Total Stats after 8 hours of work = 4
Reason = I was on desk for a whole 2 hours the entire day.
The rest of my day was spent in the back room rearranging.
That's right, our entire back room at work is totally different.
And it only took us like...5-6 hours.
Well, I guess it's still not done, but it's mostly done.
We just need to move the phone to the other jack, and then move the safe to the other side. And then they have to hang shelves for supplies.
But the lockers are moved - that was a 3 man effort, literally we had to call in another man to help out cause they're massive and come in groups of three. Slim Shady and I were almost flattened by them once, but luckily Fearless Leader and my Work Big Brother were around to save us.
Anyway, lockers were moved, tables were replaced, computers were relocated on the new tables, desk was moved, stuff was cleaned...that hadn't been cleaned in years.
Nasty.
But it was worth it. And now there's much more space for carts and all that.
We'll see how long it stays clean.
So that was big, then after work I hit up Barnes and Noble to listen to Bubby sing and play recorder with his classmates. Then a portion of the proceeds from sales that day went to their school. Pretty neat, and a good excuse to do some more Christmas shopping.
Now I'm almost done, just Oldest Sister left. Still have plenty of time before our Christmas on the first.
And speaking of Christmas the 14th - aka my graduation - is supposed to be the first day of my Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck 12 days of music thing. Since I will not be around to post that day, or tomorrow for that matter, I'm starting it tonight.
Same songs, different artists.
So. Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck: Day One
Pat-a-Pan - SPASH Wind Ensemble
last year it was David Archuleta, before that it was Mannheim.
not bad for high schoolers.
Auld Lang Syne - Martin Tallstrom
last year it was Lea Michele, before that it was a banjo cover.
this guy is great on guitar. check out his cover of Foggy Mountain Breakdown here - it's madness.
Happy Christmas (War is Over) - Charice
last year was Christina Perri, before that it was Maroon 5.
this chick is crazy talented. you should youtube her other stuff, she's fantastic. and yes she was on glee at one point.
Here's Day One from 2011, and 2012.
Alright, have a good weekend. I'll attempt to not trip in front of hundreds of people.
Wish me luck.
Legit pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

Some are reaching, Few are there, Wandering from a hero's chair.
Today was one for the record books.
I broke a door.
Not on purpose.
I'll get there.
Staff meeting in the morning. Presented on the conference I attended before camp at the boyfriend's library.
Huzzah for new teen material. I bought two of the books tonight - I'll get there too.
I learned a lot at the conference but the highlights I relayed were: "make your fiction seem like nonfiction. if it's not believable then no one will finish it," and "if your characters say 'do it my way' you do it their way or you'll have a crappy book", but I forgot "writing is the next best thing to napping". woops.
I enjoy writers. They are highly entertaining.
After the meeting I checked in magazines, trained a volunteer on how to scan media, worked the desk, got a hamburger for lunch, and all was fine and boring until I broke the door.
Okay first off, it wasn't my fault. I was going into the bathroom and the stall door just fell off.
Like literally fell off.
Dropped and bounced.
I screamed like a teenager, so loud that a coworker busted in freaking out.
We looked and there were metal shavings on the ground. Apparently the door hinge had been on its way out for a while, it just happened to officially fall when I was there to take the blame.
The best part of the whole situation was having to explain it to my supervisor cause he had to call to get it fixed.
Of course Superwoman was gone, Girlscout was in a meeting, BossLady was at lunch, so I went downstairs to Supervisor Alley and there was the Old New Guy sitting innocently at his desk...
He found it entertaining.
I did too.
After the whole shock factor wore off.
It literally just dropped and bounced.
And what would you have done in that situation other than scream and attempt to catch it?
Let it drop I guess.
It was a lot heavier than I thought it would be so I just ended up leaning it against the wall.
And then of course I had to take a picture.

