Yes, I took the weekend off.
No, I'm not lying somewhere in a ditch.
That's actually one of my favorite home branch memories - as horrible as it sounds, it's funnier now.
Basically my phone went nuts and my alarm didn't go off so I woke up late and missed part of work and since my phone was messed up I couldn't make or receive any calls to call in to let them know what was going on. By the time I finally got there I was like freaking out cause I thought I was gonna get fired and they started clapping cause I wasn't dead somewhere in a ditch.
Thanks for that guys.
Anyway, it was nice to have the weekend off but I'm back with a vengeance.
FRIDAY:
Slept in, it was glorious.
Then went shopping with Oldest Sister for shirts for work.
But we couldn't leave the store with just shirts.
Apparently, every female with a pulse is required to own boots.
It's some sort of contract that we sign when we're born.
And apparently cowboy boots aren't enough so I got another pair that my boyfriend calls "camo" but I call "steampunk". They're awesome.
The best part was that Oldest Sister hated them! And wanted me to get this other pair so I tried them both on and then she was like, ugh. I like your choice better.
Victory!
They have pockets.
I don't know what to put in the pockets but they're there.
And they're awesome so I wore them to work today.
And it turned out much better than that time I wore the cowboy boots to work.
Which is on here somewhere I believe. It just happened to be the busiest day that week so I was constantly running up and down the stairs with the boots, my feet were dead by the end of the day.
But today was much better and these are more comfortable. The boyfriend was stunned. Take that world.
Anyway, back to Friday, so slept in, went shopping, then headed out to see the boyfriend. He changed my oil cause he's sweet like that.
Then we watched Heat cause apparently it's the action movie to kill all action movies and neither of us had seen it.
Literally.
Scale of Awesome says about 6/10. It was alright but it wasn't all that. I did enjoy the cast though, they were good.
My problem was that I fell asleep about halfway through - we didn't start it until 9 since he didn't have to go in to work so it wasn't over 'til 12 and then I didn't get back 'til 1.
Which made Saturday even more interesting as I had to work.
SATURDAY:
So I was in zombie mode for most of the day, plus I felt like crap so it wasn't a fun day. But that's okay, worked 9-6, got to clean the bathroom after someone threw toilet paper all over the place, then came home and watched some Charlie's Angels.
Cause it's about that time again. Every few months I gotta bring it back. Starting with season one again.
I know, I know, but if I start at season one then by the time I get through season three I'll be distracted and then won't have time to watch seasons four or five where Sabrina leaves and we're stuck with crap.
Which I can only assume without verification as even though I own both seasons I've avoided them like the plague.
Also did some homework and lots of reading.
SUNDAY:
aka today.
Wore the boots, they're awesome. Will consider wearing them again tomorrow.
Spent the majority of my day working on booklists as Sundays are slow. Found some more crazy millionaires worthy of my Million Dollar Crazies booklist. Sent a copy to the Queen of Awesome, we'll see what she thinks of my list. I keep coming up with more! Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Howard Hughes, Howie Mandel, Justin Bieber, Leona Helmsley, Robert Klark Graham, Gatsby, Tony Stark, etc. etc. Yes, I'm including fiction too.
Talked to some teens about joining TAB and they seemed pretty interested. Been seeing them around lately and the girl seems like she would really like it so I gave them both applications. Hope to see them in September.
What else?
Oh, had the song Poor Unfortunate Souls stuck in my head all day cause I have copies of Barbarous Souls checked out for my mom and every time I look at my account I see them and for some reason Ursula and her eels pop into my head.
And they drive me nuts.
After work went out to see the boyfriend yet again, we got supper, watched part of the VMA's and then jammed at Walmart buying donuts and checking out their $5 DVD selection.
It was thoroughly exciting, just enough of a break from reality that it was perfect.
So, now I am back and off to bed. More work tomorrow cause there's no rest for the wicked.

It's only fear after all.
Yes, I know I didn't post yesterday but I was all ranty and no one wants to read that.
Despite being all ranty the workday wasn't awful.
Spent the morning at the work branch and then the afternoon with Joe Studley at the home branch.
The other person on duty went home sick so they moved me over leaving only 4 people to cover the entire 4 floor building. And when I left 2 of those 4 were at lunch so...
That had to have been fun.
Joe and I had fun, but we always have fun.
After work I watched some Wipeout, did some more editing, and caught up with Sketch.
Today was much better, as you can tell I'm not all ranty so that's always a good sign.
Finally got to see the boyfriend after like a week. Our schedules have just not matched up. If he gets moved to second and it's like this on a regular basis I'm going to be ranty all the time.
We watched Dream House.
It was messed up, Scale of Awesome says 6/10.
I was entertained but confused about many things.
But it's okay, the movie was good for something as immediately following filming Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig got married.
Yes, she's officially a Bond Babe now.
After that got over we watched a little of Mr. and Mrs. Smith - which I love and I'm going to force him to watch the rest tomorrow if he's able to come up here. Again, I hate scheduling.
When did dating become about scheduling? It shouldn't come down to that, you know? Part of me wants to get married just so that it's easier on us.
Though the other part of me remains a girl about the whole thing, but it's his job to ask so I'm staying out of it.
Where was I?
Oh yeah, today, so I'm a nerd.
Which you knew.
And since it was slow today I took the opportunity to work on some booklists. This round's topics are:
-Spunky Old Men (gonna have to think of a better title for that one, but it goes along with my spunky old ladies booklist, you're smart what would you name it?)
-Banned and Challenged Nonfiction Titles (to go with Banned Books Week in September, everyone does fiction list but I'm up for the challenge)
and my personal favorite as suggested by the Old New Guy
-Million Dollar Crazies (you know like Million Dollar Baby except this is about crazy millionaires aka Donald Trump, Howard Hughes, Joan Rivers, etc.)
I'm having far too much fun looking for titles.
And that was my day.
Well, days.
On to the music and then I'm off to finish up my editing.

