Huzzah for a day off.
Yes I slept in but I was actually very productive.
Tested out that robot vacuum - Carter hates it, I'm gonna come home and it's gonna be in a pile in the corner - went grocery shopping - found a bunch of pop substitutes and am testing them out - wrote all my thank you cards - both graduation and Christmas - and did a bunch of laundry.
Also watched a marathon of America Unearthed.
Archaeologist obsessed with this hooked X mark.
Knights Templar.
Holy Grail.
Ark of the Covenant and all that.
My thought is if he wanted them to be found they would be found.
Plus what would happen to them if they're ever found?
Anyway, so far my pop substitutes are different types of flavored water.
I tried Nestle's wild berry Pure Life splash - it's nasty, avoid that.
So far Propel Zero berry is pretty good but we'll see how long that lasts.
I also got a limeade type of Propel Zero and a strawberry limeade generic Target brand.
Again, we'll see how long they last. Lots of other options out there.
Anyway, I feel accomplished. My apartment is clean, my fridge is stocked, my cat is happy cause the robot is back in its corner...
I swear I'm gonna come home and it's gonna be in pieces. Although I thought that about the Furby too and that's still in existence.
He just hates vacuums period. Every time I clean he runs.
Oh I also fixed my bed.
Yeah, forgot to mention that I broke that last night.
Rolled over and BOOM.
Pretty sure it woke the neighbors.
Sorry about that.
But it happens all the time. The problem is that the frame isn't actually attached to the headboard. And the only thing that keeps the mattress from the ground are boards lying across the frame. So when any of those shift they pop out and I'm on the floor.
It's problematic, but I think I fixed it.
For now that is.

Oh, while writing my thank you's I finally got around to watching Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters
Is it me or does Sloan Sloan play the same character in everything she's in? Cocky, obnoxious, spoiled... Grey's Anatomy, Hunger Games, now this? Can't wait to see what's next.

Yay for a day off.
Slept in, it was marvelous.
But was productive too, did a bunch of laundry, went grocery shopping and did some xmas shopping as well.
Plus my stockings are now hung and all that.
Carter spent the day staring at Yoda.
Either he is thinking: what the crap is with the tiny green man hanging from the bookshelf - or - he remembers what Yoda held last year and he's waiting for me to look away so he can pull it down and search for toys.
He's spoiled.
Just a little.
Anyway, after the cleaning and shopping I headed out to see the boyfriend. We went to see 12 Years a Slave.
Scale of Awesome says 6/10. It was good, nothing I'd want to see again, but pretty good. I was interested in the story - horrified at moments - but there were other moments when it dragged on - it would stay on a character after a big scene and they would be just standing there for like 2 minutes extra for dramatic effect.
Anyway, after that we watched a couple of episodes of Best Funeral Ever.
Yes, that's a real show and it's ridiculous.
The ones we saw where a Hollywood themed one where they took the casket to the movie theater and a game show themed one where they spun the casket on top of a giant wheel.
On to the clips, going with them instead of music tonight, though technically they are made up of music so they count.

Just one of those things that gets sweeter with time.
For once I was nothing but productive on a day off.
Usually when I clean my apartment it's because I'm avoiding homework.
Now I have no homework to avoid so I had to force myself into it.
But I was up.
Since 8AM.
On a day off.
I know.
Sucked.
But I guess it was worth it.
Met up with my sisters for lunch, shopped a bit in the afternoon, then cleaned the rest of the day.
Literally, the rest of the day.
Mopped, dusted, vacuumed, scrubbed, all that.
I think I've mopped like 3 times since I've moved in.
Don't give me that look, it's not like there's a lot to mop.
And I keep it clean.
But today was extreme, even changed out my shower curtain.
Think I'm good for a while.
Tomorrow it's back to work so I should crash.
Exhausted.
I know, I'm boring. I'm sorry. But it was a very big day for me.

Stick it in your pointy ear.
Okay first up, watch this:

Craziness.
Today was good. Slept in, went to church then out to eat with Oldest Sister and family. Watched Bubby play some basketball, did a ton of Xmas shopping - almost done, not really - then headed out to see the boyfriend for dinner and a movie.
Star Wars 6. Classic.
The boyfriend thinks it's weird I get my groceries at Target. But it's one-stop shopping! Where do you get yours? Don't say. HyVee. I have yet to run into any helpful smiles in those aisle. Or at least the one in my neighborhood. And I can never find anything. In Target I know exactly where everything is.
Actually proud of myself for being productive with the shopping. Finished with Mom, Squirt, and most of Second Sister and brother's families. Others I have no clue where to start. But I'll keep looking.
In honor of Star Wars tonight's music selections are some of my favorite parodies.

