boobs?" "Are you sure you want to purchase Boobalicious for $10.95?"

IF YOU'RE GOING TO READ JUST ONE GO WITH THIS ONE
2. 1000th Post: Post #1000 My Top Library Moments of All Time "You looked all serious." "I am serious, I gotta get rid of this 7Up!"

3. People's Choice Awards: Nope, it's there forever. Like Maggie Smith and her tramp stamp. "Some of me are definitely dudes."

4. Golden Globes: "It's the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age." "Explosion at the wig factory" = alternate title for American Hustle

5. Life Mottos: Walk west 'til your hat floats Because everyone should have someone to scream at in a giant elephant.

6. Grammy Awards: Then I got sober and two robots called me and asked me to make an album. Could anyone understand the words coming out of Beyonce or Jay Z's mouths? It was like Ozzie up there. And then Ozzie was up there...and needed subtitles.

7. Sketch Meets the Parents: It's cold out and I'm not wearing pants, where are you? “What do you think of this dress?” “Stick some candles in it and make a wish?”

8. Trivia Night: I hope I go home with the right dwarfs Heigh ho.

9. Valentine's and Birthday: puck...puck...puck...i should probably move...yep, good plan. The lady in front of me ducked to save her beer. Priorities.

10. Vegas: Vegas Take Two "Take all the dam pictures you want."

11. Hockey/Attachments: "What do you call people who mouth the words when they read?" "Nerds?" We want milk!

12. Library Inservice: My librarian's spicy under-layer. "Think about how much time you spend managing your boobs."

13. Zombie Apocalypse: "The deaf guy's right, you are a nice lady." Yes, these are the thoughts that we have at work.

14. Zombie Apocalypse Part Two/LifeSize Game Day: Keep Calm and Flame On She watches a lot of Survivor and she's good at assembling Ikea furniture.

15. Motorcarring Take Two: We ain't got no room for boring. I'm wondering if they're actually decorative or if it's more like a giant rock monster died in their front lawn and they were too lazy to move them.

16. Librarian Problems: Do I wanna know why there's a bra in the lost and found? Merry unMother's Day.

17. Cher Concert: I hope you took your heart pills cause I'm coming out. I’ve been drinking this forever…Eisenhower was president.

18. Homey G Wigger/Sketch and Edit's Excellent Adventure: Hyvenese = Chinese for Hyvee Plus I had to save Bertha. Don’t ask.

19. Motorcarring Take Three/Paul McCartney Concert: Some people bring spare parts, Popper Boy brings spare cars. It had a picture of a ring with the subtitle: Your Girlfriend Wants Me.

IF YOU'RE GONNA READ TWO GO WITH THIS ONE
20. Camp J Highlights 2014: Hard to be a boy in a cabin named Sioux. Sounds like a car driving through a halftime show.

21. Camp J 2014 Skits: Eat a donut, write a ticket, hands in the air Soap Opera: …Me? You want to marry me? Oh Biff, I, I.... Game Show: ...am so sorry, that's the wrong answer.

22. Bats at the library: Balls to you sir, balls to you sir, up and down the court. Blow me east, blow me west, I like lots of wind.

23. Learn the symptoms of a stroke/Karmin concert: I would shoulder a twelve-year-old for you. That's love.

24. Fun times at the zoo/Staff Association/Hockey Signings and Tour: "Do you work here?" "No." "Oh, well there's a reindeer stuck in the tree." In the meantime I'm on the cheeseball committee.

25. Disney Overload: No one saying do this, no one saying be there, no one saying stop that, no one saying see here. "it starts with an S and the rest is fluff."

26. Sports Harder: "A field goal's like kissing your sister." They looked like something your grandmother would have bought you (like a bird sweater) and then he actually wore them.

27. Mentor: And I'm dying inside and nobody knows it but me. Living in a dream world is great, but sometimes you have to face reality and write letters to the important people in your life before it's too late.