"I have come here to kick zombie butt and chew bubble gum... and I am all out of bubble gum!"
Oh, Wipeout how I love you.
Got to spend the day at the home branch with the new supervisor.
Lots of fun.
Though we were swamped cause we were closed yesterday.
Showed up and we had an entire bookdrop cart that maintenance had brought in the night before overflowing with stuff, plus whatever was currently in the bookdrop.
And no tubs to send them in delivery so it was just carts and carts of stuff.
Then our internet was down cause they were updating software so we only had one functional computer.
And then once it started working the other one went down along with the patron internet computers.
Patrons were not happy and neither were we.
But it's supposed to be much faster now.
Anyway, we were swamped, people everywhere and constant stuff to do so the day flew by pretty quickly.
After which I had to go save a fish.
Got the panic text from Squirt yesterday while lighting fireworks asking if I'd feed her fish and then close the door so the cat wouldn't eat said fish.
She was bummed when I closed the door.
Aw, poor Dumb as a Post.
She answers to that you know.
And Fluffy Bunny.
Cause she's fluffy.
Though not quite as fluffy as Carter.
Speaking of which, Carter needs to be shaved.
Perhaps grandma can find someone to do it while I'm at camp.
He is her favorite grandcat.
She may not always admit it, but I'm pretty sure she misses him.
He loves the farm.
Just not so much the farm cats.
Anyway, after saving the fish and feeding my cat came the homework.
He called it the "Final Exam" but it was actually three papers combined into one. Six pages and I'm done. Emailed it in at 10PM that's a whole 2 hours before the deadline.
I know you're all proud.
So I'm officially done with Library Systems!!!
Well, the class.
Next up Foundations.
But all that stuff is due end of July so I'm gonna take my time with it.
Going to enjoy my weekend off first.
Headed out of town to celebrate my brother-in-law's 40th birthday.
It's not so much a surprise party when he helps plan it.
But it's gonna be fun, dinner in the old market and then walking around downtown before heading back to the hotel.
Second Sister is excited cause they have a hot tub.
Though they own a hot tub so....
Anyway, I'm excited to be done with homework for the week and that I get to sleep in tomorrow.
And then upload even more camp stuff as that is coming up fast.
And I've gotten like 20 envelopes in the past week.
All huge so I'm guessing there's more than one application in each.
Which is good.
As long as they're counselors and teen helpers.
Cause I have like 2 teen helpers total at the moment.
Aaannd that's all I got.
I know, I'm boring, I'm sorry.
But I'm sure I'll have more entertaining stories to tell after the birthday shindig.

Back to Blood Ties.
Still on season one.
Need to finish this so I can move on to season two and then return them both.
Had them for like 2 months now.
Gotta love Interlibrary Loans.
Though I may just end up buying them off Amazon.

It's an amusing series.
Though not inspiring enough to make me want to read the novels.
There's just something about vampire books that I can't get into.
I blame Twilight and Bella's immediate fascination after two pages of Edward.
We had to read the first book for class.
She knew him for like 2 days and was already, "i'll die for him" and all that crap.
It was repulsive.
Vomitrocious one would say.
Well, a friend of mine would anyway.
So today was fun.
Got to work at the home branch with the new supervisor and the new aide.
The one I was hired along with 3 years ago finally quit and has a new job.
Speaking of 3 years, yeah, it's officially been 3 years as of yesterday that I've worked for the library system.
And on the 24th it'll be 3 years at the work branch.
It was nice to go back to the relaxation that is the home branch and its usual patrons.
Except it wasn't relaxing for long as the computers would turn themselves off after about 15 minutes into each session.
That made for a fun morning.
But I was off at 2 so it wasn't that long of a day.
Tomorrow is gonna be a weird one as well, work the morning then camp meeting in the afternoon.
Sending out our application letters, woohoo!
We always have fun, even if it's doing the mundane task of folding letters and stuffing them in envelopes.
But we're goofballs.
And now we're excited goofballs cause application letters going out means camp season is officially upon us.
I've already gotten 2 applications in the mail - you can always tell when the pastors get them cause their kids send theirs back immediately.
We actually mail out individual application forms to everyone who went the previous year and then out to the churches as well to attract more kids.
So that's Saturday, and I'm off on Sunday and Monday so for Mother's Day I told Mom I would clean her house.
Cause that's all she wanted.
Alright, I'm zonked.
Gonna crash.