Yo no soy David Wozniak.
Huzzah for a day off.
Slept in - it was fabulous - did some homework - only 2 assignments left - ran some errands - still need to buy pop though, forgot about that - and then it was date night with the boyfriend.
We went out for supper and then saw Delivery Man.
It was alright. Scale of Awesome says 7/10. Good, but not something I need to buy and watch over and over.
After that we watched some Big Bang Theory and Pawn Stars. Guess which one was my choice. And then he headed off to work. Only 2 nights left for him and only 2 days left for me until a couple off. Huzzah for the holidays. Actually looking forward to Thanksgiving. Good food and fun with the family. Should start working on my Xmas list though so I have something to give them.
I'm hoping it doesn't turn out to be such an "adult" one like last year.
And when I say "adult" I mean boring.
Luggage.
Bookcase.
Vacuum.
Curtains hung.
I feel like there was more but I don't remember.
Alright, I should crash. Work and last day at the internship tomorrow. Gonna be a sad day.

Ah, a day off.
And I have Friday off too so this is just weird.
But good weird.
Slept in - but only 'til like 9 so that doesn't really count - did some research on BISAC and then went out the library in Mayberry to interview their director because they use the BISAC method.
Because apparently I'm an adult and need to do adult things like interview important people.
And I thought it might help to talk to someone who's actually went through the transition process.
We're lucky though because there's nothing to transition because we're starting from scratch.
Anyway, the interview went well. Learned a lot about the process and examples of subject headings. After the interview she showed me around the building. They're doing a lot of construction and opening up the basement to the public so there were workmen everywhere.
After the interview came back and took a nap.
It was glorious.
Attempted to watch GI Joe #2 but chose instead to fall asleep around the halfway point.
I'll finish the rest later.
Then the boyfriend came over, we watched the rest of Mr. & Mrs. Smith before he headed back to go to work.
I hate that we work different shifts. And live an hour apart. Totally kills datenight having a deadline like that.
Classes start this week so after he left I posted to the discussion board. There are 23 of us but I was the first one to post. So that's a good sign for me, I think. Tomorrow is also my first day of practicum so I'll work in the morning and then head over there in the afternoon. A little nervous. But he's completely laid back so it's more about the environment than the boss.
After that is dinner with the Cool Aunt as we haven't done that in a while. Jalapeno margaritas - it's gonna be awesome.
Alright, all I got for today.

Don't go Jason Waterfalls.
Have you ever went through a carwash and felt like you were in a hidden camera TV show?
So, I decided that my car is covered in bugs - well, I didn't decide that, it actually just is - and I went to get it washed. I put in my money and drove forward and it starts beeping at me to drive backward. So I did, then it said drive forward then it beeped again and told me to go backward.
This proceeded to happen at least 5 times, the whole time I'm thinking alright where is the freakin' camera and crew? So I just drove out, talked to the people at the gas station and was like, wtf? And they went, it's touchy, here's a code go try it again.
Same thing. At least 5 times.
Said screw it again, went back in and they gave me cash back and yet another code.
This time it worked after only one of those reverse/forward cycles.
And the car is still covered in bugs.
Cause apparently - according to Kitzworld - Nebraska bugs are on steroids.
This is in the middle of an already stress-filled day off.
Decided to get up around 10AM and work on some homework.
Soon 10AM turned into 5PM and I was like, I gotta take a break. So I went grocery shopping bought Warehouse 13 season four - woohoo! - did the carwash thing and then came back to do even more homework.
Amidst all the homework were 4 frantic camp phone calls and 5 frantic camp emails. My life would be so much easier if people actually turned in their forms by July 1st and then actually went with their assignments.
Camp is in two weeks. My homework is due in two weeks. I feel like I don't even have time to go to work because there's so much to do!
So I'm calling it quits for the night.
I did two assignments worth of stuff plus sent in my practicum learning plan AND got my comps stuff in the mail - ugh, October's gonna suck - plus did all that camp stuff.
This one of those we love camp italic moments mentioned here.
I still have 3 assignments left to do.
But I quit for the night.
So, as a distraction for the crapsuck that was today, here is a preview for a movie of awesomeness.
I wanted to see if before the preview even came out.