28. Women's Murder Club: That's not coffee that's diabetes on ice. "That's how I ended up with a Rotato."

No idea what happened in 2012.

Continuing on, here are a few of my favorite things lately:

What's green and sings?

Elvis Parsley. That was a Library Judge addition.

Hey Ya - Troy Ritchie

Flashback to high school. I love his quirky style, especially at 0:42. Need to learn that move. It's stylin'.

Twelve Days of Christmas - Bob and Doug McKelvie

Don't look at me like that, it's November, I'm allowed to listen to Christmas music. Aren't you so proud I waited 'til after October to start?

Guess I'll have to add that one to my list to post for 12 Days of Christmas Music coming up in December. A whole 12 days of posting in a row. Perhaps I should go back to posting every day to prepare. I've got plenty of stuff to talk about.

Here's what you've missed since my last post in no order whatsoever.

Today at work was so bizarre. I climbed through a hole in the wall, turned a display into a giant turkey, and stuck mustaches on books. Let me explain.

The hole in the wall was to the garage which I knew we had but didn't know where it was or how to get to it. Turns out it got walled off cause we don't use it but there's still a hole you can go through to get to it. This was where the supervisor watched safely from the sideline as I got covered in spiderwebs and tripped over broken glass. We've been doing a lot of rearranging lately and we're looking for random odds and ends or more places to stash extra odds and ends.

The turkey thing is going in youth services. We have this giant triangle building block display and Superwoman wants us to turn it into a giant turkey so I recruited two of my TAB kids to help. It's a work in progress, but the head is done!

As for the mustaches it is Movember - a month dedicated to men's health - so I took all the YA books with faces on them and stuck mustaches of different colors and sizes on them, then put them all on display. It's got a lot of attention because it's located right between the stairs and the computer lab. I'm proud.

I know I'm highly entertaining.

What else?

October was filled with ups and downs, specifically one weekend in particular. On Friday we celebrated a wedding, on Monday we mourned at a funeral. Unfortunately it was for the same family as the wedding.

The wedding was fun. The boyfriend went with me - he used to be housemates with the groom. I know the groom from school, camp, and apparently we're related somewhere down the line. And he actually met his bride at camp so I knew her too! She is our nurse. They donated a dollar to camp for everyone at the wedding which I thought was amusing. The reception was lego themed and awesome. Each of the tables had a bowl full of legos for us to build stuff. The boyfriend built a spaceship, I built a house. I even got him to dance with me so it was great.

The funeral was not so amusing. Actually it was rather stressful, even before it started. The night before Mom had this idea of releasing balloons at the cemetery so she texted the new bride to see if it would be okay. The next morning she responded saying that the family loved the idea. Immediately after Mom woke me up - you know how much of an early morning person I am - I got dressed and we went to the pharmacy for balloons. We asked for 40 and they were like "only 40?" until we told them we needed them in like 10 minutes. It took 4 of them to get it done. Meanwhile mom and I went across the street to get breakfast. After the balloons were ready she took most of them in her car and I took the rest. We lost about 4 or 5 on the way over. Scared the crap out of me every time one popped cause they were right next to my head.

Note to self, next time whilst transporting balloons turn the heat/air conditioner vents in a different direction otherwise your balloons will pop. Figured that out halfway there.

Once we were there everything was fine. Well, as fine as it could be. The church was packed, as was the basement, so I was proud. He request was that we sing Someday - which has become a camp tradition since 2008. Since I'm the one who usually leads it at camp I led it there. Plus as she was my mentor I felt it was important for me to do something. It wasn't our best, granted everyone was looking at their feet. It became almost an unspoken rule not to look each other in the eye because we knew we'd lose it. As I had lost it twice during the service - we sang at the end - I only looked up when I had to cue people in and out. After the service we went to the cemetery. The Pastor said a few words and then we released our balloons. It was interesting because there was a treeline and I was scared they would hit the trees but almost a second before they shot straight up and over the trees like they were helped or something. I was glad I could help out as she meant a lot to me. Camp won't be the same without her.