Oh my god, I'm not allowed to get hooked on Duck Dynasty.
It's ridiculous.
Stupid marathons.
I didn't even turn it on, the channel was already on.
I meant to turn the TV on in the background - silence drives me nuts - but then I hear "There's a bearded man starting a fire in his yard, what are we gonna do?"
Not allowed.
Stupid marathons.
Headphones going back in both ears.
We actually had this conversation in class.
Well, on a discussion board for class.
Apparently I'm not the only one who does their homework with earbuds in for music and the TV on in the background.
Generational thing.
So today was pretty good.
Got to spend the majority of it with the Glee-Loving Boss at the home branch. We jammed.
Super busy morning. Mostly because there's only ever two of us and he did two storytimes and left for a lunch so I was alone at the desk for like 3 hours.
Not. Boring.
So 9-3 there, then back to the work branch for the rest of the day. Had a lot of my list of things to do once there but got to none of them because we were swamped there too. I was there for 3 hours and got 20-something stats in 2 of them alone.
After work the boyfriend came up. We watched Splash - to see Suh get eliminated - and then Rock of Ages.
Not bad.
Catherine Zeta-Jones was my favorite.
Of course, I know, big surprise there.
Can't believe that was Tom Cruise.
It didn't seem like him at all. Maybe it was the long hair that threw me off.
Scale of Awesome rates it at about 7/10.
Now they're telling beard jokes.
Apparently they're worse than your-mama jokes.

Public Transportation is Sexy.
That's really all I had from yesterday and it was Vegas rules anyway so I couldn't explain it.
Plus I was up 'til 3AM doing homework and then had to wake up at 8 to go to work all day so I did not get around to posting.
We took a tour of a law library that took way longer than I thought. But I learned a lot and it was interesting. And at least I finished the homework so I'm good for a few days at least.
Today was fun. Got to work at the home branch with Space Cadet so things were a little more relaxed. Except that the bookdrop was frozen shut so the maintenance dudes had to come over with a blowtorch.
So that was fun.
Anyway, after work was Trivia Night - the fundraiser for my nephew's school. We went as the cast from That 70's Show - I'm sure pictures will make Facebook. I was Donna, had my red hair and 70's shirt, the boyfriend was Foreman - appropriately enough.
Now I have the urge to watch the series. I have the majority of it - leaving out of course the last season after Topher ditches. Does he at least come back for the finale?
It was fun, 10 categories with 10 questions each plus the additional Dead or Alive and Heads of Tails between rounds. I got some random ones - you would have been proud. Jackson Pollock, Scott Joplin, Albany, The Hunger Games.
Yes, I'm aware those are random answers, but they were the ones I contributed as the majority of the questions were answered by the boyfriend, the brother and the brothers-in-law. Though this year they had an entire category dedicated to quilting - yes, quilting - and Oldest and Second Sisters took over that one. Even Favorite Sister-In-Law dominated this year. Setting the standard for next year pretty high.
There were some weird categories, I mean the usual ones of religion and around the town but then the first category was all about dogs, which we got like 8/10 so that was awesome but then that quilting thing was way weird. Glad the sisters knew what they were talking about.
Interestingly enough, last year we got hosed on the Around the Town thing because they hadn't lived there very long, and yes I went to college there but I didn't pay attention to what building an image of an anvil was on or how many clocks were in the courtyard. This year's was very very specific - and weird. Like what road is this fence on? who lives in this house? - it was the University's president WHICH I GOT RIGHT! so take that.
And I didn't even know it was his house. I just guessed cause it had to be some sort of celebrity so people would know it.
Take that!
Anyway, I think our final score was like 71 or 72. Not great but not last - actually we tied for 12th out of 30 teams so it wasn't that bad.
For as specialized as the categories were at least.
We're debating themes for next year. Possibly something 80's, maybe favorite 80's movie character - in which case I'm not sure who I'd choose. Have to do some research on that one. Some of the Star Wars movies came out in the 80's and I am a Carrie Fisher fan. Though I would avoid the bikini scene. That would just be awkward.
Oh, speaking of, so I love it (that was sarcasm) when people come up to me and say, "hey you look great, did you lose some weight?"
Cause I never know what to say.
I wasn't aware I needed to lose any and it's not like I'm trying to.
I mean I don't really eat but that's because of time constraints, not dieting.
Unless time constraints is a form of dieting.
In which case I would be on a diet.
But what do you say to that really?

Today was fun. Got to work at the home branch with Space Cadet so things were a little more relaxed. Except that the bookdrop was frozen shut so the maintenance dudes had to come over with a blowtorch.
So that was fun.
Anyway, after work was Trivia Night - the fundraiser for my nephew's school. We went as the cast from That 70's Show - I'm sure pictures will make Facebook. I was Donna, had my red hair and 70's shirt, the boyfriend was Foreman - appropriately enough.
Now I have the urge to watch the series. I have the majority of it - leaving out of course the last season after Topher ditches. Does he at least come back for the finale?