basically he's a drug dealer and needs a cover family to smuggle stuff.
it looks highly entertaining and yes that is Molly Quinn aka Alexis Castle.

no i couldn't help but fall in love again.
The half hour lunches suck, but they make two weekdays off worth it.
That was today.
Slept in, watched X-Games, did laundry and dishes.
Though my apartment still smells like smoke.
Attempted to spray stuff, overpower it with other food smells, but it's never ending.
Ideas?
At least the hallways are clear.
Maybe I need to air it out some more.
Went out to see the boyfriend tonight and we went to my TRUE MOTHERSHIP.
aka the Dormmom's fireworks stand.
Got the essentials, but still haven't done inventory on last year's stuff so I have a feeling I'm going to be flailing back closer to the date.
The boyfriend was impressed that I spent like half the amount of money I spent last year. But I do have the Missouri stuff too. Though I didn't get much there, just stuff I couldn't get here.
Thinking about doing fireworks at the farmhouse like last year. Parade in the morning and all that.
Sister and her family won't be there - which sucks - but that's okay. We'll have enough to cover.
Hopefully the boyfriend will be able to make an appearance as he will be working.
After fireworks we watched Broken City.
Marky Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kyle Chandler.
It was...interesting.
Was confused most of the time, but I guess it might be entertaining if you're into political drama.

i can be late for a date that's fine but you better be on time.
Ah, a day off.
But I was actually quite productive.
Slept in, awesomeness.
Okay, so that wasn't very productive, but I got better.
Went out to lunch with Mom. Stopped by to see Grams on our way to lunch, she was having a good day so we jammed for a while.
Got chicken fried steak plus hashbrowns and eggs - is chicken-fried steak just a hick thing or do other cultures deep fry anything just because they can too? And I got a slice of pie as well, gotta love small local businesses.
Took half of it home, thinking about pulling it out now.
After lunch we went shopping for a bookcase - a big one.
Cause librarians accumulate books.
Even though you can get them for free every day you will buy them anyway.
But I have piles of them everywhere and it keeps expanding.

Even with Carter attempting to sabotage me.
I had to keep going into the kitchen so he'd follow me - cause when I go in there he thinks he's getting food - and get off my shelves.
Then I'd come back and he'd sit on it again.
You laugh but it's true.

Almost caved in.
Before this whole sabotage thing I went to watch my niece play softball. She struck a girl out, threw out another and stole a bunch of bases so I was proud.
I remember playing on that field - and what's funny is that I recognized all of their cheers.
It was in that moment that it all made sense - I was on that team like 15 years ago.
I mean, we were the Slammers, not the Heat, and we had difference coaches but it's the same small town team in the same league and we did all those cheers so they must have been passed down through generations.
Which made me feel old, but that's true for all my nieces and nephews.
Speaking of which, my nephew is now officially taller than me.
And his sister.
Who's also very tall.
He's so excited.
And that was my day in a nutshell.
Well, that and a foosball table.
Remember how I mentioned earlier about maybe having the parentals store it?
Mom came up with the suburban and we had to carry it down - awkwardly - the stairs.
Though that wasn't as bad as the bookcase which was heavier and longer so corners were awkward.

Went out to lunch with Mom. Stopped by to see Grams on our way to lunch, she was having a good day so we jammed for a while.
Got chicken fried steak plus hashbrowns and eggs - is chicken-fried steak just a hick thing or do other cultures deep fry anything just because they can too? And I got a slice of pie as well, gotta love small local businesses.
Took half of it home, thinking about pulling it out now.
After lunch we went shopping for a bookcase - a big one.
Cause librarians accumulate books.
Even though you can get them for free every day you will buy them anyway.
But I have piles of them everywhere and it keeps expanding.

when we step out of the shadows and into the sun
Yay for a day off!
Slept in, went running - I know, you're all in shock - and worked on camp stuff.
Patron recommended Doc Martin - which is yet another amusing British series - so I had that playing in the background.
So far it's pretty funny.
And it has Ash in it from Murder In Suburbia, which was my last British craze.
Ended after only two seasons, far too soon.
This one has like 4.
Or the library owns 4 at least. We'll see how long it lasts. Right now I'm only a couple of episodes in.
And then at 6 was the last class of the semester. Listened to the last two people present on diversity stuff.
Excited to officially be done until June.
Actually have time to do stuff now after work.
All-in-all a good day.