Okay, as thinking about that gets me into over-analyzing my life mode let's move on to something more joyful.

Let's go with TAB, that's always fun. This month for our activity the teens recorded a podcast about their favorite books and their favorite TAB memories. I was quite proud they were able to expand more than just "it was cool" or "i liked the cover." They went into writing style, plot twists, and all that, plus they were very passionate while talking about TAB so that was good. Then of course Info-Man made me talk about how to join and our upcoming events. For your info our upcoming events include a books to movie marathon and a Mockingjay party. Similar to our Catching Fire party last year we're going to see it in theaters and then coming back for games and snacks. I have a crapton of trivia so we're going to divide them into teams through a "reaping" of sorts and then they have the opportunity for extra points if they get the question right by hitting a target with a nerf bow and arrow set.

Very exciting, I know you're all jealous.

What else? Halloween was last week. Myself and a bunch of my coworkers dressed up for work. I was a hockey player. Queen of the Known Universe was a Royals baseball player. The New Guy was a fireman - suspenders and hat included. Info-Man was a Ghostbusting vampire in that he wore a Ghostbusters t-shirt and vampire teeth. We took a picture - it's up on Facebook. As for after work, the boyfriend was off in Iowa riding motorcars with his dad so I went to my sister's. We drank wine and watched Rocky Horror and Young Frankenstein. Squirt was throwing a Halloween/birthday party so there were lots of teens around. I thought it was cool because instead of just watching movies they did a scavenger hunt. They went around taking pictures of themselves with certain things like spiders, pumpkin seeds, gravestones and all that and they got points for each thing. The last thing on the list was to turn themselves into a Mummy so she had tons of toilet paper at the house. Bubby was my favorite. Their toilet paper kept ripping so it took them a couple of tries. His partner was his girlfriend. I know, I feel so old. But I'm the cool aunt so I didn't tell any embarrassing stories. She seems nice.

Soon after Halloween was election day. Most of my people won. Except for governor. I don't like Pete Ricketts or his commercials so that's kind of a bummer. I listened to Mitt Romney Style while voting again. It's becoming a tradition.

On to Scale of Awesome's

Gone Girl

This movie was messed up. In the end they deserved each other, seriously, but we literally just sat in the theater and went what? Like what? It's a super long movie so you're waiting and waiting and waiting for stuff to happen and then it finally does and then it's suddenly done with a huge cliffhanger. I picked up the book at work and read the last couple pages and it's the same thing! Ugh. Scale of Awesome says 5/10.

**Spoiler alert** I thought for sure one of them would kill the other at the end. I was rooting for him to kill her, she's a sociopath, oh my god.

Fury

The boyfriend loves WW2 movies, but since he's a history buff he debunks them as we watch them. This one was apparently fine up until the ending, but I didn't care cause I thought it was great. I know everyone keeps saying all this crap about Shia being nuts, but he stole every scene. He was so good. Total method actor, though I guess he is a bit crazy since he pulled out his own tooth for the role. Whatever, Scale of Awesome says 9/10, I'll definitely watch it again.

Taking Chance

I'm not quite sure how I missed this one until now since it's recent and has Kevin Bacon in it. It must not have gotten a lot of advertising. I thought it was great, very emotional and cool to know what is all involved in the process and how respectful they are. Scale of Awesome says 7/10.

Last but not least here's my Voice Top 20. Well, what's left of it.

