Yes, I'm posting this again. It's tradition. And probably the most-posted video on this blog.
Celebratory paper throw.
I can now officially do it.
Holy crap, I'm done with grad school.
Well, the homework portion at least.
Hence the celebratory paper throw.
All that's left are the grades - which is on their end - and then the graduation ceremony itself. Got my cap and gown hung up and all that.
And of course the party. I'm almost done sending out invitations. I still need to mail a few and stop by the home branch to drop off theirs. But other than that I'm good.
I just can't believe it's over.
Grad school is only mentioned in 256 out of 971 - wait, seriously, 971? - posts but it was a huge part of my life for like 3 years. Now I'm done with homework and stress about classes...feels good.
Today was good too. Extremely busy. Because of the holiday last week we were closed for two days and it all caught up with us today. Like 80 tubs in delivery, 2 full carts of holds, plus tons of stats. Made the day go by fairly quickly.
Plus Mr. BossMan Tom stopped by. It'll be weird not leaving tomorrow to go to the internship. While I'm glad to be done with that I'll definitely miss it.
And that's all I got for today. Came home, watched The Voice, The Blacklist, and then wrote up the paper.
The Blacklist was epic - fall finale, can't wait until January for new episodes. I wasn't as impressed with The Voice. Except for Jacquie, she was awesome.
Cry Baby - Jacquie Lee
alright, i'm out.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

I said watch out, I ain't lyin'
Only in Nebraska does it drop from 60 degrees to snow in less than 24 hours.
I used to love snow. Sledding, building forts, and snowmen and all that.
Now, driving through it makes me hate it.
I hate that I hate it cause I used to love it. It's like losing a piece of childhood or something.
So I skipped yesterday cause I chose to work on homework instead. I finished up tonight - it's not due until Sunday but I have an action packed weekend coming up so I didn't want to risk running out of time.
Both the Catching Fire party and the Elton John concert are on Saturday. I'm stoked! And terrified at the same time. Because of the party, not the concert. It's kind of a big deal. If someone calls in sick tomorrow I'm screwed cause I gotta go shopping for supplies. I waited cause the majority of it is food and I didn't want it to waste away on my desk.
Today was good. It was my second to last day at the practicum - Practicum Count-Up 86:45/90- only Tuesday left which feels crazy ridiculous. This semester has flown by which is both good and bad. I'm so ready to be done with homework forever. And soon I will be! Only this collection development paper - which I'm basically done with I just need to submit it - and then the program summary writeup which I can't do until after Saturday anyway. And then for practicum it's just the monthly narrative and then I'm done.
Done done.
Forever.
After work and practicum today I went out to see Second Sister to make plans for the graduation party. What kind of food is appropriate in this situation? I should know by now, I've graduated how many times? I'm thinking meat and cheese tray with some other fun stuff. Plus liquor. You know, you gotta have the bar otherwise my librarian friends won't come.
Ha, right.
I looked for invitations but the only ones I could find were suckish so I'm going to try again next week and then we'll fill them out over Thanksgiving. That's enough time before end of December, right? Should be fun.
That's all I got for today. I don't even remember much about yesterday. Worked 9-6. Dinner with the boyfriend and his parents after. Good food...yep, that's all I remember.
So, on to the music:
This song has been driving me nuts for about a month, ever since they covered it on the Voice.
So now, I shall share that joy with you.
I Put a Spell on You - CCR
was that a mickey mouse t-shirt?
this is by far my favorite version followed closely by She & Him and also Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus.
not a bad song to have stuck in your head but when it's been a month it's about time for something else. queen of the known universe tried to replace it with barney. she wasn't successful but she tried.
any other suggestions for replacement?

are you going with me? cause i'm going with you, that's the end of all time.
I know, I didn't post last night, but I was at the farmhouse and the internet was all wonky.
It made working on a homework assignment and then uploading it quite the adventure. BUT it's done and submitted so I'm down to 3 left total. That includes collection development and program summaries for Youth Services and then my final progress report for practicum. With only 3 days left of that as well.
It's flying by.
Which after 3 years is a good thing cause I'm ready to be done.
This weekend was nice. Had the whole one off so I went out to the farm to hang out with the 'rents.
We watched the Huskers lose - not that I didn't know it was coming but it was still a sad day - and some SNL, Big Bang Theory, and Major Crimes.
Oh and the state volleyball tournament cause our neighboring town made it to the finals. Lost, but second isn't bad when you've played like 30 teams.
Was a good break from reality to get out of here for a while. Dad says I should quit the library and move home.
You know, after I get my Master's in it and everything.
He says I should move home and farm.
Joy.
I'll pass on that. As much as the library has its moments where I do want to run run far far away, it doesn't make me want to run run far far away to the early mornings and late nights that farmers abide by. Even though I did grow up doing that in the summers.
It was suckish but my brother made it livable. With his singing and screaming obscenities there were moments that were highly entertaining. But nothing I want to do full time.
Tomorrow it's back at work - actually all week - but next week I have 3 days off so I'll manage. Plus this weekend is the weekend I'm taking my teens to see Catching Fire. They're stoked. I'm nervous I'm forgetting something. I'll have to go supply shopping at some point this week.
And we're seeing Elton John.
Oh, and speaking of concerts, so the boyfriend has decided that we're going to Reno to see Powerman 5000 in February.
Like he mentioned it before going to work and then when I woke up the next morning he had it all planned out and booked the trip right after I left for work.
So that should be fun.
I told him he was in charge of planning since I drug him all around Vegas. My only requirement is that he takes me someplace nice for dinner.
Watch, that will be my doom. We'll spend Reno at train stations or museums.
We're gonna have a train wedding I swear.
His brother joked about him owning enough motorcars that we could get married somewhere along the tracks and the wedding party could ride in on the cars.
Anyway, Reno should be fun. I know nothing about it so I should do some research on that, see if there's anything else gonna be there when we're there.
Yes, I know you don't know who Powerman 5000 is, but he loves them.
Heavy Metal from the 90's.
Here:
When Worlds Collide
you may actually know that one, or the refrain at least. it's the only one i know so i'm gonna have to work on that as well.
He saw them live once before and said they were really good.
I'm excited, it'll be fun.
Alright, I'm out for the night. Hope you had a good weekend.