I'm going to grandma's house and I'm bringing an abactor.
Now that's what I call a day off.
Grad school meeting this morning.
Comps review.
I don't take them 'til the fall but that's part of GA duties.
Met at a coffee shop, of course.
Got my usual chai tea latte in a to-go-cup.
Was there fairly early so played some hearts and jammed out in the corner.
After the meeting I came back, made some stir fry for lunch - okay so I poured a bag of stir fry into the skillet, heated it and then ate it but that counts as making it, right? - watched GI Joe - cause I will at some point see the sequel - and then took a nap.
It was glorious.
After that I turned on the SVU marathon - they have those a lot on USA, on the weekends its always either that or NCIS - added a fun word game to Facebook and did some writing.
The word game has exploded, thanks to some fun friends. Basically I say a statement and then a person says what's already on the list and then adds something of their own in alphabetical order.
So I started with: I'm going to grandma's house and I'm bringing an abactor.

But I'm not allowed to post them until I send physical copies to Sketch.
Or she would drive all the way out here just to beat me up.
Then get in the car and drive back so she could teach the next day.
Apparently her boyfriend, whom I shall call Plant Man - which makes sense but only if you've read Sketch and Edit's - found the SnE binder but she wouldn't let him see it.
Good plan.
Though they are all on here.
I should make a master list post with them all linked.
In order.
They're so scattered on here you'd have to dig through a bunch of pages just to find them.
And they go in spurts.
As I said, have to wait until I mail her some and I usually don't until I have a bunch.
Right now I have 4.
2 of which I'm still working on.
Well, I keep changing the others ones too.
But that's my fatal writing flaw, I'm always going back and fixing things.
Cause I don't like them.
And I never let anyone read my stuff, unless it's for a class.
But that was part of the deal. I had to write her stuff or she wouldn't draw me pictures anymore.
And thus Sketch and Edit was born.
And that was my day.
Oh, I did talk to Sketch for a couple hours tonight as well.
And the boyfriend is driving and will be home late late late tonight.
Which means I get to see him tomorrow.
Woohoo!

Now I'm watching Bloopers.
I really hate Dean Cain.
He's so obnoxious.
And the hidden camera stuff makes me cringe.
But it's the closest to World's Dumbest I can get.
Without actually owning Tru TV.
Yep, gonna have to go up one so I can get Big Ten as well.
Alright, like I said, I'm boring so I'm gonna post some music and then crash.

I was totally productive today.
Even on my day off.
You'd be proud.
Picked up the boyfriend's car from the train station - Oldest Sister drove me and gave me a cookie for breakfast.
Set up a dentist's appointment for May - you know how much I hate those with my history.
But so far, not famous at this office.
At least not to my knowledge.
So that's something.

Watched like 3 discs of SVU season 13?
I think?
I don't know I've gotten them all through ILL but I've had this one requested since October. So it's whatever the latest season on DVD is.
Ya, 13.
I figured I'd hate it cause it doesn't have Stabler, but the new ones aren't so bad.
I would, however, protest if Benson quit.
Munch isn't in it as much. Did you know Richard Belzer's played that character in like 4 TV series?