Damien - Adam - won battle – won knockout
James David Carter - Blake - won battle – won knockout

Kelli Douglas - Adam - eliminated in battles
Anita Antoinette - Gwen - won battle – won knockout
Luke Wade - Pharrell - won battle – won knockout

Toia Jones - Pharrell - stolen by Adam – lost in knockouts
Maiya Sykes - Phar
rell - eliminated in battles
Joe Kirk - Adam - eliminated in battles

Jessie Pitts - Gwen - stolen by Blake – won knockout
Taylor Phelan - Pharrell - won battle – stolen by Adam

Chris Jamison - Adam - won battle – won knockout
Mia Pfirrman - Adam - won battle – won knockout

Fernanda Bosch - Blake - eliminated in battles
Beth Spangler - Adam - stolen by Gwen – eliminated in knockouts
Matt McAndrew - Adam - won battle – won knockout

Taylor John Williams - Gwen - won battle – won knockout

Katriz Trinidad - Pharrell - won battle – eliminated in knockouts
Jean Kelley - Gwen - stolen by Pharrell – won knockout

Troy Ritchie - Gwen - won battle – lost in knockouts
Taylor Brashears - Blake - won battle – won knockout

My number 1 took out numbers 2 and 6, but the rest of my top few have been dominant. Adam has the strongest team going into the live shows by far since they're all 3 or 4 chair turns. Pharrell has Luke, enough said. James has dominated for Blake and I'm liking Taylor's chances as well. Number 21 on my list would have been Craig Wayne Boyd. He got stolen by Gwen then stolen back by Blake which was cool. I'm rooting for him as well. As usual the female coach has the weakest team. I don't know what it is but every year Christina, Shakira and now Gwen just get hosed by the male coaches.

And that's all I got. Here's to another year. Catch you on the B Side.

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof.

I know, I know, I've been off the radar for a few days.

Long story short I realized working at a public library and having a public blog kind of kills my whole privacy thing.

So, it's not that I don't love you, it's just that I've decided to slow down in postings and wait until I actually have things to post about instead of just overloading you every night with mindless ramblings.

Not that they're not entertaining, but it's about time.

This was the first year in years that one of my resolutions wasn't 300 posts by the end of year. I don't know if it was subconscious or what...but anyway, instead of 7 posts a week it will probably be down to 2 or 3.

So I'm not disappearing completely. Besides this blog is kind of how Sketch makes sure I'm still breathing so it's not like I can give it up all together.

And it's become a part of me, as weird as that sounds, so I can't give it up, it'd be like chopping off a limb or something.

So, what have you missed?

Well, there was Wednesday.

Work was fine. Trained an intern. She's actually one of our regulars who decided to go to library school.

After work went out with Homey-G-Wigger for jalapeno margaritas cause she was in town. Graded papers for a while at the library so I got to introduce her around.

She got a call. That's what we Lutherans call a job offer at a different school.

When there's an opening they call a teacher and if they decline then they call another. It's a whole official process and goes through synod channels and all that. G hasn't taken a call in over a decade, which we're grateful for. Her last one was from Florida to which I responded, "Friends don't let friends move to Florida" and she stayed. But now this one is closer to her home. It would totally suck to lose her cause she basically keeps that school alive. Plus you know, 2G golf and our softball team would be severely lacking. But we would understand if she left. Anyway, it was cool to catch up.

Thursday I had off. Spent it running errands and watching Person of Interest.

I know, I'm so exciting.

Today felt super weird cause I'm never off on Thursdays so it felt like a Saturday. Attended a booktalk this morning cause I'm giving one in a few weeks and they let me go watch so I would know what to expect.

Public speaking and I are not friends, whatsoever.

But they did a good job.

It was nice to meet the people and introduce myself and also pick up pointers like, handouts are appreciated, and bringing books with you will give them a chance to check them out after, etc.

I think I had like 10 stats total all day cause I spent most of it either at a booktalk or off desk.

I did put holds on all my books I'll be talking about so I can actually come up with something to say about them.

Might even post it on here, if it doesn't suck that is.

Tonight was the hockey game. Our forth loss in a row. This one was sad too cause it was tied 2-2 and the goalie tried to land on the puck to make it stop and it went through his legs with like 3 minutes left.

Gonna have to pick it up cause it's another rivalry game on Valentine's Day.

Speaking of, if your boyfriend buys you flowers what is an appropriate gift to get him?

He's not big on gifts so I was thinking a hockey shirt. Something he could actually wear.