"Well then I'll paint one pink, Happy Birthday!"
I was super excited today cause I finally figured out what to get the boyfriend for his birthday.
Something big that he'll actually like.
He spent the night trying to figure out what it was.
This was after he told me he wasn't going to tell me what he got me for mine.
Apparently only he is allowed to keep gifts a secret. Funny how that works. He said he'd give me hints but I didn't want them.
Somehow the conversation then turned to motorcars and I said something about him giving me a pink one for my birthday, then immediately took it back cause can you imagine riding around in one of those painted pink?
No, never.
Doesn't matter, he can guess all he wants, he won't get it.
At least I hope not.
Not that it would ruin the gift, but I want it to be a surprise. I'm actually quite proud of this one.
And speaking of gifts, it was his mom's birthday so I went out to eat with his family in celebration.
They put a sombrero on her head and whipped cream on her face - fear the wrath.
Afterwards we stopped by Second Sister's place to pick up the popcorn her bought from my nephew for a fundraiser.
We were told that one day we will have kids - that's still up for debate - but apparently one day our supposed kids are going to do fundraisers of their own and we'll make my siblings buy stuff from them so that meant buying popcorn and magazines from their kids. Which reminds me I should check on that subscription - I got him a train magazine subscription for Xmas too...
Before all that was work. 8 hours of sheer joy and happiness.
Not really but it wasn't bad.
I'm just glad to be done for the weekend. Stoked I get to watch the game tomorrow. I'm hoping we don't get hosed. Go Huskers.
And I have to write a paper.
Only 3 more assignments left for Youth Services, 3 more days left of practicum, and 1 more monthly report and then I'll be done with homework, ETERNALLY!
Huzzah!
Hooray!
and other various celebration noises!
Master's is enough, really the only purpose in getting a doctorate in this specific degree is to teach.
And I've already dropped out of an ed program in college so I'll pass on that.
Alright, I'm off. Music and I'm out.

"They're very good at flight attendant fingers."
"In this paper I will talk about the effects of social maturity on young adults and how it is influential in sociocultural institutions."
That's what I just wrote and realized, I never ever want to have to write lines like that ever again.
I passed comps, why can't the semester be over already?!
I think I've hit the senior slide. I'm slowly losing motivation about homework and grades. Which is interesting because the lowest grade I've gotten on a project so far in grad school is a B. The lowest class grade was an A- which killed my 4.0 GPA btw. Now it's at like 3.979 which is just mean really.
I'm ready for graduation, got my official invitation today in the mail. This weekend I'll be ordering my cap and gown.
BUT in order for all of that to happen I need to pass this class and before I can pass this class I need to finish this paper.
Maybe it's not a senior slide, maybe it's just today. I just feel dead. I don't know what it is, but all morning I was in complete zombie mode. I was so out of it that I spent my 15 minute break asleep in the periodicals area of the basement. Set my alarm so I'd wake back up, I was out immediately. Weird weird weird dreams, I'm hoping I didn't talk in my sleep. Apparently I do that, ask my former roommates. They found it wildly entertaining.
The library was as dead as I was, up until closing anyway, that's when the art show started so naturally that's when all the people showed up.
I don't know, I think I'm gonna work some more tonight, come up with a basic outline and some points and then crash. I've found my sources already it's the citation part that I'm really avoiding.
For some reason she's making us use Chicago style. Second class so far to do that but this time it's weird cause for the rest of the class it's been APA as opposed to the first class where it was Chicago the whole semester.
I hate Chicago style, it's confusing. You've got all the end notes and all that. Blah.
Like I said, ready for graduation.
Anyway, I'll do some more tonight, then crash, and then tomorrow is the wedding so I'll have all day up until then and then Sunday as well. It's not due until midnight, I've got plenty of time. Sort of. I'll figure it out.
I'm hoping ya'll are having a better day than I am.
On to the music. Here's what I'm playing in an attempt to wake myself up.
It's semi-kind-of-working.
If you're a Pitch Perfect fan then you should watch this cause it's entertaining - Acapella Boot Camp
Get your chest up Fridays.
okay, logging off before I get even more distracted.

"Sure you wanna do this?" "Course I'm not, let's go!"
Playing mom again this weekend.
Although babysitting teenagers is much easier than babysitting tiny screaming children.
I mean, these ones scream but only when they're chasing each other around the kitchen.
Okay, so it's not really different from babysitting tiny screaming children.
First on our list was movie night.
Bubby and I watched World War Z.
Gotta say, I'm not really a zombie fan - didn't see I Am Legend or any of the Walking Dead seasons - but it had an interesting storyline.
Even if it was nasty....
Scale of Awesome says 6/10. Not something I'll watch again but it was entertaining at the moment.
And gross.
And gross.
And gross.
Now we're watching cartoons.
Best fake mom ever.
Though I should probably crash soon. Dropping Squirt off at the bus tomorrow at 6:30. Before going back to bed and then going to work at 9.
Huzzah.
Today was good until after work. Then it was not so good. But hanging out with Bubby and Squirt is lots of fun so feeling better now.
Though that may change at 6AM tomorrow morning. aka 6 hours from now so I'm gonna shut up and go to sleep.
Oh and I finished that paper and sent it in a whole day early.
Actual Huzzah!
Find your own song of the day and let me know what it is.
I have faith in you.