"Is it all sunsets and rainbows or did you throw up in your mouth a little?"
I knew when I slept through my alarm that this was gonna be an off day.
Woke up at 9:01.
Supposed to be at work at 9:05. Hit snooze too many times apparently.
So I called Superwoman who covered for me 'til I got there.
I got to shelve for a couple of hours today, ah flashbacks. Though shelving at the work branch is a lot less zen than at the home branch.
Mostly because there's more stuff, but also with the home branch I could tell you exactly where anything was without wandering around trying to find it. I knew which author was at the end of the row before you had to go to the other side because I shelved them every day.
Though now since they've shifted that's all changed.
But anyway, with the work branch there's so much stuff and I'm just not used to it so I have to go by signs - some of which are wrong, btw - so I'm scrambling and it took so much longer than I thought it would.
I only did fiction though, no nonfiction.
What's funny is that I know the nonfiction call number breakdowns because I can visual which subject is shelved where at the home branch. Like oh, that's there so that must be in the 741.5's. Could actually tell you the order of the general stuff from memory.
In fact I already did. Go here: Rockin' Reference with the Shelver's Curse
Though I do have an excuse to wander in the nonfiction since we just did a huge shift.
So now when I'm helping a patron I just look like an idiot going, it'll be this way, nope, sorry next row.

Things overheard at dinner
-"Evidently she's a whore."
-"But she's a nice whore."
-"Maybe they think Squirt's hot" about our waiter talking to his boss and looking at our table but not taking our order.
-"All my bitches are freshmen."

Alright, early morning tomorrow meeting the Library Goddess so I'm out after these hits of 2012.

Aw, the home branch.
Got the message from Julie but I was in the shower so I didn't get there 'til 11:30.
Which is the time I was supposed to start at the work branch anyway.
Interesting day at the work branch as it was our 50th anniversary celebration.
With 3 employees working.
To cover that entire building.
Stuffed with people.
At least I hope it was stuffed cause it is kind of a big thing.
But then again I hope it wasn't stuffed cause then I'd feel bad for the New Girl, BossLady, and Slim Shady.
And no I didn't realize those rhymed until I typed them.
I'm sure it was fine. Enough people to cover both floors.
Oh well, I got to spend my day with Space Cadet. Which is always entertaining.
We debate and then she slips me recipes.
Today it was french toast.
But there wasn't as much debate as usual. Though really not a lot of debates can top who would win in a fight: a snow leopard or a sea cow.
Long story, Go here: I guess I'll go home it's late. There'll be tomorrow night, but wait...
Meanwhile the boyfriend is still sleeping with my big fat cat on his stomach.
Did I mention we got home super late?
But he works nights so he needs to sleep during the day. And as he couldn't last night I let him sleep.
Cause it would suck to have to switch back and forth like that.
It was amusing when I came home with lunch at 3:15 and he was still konked out. Though he was awake when I got home around 6:15. Ate supper, watched a movie and he headed to work.
Tomorrow is margaritas and fajitas with the Cool Aunt but first is work. I get to go in an hour late but I still need to konk out soon.
So, on to the music.

you can never go wrong with the classics and frank is the epitome of classic.

Blame it on the boogie.

What can I say about today? It flew by rather quickly, even though the majority of it was filled with flustered staff and frustrated patrons.
We run on an open source ILS system which means we're completely dependent on the internet, so when any part of that goes down we're screwed. This time I guess it had something to do with Amazon or something that took us down, but we didn't have access to patron records or our catalog from about 12 to 7.
That was fun.
Also fun? Making computer reservations manually by staff because the reservation station was down as well.
Anyway, I guess some of the branches used the offline utility version that you can just upload later, but for some reason both of the branches that I got to work at today - work and home - both decided to write everything out, you know patron barcodes plus the barcode of every checked out item?? on these "downtime" logs.
That was a fun last hour, manually inputting all that data. And I'm guessing it will be more of the same tomorrow since I don't think Koha was back up and running by the time the work branch closed - I left there early to close out at the home branch.
But, I got a lot of other stuff done when I was scheduled to be checking in. Since the system was down all I got was the circle of death - you know when something is supposed to be loading but it just keeps giving you the circle and never loads? - so I stocked supplies, updated by TAB website, got ready for the volunteer that comes tomorrow, filled out my time sheet, applied for leave on Wednesday, etc.
Oh yeah, I register for classes on Wednesday morning and apparently the ones I need fill up in like minutes so I'm staying home in the morning and going in after registration. This way I get time to set everything up and then I can just hit add and be done without the stress.
Cause you know there will be stress, I'll be freaking out cause it's a new system and I don't remember what I'm doing, and it's a big thing, and yes usually you can talk to the professors and ask them to manually add you if the classes are filled, but pretty sure they aren't big fans of doing that.
If I don't make it into those ones maybe I'll take Romance Reader's Advisory instead.
I'm joking, but I'm sure Queen of the Known Universe would be all over that one.
And yes, that's a legitimate class added this year.
I'm making today sound awful, actually it wasn't awful. I got a lot accomplished and yes some of the patrons were impatient but most of them were understanding. I love my job even when the system goes down, I get yelled at by angry patrons, the heat doesn't work, and creepers hit on me.
Cause I'm making a difference and what I'm doing matters and I like the place and the patrons and the material and the atmosphere and my teens and my coworkers and really everything about it. Except for when creepers follow me around the building, not a big fan of that. Which reminds me how grateful I am for security guards!
I remember when I first walked in for the interview and went, "really? a security guard for books?" Oh my god, what an underestimation. I don't know how the other branches function without one.
And I'm happy cause I got to work at the home branch with my Glee-Loving Boss. Who sends me FluMist Nasal Spray stickers through interoffice mail as a practical joke.