Anyway, after my nap and SVU break I did a ton of homework.
Mostly for Diversity in Libraries.
Frustrating as it was.
We're in groups of 4 and we each had to come up with 5 African-American books, which we did last week, but today we had to look them up in these specific library catalogs to see if they own them - I had NY and Springfield - however in my libraries, unlike the others, they catalog the editions separately (which technically you're supposed to do because people look for certain editions of things) so I had to look in like 3 places and add everything together while everyone else had like 1 place and that's it.
Anyway, she didn't say if we were supposed to add up each edition or just do the 1 edition our group member picked or if we were supposed to add in the different formats and all that, just blah.
Whatever, it's done. And I'm content with it.
I think.
I'm content that it's done.
Let's go with that.
Now it's back to SVU.
I would do more homework but I'll actually have time to do that during the week since the boyfriend is in Seattle.
Next homework assignment is due on the 20th for Internet Reference, and then like the 9th or 10th of May for the final assignment. In Diversity next week we're discussion boarding - can I use that as a verb? - about this collection assignment and then we present our posters. I did mine on Diversity in Young Adult Programming.
But I have no idea how to present that on Blackboard Collaborate so I'll have to figure that out at some point. But that's the final for Diversity.
And then I'll be done until June when I take Foundations - 1 credit class I can finish in a day - and Library Systems which only lasts through June.
So I'll be free for camp, huzzah!
Speaking of camp, huzzah! We have our first meeting of 2013 tomorrow so I'll be headed out to G-Town after work.
Tomorrow's gonna be interesting because I have volunteers coming in from 9-1, then I'm off and headed to the meeting which is at 2:30, then I'm stopping by the farm because they're burning ground - which I'm sad I can't make it to cause I'm working instead.
Think I mentioned this, my siblings and I own land and are burning it to the ground to start over. We did that when we first got it too. The boys enjoyed smacking the fire with big flopper sticks and riding around it on four wheelers.
And I think there was beer and snacks involved at some point.
Can you say "redneck"?
Anyway, I'm bummed, but I can't exactly miss work cause they're my volunteers.
Well, they're UNL volunteers, but I'm in charge of them for the morning. They're going to be cleaning the computer lab - cause that gets done never - wiping down tables and chairs on 4th floor - cause that gets done never - dusting the reference shelves - cause that gets done never - and then whatever else my coworkers suggest that also never gets done.
Theme sensed?
Yeah.
So that'll be an interesting morning, and then I'm pumped for the camp meeting. It'll be the core group most likely aka myself, Obi-Wan, the Music Mentor (i'm hoping anyway), Pastor Blackstone, and Scuba Steve O, and maybe Josh.
One of these things is not like the other, I know.
But Josh actually is a nickname.
I think Obi-Wan and I are the only ones who call him Josh, everyone else calls him Pastor.
But he's not our Pastor so it's allowed.
I just remember showing up at teen camp after Obi and I went grocery shopping and he was there and I was like, "hey josh!" and he was like "FINALLY someone who doesn't call me Pastor!"
I'm stoked for camp already. Application sheets were made and will be approved at the meeting along with the budget, theme, menu and all that. If our Head Chef can make it that is.
Anyway, I should stop talking about camp now because you know if you get me started it's never ending so I'm going to put the computer down and back away slowly...

We give her crap cause her birthday's on the Ides of March.
Welcome to the world of twenty-five-dom.
Now you can feel old like the rest of us.
A day off, huzzah.
Needed one of those.
Slept in, did some cleaning, swapped a TV out with another TV.
Switched the one in my closet with the one in my bedroom. So now the one that was in the bedroom is on the dresser where the other one previous sat.
And these are like the old massive box style TVs so that was a bit of a workout.
But this one has a remote.
And I can plug both my PS2 and DVD player in it, whereas with the other one, it was bigger but there was no remote and I had to choose between my PS2 and DVD player.
After that my professor called - nightmare scheduling that one - and we talked about my final project. That I'm actually basically done with. She was shocked, apparently I'm the furthest along - score.
But it's a poster session, so basically we get one powerpoint slide and we have to put all of our information on it like an actual poster and then we'll have to present electronically, cause the class is all online. Curious as to how that's gonna work, but I guess we shall see.
After that I headed out to see the boyfriend. We ate and then went to see Identity Thief.
Which we wanted to see for a while, but were waiting for it to come to the theater out there. Usually the blockbusters aren't this delayed but they only have three screens.
Hilarious, 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome. I love Melissa McCarthy and find it humorous when her husband makes cameo appearances. They have a production company called On The Day, looking forward to their movies.
She's great, loved her since Gilmore Girls, which was long before her Bridesmaids fame. Which then led to Mike and Molly and then the whole Queen of Comedy thing. But she's hilarious and deserves it. I do love that she's the sane one in a family of crazies in Mike and Molly. Which is unusual cause in most of her roles she's the weird one.
Afterward we watched an episode of World Dumbest. I'm tempted to get the next package up with Dish just so I can get TruTV, I miss that show. Fell asleep watching it almost every night in college, love it.
Love it.
Alright, I'm off to sleep. Back to work tomorrow.