Someone told me long ago, there's a calm before the storm, I know it's been coming for some time.
Should I be worried that someone got to my blog by Googling someone's name with the subtitle "the KFC slut"?
What kind of stuff am I posting on here?!
So my dad got struck by lightning today.
Dead serious.
I'm just glad he's not dead period.
Apparently being on the four-wheeler saved him cause of rubber wheels. I don't know if that's true or not - science was never my strong-point.
I do know that usually when someone is struck by lightning they go to the hospital to get checked out.
My dad on the other hand refused. Even after his favorite/pharmacist daughter told him that was a bad idea.
Not all that surprising. Remember the months and months of white walls and sterilized equipment posts? He seems to go to the hospital once a decade and then gets stuck there to fix everything that he neglected to go there for through the years.
This time there might be long term damage. Oldest Sister said the effect was immediate cause he went home and told Mom to stop mowing - you know, before he went back to work - and he never tells anyone to stop working so something must be wrong. She thinks his next hobby will be flower arranging.
It was interesting because I found out right before practicum so I walk in in this weird state of shock, not fully believing that he actually got struck by lightning.
Cause c'mon, who of you knows someone who was struck by lightning? Show of hands? Granted I can't see you raising your hands, but I'm guessing it's slim to none.
Besides my family who can now raise their hands of course.
Anyway, so I tell Mr. BossMan Tom and then go on to explain his other famous injuries.
Drill-bit through the hand, falling out of a tree while chainsawing, and my personal favorite running himself over with a car.
Which also, show of hands on that one? Anyone? Anyone? Nope, didn't think so. I mean, people get run over all the time, but do they ever run themselves over?
He was washing it and he put it in neutral and tried to walk it and his foot got caught and- it's a whole long story, whatever, the point is I'm listing all these things out to Mr. BossMan Tom and I finally realize where I get all my klutziness from.
I mean, Mom has her blonde moments every once in a while - "what's the abbreviation for 'no'?" "Um, no?"
But Dad truly takes the cake on injuries.
Though I'm not the only sibling in my family with klutzy injuries, I mean Oldest Sister blew out her knee doing laundry so...
Aside from that the day was interesting on its own. Worked at the home branch this morning. Listened to their new supervisor do a Toddler Time where she sang a song from Barney.
Which was then stuck in my head all day.
I hate Barney.
With passion.
Stupid purple dinosaur.
Queen of the Known Universe tried to fix it with her own headphones, thanks for that.
Plus, I made up these posters for the libraries we're building for practicum and had them laminated by the place across the street. It was funny cause I uploaded them last night then got this phone call from the lady all frantic this morning saying she's not going to have them done. Then when I go over there on my break I'm like right outside their door when she calls to say they're done. AND I KNOW HER! Cause she comes into the work branch all the time so that was amusing.
It decided to rain today, but only when I was outdoors walking to my car to leave for practicum and then when arriving at practicum - stopping in between while I was driving, which was crap cause it started again right as I was getting out of my car to go in.
Practicum Count-Up 32/90. Flying by. Today I made our check-out slips and decorated the boxes they'll go in. We put up the signs in the women's library and then went over to the men's to work more on that. Still not finished shelving, but the slips and box are there if they want to start checking stuff out.
We listened to a rain playlist today instead of the Beach Boys. It ranged from Jack Johnson to Gun-N-Roses. Huzzah for YouTube.
After that I came home to do homework. The boyfriend is still sick which means I haven't seen him since like this weekend.
Was it this weekend? I can't even remember I just know it's been too long.
When did I turn into one of those girls.
Seriously?
When did that happen?
I used to be so independent.
I still am mostly, but I do like spending time with him and wish he would just propose already so we can stop driving back and forth!
I know, it's not romantic at all, but it would be practical!
Which is sort of quasy...ish romantic.
Right?
Okay maybe not.
BUT I did get a lot of homework done tonight. Which is good cause it's done Sunday night. I wrote the paper, all that's left is citing and graphs. Which I may or may not do after I post this depending on my energy level.
Oh and I watched the new Star Trek movie.
I love Benedict, he's awesome.
Oh, I mean, go Starfleet!
Or whoever it is you root for in Trek... I'm sorry, not a Trekkie, more of a Wars girl.
Speaking of Wars, that whole "we'll fit" thing, total Millenium Falcon reference.
Just saying.
But it was good, I'd say 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome. Worthy of purchase, though I don't have the first one so there's one for the Xmas list.
On to the Music:
Have You Ever Seen The Rain - CCR
also on the playlist and the one that stuck with me as i drove home.
you know, after it had stopped raining cause i wasn't outside.

I've got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
I hate homework.
I know it has a purpose and all that, but that doesn't make it any more fun.
So, I've decided to start a countdown, look to the right.
Days until graduation.
Although technically I'm done before then.
Comps Week - October 19-27th
Practicum Due Date - December 1st
Youth Services final assignment - December 6th
So I could change it to the 6th, but I feel Graduation is a more appropriate countdown.
Today was good.
I really like these half days, though it makes full days like tomorrow go really slow.
Spent the morning at work on the desk and checking in, then it was over to the practicum adding labels to the women's library shelves and starting to sort our men's collection.
We divided up fiction/nonfiction, now it's just about shelving them in the right places. He sorted through the nonfiction and shelved them by category while I started on the fiction.
There's a lot of fiction.
We got about halfway done but should finish on Thursday.
Had the Beach Boys playing in the background again, this time we got all the way through the concert. Go here: Catch a Wave
Best practicum ever.
Practicum Count-Up: 29/90
After that it was all about homework.
Well that and Wipeout.
I have like 18 of them recorded that I need to get through so I can clear space for actual shows coming up this fall so they were playing in the background.
But I got sick of that so now it's Iron Chef.
Go Alex!
I was pretty productive with the homework, I'm just waiting to hear back from the professor about something.
And it's not due until Sunday at midnight anyway but I figure we have class tomorrow, Thursday I'm hoping to see my boyfriend, Friday I'm babysitting, Saturday I'm hoping to see my boyfriend and I didn't want to put it all off until Sunday afternoon so I might as well get started.
Another demographics study. I feel like I've done 4 of these now within the past 3 years with exactly the same data so I just keep copy and pasting. This time I'm switching it up though and just focusing on one zipcode instead of the whole county like I always do so it's a bit different.
I know, I'm boring, I'm sorry.
Hopefully I'll have more exciting things to talk about tomorrow after class. That's always interesting. Especially the sign-in process since I have to call in.
Here, enjoy some dumb popsicle stick jokes.
What kind of flower doesn't sleep at night?
The Day-ZZZ
That doesn't make sense.
Why couldn't the elephant use the computer?
He was afraid of the mouse.
Have I mentioned how dumb popsicle stick jokes are?
Pretty sure that's on here somewhere.
And I would know. I only eat 2 boxes a month.
If it helps it used to be a box a week, I'm cutting down.
Alright, on to the music and I'm out.
Roar - Katy Perry
this video reminds me of Hatchet.
but that's just the book nerd in me.
i really like her. some people don't but i do. especially after watching that Part of Me documentary, it was very cool.

but it's a little too late, she's a little too gone, she's a little too right, i'm a little too wrong.
Holy crap.
I'm done!
I finished all my homework for the semester and submitted it.
Yay for flying homework papers! (as is tradition)
I'm still in a state of awe.
Granted that might be because it's super late and I should be sleeping.
So I'll hate myself in the morning but it'll be worth it CAUSE I'M DONE!
Today was pretty good.
Work flew by - literally flew by - lunch break at the apartment loading up my big fat cat for Mom to take to the farm.
Can't leave him by himself while I'm at camp and he loves the farm.
And grandma.
Though that may not last after she takes him for shots and to be shaved.
It's always an adventure trying to get him into the cat carrier cause he's bigger than the carrier.
Which is a challenge, but we've found if you back him in then it goes faster.
But then he bites.
He's not a fan of the carrier.
Or the car ride.
So, sorry about that Mom.
And work was interesting itself, learned how to calculate interest when I got it for a reference question, and found real estate and some legal cases for one of our regulars.
After work was dinner with the boyfriend's family to celebrate his sister-in-law's birthday.
A month later, but still a birthday celebration nonetheless.
Stopped by his train friend's house afterwards.
Oh yeah, train friend.
Like, they do train stuff together like go watch trains and go on motorcar rides on the tracks and buy train stuff and all that.
He's a nice guy. And he knows my dad and his friends so I can semi-follow conversations.
I did grow up in a house full of train memorabilia so that helps every once in a while.
Got home. Did homework for four hours. Rocked it.
Well, hoping I rocked it.
Either way it's done and nothing I can do about it now.
Relief.
Now I can focus on camp.
Which is actually more stressful than the homework.
But worth it in the end.
Though I just realized that I go out there in like 3 days and I'm totally unprepared.
Even though I have all the applications processed, t-shirts sorted, nametags printed, skits picked out, trailer ready, etc.
Still have to type up and print out all the skits.
And do the cabin folders.
Plus pack.
Haven't even made a list yet.
Thursday.
All on Thursday.
Cause tomorrow I'm working.
Wednesday I'll be at a different library for a seminar - which just happens to be located in the town where the boyfriend lives. Hmm...
But Thursday is a half day.
Half work. Half camp.
So I'll be able to handle it.
Or I'll fake being able to handle it.
Fake it 'til you make it, as Bosslady says.
Okay, tired of typing and staring at this screen. Homework kills everything.
Wipeout and sleep it is.
It's a Little Too Late - Mark Chesnutt
is that kathy griffin?
classic country. love 90's country, was the best. gonna have to buy it on itunes.
AND since it is the first song I heard after finishing for the summer that makes it my Summer Song of 2013.
Basically the rule is it's the first song I hear after completing all my homework for the year and then I can't skip it when it comes up on my iPod for the rest of the summer.

