"Why are they always old?!"

So, everyone keeps texting me about what to buy for the boyfriend for Christmas.

I took him shopping this weekend as mentioned in the post and picking out gifts was like pulling teeth.

Now I know how Oldest Sister feels when she takes me clothes shopping.

At least I managed to come up with a few ideas from myself. From others I've got nothing. Cause he says he wants nothing.

But at our family Christmas no one gets nothing so I'll have to come up with some ideas. We're spending actual Christmas with his family and New Year's with mine since that's when we're having our family Christmas.

Which I think I told my mother, and if not, then she knows now.

Yes, we are at that point. Afterall we did almost get married in Vegas. Which Cabin Fever pointed out is kind of a big deal.

But it's been over 11 months now.

Which is huge for me cause as previously mentioned most of my relationships don't last longer than a Mento.

And I'm happy.

Which is also new.

Anyway, speaking of relationships, so had yet another "magnet moment" today at work. I helped this dude in the lab and he kept coming up with reasons to come to the desk like to borrow a pen and then to bring back a pen and then to ask about a newspaper and then to borrow the pen again and then he needed my help in the lab again and THEN he hits me with "can I show you something" and says something about how I'm beautiful or something, I don't even remember I was too "get me the heck out of here"-d at the moment. Anyway, so then he goes back into the lab, finishes his session and when putting the pen back in the holder on the desk slips me a note asking for my number.

Needless to say I did not give it to him.

The Library Judge says I'm 6, Queen of the Known Universe says I should have said 12.

6 is props cause she's a badass. Speaking of, "The Rise of Nine" is finally out and I added it to my wishlist - aka I told Favorite Sister in Law to buy it for me. But if she doesn't perhaps Mom will. And then Homey G will immediately borrow it.

I'm wondering if they'll ever make a sequel but wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. I don't think it had the greatest following.

Where was I going again? Oh right, so then this drunk lady started hitting on our security guard, and the poor dude is so young you just feel bad. But he handled it really well. Though later he came up to me and was like, "why are they always old?!"

So apparently if they were younger and hotter he wouldn't mind as much.

I have finally come up with somewhat of a Christmas list.

The first few are boring.

-Luggage
-Bookshelves
-Vacuum
-Curtains Hung Up - still unsuccessful on that front

But then I ran into some fun stuff

-Burn Notice season five
-Charlie's Angels season five
-Once Upon a Time season one
-Pittacus Lore books "Rise of Nine" and then the one about lost legacies 


Well, I called it. Sort of, no I did. Picked the final four mentioning Nicholas might slip through just cause he's got people in his corner. I'll miss Amanda, she was great. As was Melanie she just had a bad night. People are ticked. Much like when Pip got kicked off last year. Bowtie and all.

But they're young and hipster-ish and the teens love them.

But my top 2 are STILL IN IT!

And I'm rooting for Terry now as well. He was in my honorable mentions when I was originally crafting the list. And I listened to his song almost 50, well, probably well over 50 times last night while falling asleep.

And then again today.

Second year in a row for Team Blake cause of Jordis last year.

It's interesting now though that it doesn't matter your team, just your number of votes so actually Adam and Xtina don't have any of their team left in the competition. Cee-Lo has Trevin and Nicholas, Blake has Cassadee and Terry.

So I watched The Three Musketeers on DVD today as it came out Tuesday. "was it 40 or 400?" "just the 40. it was an off day."

Awesome special features with extended scenes and interviews on set with the actors and crew.

The awesomeness demands a sequel - especially since Orlando is headed to France to start a war - and he travels by ship but no pirates in sight.

But it's one of those movies that needs a sequel because of the ending or lack there of. But then I'm not sure of its ratings or viewer numbers which would answer the question of would there be any interest in a sequel if it were made in the first place? But this one needs it! You know? Just like I Am Number Four.

Major cliffhanger.

Sequel in the works? No idea. Though the novel is offically published. And I own it. Sitting on the shelves in front of me.

Now I just need the motivation to read it.

And about 20 others sitting right next to it.

I'll stick to the editing in the meantime. Made a lot of progress tonight was proud. I find it relaxing, but then again I'm a nerd. But it gives me a chance to use my English major skills.

Cause you know knowing things about classical literature quirks, rhyming structures, grammatical trends, or being able to name the author or title doesn't help me at all at my day job.

A Library Service Associate who knows things about literature? What is the world coming to?

Sequels, that's where I was going.

Know what does have a sequel? and a third installment this upcoming summer? Men In Black. "This definitely rates about a 9.0 on my weird-shit-o-meter." Apparently I'm way behind cause I had no idea they were bringing it back. Wasn't the second one a disaster? I mean I love Rosario Dawson but she's the only thing I remember from the entire movie. And I don't even remember how she was involved in the plot it's been so long. She was probably the killer monster or something.

There are a lot of good movies coming out this summer aside from that you've got The Avengers. The Dark Knight Rises. The new GI Joe. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Bourne Legacy. That should be especially good as it ended the way it ended.