Hm. We'll see.

And that's all I got. It's snowing here like madness. Driving home felt like the Millenium Falcon on hyperdrive.

Yes, I'm a nerd, get used to it.

"Thought he could blindside me with marinara, didn't he?"

I love it when my friends are like, you have a blog?!

Yeah.

2 and a half years, 833 posts and 59,000 views later...

Thanks for the support.

It is the longest non-family relationship I've ever had.

Minus perhaps the MxPx bag.

But you can read about that here: New Shoes, the Cheese Speech, Warped Tour and MxPx

Yes, I have a blog.

And yes, for once in my life I have the patience and persistence to follow through with something.

Even if it is just rambling on virtual paper.

I know that is shocking to some people, especially since I was such an introvert when it first started.

Though years of working in public service seems to have changed that.

Which I didn't realize until it was pointed out to me.

I don't even remember how it came up, and I'm sure it's on here somewhere, but I was talking to Joe Studley and I was like, "but I am shy!" and Glee-Loving Boss just appears out of nowhere and goes "since when?!"

Ha! I found it. Go here: "I'll meet you there, I'm gonna go jam out to Gwyneth Paltrow!"

Perfect timing.

But I guess he was right.

And that was 2010, it's only gotten worse now that I'm in charge of stuff.

Speaking of being in charge of stuff, sometimes that sucks.

I had 2 people call me yesterday about volunteer work and another 2 call me today.

Yes, things do pick up in the summer, but not that much.

I have one coming in to train on Tuesday, another on Wednesday and after that I am just out of space.

Cause I already got a new one started last week!

So the suckish part is having to turn people down. Though I usually just direct them to a different branch.

That's the joy about working in a library system.

Another joy about working for a library system?

Getting to go to fun library conferences.

I know, some of you think that's an oxymoron, but I'm actually excited about this next one.

And it has great timing and placement.

Big teen event put on by the SLJ - School Library Journal, it's a magazine - it's basically a big online thing with a bunch of Young Adult authors. They talk about their books and then there's Q&A with the authors.

Gonna be fun, and guess where our session is being hosted!

The boyfriend's library.

If he even has a card there, I don't know, I haven't asked.

I should ask.

How have I not asked?

Anyway, I'm going to the library that just happens to be in his town and it's an all day thing which means I can go out there the night before and bring my cat with me cause the week after that IS CAMP J!!

I'm sure my mother is thrilled to read about that.

She just loves watching my cat while I'm gone.

But he likes the farmhouse.

And he doesn't bite there cause dad will stick him outside with the mean outdoor cats.

Plus he loves his grandma.

She hates it when I call her that.

But then she gives him Christmas presents and signs them "from grandma" so she really brings it on herself.

I don't know where I was going with this post.

Blog.

Home branch memories.

Volunteers.

SummerTeen event.

Carter.

None of those were my actual intention for this post, though frankly what was I've already forgotten.

Today was boring as the library was dead.

Came home and watched the rest of Doc Martin season two.

I'm liking it.

Mostly because it has Ash in it from Murder in Suburbia - Catherine Catz - but also because the doctor is just so rude and oblivious to all that's going on around him, it's highly entertaining.

"The Baker. The Colonel. Do these people have no names?!"

I have mentioned my amusement earlier right?

British show.

Created by Craig Ferguson.

I know, big surprise why I watch it. Watched his late show every night for like 3 years.

Anyway, grumpy doctor, used to be a successful surgeon suddenly can't stand the sight of blood, moves to a tiny town and becomes their general practitioner.

But it's hysterical, you should check it out.

Just finished season two, will have to request season three.

Think we have at least though season 5 at the library. At least I hope so.

Gotta love library DVD's.

Gonna put in another now as I fall asleep.

Though I'm exhausted - have been all day - so I won't last long.

Song of the day:

Love Jenny Lewis especially when its her and the Watson Twins.