Mahna Mahna
My Day In Five Words
1. Cereal
2. Hamburger
3. Jars
4. Homework
5. Camp
1. So in the mornings I put cereal in a ziplock bag and eat it in the car on the way to work. This morning it fell and spilled all over my car floor. Under my feet where I have to push the peddles so it kept getting all squashed and made it worse. I should have known today would be off.
2. Had a hamburger for lunch. Security guard was jealous. Am excited they're doing daily specials at the place across the street. Makes having only a half hour lunch much easier. And now that my Chinese joint next door is closed - sad day - I actually have someplace to go on days that aren't Thursday. Which is when they used to only do specials.
3. We had our final teen Summer Reading event today at the work branch. Did some jar decorating - painting them and making lanterns out of them. For the paint stuff we put stickers on the jar then painted over them. Then when we pulled the stickers off it revealed the design below. And then the paper lanterns was cool, we took super thin paper and drew designs on it. Then pasted it around the outside so when you stick a light in it the design shines through. Actually had about 11 participate, 1 girl I'd never met before who goes to a different branch normally and then a family that came about 10 minutes before we were about to pack up. Calling it a victory.
4. Homework sucks. But at least tonight I was productive about it. Got done with the "ripped from the headlines" essay about Fifty Shades of Grey. Oh yeah, forum for this one, would you include it in your library? Sadly, even though I would never read it because of its topic and the fact that it's horribly written - or so I've been told by everyone who's read more than a page of it - I did include it in my fake library because my fake library is a public library and not including it in our collection because of its topic would be like saying "we only include items that we agree with, if you want to read that you'll have to go somewhere else". And we can't do that cause we are a public library. Key word being public. As in it's our job to help each and every member of that public that comes in.
Sorry.
Still on the library writing kick.
After that essay came the Peer Review assignment. You know how we have to write up an encyclopedia entry for our final assignment? The one right before that is to edit someone else's. I picked the Dead Sea Scrolls entry.
Oh my god. I know I have grammar issues, but this was like, the person didn't even hit spellcheck.
Awful.
So that was frustrating cause I had to transfer all that into a "what they should fix" entry plus check out every one of the references to make sure they were correct.
Blah.
But it's done and submitted. Now all that's left is the actual encyclopedia entry which I have mostly done and then the source list.
And I think I'm getting this whole Chicago Style thing down. Or I guess I'll know if I've got it down after the essay is graded.
I'm still clueless as to why she picked Chicago when the entire Master's program up until this point has been APA.
So I learn Chicago for a 1 credit course and then go back to APA for my final 3 credit class.
But then I'll be done!! And can't complain about homework anymore!
Well, my homework anyway, but now the boyfriend is thinking about going back to school.
Which I am in full support of! I think it's great and it's a smart idea. However, I'm not so fond of the part where I will not see him at all for 12 months.
But we'll figure it out when the time comes.
5. Ah the joys of Camp J. I would be even more joyful about it if all the applications came in before the July 1st deadline and that the adults would realize that it's a kids camp meant for kids not for them so they shouldn't complain about their assignments.
But that would just be too much.
Anyway, after a half hour vent session to Obi-Wan we have come up with a plan. Though Pastor will be the one to put the plan in motion. I'll expand on that after this weekend's meeting.
Actually excited about this weekend. Going to a Camp J friend's wedding. We used to go to grade school together but she was a few years younger than me. She and Meg were my lifeguards for years and years and now Meg is getting married in November as well. Neither ChickenFro nor Boomer is coming to camp this year so I was forced to find new lifeguards. I'm glad at least one of my teens has training for it.
But the wedding should be fun. The boyfriend is coming along. I didn't even have to ask really, I just subtly mentioned it like half a dozen times and then he said he would go. Score one for the home team.
So today was pretty stressful but now it's over so I'm off to sleep. Need to finish up these final assignments by the end of this week so I can focus all of next week on camp.
Skits. Nametags. T-shirts. Packing. All that.
Clip of the Day:
just cause it's awesome.
timing is perfect on clips.
and i haven't posted it in like a year. aren't you proud?
yes i'm a nerd.

Don't go Jason Waterfalls.
Have you ever went through a carwash and felt like you were in a hidden camera TV show?
So, I decided that my car is covered in bugs - well, I didn't decide that, it actually just is - and I went to get it washed. I put in my money and drove forward and it starts beeping at me to drive backward. So I did, then it said drive forward then it beeped again and told me to go backward.
This proceeded to happen at least 5 times, the whole time I'm thinking alright where is the freakin' camera and crew? So I just drove out, talked to the people at the gas station and was like, wtf? And they went, it's touchy, here's a code go try it again.
Same thing. At least 5 times.
Said screw it again, went back in and they gave me cash back and yet another code.
This time it worked after only one of those reverse/forward cycles.
And the car is still covered in bugs.
Cause apparently - according to Kitzworld - Nebraska bugs are on steroids.
This is in the middle of an already stress-filled day off.
Decided to get up around 10AM and work on some homework.
Soon 10AM turned into 5PM and I was like, I gotta take a break. So I went grocery shopping bought Warehouse 13 season four - woohoo! - did the carwash thing and then came back to do even more homework.
Amidst all the homework were 4 frantic camp phone calls and 5 frantic camp emails. My life would be so much easier if people actually turned in their forms by July 1st and then actually went with their assignments.
Camp is in two weeks. My homework is due in two weeks. I feel like I don't even have time to go to work because there's so much to do!
So I'm calling it quits for the night.
I did two assignments worth of stuff plus sent in my practicum learning plan AND got my comps stuff in the mail - ugh, October's gonna suck - plus did all that camp stuff.
This one of those we love camp italic moments mentioned here.
I still have 3 assignments left to do.
But I quit for the night.
So, as a distraction for the crapsuck that was today, here is a preview for a movie of awesomeness.
I wanted to see if before the preview even came out.
We're The Millers
basically he's a drug dealer and needs a cover family to smuggle stuff.
it looks highly entertaining and yes that is Molly Quinn aka Alexis Castle.
Song of the day, well after watching that preview at least...
Waterfalls - TLC
yes i know it's not jason waterfalls but i like to sing it that way.
this video is a lot more depressing than i remember.
didn't Left-Eye die in a plane crash? should they include the plane in the video? does it serve a purpose?
and she's out! legitimate pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use.