After that my professor called - nightmare scheduling that one - and we talked about my final project. That I'm actually basically done with. She was shocked, apparently I'm the furthest along - score.
But it's a poster session, so basically we get one powerpoint slide and we have to put all of our information on it like an actual poster and then we'll have to present electronically, cause the class is all online. Curious as to how that's gonna work, but I guess we shall see.
After that I headed out to see the boyfriend. We ate and then went to see Identity Thief.
Which we wanted to see for a while, but were waiting for it to come to the theater out there. Usually the blockbusters aren't this delayed but they only have three screens.
Hilarious, 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome. I love Melissa McCarthy and find it humorous when her husband makes cameo appearances. They have a production company called On The Day, looking forward to their movies.
She's great, loved her since Gilmore Girls, which was long before her Bridesmaids fame. Which then led to Mike and Molly and then the whole Queen of Comedy thing. But she's hilarious and deserves it. I do love that she's the sane one in a family of crazies in Mike and Molly. Which is unusual cause in most of her roles she's the weird one.
Afterward we watched an episode of World Dumbest. I'm tempted to get the next package up with Dish just so I can get TruTV, I miss that show. Fell asleep watching it almost every night in college, love it.
Love it.

I will wait, I will wait for you.
Huzzah for a day off.
Was actually semi-productive.
Remember the plan? Watch movies and do no homework?
Actually did some homework, so the reverse psychology worked.
Which is weird, but I'm not questioning it.
So yes, I did homework and laundry all the while thinking nothing about work work, which is what I needed.
And tomorrow is another break from the norm cause I'm taking my teens shopping for paperbacks.
Basically they pick out what they want the library to buy and put in the teen section and then they get snacks.
I know, right?! Awesomeness.
And then after that is margaritas with the Cool Aunt.
But today was good.
I did watch movies as well, so don't start questioning my sanity yet.
Not that you haven't before.
I have all these movies checked out so I made a pile of what I will actually watch and what sounded good at the time.
Cause you know you get all these titles and you put your name on the list and then they come in and you lack the motivation to watch them cause you didn't really have it to begin with, but you put your name down anyway just cause it was there.
You know those ones?
In my not watching pile is Hell On Wheels, the Odd Life of Timothy Green, ParaNorman, and Flight vs my still plan to watch pile which consists of Looper, Workaholics season one, Fargo, School of Rock and Murder in Suburbia. Two of which are Interlibrary Loan Items. And then of course my already in progress Mystery Science Theater 3000.
The one I did watch today was Trouble With the Curve which is now in my return pile on top of all the not watchings.
Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake. Had an interesting story, reminded me a bit of Moneyball actually. Not too bad, Scale of awesome puts it at about 7/10.
Clink Eastwood as Amy Adams' dad is just funny because they both have such strong personalities.
"You need some money for some new clothes?"
"I just came from yoga."
"You into that voodoo, huh?"
"Yeah, I'm thinking about getting three 6's tattooed across my forehead."
and who knew Justin Timberlake could clog so that was exciting.
So I watched that, three episodes of Bones - finally saw the roller derby episode, loved Angela as the jammer - one episode of NCIS, two episodes of Zero Hour - and am loving it - and then had Storage Wars on in the background while I did my homework. So I burned through some DVR as well which is good cause that fills up fast.
As what I have here didn't sound appetizing and I didn't feel like driving anywhere I ordered pizza for lunch.
Delivery dude always compliments my socks.
Same dude every time.
But for some reason I'm always wearing shorts so he can see my mismatched socks.
However, tomorrow I will need to go shopping cause I'm out of Diet Dr. Pepper and that's always the deal breaker. Been drinking all my bottled water with strawberry Mio in its absence. Now I'm out of that too and all that's left is liquor so I've been refilling them.
So tomorrow is grocery shopping, paperback buying, dinner with the Cool Aunt and then probably more homework before work work on Sunday.
On to the music and fiction.