I Met Him On A Sunday - Jenny Lewis & the Watson Twins / Cold Jordan - Jenny Lewis & Johnathan Rice

this is hysterical.

but my favorite by them is probably still...

You Are What You Love

pull another rabbit out of your hat.

she's quite good live.

i know, i'm sorry for overloading you with more of my indie music.

maybe tomorrow i'll go with something you'll recognize but you'll be missing out!!

"Did the president call?" "No."

Well it's official, over 50,000 hits in under 3 years.

Geez.

Didn't think it would get this big.

I should be ecstatic, or creeped out really, but all I am is tired.

Like seriously zonked.

Which is weird cause work was fine, but then I came home and got all stressed so I got all nauseous and just blah.

So what could have been a good day turned into a crapsuck.

But it's fine cause it's over.

The day I mean.

Or it will be in 18 minutes.

Then it will be tomorrow.

I know, this post is complete crap and you're wondering how I got so many views.

The answer is, I have no idea.

Every once in a while I'm clever, but for the most part I'm just random.

Like today.

Today started out great.

Met with the Library Goddess for coffee. She paid. Cause she loves me.

We put together our last newsletter - sad day - and sent that off to be published. Later got an email from her confirming my practicum - so I do get to do it in the fall at the Regional Center. Woohoo!

See, sane people would be more fearful than excited to do a 90 hour practicum there surrounded by legitimate crazy people, but I'm stoked.

So that was coffee.

Afterward I still had time before work so I started reading Silver Linings Playbook - which I bought last week with the Queen of the Known Universe.

The book book that was published in 2008, so long before the movie. Even though the movie is awesome. Which is why I'm reading the book in the first place.

Anyway, basically the book in made up of Pat's narratives on daily life and the road to getting Nikki back. So far it's awesome, I'm loving it.

A bit different from the movie, mostly with the Dad being a lot more anti-social than Robert De Niro was.

Read it before work and then during breaks so on page like 45 I think. Was going to read more tonight but then got distracted by Veep.

Season one from the library.

Love that as well.

It has the chick from My Girl in it, you know that plays Vada? All grown up, I had to look her up, it was driving me nuts trying to figure out what I knew her from.

Favorite quotes so far:
Dan: "She's mediocre really. Of all the 'ocres' she's the mediest."

Selina: "He's not supposed to register emotion. He's supposed to be like a robot geisha."
Amy: "I'll see to it."

Selina: "Did the president call?"
Sue: "No."

That last one takes place in every episode. A lot of unknowns in the cast, aside from Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the lead. She plays the Veep. Most of the show is about someone in her office screwing up, usually she says something that gets misinterpreted or her staff does something stupid, and then it's all about damage control.

But it's hysterical. They're on season two now but I don't have HBO so will probably be waiting for that one to come out on DVD as well. Not sure if you can watch those online, but I will look.

The DVD's are amusing though because all the episodes have commentary which is surprising. What's not surprising is that the one that talks most on the commentary is the dude that plays Jonah. Whom I didn't like originally, but now I do.

I love cast commentaries, though I think She's the Man is my favorite as it also has the whole cast and they're all hysterical. My least favorite being The Sweetest Thing. There's a helium machine in the room and it's just dumb.

Anyway, Veep. I'm liking it. It's highly entertaining. And it's been my distraction tonight. Though I think I should crash soon so I may change it over to X Games or something I've already watched so I'm not tempted to stay up.

Alright, and after all that boringness - sorry - I'll hit you with some music and then crash.

More audition highlights. Working on my top ten, auditions end next week.

Price Tag - Audrey Karrasch

i hate this song. but she's great.
"that is rough."

Safe & Sound - Savannah Berry

"you're soo good."
"you're soo screwed."

"these two guys, three seasons already. they're jaded, they're almost deaf."

"it's a very adoptable age."

love was just a stage name, watch it as it became

I'm curious about the person who got to my blog by searching for "horse and cow captions".

But I guess this is supposed to be my life in closed captions.