"But I would watch Johnny Depp peel potatoes so..."
The Old New Guy and I were debating if we want to see Lone Ranger or not.
Another coworker said it was great, but everyone else that's seen it said it wasn't his best and then the boyfriend doesn't want to see it cause of the train inadequacies - don't ask.
It was pretty much a no-brainer debate though cause we both like Johnny Depp - him saying the title to this post was seriously the highlight of my entire day cause it was amusing and cause I would probably watch him peel potatoes too. I know Sketch would.
Maybe I'll take Squirt if she hasn't seen it already.
Frantic at the moment about the homework for this second class due July 26th. Looked at the assignments and it's making my head hurt.
Though that may be a combination of the fact that I felt sickish all day today and yesterday and that I've been staring at this screen for like 4 hours straight.
I'm hoping I'll feel better after some sleep but it's highly doubtful.
For the class it's like one big encyclopedia entry assignment made up of all these tiny components.
And then like these reading guide quiz things. Which should take like 5 minutes but you have to read all these articles and watch all these clips for the answers.
Hence the screen staring for all these hours.
Plus there was camp stuff before that.
But I'm confused cause there are two unit 1 quizzes and I found all the answers for the one that I thought I was supposed to do but what if it's the other one and then I'll have to start over again. She only lists one in the gradebook and the site has been having issues since the course started so I keep bombarding her with emails.
She probably thinks that I'm an idiot cause I'm sure everyone else in the class is done by now but not everyone else in the class works 40 hours, is taking other classes, and is attempting to direct a summer camp. Amongst other priorities.
Anyway, so they should take 5 minutes but they don't and then there's this massive encyclopedia entry thing where we pick a topic and write up its history and cite a bunch of crap - am debating topics. I'm thinking either Project Gutenberg or Charles Perrault.
Those are worthy of encyclopedia entries right?
For those of you who don't know Project Gutenberg is a Digital Library where you can read a bunch of free eBooks go here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ and Charles Perrault is the father of fairy tales.
The original ones where everyone dies horrible deaths.
Anyway, after all the screen-staring I'm just frustrated and zonked and feel like I've made no progress whatsoever.
So I'm going to bed before I get even more ranty.
Heard this one on the way home and now find it fitting.
Good Time - Leroy (acoustic)
Funny story is that last time I posted this song was in another freak out entry but for last fall with the 3 classes and GA thing.
That was nothing compared to this upcoming fall.
Is that all I do anymore? Just freak out on here?
Perhaps it's time for a break.

"I have come here to kick zombie butt and chew bubble gum... and I am all out of bubble gum!"
Oh, Wipeout how I love you.
Got to spend the day at the home branch with the new supervisor.
Lots of fun.
Though we were swamped cause we were closed yesterday.
Showed up and we had an entire bookdrop cart that maintenance had brought in the night before overflowing with stuff, plus whatever was currently in the bookdrop.
And no tubs to send them in delivery so it was just carts and carts of stuff.
Then our internet was down cause they were updating software so we only had one functional computer.
And then once it started working the other one went down along with the patron internet computers.
Patrons were not happy and neither were we.
But it's supposed to be much faster now.
Anyway, we were swamped, people everywhere and constant stuff to do so the day flew by pretty quickly.
After which I had to go save a fish.
Got the panic text from Squirt yesterday while lighting fireworks asking if I'd feed her fish and then close the door so the cat wouldn't eat said fish.
She was bummed when I closed the door.
Aw, poor Dumb as a Post.
She answers to that you know.
And Fluffy Bunny.
Cause she's fluffy.
Though not quite as fluffy as Carter.
Speaking of which, Carter needs to be shaved.
Perhaps grandma can find someone to do it while I'm at camp.
He is her favorite grandcat.
She may not always admit it, but I'm pretty sure she misses him.
He loves the farm.
Just not so much the farm cats.
Anyway, after saving the fish and feeding my cat came the homework.
He called it the "Final Exam" but it was actually three papers combined into one. Six pages and I'm done. Emailed it in at 10PM that's a whole 2 hours before the deadline.
I know you're all proud.
So I'm officially done with Library Systems!!!
Well, the class.
Next up Foundations.
But all that stuff is due end of July so I'm gonna take my time with it.
Going to enjoy my weekend off first.
Headed out of town to celebrate my brother-in-law's 40th birthday.
It's not so much a surprise party when he helps plan it.
But it's gonna be fun, dinner in the old market and then walking around downtown before heading back to the hotel.
Second Sister is excited cause they have a hot tub.
Though they own a hot tub so....
Anyway, I'm excited to be done with homework for the week and that I get to sleep in tomorrow.
And then upload even more camp stuff as that is coming up fast.
And I've gotten like 20 envelopes in the past week.
All huge so I'm guessing there's more than one application in each.
Which is good.
As long as they're counselors and teen helpers.
Cause I have like 2 teen helpers total at the moment.
Aaannd that's all I got.
I know, I'm boring, I'm sorry.
But I'm sure I'll have more entertaining stories to tell after the birthday shindig.
Song of the day:
As always, after I finish a class.
Because I want to throw my notes up like that but don't have the energy to clean them up.
So I'll watch Blaine do it instead.
Pretty sure this is the most posted song on this blog.
Except for maybe Shakin' Stevens or Sam Phillips.
Just means I've taken too many classes.
Alright, I'm out. Back to Wipeout.
Have a good weekend.