Life of a Teenage Writer: Part Three
The red entryway was filled with piles of A.J.’s book, “Effaced” and its sequel “Nemesis.” There was a table and two chairs set up across from the main entryway. On the table were pictures, posters and pens to sign them. A.J. sat in one of the chairs but Kate stayed back, looking for Sarah Chase Cameron. She’d have a few choice words of the four letter variety for her once she found her.
It seemed that Charlie had found her first. They were talking animatedly about something before Charlie realized his star was at the table. He took the other chair and everyone began to line up. Sarah Cameron instructed her photographer to take a few shots, and then headed toward the front of the table. All eyes were on her and A.J. waiting to see what would happen. She smiled at A.J., who swallowed, signed her book, and looked at the next person in line. Sarah Cameron and her muscle-bound photographer left the scene quickly as Kate started towards them. They were locked in their car before she even made it to the front door.
After hours of signing autographs and taking pictures Charlie finally let him go home. Charlie drove off in his fancy car as Kate got in the passenger side of A.J.’s red Bonneville. There was a lot of silence which was unusual in their relationship. A.J. looked over at Kate and saw her staring out the window at the lights. The hour long drive to Middlebrook was going to seem even longer. He turned on the radio. As Baha Men blasted from the radio Kate remarked how ridiculous the song was and A.J. added that he was amazed that a song about dogs could give anyone a platinum album. After what seemed like an eternity, they made it back to their one stoplight town and pulled into Kate’s driveway. He talked her out of the car, saying he was fine and was just going to go to bed, but he could tell she didn’t believe him. She knew him too well. He drove off anyway and pulled into his driveway two blocks down. A.J. parked the car in the garage and went inside, the door closing behind him.
“Hello?” yelled an unsure voice. The TV volume was turned on loud so A.J. knew exactly where to go.

A Dothraki wedding without at least three deaths is considered a dull affair.
Got to sleep in today. Think I got up around noon.
Though "got up" is more like rolled over and turned on Game of Thrones.
On disc four now.
I can't decide if I like it or not.
I mean, the first episode was okay. But then the next few were like, eh.
But now it's back to being okay.
I think.
I don't know, I'm mostly watching it cause everyone else says it's good.
Well, "everyone" meaning people I actually listen to about these things.
So I feel like I should keep watching and give it a chance.
Oh well, if it sucks I still got my popsicles.
The joy of library DVD's. See, I used to buy stuff like this and if it sucked then I was stuck with it.
Though I don't remember that happening - oh no wait,
My Super Ex Girlfriend.
That one was awful.
Anyway, the joys of library stuff is that you can return it.
Well you have to return it, not can.
Though for some people that decide they'd rather rack up $3000 worth of fines it's more of a can.
I was semi-productive today.
Got to play hero to a damsel in distress.
aka Queen of Awesome when her car wouldn't start.
Picked her up and drove her home.
Got 2 points from Superwoman for the whole adventure.
Which gives me more points now than my mother.
She got 150 for sending an email with an attachment.
After I taught her.
Though Space Cadet is still ahead of me by like 23.
She got 150 for sending an email with an attachment - after I taught her how to do it - and then got 25 for something else.
But it's on.
As is Game of Thrones and I'm totally lost so I think I need to rewind a bit.
Oh and I paid rent.
So I'm calling it a productive day.

Day off = NCIS:LA, Napping, Homework, & Lords of the Realm 2
Was totally boring today, it was fantastic.
Slept in until noon, ate a peanut butter and banana sandwich cause they rock.
Watched NCIS: LA pretty much all day. Still am, in fact. Got season three from Target, I actually like the show now. Before I thought it was dumb cause it wasn't the original but now with Deeks it's not so bad.
Played some Lords of the Realm 2 on Kate cause she's XP and it won't work on Ziva with Vista. They need to remake that one. And Carmen Sandiego. That one is still wildly popular, they had the series, then the animated one, and they're in talks of making a movie but it still the old version from pre-2007 and you have to get in online cause it's not in stores.
Made some pasta stuff for supper, that also rocks.
Took a nap with my big fat cat. It's no wonder my back is messed up, I can't go a night without him sleeping on my stomach. It's both cute and obnoxious. Mentor suggests buying a heating pad and putting it elsewhere on the bed to see if he would sleep on top of that.
Finished all my homework for the week. Had a Reference assignment due tomorrow at midnight but as I'm headed out to see the boyfriend tomorrow night it was tonight or fail. Which is fine, I had planned it out earlier anyway and it's best not to procrastinate in grad school or it will kick your ass.
Now it's more NCIS: LA and sleep as tomorrow it's back to work.
But since I work the weekend I don't have to go in Monday until 4.
It feels so weird to actually stay home and work the weekend. I feel like I'm always going somewhere like class or the farm. I haven't been home home for a weekend in a while.
I know, I'm boring. I'm sorry. I'll have more to post about tomorrow.