And I've seen horses and cows.

So they are part of my life in closed captions.

Almost as good as the time they landed here after looking up "exploded babysitter" - I went through an All That phase - or "O Lord of Light" and ended up with 2G's version of O Lord of Light.

The majority of the people find me through movie quotes, a lot of Pitch Perfect, Avengers, the last Harry Potter was the first big one. Everyone kept searching for McGonagall's "I always wanted to use that spell" and ended up here.

Geez, that was a while ago. Summer 2011, but I've had this thing for a long time. The first official entry was on Remember Remember the 5th of November.

The 2010 edition.

You'd think since I've been doing it this long - today's being my 713th post - I would know what to say and how to say it.

Nope, still clueless.

So let's focus on today.

Today was good, much better than yesterday. Charmed helped. Much to Sensei's amusement I'm sure.

Did a lot of updates to the TAB website, got free food for lunch from the bosses as a thanks for training new employees - we got props because they officially work at a different branch but we trained them cause we had the staff numbers to do it - jammed with my Trainee for most of the day and last hour of the day was spent in the circ workroom checking in 8 carts.

Challenge conquered.

So it was a good day at work.

After work headed out to the boyfriend's place. We watched Coming to America cause he and his best friend quote it ALL THE TIME and I had no idea what they were talking about.

He loves it and it's actually quite amusing. Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall shine through - I could barely recognize them in their different disguises. Except for that chick in the nightclub, that was definitely Arsenio Hall hitting on Arsenio Hall. Even IMDb lists her as "Extrememly Ugly Girl".

Eddie's still got it though. While Norbit turned into more of a horror movie than a comedy his Shrek stuff is great and he was a pretty funny criminal in Tower Heist.

Slide: A robbery can change very quickly. You have to be ready to adapt to the situation at any moment. Anything can happen. I was on a job a few days ago and my homie got shot in the face!
Kovacs: If you get shot in the face, it's over.
Slide: If you get shot in your HEAD, it's over. If you get shot in your FACE, the bullet will go through your cheek and come out the other side! Then, what you gonna do?
Cole Howard: Die! We're all gonna die!

So excited for a day off tomorrow. Getting my hair chopped, but not like chopped chopped cause I could never pull that off.

I think last time I got 6 inches cut off and it was still long.

But that's not 'til the afternoon, in the meantime I'm sleeping in! Well, the farmhouse version of sleeping in which means whatever time Dad decides I should be up or when Mom starts to worry that I'm dead or something.

Anyway, gonna do some more editing, konk out and get back at ya tomorrow for number 714.

Madness man, madness.

Songs of the day:

gotta jam to something whilst speed checking.

Falling - Iration

It's Alright Baby - Komeda

Don't all freak on me at once.

Yes it's different.

Same blog, new layout.

It was time for a change - I've had that setup for like a year and a half.

At least.

All the pink was weirding me out.

I'm not a pink person.

Which is where the humor was in the beginning, but now it's just annoying.

But if you can't read this then I'll change it to something else.

So, today?

Panic call from Oldest Sister when I was pulling into work, apparently Squirt's life was on edge since volleyball tryouts were today and all that.

Breathe.

She'll be fine.

And she was, she made the reserve team, which is between freshman and JV. So that's great, she did work pretty hard for it this summer. I'm proud, she's all grown up and has her own locker and all that.

Makes me feel old.

But then I go to work and I'm reminded that I'm the youngest one there and then I'm okay again.

Joking.

There are many times at work that I feel old as well, though the majority of those times involve the Teen Advisory Board or Summer Reading Programs. And those are mostly over, until September that is when we have our Hunger Games party. But it'll be fun, stale baguette toss, tribute fashion shows which reminds me that I need to pilfer the clothes from the camp stash sometime soon.

What else from today?

Um, ordered calendars.

That was exciting.

Cleaned keyboards - they were nasty. At some point this week I'm going to brave the lab.

But I'll be wearing gloves cause I'm not that brave.

