"I'm Usher and I approve this message."

This is all I have to say about today.

Two years later.

I know it's not exciting to you, but it is exciting to me.

And that's really all I have to say about today.

Mostly because I need to do the homework that I was going to do during the day, but then of course didn't because maintenance was here, but before that I got hooked on SVU, and then after maintenance was here - well, there was some overlap - came 2 hours of work. And then after work the boyfriend was here.

So I chose him over homework.

In my defense he is leaving for a week and a half.

Plus I like him more than homework.

Which I hope all sane people would say about their boyfriends.

Or they're really in trouble.

Anyway, so yes, curtains.

Then work.

Then the boyfriend and I watched The Voice.

In fact he was the one that brought up the show in the first place, so he is not allowed to blame it on me.

Not that he would.

Well, he probably would.

But whatever, I love him and The Voice.

And my curtains.

And going in to work for only 2 hours, so it was a good day.

On to the music, because I need to work!

I don't know if he likes to watch it with me though, cause I can tell in advance which singers aren't going to be picked by their attitudes and their timing on the show.

And I can usually guess the coach, only missed one tonight and even Usher was shocked about that one.

Tiny Dancer - Caroline Glaser

nice dimples blake.

U Got It Bad - Jeff Lewis

love shakira's last second turnaround.
big surprise on the coach pick there...

Not Ready To Make Nice - Sasha Allen

"do you see that?" i see that blake.
"i'm sensitive!"
style reminds me of Amanda Brown from last season. she'll go far.

so far i'm thinking adam has the strongest team with sasha, judith hill, sarah simmons and midas whale.

blake is a close second with christian porter, holly tucker and savannah berry.

shakira has spanish-galore on her team, the strongest being monique abbadie.

and then surprisingly, even though i'm not a big fan of usher (anymore anyway) he does have a pretty good team with jess kellner, ryan innes, jeff lewis and michelle chamuel.

out!

legitimate pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use.

My McDonald's is cooler than your McDonald's.

Sure, I had to wait for my Southwest Chicken Salad - order same every time - but they gave me free icecream and a coupon for free food.

So, take that.

Aside from that today sucked.

I mean, work was alright.

And I'm okay now.

But between work and now has been ridiculous.

So remember my whole curtains thing?

And how I have them.

And they've been laying on my foosball table for two years now?

So, Mom bought me a rod attached to brackets that extend out farther than the blinds.

And at a glance it looked like it was long enough across, so I called and asked if tomorrow maintenance could come and set it up.

Then, upon further inspection, the rod is about 4 inches too short.

So, in a panic, I run to Lowe's.

But see, I already have a rod, I just don't have brackets that extend far enough away from the wall, so I figured I could buy longer ones and they would work with the rod that I have.

Turns out that the rod is too big for the brackets.

Like the divot isn't wide enough for the pole to lay in.

So then I had to go back and get another rod.

Turns out the rod I bought - when I went back - didn't extend long enough either.

So I had to go back again.

This time I bought a longer one, that extends and it fits in the brackets.

So there was much rejoicing.

After there was an excessive amount of four letter variety.

I'm sure my neighbors were alarmed.

But it's done now.

And Oldest Sister and Squirt made an appearance in support.

I gave her her Doctor Who Where's Waldo book I had ordered for her.

It's pretty exciting.

Gotta keep up the favorite aunt status.

Anyway, I had all these plans that I was going to clean the apartment and then start some homework but since I'm was so frustrated I probably would have broken things or wrote nothing but angst I figured I'd take the night off and do it tomorrow.

Don't have to go in until 4, so from the time I'm up, the time I go to work - for 2 hours - and then after 'til the time I go to bed I have to write up the presentation for Thursday.

10 minute speech, I can ramblenation it.

The undergrads find me amusing.

Not sure why.

But they're grading us.

Sort of.

So I'll be informative and charming and fly through it.

After I like puke beforehand cause I hate public speaking.

Literally makes me nauseous and like shaking and all that.

Which is weird, cause I did drama in high school.

And I was in English major in college which meant a lot of presentations.

And now I work in public service.

But still, I hate it.

Just makes me nervous.

I don't remember what else I was going to talk about, let me scroll up.

Salad, curtains, Lowe's, family, grad school, oh right, work.

So yeah, work was alright, I guess.

Typical Sunday.

Except I was supposed to train 3 GoPo's today, but only 1 showed up.

Not my problem.

It's their responsibility to get their 20 hours of volunteering done by May. If they don't show up for a preapproved time, then it's on them to set up another, or find somewhere else to volunteer.

The one I had was fantastic.

Did some computer stuff, then ran a Lost in Transit list...

Which is basically a list of stuff that went missing during delivery from branch to branch.

Most things were improperly checked in.

Or never made it to delivery in the first place.

