"If, however, it was pink with jewels on it and had a dog inside of it then that would make you a girly girl. I would call you Paris Hilton."
Okay, so I have this bag. That I put stuff in like my wallet and datebook and pens and all that. People keep calling it my purse.
It's not a purse. It's a bag. Cause I don't own purses, I own bags. Mostly messenger bags. While this specific bag may be shaped like a purse, it is not a purse because I don't own purses. Which means it's a bag.
Did you get all that?
Can you hear me clucking, big chicken?
Anyway, the boyfriend decided to tease me about it tonight but then made up for it by saying it was okay for it to be a purse because it's black and not pink and bedazzled.
So I remain non-girly-girl-ish.
Which is my goal in life.
Another goal in life? Graduate! Had another practicum session this afternoon. That brings me to 38/90 on the Practicum Count-up. I think this is my favorite class - aside from Special Libraries and Teen Materials of course - because it's hands on experience so it doesn't feel like homework. Plus the actual homework is like a page summary that due at the end of each month and then that's it.
Just finished mine in about 20 minutes. Woohoo!
After practicum I headed out to see the boyfriend. We had a lazy night. Went out for pizza then spent most of the night driving around, buying donuts, and jamming out on the porch swing.
I know, we're so exciting. But it was good, and much needed relaxation. Tomorrow night will be just the opposite.
Remember how my dad turned 70? Well, we're throwing him a surprise birthday party and apparently almost everyone I know and/or have met at some point in my life is going to be there.
Which means it's kind of a big deal. But amusing at the same time because when the whole surprise party thing was first brought up it was followed closely by, "is it smart to surprise a 70-year-old like that?"
Apparently we don't care cause we're throwing one anyway.
The funny thing is that even though it's a surprise I don't have to worry about posting about it online because my dad is the biggest luddite you will ever meet so he won't even notice. He has never used a computer. He knows how to use his cellphone but not well enough to check his voicemail. Actually his outgoing message is just my Mom saying "don't leave him a voicemail cause he doesn't know how to check it." Now we have one of those smart combines that you have to enter all the information into the computer and then it drives for you. Guess it took him a whole day to figure out.
My brother loves it cause he can nap.
Just what I want to hear when it's my farm land he's napping on.
Anyway, so I don't have to worry about him finding out this way.
Although I'm wondering if he already knows. As mentioned basically everyone he knows is going to be there. And he's smart. Which is why we had to throw him that fake party at the cabin earlier in the month. It'll be interesting to see his reaction.
But I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm out. Totally zonked, though it is 2AM so that would explain things. Yeah, I know it says 11:50 but 99% of the posts on here say that and it's always crap.
Well, except for that one weird time when it was actually 11:50. Had to do a special "holy holy crap" tag for that one.
On to the music.
Hotel California - Eagles
So we've progressed from the Beach Boys to the Eagles during our sorting sessions of practicum. guess he's going to see them live. wondering what will be next on our list. i'm thinking...Beatles. or Elton. i'm going to see him live, i'd be good jamming to Bennie and the Jets.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

"Who buries a tank?"
Bonekickers. It's actually not that bad, even though it got terrible reviews. It's actually kind of amusing at times. Hooray for the BBC. "Result!"
Made some more progress on my jP project with Space Cadet. We're basically going through and making sure they're all ours which takes forever since our name isn't on all of the spine labels so you have to open them up and look in the back. First we did Z-P, today was started on A-E. Basically we started at the end because neither one of us wanted to do the B's. Berestain, Brown, Bridwell, Bourgeois, Bemelman. But I got sick of going backwards so I braved the wild and started at the beginning. And I found one that wasn't ours, almost did a dance! I think I did do a dance actually. But we're trying to get it all sorted before summer reading starts because after that starts it would be hopeless with all the kids going through all the time.
Now I'm headed to my sisters to reclaim my title as foosball champion and watch basketball. I fell behind on my bracket, I hope Duke picked it up last night or I'm toast. Oh well, NC and KS are still in it. I think. Like I said, behind.
Song for the night "How Long" by the Eagles
my dad would be so proud.
it's been stuck in my head so Tada! Here's the live performance from the CMA's in 2007.

"You get the jerky, I'll get the nuts."
So I was actually productive today. Shocker for a day off. I got to see my best friend this weekend, hooray! We watched a movie that we both don't remember the plot - I totally konked out of the couch.
Then I got my car registered, it didn't take as long as I thought it would. But I'm just comparing it to what it looks like in the movies and how the lines are so long. Apparently they usually are but at 10:30ish there's kind of a break. There you go, Tip #1, if forced to go to the DMV, do so more than an hour after opening but more than an hour before lunch. Everyone tries to fit it in in the morning or during their lunch hour.
Then I met up with my sisters and got a lot of christmas shopping done. We went to like four places that were on completely different sides of town. Madness. But awesome. It's exciting, I love christmas. And now I have the kids - aka my nieces and nephews - done so all I have left are the brothers and sisters plus my parents. And my cat. But he's not picky. I'll buy him treats and he'll love me forever.
So I bought a lot of books, legos, mario brothers stuff, crafty things and clothing. The hardest part was carrying everything all the way up the stairs in my apartment by myself. I got everything in one trip which was ridiculous but it's freezing outside and I seriously just wanted to be done.
Now I just have the adults to worry about. They're harder than the kids. My sisters usually give me hints or tell me what they want, but what do you get for grown men for christmas? Like brothers-in-law? Other than like socks, which is usually what my mom does. And like pajama pants or something. Sarah says to get her husband "snacky" foods. That's her word not mine. (that's where the title came from.) Which I guess is easy enough and every year I get my other b-i-l coffee from starbucks - like a set of coffee beans, he likes the ethiopian blend - so maybe I'll do that again.
Then there's the parentals. Mom always says she doesn't need anything. And Dad I'm never sure about but I want to get them something good because I just got a car with a lot of their help. They are hard to buy for. But I look forward to the challenge.
Now I'm exhausted. We were all over the place today, hence the tired ramblings. I'm gonna konk out here again soon. Hope you all had a great Monday.
"Cause you were just too busy being fabulous..." That's an actual song? Really? I had never heard of it until today in Sarah's van. Seriously?