Vienna waits for you.
Remember how I was so excited about having a day off and all the stuff I could do cause it was my day off which implied that there would be off-ness, meaning off of stress and off of work and off of people and off of just general life-ness.
You know, just off?
Spent my day "off" doing homework.
So now it's just more like off-balance cause all I did was read and post and read and post and read some more and post some more. And none of it is textbook reading, just online journals, which I was grateful for earlier cause it means it's less expensive and easier to access but I was at the point where I couldn't stand to stare at my screen any longer SO I took a shower, made a smoothie, and watched Battleship.
Whilst the movie itself was complete crap - I love Liam Neeson, I do, but it was so choppy scene-wise with really crappy dialogue, and seemed basically like "Battle: Los Angeles" but set in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and focused on the Navy instead of Marines - it re-upped my sanity because it was a break from my computer screen. Granted it was yet another screen but that one is bigger and farther away and didn't have written dialogue I had to follow along with.
Though I did learn that with their database system you can set it so it reads it to you and you can make them read it in an accent, so that part was enjoyable.
Anyway, Battleship gets about a 5/10 on the Scale of Awesome - it had its moments but they were few and far between.
Seriously, it is Battle: Los Angeles but on water, look at this:

Both have the two token females - aka one that's in the trenches and the other is the love interest
Both have one big named actor plus one semi-known actor and then a bunch of little people
Both involve aliens landing coming in gigantor ships
Both involve military members as the main characters
Both have cheesy looking aliens
Both have crappy dialogue
And Liam Neeson is in more of Clash of the Titans than he is in this - which means barely 10 minutes, but that's okay cause they made up for that in Wrath of the Titans.
And I can't take Rihanna seriously in an acting role, I'm sorry.
Okay, as I'm apparently quite rambly at the moment I will now find some music and post this before I move on to things like community analysis in the New York public libraries, social contracts, reference databases, ALA standards, or RUSA guidelines because I'm sure you'd tune out.

it's a party in the USA
Today was fantastic.
No work, no camp, no school, no stress.
Slept in, only 'til like 11:30 so that was interesting. Usually it's much later.
Did some writing and some editing, making progress as I need to be done before classes start up again.
More progress on some Sketch and Edit's plus a some work on the apartment story.
Library aspect to this one.
Figured I should actually have some ideas to go with the Thomas Family in apartment 10.

Had the olympics on in the background, there's a lot of water polo and diving which really you can only watch for so long. I did just watch the women's team win semi-finals so they're headed to the championship in volleyball. Jordan Larson's kickin' butt showing off her Nebraska skills.

Women are kickin' butt this year. USA soccer and water polo rocked it.
I don't know about you but I like the first half of the olympics better than the second half.
For some reason I like watching swimming more than running.
Though Usain Bolt and Sanya Richards-Ross are also fantastic.
Oh well, only a few days left so I should enjoy them while they last.
So tomorrow is back to work meaning I should head to bed soon.
Carter seemed excited that I was home today. He basically slept on top of me all day.
And then I'd move him and he'd give me the glare.
It's a bit difficult to type with all 21 pounds of him on my lap.
He's a bit bigger than the keyboard.
Yes 21 pounds, and sadly he's only 6 years old.
Oh well, he's fluffy and he's cute and he seems to love me on occasion so it's okay.

So this is what a day off feels like?
Spent it sleeping in until noon,
Watched some Leverage,
Went grocery shopping,
Put off the stuff I said I was going to do today but I'll do Monday instead.
Just paperwork mostly. and some phone stuff.
But I got my pop so I'm good for a week or so.
Made tenative plans for New Years with the same old gang.
Next up, more Leverage.

IS THAT MONICA POTTER? dude. didn't know that. head over heels is one of my favorites, hysterical. She's a regular girl who moves in with a bunch of models and they witness a murder, it's just really funny. and Freddie Prince Junior is in it.
Try - John Mayer
just give it at least 30 seconds. you'll get hooked, the guitar is fantastic.

one of my bands of all time playing one of my favorites. they're fantastic live.

Went grocery shopping,
Put off the stuff I said I was going to do today but I'll do Monday instead.
Just paperwork mostly. and some phone stuff.
But I got my pop so I'm good for a week or so.
Made tenative plans for New Years with the same old gang.