Okay, here's my top 20. I should count how many times this gets posted.
Brandon Mahone – eliminated after first battle
Tonight was huge cause many performed and only one was eliminated, and that was to someone higher on the list, aka Brandon Mahone lost to Nicole Nelson. Cassadee dominated her battle though I was bummed cause they didn't air the whole thing, will have to find it online, and Joe Kirkman also won his battle so that just leaves Adriana Louise and Avery Wilson who have yet to take the stage in the battle rounds.
Looking at who's left Adriana will probably face off against Disney music star Jordan Pruitt and as for Avery I think Lady Gaga backup singer Chevonne is the only one left, but I may be wrong.
So I think there are three battles left and only Xtina has a steal, I'm wondering who she's saving it for. I'm shocked no one grabbed Brandon, he was great but a bit outranked by the awesomeness that is Nicole Nelson.
Watch this if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Got to spend the day at the home branch with Glee-Loving Boss.
And yes, we did talk about Glee, but I haven't watched it since like 2 seasons ago so I'm a bit behind.
But it's okay cause my mom gives me updates every once in a while.
Like Quinn was in an accident.
And...
Okay, that's all I remember.
But half the good people graduated, but apparently they're still in it or something?
I don't know, I'm confused. Perhaps I'll watch a random episode on hulu and see if I can figure it out.
If not I'm sure there's an online summary somewhere.
It's one of those shows I just lost track of even though I was crazy obsessed at one point in my life.
Like Grey's.
And Bones.
and for a while The Closer.
But I caught up with the last one before the finale.
And Bones I'm still missing a few from last season but I have them taped.
So I'll watch them.
Or I'll buy it and watch them then.
There's just too many shows and I don't have time for them anymore.
I guess that happens when you get a life.
I do still watch NCIS, Castle and the Voice.
But the rest is DVR'd.
And half the time those are DVR'd, but I actually watch them, not let them sit for days and days.
I don't know where I'm going with this.
It's 2AM.
Oh yeah, I don't have to go in until 4 tomorrow, a-woohoo!
And I think after I'm taking Oldest Sister out for her birthday cause I have yet to do that.
I should probably wake up at a semi-decent hour so I can get started on some homework, but I guess that depends on when my internal clock wakes me up.
Cause sometimes I'll sleep 'til way late and get up, eat something fast and go to work.
But then there's times when I'm up at like 9 and can't go back to sleep.
Which is suck-ish, cause I rather enjoy sleeping in.
Oh well, I'll post some homework and then be done with it.
The only real assignments this week are discussion board stuff and a health resource analysis thing for the Library Goddess. We have to find a authentic website, print resource and community resource that someone can use for health information.
But the fun part is that we get to pick the patron and like give them qualities like mine will be a 24-year-old chick getting her Master's but she's suddenly diagnosed with like restless leg syndrome or something that sounds ridiculous but I'm sure is a serious problem.
It's just the commercials that are ridiculous.
Perhaps it's the writer in me, or just cause I'm a nerd, but I rather like assignments like these.
So that's the plan for tomorrow.
Not much to say about today other than the usual - it was dead cause it's a Sunday but then it picked up while he was at lunch and I was by myself - which is the norm as anyone who works/has worked there can tell you.
I have two volunteers that are supposed to start at the work branch tomorrow but I won't be there.
I trained them, but we'll see how much they remember.
I left detailed instructions, took up the whole board, and sent out an email to the staff to watch out for them. I'm sure they'll be fine.
Alright, in order to enjoy the sleeping in process I first have to fall asleep so I'm off. I'm sure I'll have plenty to talk about tomorrow. That usually happens when I do something with my family, we're full of characters.

I don't know, I'm confused. Perhaps I'll watch a random episode on hulu and see if I can figure it out.

It's one of those shows I just lost track of even though I was crazy obsessed at one point in my life.
Like Grey's.
And Bones.
and for a while The Closer.
But I caught up with the last one before the finale.
And Bones I'm still missing a few from last season but I have them taped.
So I'll watch them.
Or I'll buy it and watch them then.
There's just too many shows and I don't have time for them anymore.
I guess that happens when you get a life.
I do still watch NCIS, Castle and the Voice.
But the rest is DVR'd.
And half the time those are DVR'd, but I actually watch them, not let them sit for days and days.
I don't know where I'm going with this.
It's 2AM.
Oh yeah, I don't have to go in until 4 tomorrow, a-woohoo!
And I think after I'm taking Oldest Sister out for her birthday cause I have yet to do that.
I should probably wake up at a semi-decent hour so I can get started on some homework, but I guess that depends on when my internal clock wakes me up.
Cause sometimes I'll sleep 'til way late and get up, eat something fast and go to work.
But then there's times when I'm up at like 9 and can't go back to sleep.
Which is suck-ish, cause I rather enjoy sleeping in.
Oh well, I'll post some homework and then be done with it.