Thought he was gluten-free but all that I got was bread.
Kind of a rough day.
Getting only four hours of sleep didn't help things.
Add to that the fact that I felt like crap so I was pretty much a walking zombie.
Superwoman kept trying to send me home.
I would have called in sick but I had a volunteer coming in for training in the morning and I didn't want to dump that on some poor unsuspecting soul.
And then I realized that the Book Board Game event is TOMORROW and full on panic set in.
Similar to Library Golf but not as extreme.
As that was kind of an extreme event.
This is more laid back.
And I'm thinking like 10 people will attend, which is fine by me.
I almost finished my example today.
By "almost" I mean my comrade and I had fun coming up with game spaces for Harry Potter and finding online pictures to cut out and use as game pieces.
And then an hour and a half later the board was completed.
Now I have to do the currency and cards.
Though instead of chance and community chest I'm going with:
Portkey - cause you're going to be moving either forward or backward depending on if you set a python loose on your cousin or you won the house cup,
and then Spells and Potions - which can lead to you loaning money to the person next to you while being under the imperious curse or getting money for saving your friends because of your clever use of gillyweed.
etc. etc.
It's Harry Potter-based if you couldn't figure that out by yourselves.
I'm having far too much fun with this assignment.
Which makes up for the current assignment I'm taking a break from.
Ugh.
I hate takehome tests.
Especially when they're not actually tests but more like 3 term papers combined into one that's due Friday.
Ugh.
I have two of the three done, now all that's left is the first one. Which should be the easiest but seems to be the hardest.
As is true for most grad school assignments for the perfectionists out there.
But I have to do them tonight because tomorrow is the 3rd and then it's the 4th and those days will involve traveling and fireworks and therefore no homework will be done.
And I don't want to put it all off until Friday night - even though it isn't due until midnight.
Cause that would be irresponsible librarianship.
Or so I'm told.
Is that even a word?
I'm making it one.
Anyway, sadly the homework and board game weren't the most stressful part of today, it was actually that whole future thing that I avoid.
Juwanna and I use to refer to it as the "f" word cause I hated thinking about it.
However, today I was confronted with it as I talked with Superwoman.
Basically the thing is that I work 40 hours a week.
And in the fall I need to do a 90 hour practicum.
At a location that's open the same time as the library I work at and is closed on the weekends.
So I'll have to use vacation time to do my practicum.
90 hours of it.
Which I do not have when you combine it with things like camp - which I will never ever give up, you'll have to pry that from my cold dead hands - and then comprehensive exams which I will also be taking in the fall.
Which again are NOT TESTS, they're papers! 4 of them, basically dissertations and I have a week to finish them.
So why they call them exams I will never know.
Okay, technically it does evaluate your knowledge of the subject, but still!
They should just rename it "the week from hell" as my classmates so lovingly refer to it.
And from now on I'm sure I will too.
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to do the practicum on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons and make up for the missing 8 hours every week from mid-August through December 1st.
And I really don't want to be stuck working every Saturday to make up for it.
A girl needs her sanity where she can get it and being tied to a desk is not one of such places.
Anyway, the stress from all that made me overreact to stupid stuff and now I'm all headspace.
Which makes writing these papers even more difficult.
I'm thinking about quitting for the night and finishing question number one on Friday night.
Give me some time to think and confer with people about ideas.
Cause I'm stuck.
Yeah, let's go with that.
Alright, music and I'm out.
Let's do the fork in the garbage disposal!
sorry, i needed that.
on to the real music:
Acapella - Karmin (acoustic version)
yes, i know i posted the lyric video already, go here: You and me are through though, watch me hit it solo, I'mma do it acapella. but i really like the acoustic too.
looking forward to the real video that I assume will come out soon since the song is gonna be released end of this week.
huzzah for awesome nebraskans.

oh easy mac, oh easy mac, of all the cheese most lovely...
Homework finished and posted with 10 minutes to spare.
Yes, 11:49PM.
But I made it!
However, the downfall to spending my entire night doing homework is that all of my creative genius is used up.
So you should stop reading now.
I could ramble to you about open source vs. proprietary software.
But I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to read that.
Unless you're a librarian.
But probably not even then, that's the last thing we wanna read about after hours.
By the way that's like the 50th time I've spelled proprietary in a 6 hour period and I still spelled it wrong.
Ugh.
Have I mentioned how ready I am to be done?
Next assignment is a take home test due on the 3rd but we don't get it until Thursday.
So there goes my weekend.
Or Monday cause I think I'm off.
Speaking of Mondays, today was definitely one.
Go to work and it's fine until I go to get out of my car and there's a downpour.
Like literal downpour.
And me, underestimating the rain as usual, didn't bring a jacket so I was soaked for most of the morning.
The slow day was helpful though because I got a chance to upload my TAB master database and sort through my jars for the event on the 17th.
Which I shouldn't be worried about right now cause the book board game one comes first on the 3rd.
Though I'm guessing our numbers will be low because 1 it's the 3rd of July and 2 because teens don't use our branch as much as the others.
Cause we don't offer them anything.
I'm working on that though.
Seriously should stop reading now.
I would.
Night was boring aside from one massive moment of awesomeness.
No, not UCLA winning though I was thrilled.
I'M GOING TO SEE SHE AND HIM!!
Del she won tickets and invited me.
We were gonna go originally but we got distracted and then they were sold out.
But she won tickets so now we're back in the game.
In honor of the awesomeness that will be Thursday I now declare it to be She and Him week!
In which I will post my favorites by them throughout the week.
If you're not a fan then get over it.
And also, you're missing out on life cause they are just that awesome.
Okay, so my favorites in no particular order...
I Put a Spell on You
see how much of life you're missing out on?
for serious.
Why Do You Let Me Stay Here
this one is a bit morbid but i still love it. 1:02 still cracks me up.
yes, I know, I blew my whole going to bed early thing but we knew that was doomed from the start.
will soon.
after i eat my easy mac.
cause you don't really take time to eat when you're on a deadline.
i ate so much of that stuff in high school you could have called me "easy mac" and i would have answered.
whoa. mac and cheese. totally forgot - sketch and i went by "mac" and "cheese" for a while though i can't remember why.
flashbacks.
3 guesses as to which one of us was the cheese.
if you can't get it in 3 you lack some deduction skills.
okay, now you really need to stop reading this post.

yes, I know, I blew my whole going to bed early thing but we knew that was doomed from the start.
will soon.
after i eat my easy mac.
cause you don't really take time to eat when you're on a deadline.
i ate so much of that stuff in high school you could have called me "easy mac" and i would have answered.
whoa. mac and cheese. totally forgot - sketch and i went by "mac" and "cheese" for a while though i can't remember why.
flashbacks.
3 guesses as to which one of us was the cheese.
if you can't get it in 3 you lack some deduction skills.
okay, now you really need to stop reading this post.
and she's out!

"But avoid the Super 8 there like the plague...unless you want the plague."
Guess what?
I had fun.
Worlds of it.
Literally.
In case you weren't aware, the boyfriend and I went to Worlds of Fun this weekend.
It was packed, but we got fastlane passes so we were able to jump lines.
Ironically, the line for the fastlane passes was the longest line we stood in all day.
Got there at around 11AM and stayed until about 11:45PM.
Did my 17 roller coaster rides - he did more - for some reason I kept getting nauseous which confused me cause last year when we went I was fine the whole day.
Though last year we went in October so it wasn't 90 degrees.
Plus we actually ate stuff.
This year not so much.
But I did wear sunscreen so my mother will be proud.
It was a lot of fun.
When I wasn't having a panic attack and running all over the park retracing my steps.
Why is it that whenever we go somewhere I lose things?
We went to Vegas I lost my camera.
We went to Boone I lost my ring.
We go to Worlds of Fun and I lose my phone.
Temporarily.
The nice man at the Mamba saved it for me.
Pretty sure my mom got called in the process.
Sorry.
The whole time the boyfriend was the picture of cool.
Same with the previous losses.
It's clear which one of us is the more sane.
Though was that really ever questioned?
Anyway, once it was found we went to the car and I left everything in it but the keys.
I did manage to take some pictures before I ditched it though.
We actually took some time to see shows since we had all day.