Woops.
Door Killer.
Don't know my own strength.
Anyway, after that disaster things calmed down a bit 'til Mom showed up and scared the crap out of me at the desk.
But she brought zucchini bread and catfood so it's okay.
Shouldn't mix those two up, that'd be bad.
Saving the bread for breakfast tomorrow, yay for food in my fridge!
After things had calmed down I took a break to call another librarian. For my practicum we're setting up that remote library and we're going to use BISAC instead of Dewey so on Monday - my day off - I'm going to go visit a library using BISAC and talk to their librarian.
It's the one in my college town so maybe I'll swing by campus just for fun.
Not.
And Mr. Tom aka my Mr. Bossman Sir for my practicum says it will count toward my hours as it is for research purposes.
Huzzah!
Should be fun.
After work I met up with the Queen of Awesome for supper and a trip to Barnes and Noble.
Bought far too many books, but who doesn't while in Barnes and Noble?
I need to just go in there with a set list and not sway from it.
But that won't happen.
Got Second Sister's birthday present - which was the original intent - ate some good food, talked some girl talk, it was good to catch up as we haven't in a while.
And then of course ran into Oldest Sister, Squirt and Squirt's BFF in the parking lot.
They were headed where we ate supper, but as it was freezing in there we had left and were headed back to Barnes and Noble to jam in the much warmer cafe area.
"My cat weighs 23 pounds and 6 ounces."
"I have a child who weighs less than that."
Should really turn this dinner out thing into a monthly deal just for sanity purposes.
Bought another novel while we were there cause I had forgot about it until I saw something like it.
Huzzah for Richard Castle.
He is wicked awesome.
After our night out on the town I hit up Target for groceries. Cause for some weird reason I buy them there instead of an actual grocery store. Probably because I get my media, shoes, and all that there too, I'm all about one-stop shopping.
Came home, fed the cat, now I'm jamming out and watching Wipeout re-runs cause my DVR is full.
Gonna post this and crash.

Two librarians walk into a bookstore...
Finish that sentence.
Basically, last hour of the day, Queen of the Known Universe says she's going to the bookstore to pick up a paperback they ordered for her, meanwhile I had decided that I wanted to read Silver Linings Playbook, but that the line at the library was too long so I was just going to go and buy it.
So we raced over there after work.
I won.
You would have been proud, we didn't fix their displays, rearrange their shelves correctly or yell at the teens who were throwing legos in the kids section.
Not our problem, we don't work there.
And that took incredible talent, you have no idea.
Because the shelver in me wants to scream at their organizational methods.
And the librarian in her wants to make things look nice and neat.
But we restrained ourselves, and made snarky comments instead.
The problem with working with books is that when I don't see a barcode on the front cover I like, pause, and then I'm like, oh yeah, there's not supposed to be one.
Neither is there supposed to be a date written on the bottom or a label on the side to see if an item is actually fiction or nonfiction.
I actually covered bookstore woes a while ago here: You Know You're a Librarian When...
We found some good titles.
She got her paperback.
I bought Silver Linings Playbook.
And Star Wars, the original trilogy in book form.
The boyfriend was oh so excited.
Pretty sure he was not a fan of that movie - Silver Linings Playbook, not Star Wars. He loves Star Wars. More than me, or so he claims.
Speaking of the boyfriend, so I might be going on a motorcar ride with him at the end of the month. If I can find someone to switch shifts with me that is.
Basically it's the one he looks forward to and his dad can't make it but he doesn't want to go alone so....
I asked the boss, will see what she has to say about it.
She calls him "Stude".
Long story.
I find it highly entertaining how fascinated people at work are with my love life.
Apparently it's highly entertaining to them because before him I didn't really have one.
Aside from all the crazies who stalk me there.
Where was I?
Yes, the bookstore.
We had fun, but we always do.
They don't let us work together often.
Mostly because we plot to one day take over the library, and then the world.
And she likes my signs.
I've decided to start an album on Facebook of random signs.
I used to take pictures of them all the time.
Back when I was a nerdy teenager.
Now I'm just a nerd.
With a boyfriend who thinks taking pictures of trains is better than taking pictures of signs.
Wouldn't even pull over to let me jump out and take a picture of the genuine legitimate "Beware of Dog" sign.
Which you only see in redneck movies.
Geez.
Anyway, this nerd is currently watching Murder In Suburbia, season one.
The actual season one, not the "season one" that they sent that was actually season two.
So far, so good.
*staring at boss*
Scribbs: "He plays golf."
Ash: "Why are we so deeply disappointed by that?"
Think Oldest Sister would like it - she's big into British mysteries.
Speaking of, I'm going to Squirt's track meet tomorrow morning to watch her throw and then me, Oldest Sister and Second Sister are gonna hit up the Roller Derby after.
Stoked.
Second Sister has never been before so I'm pretty excited.
But yes, off tomorrow, and Sunday for Easter.
Doing lunch with his family and then an egg hunt and supper with mine.
Okay, normally I would stay up and sleep until noon cause tomorrow I'm off, however, the track meet is in the morning, which means I actually have to get up at a decent time.
So I shall be crashing soon.
Quotes of the Day: these fall into the "things overheard at the library" category:
-"Oh, hand me the one with the naked dancing men."
-"Don't give me virgins, no!"
Don't ask.
Which means on to the music...
Originally the plan was to feature my favorites from Neon Trees and Owl City after Maroon 5's greatest hits, but I got distracted.
Anyway, these guys were great live, when they covered "Don't You Want Me" the crowd went nuts.
Well, the adults, all the teens were looking around bewildered going, "what the hell is this song and why do you know it?"
Here are my favorites from Neon Trees:
Animal
1983
1983 is callin' I've been on my knees and crawlin'
In the Next Room
interesting video...
Everybody Talks
another one you probably know, i've posted it enough. though when I hear it now I think of Michaela Paige performing it on The Voice.
Wish List
probably my favorite new original christmas song, like actually original, the rest of mine are all classics.
Tomorrow you'll get Owl City highlights.
typing in the tags with autofill, and "everybody" brought up a tag for "everybody has an uncle johnny" totally forgot about that one.