I have a big head and little arms.
Okay, I've been super crappy blogger lady lately I'm aware, so that ends now.
Before it was either not posting or posting about nothing, but now I actually have stuff to post about so we're good.
Yeah, you know it's bad when your mom texts you and asks if you're okay.
Yes.
I'm fine.
Just been busy.
Okay, where were we?
Ah yes, so Fearless Leader had her last day and the next day all hell broke loose when the mail didn't show up and the delivery truck broke down meaning today we were just swamped and had like a holds cart in the morning and then another in the afternoon.
After the madness Smo came out and stayed over last night - which is why there was not post-age so you get double tonight - ordered some burgers, watched some Warehouse 13, and pulled out the yearbooks going, "wait, who was that guy again?" Our class started as 32 and ended at like 26, but sadly the class above us lost even more people and graduated with like 13 or something. It was super small.
Speaking of the class above me, my roommate from college was in that class and she texted me this morning a quote from Grey's - actually scared the crap out of me cause usually when I get Grey's quotes they're from Sketch. I hit reply and went, wait, what? I get random ones from her every once in a while but now she is all married and pregnant and working so she's busy.
But that's okay cause I'm busy too.
Anyway, so Smo was here and we jammed out and had fun cause she's always fun. Reminisced about a bunch of high school stuff, actually realized that there's just three of us girls left that aren't engaged/married/parents out of the...eh, there were only like ten of us. But still, amusing.
Then she started making fun of Frank.

Anyway, after some burgers and Warehouse we both konked out, then she took off this morning when I left for work.
And speaking of leaving for work - no, none of this will be in order - so you know when you wake up and you're like half asleep? Not yesterday morning, but the day before totally broke my toilet. Well, the handle. Cause you know you pull and then it's there and then you're like wait, that's not supposed to come off, but you're half asleep so you don't really understand what just happened?
So yeah, that was a fun voicemail to leave for my apartment people, basically, um, this is broken and I don't know what to do and I have to go to work so I'll check in later.
And then never did cause I got swamped.
And speaking of never did - apparently yesterday my dentist called - no, not my cellphone, they called me at work - and I was on break so they said they'd call back - and then never did, so I don't know if I'm supposed to call them or like wait for them to call me....I don't know why they called my work, they have my cell number as my main contact.
I think.
I'll call tomorrow cause I have the day off.
So much to do tomorrow, finish editing, read for homework stuff, post homework stuff, go shopping to buy more page protector things, and at some point I would like to sleep, though right now it's already 2AM - which isn't a big deal since I'm off tomorrow - but in order to sleep in you need to actually first fall asleep.
Let's see, so we got Wednesday, that was the broken toilet, hell breaks loose at work, Smo comes over - oh yeah, and it was all fixed by the time I got home. Which rocked cause that would've been awkward.
So that was Wednesday.
Thursday was today? Right.
Yes, Thursday was today. So she left this morning and I have this whole like free week of XM radio in my car cause they want me to sign up but I never do, anyway, so I didn't realize that I had forgotten my ipod - and I didn't realize how much I actually listen to music during the day cause there's lunch and there's off desk for projects and stuff so I totally had to update Pandora on my phone and listen to that instead with my backup/broken headphones that was miraculously still in my bag.
Yes, I'm aware that I'm pathetic cause I couldn't last one day without some sort of substitute for my ipod, but I don't have any music stored on my phone and then Pandora is internet radio so it kept killing my battery so I had to pull out the charger and take that with me like through lunch and then at my desk.
And I needed that to be charged cause I knew I'd need it later because I only have one charger in my car and I was using it for my GPS - Squirt had her first volleyball game tonight, she started and she rocked and they won so it was fun - anyway, but it was an away game and the high school they played is way up north and I had no idea how to get there so I tried to plug it in to Thomas my GPS but I never update Thomas so Thomas had no idea what the hell I was talking about so I ended up calling the library for directions!!

And I called the home branch - because for some reason I always call the home branch instead of the work branch for directions but I think that's more because when I need directions it means I'm not at work and when I'm not there it means we're closed - yes I do work too much - so I called the home branch and talked to the newest employee there who I get to work with every once in a while, she's fantastic, was talking me through it.
Totally found it and made it without driving in circles like an idiot.
So, they won 2 sets out of 3, Squirt rocked and the red hair was sweet cause they have green uniforms. Which means I should get a green shirt so I can like blend in and stuff.
After that I headed out to see the boyfriend - though the majority of the time he was working on motorcar stuff and then loading them up and all that.
I felt like the trophy girlfriend cause I couldn't do anything - my knowledge of mechanics is slightly limited - shutup Sketch - so I basically held the flashlight and made commentary. But he's very handy so he knew what he was doing. And he's smart because I'm clumsy so I'm sure I would screw something over.
But he is leaving to go on a trip with his dad until Tuesday so I knew if I didn't see him tonight it wouldn't be 'til like midweek next week, which made me realize how much I actually am in love with him because the thought of that just made me think, nope, that's too long to be apart so I'll go out there tonight and see him for like 2 hours.
So I did and it was fun and now I'm back, and after talking to Sketch for an hour did some homework and posted it though stuck on some other stuff - that isn't due 'til later - but it won't let me login to their library databases page and I know my way around our databases but theirs are different and their login thing is weird and I don't know what I'm doing so I got to send yet another dumb question email to our fantastic professor - I think that's actually the fourth email I've sent her this week and I'm supposed to know stuff cause I'm a GA but apparently I know nothing so I am sucking at that job.
Perhaps I should stop rambling and sleep.
Carter is staring at me going, do you know what time it is. Put down the computer so I can sleep. Cause he sleeps on my stomach at night. Like it's ridiculous cause he's really fat like 21 pounds of fat cat and I'm pretty sure my back looks something like this when I sleep