These guys were pretty good.

Country Junction.
Took a few videos, may upload them later.
AND the spyglasses worked.
So rock on.
Got some cool coaster and drummer videos from them.
Which I will hold off on posting as they are loud and long and I need to fix them first.
It was well worth the trip.
Afterward we were both zonked so we didn't want to drive all the way back.
Stopped at the Super 8 first cause it was right across the street but they were full.
However, their nightshift employee was highly entertaining.
Directing us to other hotels yet warning us to stay away from a different branch of their franchise.
See title of post.
Gotta love it when they're honest.
Ended up staying at a different Super 8 - not the one with the plague - and then came back this morning.
Stopped at a Waffle House along the way.
Awesome chocolate chip waffles.
And raisin toast.
Which reminds me that I need to eat something else today.
Anyway, right before we left Missouri we saw this mega fireworks stand.
And it was kind of like the mother ship was calling me home.

If I were to own a fireworks stand - which I dream about - this would be how I would do it.
Giant warehouse in their backyard.
Posters and figures all over the walls.

(love that paris is in jail with spock as the guard)
Awesome music playing in the background - I'm talking a mix of the best from all the decades.
Plus some awesome discounts - if you spend a certain amount of money you get so much stuff free, however it applies to your next visit.
The staff being as awesome as it was said to go to my car, unload my fireworks and then come back.
Cause that would count as a separate visit.
Did I mention how much I love awesome employees?
Needless to say I spent far too much on fireworks, though it was only certain stuff cause the rest I get from my Dorm Mom.
Who gives me free stuff cause she loves me.
Speaking of, gonna call her this weekend.
I love it, she knows my number so she answers the phone with "yes, we're open!"
Ah, how well she knows me.
Alright, it is getting late and I need to work more on the paper that's due tomorrow at midnight.
Which I have started but just barely.
I did read through all my sources and I have an outline planned.
Now it's just the whole typing thing and the sources thing and the you know, coming up with actual words to say thing.
So, the usual.
Will be glad to be done in December!
Okay, music.
Treasure - Bruno Mars
i'm still debating if i like this song or not. heard it first on the voice - this performance, love the retro jackson 5 approach - and then we heard it on the way back so i'm posting it.
Don't Phunk With My Heart - Black Eyed Peas
another Song You Know But Forgot You Knew It - heard this one on the ride back as well. coincidence that it is also 70's style.
like them better as the Black Eyed Peas than I do separately as will.I.Am and Fergie.
Alright, back to the homework.
Legitimate pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use.

Wanna play dodgerock?
Beard growing contest and go!
While I usually hate these commercials - this one included - I enjoy the dodgerock.
Yes, I know, I didn't post yesterday.
Mostly because the 5 words to describe my day would have been negative (minus Volunteer and Hardware of course).
And I don't like posting when I'm like that cause it turns out like one of Meredith's whiny narratives on Grey's.
Even The Bosswomen have noticed I'm not happy.
And apparently they talk about it cause I had one check on me in the morning and the other check on me in the afternoon.
I'm in a slump of sorts.
It's more of a long story.
Lack of sleep probably isn't helping.
So, it's time for a weekend off.
Get out of my head and have fun.
Worlds of it.
Yes, we're headed to KC for more roller coasters.
And guessing from how it went last year it's gonna be 10AM to even later this year because I don't have to work the next day.
Huzzah!
And, as previously mentioned, he is obsessive about roller coasters. Last year we rode like 17 times in a 10 hour period.
Go here for our adventures from last year: The Difference Between "If" and "When"
5 words for today
Library
Laundry
Pack
Camp
Homework
Library - the day flew by pretty quickly. Got to see one of my TAB kids and another future TAB kid. Two of my new adult volunteers came in to shelve. And three new aides are starting this week. We lost a few of our lifers, but that's more of a long story.
Laundry - you know how you think you're caught up with laundry so you don't do it for a few days and then you're like crap, where did this come from? I'm there. So load after load so I have clothes for this weekend.
Pack - the question is, what to wear tomorrow. It's gonna be hot, so not jeans. I'm debating t-shirts, it's down to Star Wars or Warehouse 13. Also, what do you do when you're not allowed to take pictures with your camera while riding roller coasters? Buy spy glasses with a camera in them of course! Stoked. Though I'm sure I'll lose them somewhere along the way. If not I'll hit you with some cool videos when I get back.
Camp - got a ton of application forms yesterday and today so I spent most of the night uploading those and sending out confirmation emails. Looking good so far though super short on teen help and female counselors.
Homework - I have a massive paper due on Monday at midnight. I've started on it sort of. Meaning I found sources but done nothing else. Oh, I did clear the topic with the professor. Does that count? I'm thinking of printing off the sources and reading them on the drive out there and back. Then writing up an outline so I can get it done on Sunday when we get back.
and that was my day.
Oh, I stopped for gas so we'd have enough for the trip there.
And I called the Little Shelver Boy my fake boyfriend. But again, that's a long story.
Oh yeah, and I'm watching CWS. Go UCLA!
And I talked to Obi Wan about camp stuff.
And at some point I worked with the new temp and we talked roller coasters. And my family being goofy.
Oh yeah, Wordie and I quoted Monty Python.
"what are you gonna do, bleed on me?" "your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
There. That was my day.
Song of the day:
I Hope You're the End of My Story - Pistol Annies
love these girls.
last night I fell asleep at 11:30 - I know!! So early!! I was proud. Yet I was still space cadet in the morning.
tonight I'm posting early so I can print off those sources and then crash.
he says we're leaving at like 8 tomorrow morning.
i will probably sleep on the way there.
then it's fun in the sun. the hot hot sun. and then apparently a bigass moon, which is gonna be super cool whilst riding roller coasters.
go here: Supermoon 2013