Either way they go on a list and we have awesome volunteers who run them.

Lost in Transit.

That was gonna be our band name at the home branch.

Pretty sure that's in here somewhere...oh yeah: Joe Studley and the Lost In Transit

He still hates that nickname.

Wow, when posts were short.

What happened to those days anyway?

Makes me want to look over my old stuff and figured out if that was a rare occurrence or when all this rambling was triggered.

I know, I know, at birth. Shutup.

Speaking of birth, Mom came in today.

Brought me my jacket.

That I left at the music mentor's benefit yesterday.

Funny story, so I left my jacket there, yeah, but see I always keep my wallet in my jacket pocket.

But for some weird reason that morning I took my wallet out of my jacket pocket and put it in my pants pocket instead.

Which I never do.

So someone was watching out for me, cause I wouldn't have gotten far without that.

What else from today?

Got to work with some cool people. Team Awesome was reunited for a few hours....Queen of the Known Universe won, ugh, in our stats competition. Think she beat me by like 3 points, but to be fair she did have like 30 minutes more public service than me cause I was training the GoPo. Who knows, I could have gotten 4 points in those 30 minutes and then I would've dominated.

I already owe people candybars cause stupid Louisville beat my Shockers.

Ugh.

Oh well, I figured Louisville will win it all after they beat Duke like they did. Injury and all.

But Wordie is all for Michigan so we'll see how that goes.

Alright, and that was my day, so let's skip to the music so I can crash.

Hoping maintenance doesn't get here at 8AM tomorrow.

Setting my alarm for 9.

Now watch, they won't get here 'til 2.

Hurt So Good - Carly Rae Jepsen

i know, i know, but it's catchy. not as catchy as call me maybe, but close.

"I was in an ice cream haze and I couldn't see!"

New strategy for stealing the check from the Cool Aunt.

Feed her ice cream and hide her glasses.

It worked!

But only cause Mom made me do it, long story.

Today rocked.

Slept in, woke up around eleven, jammed out with cat and watched Chuck.

Then headed over to get some jalapeno margaritas!! with the Cool Aunt and my mom.

Since it was my birthday - well, it's almost my birthday - we got fried ice cream for desert, it was fantastic and I highly recommend it.

And I got another duck, I'm STOKED!!

See, this is why I love the Cool Aunt, well not the only reason I love the Cool Aunt, cause you know she's cool, but sometimes she buys me presents for random reasons and I find it highly entertaining.

I get my winter hats from her, "The man they call Jayne" hat last year, plus my new "tundra" hat. Then, ever since high school graduation I've been getting rubber ducks. They're all over my apartment and car. It's highly amusing. And who could forget the fun socks? Cause really, how can one live in life without fun socks.

Regular socks are boring.

In addition to my duck and socks and lots of candy I got some Husker shirts - cause you can never have enough Husker shirts, I decided that last week when I cleaned out my closet - and then Mom got me some fun socks and clothes as well.

Plus she bought lunch. And brought me soup. And took my tax stuff. So she rocks.

After the awesomeness that was fajitas and jalapeno margaritas, I headed back and freakin' cleaned my apartment.

See, there's a difference between cleaning your apartment and freakin' cleaning your apartment.

Cleaning your apartment involves throwing things in your closet so that they're not visible.

Freakin' cleaning your apartment involves brooms, mops, and dustrags.

Did the whole thing, bathroom and kitchen included.

Now it's all bright and shiny.

Though I need more lightbulbs, cause apparently they've all decided to die at once.

Which I guess makes some sort of sense as I installed them all at the same time originally.

Anyway, so the apartment is clean!! Except, for the freakin' foosball table. You know why the foosball table isn't clean? Cause there's freakin' curtains on it!

I've decided that that's what I want for my birthday.

Someone to hang up the curtains that have been sitting on the foosball table for months. They've been there so long that I don't even remember how long ago I got them.

The bedroom ones are up, it's just the living room ones we had problems with as they didn't fit over the blinds. Now they should. Or I think they should, but perhaps not. Who knows? I don't, clearly, as they are still sitting on my foosball table.

Aaannd rant over. Moving on.

Class tomorrow so I should pack before I'm lights out. Gonna turn on some Chuck and konk out.

I love Chuck. There's actual character depth, you know? It's not just all about the action and explosions and all that. It's funny and you get real live characters. Plus Adam Baldwin. Granted Sarah is probably my favorite as she is badass, plus Chuck is you know, normal. But Casey seriously just makes me laugh. Adam Baldwin is quickly rising to the top of my hilarious badass actors.

Speaking of the man they call Jayne,

Song of the night:

"The Hero of Canton" Adam Baldwin

that's my hat. except mine is black with colors, instead of orange.