Feel good. Feel good. Feel good. Feel good.
Remember yesterday when I said I was going to "brave the lab"?
I braved it.
And then some.
Cause you know what happens when you get on a roll.
It all started first hour. Showed up at 9, started cleaning keyboards and screens at 9:05, finished the lab at exactly 10:04 when the stampede began up the stairs.
Missed it by that much.
Yes, the second the doors open to the public there are like 10, okay more like 20, people that all run up the stairs to get to the computer lab and the filtered outside the lab.
Not so much the express 15 minute ones.
Anyway, they were gross. I won't go into details because I don't want to scar you for life.
But yeah, gross.
Super, uber gross.
And sadly according to Fearless Leader it had just been done a few months ago.
So after that came desk stuff and all that, ran a Lost in Transit list which reminded me of myself and my home branch coworkers' plan to form a band and call ourselves the "Joe Studley and the Lost in Transit". Listed all the instruments we can play between the, well at the time there were 7 of us, but that was as far as it got.
After lunch I got tired of walking past three carts overflowing with crap and I had a free hour so I cleaned more and got it down to one highly organized cart against the wall so there's space.
Huzzah.
Then went back to search lists, and checking in. At that point I was ready to fall over so I took a break, told Queen of the Known Universe to wake me in 15 minutes and crashed on the basement floor. Unbeknownst to me that responsibility was passed on to Girlscout once QOTKU's break was over.
The thing was though when I heard her get up I set my alarm to make sure I'd wake up and when it went off I headed upstairs forcing Girlscout to track me down to make sure I was conscious and all that.
If I'd known I would have given her the headsup though it was rather amusing.
One thing I learned: basement floor, not so comfortable though surprisingly more sanitary than the computer lab.
After that I went back to check-in and youth services avoiding a tiny screaming child.
That's meant to be interpreted as a tiny child who screams, not a child screaming "tiny" over and over again.
Finished work, came home to watch "Man On a Ledge" Scale of Awesome says about 7/10, it was a lot better than I expected. After that I went back to editing, made a lot of progress on that lately, will work on it more tonight until I crash and pass out with my laptop on my lap with olympics on in the background.
I keep watching the men's basketball game over and over cause I want to actually watch it but I get distracted and only make it through like half of the first quarter or the last few minutes.
So yes I know what happens but that's not the point.
Speaking of points, didn't get any from Superwoman today even though I was super productive. Will have to remind her of that tomorrow.
But when I ask for points she gives me none claiming it'll make me more motivated to do even more.
A boss making me actually work and strive to be better?
Well, that's just mean.
Early morning tomorrow for a meeting with the Library Goddess to come up with a schedule and life plan and all that.

singing my life with his words...
Well now I officially feel old.
But still inspired.
Today marked my two year employment with the library.
Originally I was at one, then two, now back to one but it's the other one, if that makes sense.
I started as an Aide at the home branch exactly two years ago today, so it was a happy coincidence that I got to spend all day there today with my former bosses, one scheduled (Glee-Loving Boss) and one that stopped by (Sensei).
Took me back a bit, I still remember my first big assignment on the new job. Three hole punching the bottoms of plastic library bags because that way if a kid puts one over their head they'll still be able to breathe.
It was some sort of legal issue I guess.
I can still picture the look on Glee-Loving Boss's face when he said and I quote, "I know this is ridiculous but..." So I spent the majority of the day in the backroom poking holes into bags and more of the same the next day, except it was me and the other aide - the kid who's no longer a kid - and this time we put bookmarks in the bags.
So you know, if they decided to put it over their head they'd at least be able to look at something pretty whilst still being able to breathe because there are holes for that.
After that it was sorting carts, well items on carts, cause if you put them in the right order on the cart you can put them on the right order on the shelf.
And even if you couldn't do that they all had orange tags in them so they'd be easy to find on the shelves when the boss made the rounds.
But I got to find my purpose in life in the process and meet some pretty great people along the way.
So I brought cookies for the backroom. Half of them are gone by now, and with Space Cadet and her carb addiction who knows if there will be any left by the morning. HA!
I know this post should be doubly long as I skipped out last night.
To be fair I konked out at like 10, and this is even after the boyfriend came to visit.
I was zonked, for serious.
But today I was actually awake and coherent the whole day.
Which was good because at around 4:30 all hell broke loose.
No seriously, we went from 5 people to around 60 all needing help at once. It was ridiculously busy and Glee-Loving Boss and myself envisioned our recovery shift getting there at 6 and them seeing us flee the building for the sake of sanity.
But we stuck it out. We're tough like that. Besides it all calmed down by the time they got there and I got to tell Space Cadet all about life at its current state, aka meeting the parentals, Vegas... apparently the fact that I have a boyfriend and the fact that he's still around is widely appealing.
I shall have to tell him that later.
Unless of course he reads this, then I'm telling him now.
So if you're reading this, congratulations, people like you and are glad you're still around.
If not then I'm talking to myself, which really wouldn't be a shock factor.