actually bought this one and their album before they hit it big - love free iTunes music, they do this single of the week thing and it was one of them, about a month later it started playing on the radio. He's blonde now, with tight pants and purple shoes.

No one intentionally watches that. Unless you're my dad.
Hmmm, today.
Slept in, that was awesome, did some laundry, then met up with my teens at the bookstore to pick out paperbacks for the library to buy.
Huzzah for Barnes and Noble.
My favorite bookstore, though not my favorite location, but it worked.

Basically, gave them sheets for them to write down title, author and ISBN number. We jammed in the YA area for the majority of the time, but stopped by the youth area in the end to see if there were any youth stuff that could pass for YA.
In the end I got a lot of great titles. Two of my teens who are close to aging out brought up the fact that next year may be their last year, though technically it's TEEN Advisory Board so I'm saying 19 counts.
But what happens after 19? We do stuff for youths and teens and adults, but where do college kids fit in the mix? We're close enough to the University, we should have some sort of programming for them as well. Perhaps I'll bring it up to the bosses, see what they have to say.
After they wrote down titles they got snacks - which they said was their favorite part. Cause who doesn't love cheesecake, really? I got an IBC rootbeer - flashbacks to high school - and we jammed out in the cafe area for a while until their parents came to pick them up.
I grabbed the Doctor Who version of Monopoly for Squirt therefore re-confirming my favorite aunt status.
Take that fellow competitors.
Speaking of cool aunts, had jalapeno margaritas and fajitas with the Cool Aunt after the bookstore. Got some fun family facts from her so I can continue on with my family history research for Mom's side now that Dad's is officially posted. Scroll down a few and you'll find it.

speaking of course of swamp people, ax men, hee haw and all the rest of the stuff he has playlisted for me to watch when i go home.
She recommends House of Cards so I will now have to find the online.
And that was my day, so on to the music and the fiction and then I'm out.
25 seconds of awesomeness that I blame completely on one of my camp kids.