But enough about all that. I was actually productive today. Well semi-productive. The majority of my work I can't do until Monday.

Today was good though. Flew by pretty quickly, though I was expecting a weirder day aside from being the "in charge but not actually in charge" person cause I had worked there the longest out of the employees that weren't at lunch during that hour. Which never happens ever cause I still consider myself a new employee even though I've been there almost 2 years. Though I still am pretty much the youngest of the bunch.

Of course that's when all the killer reference questions came in. But no, I was waiting for bizarre crazy stuff cause this morning I made every single light. And that never happens. So something was off.

Falling asleep as I write. I've been staring at this screen for too long, even my cat thinks I'm overduing it. He's konked out next to me about an hour ago. How do you spell overduing? or is it overdueing? or is it even a word at all? Like I said, sleep is near. And nearer. and nearer. and nearer. I don't think nearer's a word either.

You know what's a weird word? Fork. Sorry Drew reference there. That would've been a good one on nitrous. But I probably would have laughed and then he would have sliced my tongue off.

Today:
Spent over an hour packing up 16 boxes worth of donations. I was totally exhausted all day. Because that was just the morning. After work was baseball, Saltdogs game with Wordsmith = awesome. totally fun, had my margarita and my funnel cake. excellent.
Currently watching I Am Number Four as I crash but I turned on the for hearing impaired thing and it's this dude narrating everything that's happening. totally awesome. "Now, at the farmhouse..." awesome.

Tomorrow means College World Series and I'm totally stoked. We're leaving super early because we're all about the experience, walking around and seeing all the booths and stuff. Buying souvenirs. Plus we can find parking.

On this lovely bella notte....

I couldn't post last night since our internet was done but I'll try not to ramble on too long tonight.

Anybody do anything special for Memorial Day? I remember, a few years ago, we went to a cemetary with one of my uncles and he was telling this story - apparently, one of our relatives was quite the drinker and the doctor told him it was unhealthy so he should stop. The dude looks at the doctor and says, "I know a lot more old drunks than old doctors." Awesome.

I was actually pretty productive this weekend. I cleaned out a section of my closet, had a camp meeting - led the thing even though i'm the youngest - sent out a bunch of application letters - after stuffing envelopes and writing addresses for a couple hours. Feels good. But the letters are out so I should get more forms this week. Then it'll just be camp central.

I also am on disc #3 out of 14 for Book #7. We have to listen to the audio version and I'll listen to more of that tomorrow between shifts while I clean my apartment....I say in a semi-dream state, it's highly probably that I'll nap instead.

Tonight I went over to oldest sister's house to have dinner and watched I Am Number Four - which I talked about on here earlier. It was the one we went to and didn't know anything about it so we said if it sucked we'd just make commentary. It was surpringly entertaining. Just like Swamp People. "Shoot it Jacob!"

Tired. But good tired. Life is kind of all over the place lately so had to take a break and relax - hung out with my awesome friend and went to see the "Lincoln Lawyer". It was actually pretty good, I'd give it a 7/10 on my Scale of Awesome. Matthew McConaughey, Josh Lucas, Ryan Phillippe, Marisa Tomei, William H. Macy - I was surprised by him in that role I didn't think it would fit but it was good. Interesting plots twists, I liked it. I've always though that Josh Lucas and Matthew McConaughey were actually really similar because of the roles that they usually play - You know the dumb guys that women run away from and then come back to, and then the inspiring coaches, plus they look similar so it was funny to see them both together in a courtroom.
Oh, and forgot from before, Sunday also went to see "I Am Number Four" you know, just meaning to eat milk duds and make commentary but it was actually really good. I might even cave and read the book, just cause I want to know what happens in the rest of the series. I'm gonna give it a 9/10 on the S.O.A. Quinn as Sarah was kinda funny. But she pulled it off, I didn't see her as the cheerleader she is on Glee. or former cheerleader of whatever.

Another fun thing coming up - SCHOOL MUSICAL! got the script sunday, casted it today, going out for our first practice tomorrow. Don't have a lot of time this year, we're doing it in early May so it's gonna be a lot to learn in a short amount of time. Plus we don't have a regular schedule this year, it was easy when I had the same classes every week so we knew when I'd be free to go out there. This year my work schedule's all over the place so we only know so far in advance and then if I'm free sometime they might not be. But we'll figure it out.

Did anyone else used to watch that show on Nickelodeon, "Figure it out" hosted by Summer Sanders? where the kids come and they've like invented something or accomplished something big or whatever and then there was a celebrity panel who had to guess what it was and if they didn't they'd get slimed? I just remember Amanda Bynes always asking if they had slapped themselves with liver.

had nachos for supper at the theater. should probably eat something resembling real food before i konk out. it's not going to be a slow day tomorrow. work in the morning. then practice. okay driving to practice, then practice, then driving back from practice, then back to work for the night shift, then come home and crash. body of proof will be on, hooray!
but i love the musical. last year's wasn't a musical so i guess i can't call it that, we'll go with grade school play. not a lot of kids this year so i might have to learn lines of my own, that's still being decided.