So I watched We Bought A Zoo.
Simply fantastic.
Real heart-warmer and all that, but it was comedic and real and just a really good root for the underdogs kind of story.
Basically his wife dies and everything around the house and around town reminds him of her so when his son is expelled they go house shopping and find this house that's perfect, only catch is that it's a zoo. And by buying the land he is also buying the zoo. So he decides to reinstate it to its former glory and all that with a lot of bumps along the road.
I'm gonna give it about a 9/10, and I highly recommend it. Matt Damon is great, showing he can do comedy, drama and action - not action in this but you know you've got Bourne and all that.
Speaking of Bourne, am I the only one looking forward to the new Bourne movie? I love Jeremy Renner.
I know he's not Jason Bourne! But that's the point!! He's a different agent entirely, stop freaking out! They'll bring Matt Damon back when he's ready to do another movie. Geez crazies.
Sorry, where was I? Oh right, Scarlett Johansson is quickly rising in the Scale of Awesome meter of you know awesomeness and she's like serious zookeeper woman in this who has no outside life cause she's always there. And then you've got Thomas Haden Church as the protective accountant brother, a bunch of crazy staff members, plus the two kids who couldn't be more different from each other and it's all based on a true story! With a book to go with it!
And the line in the trailer about him having more hair than the other dads is a joke since the actual Benjamin Mee is in fact bald.
I love his line about 20 seconds of insane courage, great life motto.
So go watch it. Rent it, buy it, check it out, whatever, just do it cause it's fantastic.
I'm excited, I get to semi-sleep in tomorrow. Sort of. I start late cause I'm off late, helping out with a middle school visit that isn't actually a school visit, it sounds a bit like a school carnival or end of the year event thing, so we're going to promote library stuff I guess. I've never done one before so I guess I'll find out.
But I've got the awesomeness that is Girlscout with me so she'll get me through it. Plus I think the intern is going which is cool as she's in the same masters program I'm in. Seems pretty cool so far so it should be fun.
Things on my to-do-list:
Yes the ever-growing and never disappearing to-do-list.
-Finish editing friends stories, making that a priority as it took me like 5 months to get through one and that's awful. Usually it's more like 2 weeks but apparently library life keeps me pretty busy.
-Format Camp J songbook, how long has that been on the list that I've been putting off? Seriously? Just do it woman, the stuff is already uploaded all you have to do is space out the notes to match the lyrics.
-Buy 200 juice boxes. Okay that one's a little more complicated, but it's for the kickoff, and I also need to buy more candycorn while I'm at it. Also for the kickoff, don't ask I'm sure I'll ramble plenty about it when it comes around. Target man, Target. Screw HyVee I tried that already. Go here: Sharkey walks the plank
-Come up with Camp J application form that one I also have a deadline for since the meeting is on Saturday afternoon. I'm stoked! We're thinking of driving out to camp to check out the new digs. They built a new cafeteria/craft building with storm shelters and air conditioning. Now everyone's gonna wanna work in the kitchen and that never happens.
I'm sure there's more but I'm totally blanking.
I should sleep, as exciting as sleeping in sounds you have to actually fall asleep for it to take place.

he picked tony anyway, but i thought katrina was great, really grew on me throughout the competition.
but i'm all for the underdogs.
But still inspired.
Today marked my two year employment with the library.
Originally I was at one, then two, now back to one but it's the other one, if that makes sense.
I started as an Aide at the home branch exactly two years ago today, so it was a happy coincidence that I got to spend all day there today with my former bosses, one scheduled (Glee-Loving Boss) and one that stopped by (Sensei).
Took me back a bit, I still remember my first big assignment on the new job. Three hole punching the bottoms of plastic library bags because that way if a kid puts one over their head they'll still be able to breathe.
It was some sort of legal issue I guess.
I can still picture the look on Glee-Loving Boss's face when he said and I quote, "I know this is ridiculous but..." So I spent the majority of the day in the backroom poking holes into bags and more of the same the next day, except it was me and the other aide - the kid who's no longer a kid - and this time we put bookmarks in the bags.
So you know, if they decided to put it over their head they'd at least be able to look at something pretty whilst still being able to breathe because there are holes for that.
After that it was sorting carts, well items on carts, cause if you put them in the right order on the cart you can put them on the right order on the shelf.
And even if you couldn't do that they all had orange tags in them so they'd be easy to find on the shelves when the boss made the rounds.
But I got to find my purpose in life in the process and meet some pretty great people along the way.
So I brought cookies for the backroom. Half of them are gone by now, and with Space Cadet and her carb addiction who knows if there will be any left by the morning. HA!
I know this post should be doubly long as I skipped out last night.
To be fair I konked out at like 10, and this is even after the boyfriend came to visit.
I was zonked, for serious.
But today I was actually awake and coherent the whole day.
Which was good because at around 4:30 all hell broke loose.
No seriously, we went from 5 people to around 60 all needing help at once. It was ridiculously busy and Glee-Loving Boss and myself envisioned our recovery shift getting there at 6 and them seeing us flee the building for the sake of sanity.
But we stuck it out. We're tough like that. Besides it all calmed down by the time they got there and I got to tell Space Cadet all about life at its current state, aka meeting the parentals, Vegas... apparently the fact that I have a boyfriend and the fact that he's still around is widely appealing.
I shall have to tell him that later.
Unless of course he reads this, then I'm telling him now.
So if you're reading this, congratulations, people like you and are glad you're still around.
If not then I'm talking to myself, which really wouldn't be a shock factor.