okay, to make up for yesterday's short section
Life of a Teenage Writer: Part Four
“Hi Grams,” he replied, taking off his tennis shoes and putting down his bag. He had changed back into jeans and a t-shirt after everyone had left.
“Riah, is that you?”
“Yeah, I’m home,” he said coming into the living room. Emily, Grams’ nurse, sat in jeans and a white t-shirt on the long white couch, knitting something that looked like a sock. Grams was in her flannel pajamas sitting in her favorite recliner. She smiled as he entered the room.
“Emily, it’s my grandson Riah. He’s a writer,” she said proudly.
“So I’ve heard…” Emily smiled and continued knitting.
“She knows, remember Grams? She’s been helping out for a while now,” A.J. corrected her. Grams didn’t notice as she went back to watching the game.
Emily seemed to be used to it. “How was the party?”
“It wasn’t a party, it was a book launch,” he felt the need to correct her in front of Grams.
Emily laughed. “Was there music, food and frivolity?” she asked.
“If you count lame elevator-esque music playing in the background, stale munchies and crazy people fighting about their places in line, then sure, there was music, food and frivolity.”
“Then it was a party.” Emily and A.J. laughed. He subtly gestured toward the kitchen. Emily put down her knitting and followed him out of the room.
“How was she today?” he asked quietly, looking over Emily’s shoulder and seeing Grams’ eyes glued to the TV.
“She was a little confused after you left but not more than usual.” Saturdays and Sundays were his only real days with Grams, so she was probably confused as to why he was at some party instead of with her. “We went grocery shopping and had some soup for supper. She took a bath and then turned on some baseball.”
“Royals?” he asked already knowing the answer.
“Yep, she reminded me more than once that they were going to play tonight at seven.”
“Baseball is the one thing she never forgets,” A.J. smiled and shook his head.
“Well, that and you,” Emily smiled genuinely.
“Thanks,” A.J. blushed. “So, how’s what’s-his-name, your fiancĂ©?”
“His name is John,” she replied, smacking him on the shoulder. “That’s not simple enough for you to remember?”
“Alzheimer’s runs in the family,” he joked. Emily glared. “Right, how’s John?”
“He’s fine. Busy working as usual.”
“At the granola factory?”
“It’s not a granola factory; it’s a vegan grocery store.”
“Same thing. Is he ever gonna make his way out here to marry you? You’re getting kind of old. I don’t want you to end up an old maid.”
“Twenty-six is far from being an old maid. I think I can manage to last another summer ‘til he’s out here for good.” Emily smirked and crossed her arms across her chest. “What about Kate? I haven’t seen her around here lately.”
A.J. flushed red. “Kate and I are just friends.”
“So you keep saying,” Emily arched an eyebrow. “But there’s totally something going on there.”
“Is not,” he replied, his voice higher than usual.
Emily smiled and let him off easy, they’d been down that road before. “How’d it go with the reporters tonight?”
He thought about lying but Emily had been around long enough to know when he was telling the truth. “Not so good. Some reporter, Sarah Chase something or other, asked about Mom and Dad.”
“Sarah Chase Cameron? Reporter for The Times?” he nodded. “She doesn’t do literary reviews, she writes for the crime desk. Her stories are almost always above the fold!” A.J. looked at her amused. “What?” she asked. “I’m not a baseball fan and I have to do something while your Grams stares at the TV. I wonder why she was there.”
“I don’t know but I don’t like it. Kate has a bad feeling about her.”
“Oh, you and Kate talk about your feelings, huh?” She tried to turn the conversation back.
“Shut-up!” He turned red again.
“I gotta go anyway,” she smiled. She went to the living room and started packing up her stuff. “Bye Margaret,” Emily smiled. Grams looked over from the TV and waved.
“Goodbye Emily.”
“See ya Monday?” asked A.J.
“Bright and early. Get some sleep kid,” she replied, patting him on his head on her way to the door. A.J. dropped into the blue lounge chair, pulled the lever and put his feet up. The blue chair was his, the green was hers. Between them sat an end table complete with an old fashioned lamp, a pile of mystery novels, and a newspaper folded over to the sports TV listings.
“How are our boys doing tonight? Did I miss anything good?”
“It’s almost over. I think we’re winning.” The commercial break ended and the game picked up at the 8th inning.
“Yep, we have 7, they have 5.”
“Good.”
“Yep, that’s good.” The rest of the night was silent, A.J. too afraid to tell Grams what had happened at the book launch. The last thing he needed was more drama.
After the game ended with the score still 7-5, A.J. put Grams to bed then returned to the living room for his usual routine to prepare for the next day. He erased the dry-erase board leaning against the TV stand and pulled out the marker. “Today is Sunday, September 20th. 10 AM – church 12 PM – lunch 6 PM – supper.” He emptied Grams’ hospital-issued water bottle into the sink, put it in the dishwasher and hit ‘start’. He set out a measured amount of oatmeal next to the microwave and removed the used filter from the coffee pot. Then he checked the pill box to make sure Emily had filled them. After he recycled today’s paper he turned off the light and retired to his own bedroom.

After he recycled today’s paper he turned off the light and retired to his own bedroom.
another pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use, i'm on a roll!

Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin' and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive...
Crazy crazy day. I thought 9-12, you know, whatever. Nope. 9-12 bookdrop, lists and shelving. PS - SENSEI is BACK! And rockin' it. With a bedazzled cast. Now who could have provided those...hmmm... looks vaguely familiar. Not mine. Haven't had a cast since grade school. Ace bandages and braces don't count, right?
Okay, 9-12 there, ate lunch at the apartment while finishing/posting my homework, then headed back to my old stomping grounds. It's weird going back now. Which is funny, because it never used to feel that way. I loved high school. With a passion. How many people can say that honestly? It's part of the reason that I hated college. With a passion. It wasn't high school. It wasn't the same. Dorms didn't count. But I loved the school and the sports and the drama productions and the people and the choirs and the teachers - it was fantastic. And going back for Homecoming was just a natural thing, great to see everyone again. Now it's like, ehhh. I think I'm beyond the years of going just to go. I think it'd have to be a reunion thing. Although we know what happened with that...
ANYWAY, so I went back and watched Squirt and Bubby kick some volleyball butt and of course got talked into being a line judge. By the same dude who talked me into night patrol at camp. He's just so freaking persuasive that you don't see it coming. So I couldn't cheer even though - okay i ain't saying who were the best people out on the court. if they happened to be a tall chick with orange streaks in her hair and a short blonde who's nicknames just happened to be Squirt and Bubby, then that's just the way it is. That's not nepitism. That's fact. You'd agree if you had seen the game.
But Squirt is not an actual squirt. She's taller than me. And in 8th grade. So when it comes to being dominant in sports she takes the cake. Cause no matter how hard they hit it, if it comes in her direction she'll just smack it down on their heads. Cause they're tiny. Our team included. My favorite part was our first point, she set it to Bubby who spiked it over. It was fantastic. But I couldn't cheer! Cause I was a freaking unbiased line judge. Mean. I was tempted to do the Willems point and pose method, but I passed. Cause, like I said, time has passed and no one would know what the heck I was referring to. Unless he still does it. Which I guess is highly possible.
After that we ran like The Flash to get out of there cause Bubby had football practice and they were going to be late. So hit up my apartment, then Barnes and Noble where I found not one, not two, but three freaking different cover copies of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I mean I know that Halloween is coming up and all that, but still.
Same book, different prices.
Check these.

The first is a pop-up book. I know! I was intrigued...The fourth is my copy. Yes, those are my lucky charms in the background. Anthology's are awesome. Is it anthologies or anthology's? I'm going with the apostrophe. It seems safer. No idea why. But that's what you use when you're a lit major reading eight classic novels a month.
Speaking of anthology's, picked up H.G. Wells' seven novels in one book today as well. The real H.G. Wells, not the Warehouse version. although if Jaime Murray were to write a book I'm sure I would read it. And review it. And make you all read it. Because she's just that awesome. OMG, Jane Lynch's biography is out and in stores now, huzzah! Coming to a library near you?
After the joy that is shopping for books and realizing that I've shelved over half of that store, headed for the brewery, ordered some awesome food - I'm super stoked for my leftovers. Thinking of pulling them out now, but going to put that off until around 2 or 3AM. Yes, small children sleep more than I do. Get over it. But I love my family and the food was awesome so tonight was fun. Interesting conversations though. Our server was charming and handsome and had no ring - is that part of the single life, that you just check for that automatically? Which, I guess, technically that doesn't work anyway since I wear a ring on that finger that looks like it could be one but really isn't. So that method is totally totally not...what's the word I'm looking for? correct? ACCURATE. let's go with that. But mine scares off the creepers at work so I'm okay with it. Anyway, Second Sister ordered a drink and he goes
"You do know there's no liquor in that."
"You do know that I'm pregnant right?"
apparently he had offended women in the past so he's more careful now. Wise man.
PS - Smo, T-Magic was there. And it was hilarious because Second Sister - who's just not a fan of football whatsoever - goes "who?"
The guy, eating a burger, and facing us.
The old guy with the glasses?
No, he's neither eating a burger nor facing us.
And more fun conversations were basically...just... You can definitely tell we're related - although Sarah wanted to fool the server into putting our bill together claiming that she's having my baby. To see the reaction. Which was weird. But okay. Because we had been joking with him all night. He got a big tip.
Moving on, just one-liners are just, they stick with you. You know? And I've added a certain few into a catagory I like to call: "Conversations I could never have with my mother". I love my mom. But there are just things that we don't talk about. I think it's the age gap. But for Oldest Sister and Squirt, she's like the cool mom who's into everything and all that.
"Did you talk to a boy?"
"No...I stared at his butt."
There are more, but I don't think that I should repeat them.
Then, in the parking lot, oh my god, have you ever had one of those parking spots where you're surrounded and you're like, okay i'm in, but i'm never going to get out of here without hitting something! and then you come out to your car and that area is completely deserted except for your car? ME NEITHER!!! Ever! But tonight it was, I was stoked. We should do late dinner more often. Less waiting and better parking lot leave-age.
Wow, what a ramble. Should like zen out and sleep now.
Tomorrow is going to be a loooonnnnng day. Two halfdays in a row, I'm getting used to napping and watching Charlie's Angels. Tomorrow is going to be a wakeup call, in more ways than one.
I get to be a mom. Sort of. For a night. ish. Oldest Sister is leaving me her two children and I get the joys of running them and their friends to sporting and social events.
But it's only for a night. So don't get any ideas about this happening with me any time soon. Unless you want your grandchildren to be named "the Chad" and "Batgirl".