If you haven't seen Firefly you're really missing out. Space Cowboys and Nathan Fillion, how can you go wrong? This is where Adam Baldwin really shines, too funny. He plays the muscle - similar to his character on Chuck - and he's highly amusing too. Plus he has great shirts - of which I own half - and an awesome hat.

The show was great, but of course short-lived, as most of the great ones are. Yet there was such a big protest when it went off the air that a movie was made a few years later and the cult following still continues.

"this landing is gonna get pretty interesting."
"define interesting."
"oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?"

plus Castle references it all the time.

And she's off! To watch Adam Baldwin kick some rogue-spy butt.

Circles, Squares and Ugly Women, Oh My!

I was told today that I'm "social". Yuck! That's just mean. And they wouldn't take it back! But it got me thinking, in that building I'm a totally different person. It's funny, Superwoman told me once that being in public service is a lot like being an actress. And it's so true. I get it now. Me, outside the library, totally different than the "actress" on the inside. Not that I'm a bad person. I'm just...antisocial. I prefer being by myself at my apartment not talking to people. I mean, I like my friends and I like hanging out with my friends and my family they're fun. But being told that I'm suddenly this extraverted social person is like a slap in the face. Like a big wake up call. I don't know how else to describe it and I know that sounds ridiculous, but it just proves how much I've changed. In college I had like 3 main friends. And they were pretty much the only people I talked to until senior year. Everyone else was a friend from high school. Then again I hated college so maybe that was a part of it.
And now I'm just rambling in a big circle that really has no point. Cause that's what a circle is. A never ending round thing with absolutely no point. So I should jump out of the circle and into a square. Cause that has like, four points. Yeah, didn't see that coming did you? Neither did I, moving on.

None of this post is going to make any sense whatsoever, just so you know. You should probably just skip down to the bottom right now.

SQUARE!

So, a supervisor at work, who I didn't know before we switched to the new system but now I think is awesome - the supervisor, not the system but I'll get there - anyway, I follow her around with applause literally because she's saved me on multiple occasions. But yeah, she told me today I "done good." I was like super excited. Cause I'm a nerd. And social apparently, but mostly a nerd. She said she knows she can count on me to test stuff with the new system. And this week I've decided that I'm going to stop complaining about the new system. Because, guess what, we're not going back to the old one. So either you can whine and complain because of the change or you can just go with it. I've decided to just go with it and find out any shortcuts I can and pass them on. Which is why the supervisor likes me. Cause I don't complain about the system. Or I've stopped complaining about the system, let's go with that. More rambling, freaking circle.

SQUARE!

Our security guard asked me for gum and while I went to get it I said to cover for me. So she came around and sat at the desk - decked out in her security uniform - and pretended to work. I snapped a picture and sent it to Superwoman. Her response was Quote "Damn the place is going to the cops." End Quote. I died.

SQUARE!

Maintenance people came over to put curtains up today but could only do the ones in the bedroom cause the brackets weren't long enough to cover the blinds in the living room. Then, I went over to Oldest Sister's place and we got new brackets and then pizza and beer and all that stuff then they came back here and we watched Match Game while oldest brother-in-law attempted to put up the curtains with the new brackets...which were now too small. So first too short, and now too small...and now I just have a bunch of brackets that don't work. So hopefully oldest-brother-in-law will be able to return the ones we got tonight. Cause yeah, brackets, what am I gonna do with brackets... freaking circle.

SQUARE!

Pretty sure it was Jack the pigeon dead in the parking lot last night but the cool aunt says that Jack simply left because he wanted a hot dog or to go and drive a bus. I was proud of her Mo Willems references. Made me smile.

Oh crap! I gotta email a chick about camp forms. And text mom about the curtains cause I forgot. Circle! Geez!

This is like another one of those write as you go along ones like I did with the booktalk writing. Usually I have things planned out. Not tonight. Circle.

Hey look, four SQUARE points. I should really just end this post now. Cause it's not gonna go anywhere else. We watched the boobs episode of Match Game tonight while they were here. It's funny. And yes, that's the only way I can name that episode, I'm pretty sure I posted that clip yesterday...or the day before but you should watch it if you haven't already. Fannie is awesome. "I said berries" I died.

Okay, before I ring around the circle again I'll hit you with a music rec and get the heck offa this keyboard before I say something stupid...er... than I've said earlier.

hmmm.... music.... oh!

I've heard this song like five times in the past couple weeks. And before this week I haven't heard it in like years. I mean, I have it on my computer cause it's from a soundtrack I own. But yeah, today brought it all back yet again this week.
Enjoy.

"If you wanna be happy" Jimmy Soul

this song is just mean. but funny. but still really mean. I like the screaming part from 1:38-the end. "YOUR LIFE!.....YOUR WIFE!....OF VIEW!....get an ugly girl to marry you...."

Name that soundtrack. I'll give you a hint.
"The moment I wake up.........before I put on my makeup........"