Not that big of deal, can of air spray - it's thoroughly amusing - to clean the keyboards and screen cleaner spray for the monitors. Unfortunately there are 12 in the lab, plus 5 outside and I'll only have an hour to do it.

I might drag someone else into it with me, hmmm....who to choose.

Nah, they wouldn't like me very much after that.

Early lunch so I got to jam with Slim Shady, ummm oh yeah I got yelled at by a patron - well it was a generic yell aimed at all the employees in the area - saying that she was doing our job for us.

We're not perfect, I'll admit that, but we're not completely hopeless.

Thank you.

Aaannd that was pretty much my day. So not super boring, but not completely madhouse crazy either.

I did get to jam with BossLady for a while so that was fun. And they trusted Slim Shady and I to work together which is a rarity. We joke because the only time we see each other - even though we're in the same building - is either walking in in the morning or walking out at closing and that's only cause we park in the same parking lot.

It's a conspiracy man.

Okay, I will end this before I ramble you into oblivion.

Song of the night:

Paris - Ashley De La Rosa

was literally singing it all day.

well, that and this:

I'm addicted to you, don't you know that you're toxic?

Aw anonymous people, they make my day.

Thanks for the comment, I do my best.

Though this is mostly crap, but it's fun crap so that's okay.

So I'm breaking my early to bed streak.

But that's only because I don't have to go in to work tomorrow until 4PM.

Though I'm gonna have to wake up earlier cause I gotta finish the paperwork I keep putting off. Mom is coming to help, cause I'm hopeless with tax stuff. I printed off all the stuff and was like AHHHH!! then called her.

I gotta get a notary to sign stuff. Which is why I keep putting it off cause I work. And when I'm not at work the banks are closed.

So tomorrow since I have the morning off I'm forcing myself to get this over and done with. Then I won't have to deal with it anymore.

One of the many panic calls I've made this week, but the others are mostly camp-related.

Yes, I'm totally ready for camp.

HA!

Right.

Still gotta write all the skits, as the ones I have a pure crap.

And gotta get the lyrics from dad so I can make my 7th and 8th graders sing.

They hate me but their parents love me.

And I gotta make sure all the t-shirts come in and everyone sends in the right forms, and if they don't make sure they bring them to camp.

And I'm still getting applications which means gotta make sure there's room and if there's not we gotta switch stuff, stuff haven't come up with a new schedule or cleaned out the trailer.

I'm hoping all the t-shirts come in this week, otherwise we're screwed, but I'm going out this weekend in hopes of them being there.

So that's my daily camp update.

What did I do today other than freak about camp?

Oh right, went to work for six hours. Well, technically it was 6 and a half, but I got a half hour lunch. During which I got a sandwich from Jimmy Johns.

They still know my order.

I'm a creature of habit and when I first started working there I went to Jimmy Johns every day and got the same thing every day.

Then I started going to the place right across the street for sandwiches and all that, but they're closed on the weekends so I hit up Jimmy Johns if I work on Saturday or Sunday.

Anyway, I walk in and they start making my order without me saying anything.

And they know my name.

Still, even though I haven't been there during the week in like a year they still know me.

Where was I?

Oh right, so yes, work was estrogen-filled with some of my favorites so we had fun.

Made some plans to jam out with an old high school friend. We're going to hit up Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter tomorrow night.

Currently I'm watching some Home Run Derby. Prince Fielder is rockin' it, for serious. Love the fountains.

"That one was almost to Omaha!" "Wrong direction."

Alright, so I should probably go to bed at a semi-decent hour since Mom is coming tomorrow.

She'll be proud that I have actual food in my fridge and my apartment is semi-clean.

Rock on man.

Song of the night:

"Toxic" Brown Derbies

to be fair i did warn you there would be more of them.

Made some changes to the blog layout, if you haven't noticed already. A previous post brought up a Charlie's Angels debate so vote for your favorite and we'll see who the most awesome angel is.