I'm the butler, I like to keep the kitchen tidy.
I love that someone typed "exploded babysitter" into google and got to my blog. That's fantastic. Also amusing, another person's search for "O Lord of Light" ended up with 2G's version. Hope we didn't scar them for life.
Wore my 2G shirt to work today. Well, tonight anyway. I usually wear jeans and a nice shirt if I'm headed to the main branch since I'm like a professional there. Or para-professional. Their words not mine. This is why I love camp. Got back to my roots and wore t-shirts and sport shorts the whole time. That's the actual me. I used to wear tear-aways, t-shirts and a backwards hat every day to school for years. This whole jeans and a nice shirt thing is like prom to me. Every day. Which is why it's nice to throw in a superhero shirt or funny reference one every once in a while when I'm just an Aide.
Besides, I've learned not to wear those shirts at the other branch. If they're going to stare at my chest I would rather them do it in silence and get it over with instead of staring and overwhelming me with conversation about the symbol emblazoned across my chest. That's just awkward.
Staff meeting this morning where my Koha Whisperer thing was made known. Now I'm just nervous they're going to ask me actual questions. Go to someone smart. I'm just a cronie. After that it was covering at the other branch while they had their staff meeting. Okay, I'm calling favorite cause at which branch does she bring pizza to a staff meeting? Yeah. But I got two pieces. Cause it's my branch too. And it was my lunch hour. And that branch is obsessed with all things bread. I blame Space Cadet. Her baking skills got us hooked. They're constantly finding recipes in books and trying to bribe her into making them. It's amusing. She says she'll slip me a few easy recipes that I won't burn down my apartment with. That should be interesting.
After all that fun it was lunch hour - yes a whole hour! that I didn't have to spend finding parking! - so I ran back to the apartment and watched Bonekickers - "like graveyard jenga down here" c'mon you knew that was coming - then went back for three hours and shelved in my bright orange shirt. Joe Studley said I needed to turn it down. It's that bright. I'm proud. Then dinner with Second Sister, got my leftovers in the fridge! I'm stoked for chicken tikka and rice at 3AM. Yes, small children sleep more than I do, get over it.
Then we hit up Barnes and Noble which...okay I used to make fun of it because it was a big bookstore and then they started selling all this other crap and I was like, "get that out of my bookstore!" Now I work at a library, so they can sell whatever they want. Anyway, so I go in, and okay, remember how I'm a nerd. And I got a raise. So what does a nerd do when they get a raise? They buy a wand. That lights up. And is awesome.
Yes a raise. It's interesting in these budget times but I'll take it. Another fun work thing - got my year evaluation! Which is amusing cause I still haven't gotten my 6 month one yet. Again, I'll take it. As long as he doesn't say that I suck. Which, I don't think I do. People are generally glad when I'm there. But I'm a nerd and make them laugh so maybe that's part of it.
Anyway, right, so in between the chicken tikka and the wand-buying was the driving from place to place and I pulled out of the parking lot following her and she's driving and suddenly pulls in the parking lot and starts waving all frantic and flailing. "Why are you following me?!" She was lost. And technically I live like less than a few miles from the place so I guess it would make more sense if I were to lead. So, I led, and got us on the right road and I'm calling Oldest Sister to see if she can meet us and I see Second Sister pass me in the lane next to me. I was like, "What?! She's in the wrong lane!" like chanting it, "She's in the wrong lane, she's in the wrong lane" all while being on the phone with Second Sister when we pull up to the stoplight and she turns...which makes me realize that it was me in the wrong lane. It's another one of those zombie moments, you know when you're driving on a road you take often but to a different destination and you're just used to driving to that place. Anyway, she turned but I was able to switch lanes and turn behind her. Meanwhile Oldest Sister was probably making fun of me the whole time.
OH! BTW - she has threatened to come to my apartment and steal a piece out of all my puzzles. That's just mean. I don't need any help from you to not finish the thing.
"Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?!"
"You don't need any help from me sir."
"That's right!"
name that movie. if you were at camp you'd be all over it.
I blamed my poor sense of direction on being on the phone. "I can only remain sane when not involved in actual conversation." quote of the day. true story.
It was a Lily Allen kind of day. Yes, I've posted a lot of hers since she's my favorite, here are a few new ones.

these are both two of her biggest hits, yes she's british but she's awesome. we like british people, they're cool and have fun accents.