You and me are through though, watch me hit it solo, I'mma do it acapella.
Ah the joys of a busy Saturday.
Actually the day flew by fairly quickly.
Had a super busy morning in the lab, lunch from Amigos, afternoon checking in in the backroom and even though our system was wonky I got through 6 carts and then headed back out to the desk.
After work was the real fun.
My original plans fell through for the night so that meant it was College World Series time!
Missed the opening game cause I had to work so I recorded it.
Mom has picked her team - Oregon State - who lost but they're still in it.
The Wordsmith has also picked his teams - he always goes with North Carolina so I didn't really have to ask, however with him he and I always pick backups.
Mine is Indiana, his is Louisville.
Meaning my backup just kicked his backup's ass.
2-0 final score.
Take that!
I figured, Big Ten, plus Omaha has officially adopted them - we always go for the underdog, Cal State, Stony Brook, etc. etc.
Tomorrow LSU plays - my main team - so we'll see how well they can dominate UCLA.
Who I also like but couldn't pick as my backup since they play each other in the first round.
Anyway, tonight was good.
Relaxing.
Love the College World Series.
And I did more work on camp stuff - so I don't feel guilty for taking a night off to watch baseball.
And my homework is done for the week.
Sent me a confirmation email in the middle of the night last night saying he got my paper.
Scared the crap out of me - you never want to get an email in the middle of the night from your instructor titled "Assignment #1" cause it makes you paranoid that something went wrong.
Apparently someone asked if he would send out confirmation emails so that explains it.
But I'm enjoying this weekend cause discussion boards don't resume until Monday and the next major assignment isn't due until the 24th.
Alright, I was supposed to be sleeping like 4 hours ago so I'm gonna crash and burn.
Here's some music for you.
My new favorite song.
Acapella - Karmin
All the harmony went fallin' out of key so now you gotta find another.
very cool lyric video...the real one comes out after the song is released - on the 25th! - so i'll post that one later.
and if you're not a fan of Karmin - though who isn't really, they're fantastic and from Nebraska so how can you beat that - go with this classic:
another Song You Know But Forgot You Knew It
Let Your Love Flow - Bellamy Brothers
that crowd has no enthusiasm whatsoever.

Let's order the tornado roll cause we're in a tornado watch.
So, today was much better.
Slept in.
Did homework all day.
Like all day.
From waking moment until dinner until now.
Taking a 30 minute break for lunch - Taco Bell - and then a dinner break with the Cool Aunt.
An entire day dedicated to SirsiDynix.
Its origin, external evaluations and possible directions for its future.
I know, you're all as enthused as I was all day.
But it's done!
And submitted!
Next major assignment due - aside from the constant discussion boards - is the 24th.
Huzzah.
Dinner was awesome, as always.
Sushi. We've basically worked our way through the menu so now we're just picking at random.
Had some good ones and then green tea ice cream for desert.
Which we've never had so we're switching it up.
Talked about fun family stuff.
And school stuff.
And some not so fun stuff.
But it was cool to catch up, haven't seen her in a few months.
AND it is officially CWS season - that's the College World Series for those of you who aren't fans - it starts tomorrow so we've both picked our teams.
She picked North Carolina, I'm all for LSU.
She wouldn't let Grams get away with USA, so she went with UCLA.
Not sure who Mom is for - Mom and I used to have 3 dollars on each game. I think I was up 9 by the end of the series.
The Cool Aunt and I have a new deal - whoever's team gets knocked out of the series first has to buy the next round of jalapeno margaritas.
I love LSU, I always root for them when they're in it - they throw me beads - but I do recognize a lot of the players from NC.
Sadly Stony Brook and Vanderbilt didn't make it - that would have been awesome.
We're all for the Black/Gold and Seawolves.
Games start tomorrow afternoon so my DVR is set.
We usually go but this year we are both super swamped.
By things like homework, ugh.
I feel bad for not starting my other class's homework - I'm taking two, however the homework for the other class isn't due until July 31st.
And there's no class participation cause it's online with no discussion boards.
So my plan is finish this one and then do that one.
But it still feels weird putting it off.
Especially when I spend all day doing homework for this one.
Anyway, when we got outside from dinner it looked all stormy - as was predicted for this whole weekend - but no rain or thunder yet.
Yet being the keyword.
Alright, I'm off.
Finally up to the new episode of Major Crimes.
Actual Huzzah!
Song of the day:
Runaway - Del Shannon
whoa. paul had hair.
retro.
Off to bed. Work tomorrow.

"Stay in the car." "My four favorite words."
See, people make fun of me for buying those gimic protection plans for headphones, but they don't realize how many pairs of earbuds I go through in a month.
Today I took in 2 broken sets after work and got them both replaced for free, huzzah!
I love Best Buy.
Though the Geek Squad's customer service is loathsome.
Like, I know you have lines of people and you're busy, but perhaps if you picked up the pace a bit or focused on your own customer instead of your coworkers 4 other customers you would get things done a little bit faster and in a more organized manner.
Was second in line, stood there for half an hour before anyone talked to me.
Makes me proud of our customer service skills at my library.
Which a lady mentioned to my supervisor today. Said I was much more patient and helpful than a different branch and that she was going to start coming to us instead.
Rock solid man.
So today...
Was good.
Flew by fast.
Did my final Library Golf preparations for tomorrow, now all that's left is to pick up the clubs, set up the holes and hope for the best.
I'm hoping that a lot of teens show up to participate.
But not like too many that will be overcrowded and overdramatic.
Or ones that think it's dumb and make fun of our arrangements.
I guess we shall see.
Other highlights include more training and special guest star visits from an old professor and the Authentically Amazing One and Only KB.
Whom I haven't seen in like months but we need a girls night.
And that's really all I remember about today. Oh, I uploaded my Summer Reading Kickoff pictures.
Yep, now that's all I remember about today.
Carter and I are jamming.
Watched Holly get eliminated on The Voice - called it, ugh Swon Brothers move on again.
Cassaddee Pope - my pick for last season's winner and actual winner - made a guest appearance unveiling her new single.
Is country.
And see, if she had any other coach things would be completely different.
Now we've moved on to Chuck season one.
Okay, more like moved back to Chuck season one.
Cause the boyfriend is having a bad day which means I'm having a bad day so naturally I flew back to a comedy - oh speaking of comedies, and anther thing I had forgotten about today...
BossLady and I think we should install a movie night for staff morale - ha!
We're thinking Emperor's New Groove.
It's classic.
The old intern and I were discussing our favorite animated movies, we're both fans of Robin Hood and Aladdin.
Then of course I had to ramble about the whole half of the Disney princes don't even have names let alone lines spiel, go here: Sketch and Edit Watch a Movie
But I think Emperor's New Groove is probably the funniest just because of Kronk and David Spade.
I have no idea what his actual name is, I just call him Kronk when I see him.
Though "Kronk's New Groove" was horrible. Don't watch it.
Where was I?
Oh right, Chuck.
Watched it while I did more homework.
I'm loving this whole one credit class thing. There are no due dates for the homework, it's all just "get it done by the last day of the semester" aka like the end of July.
Though I'll probably do it all on some weekend and get it over and done with.
Discussion Boards for my other class may kill me, especially this week as there are three, but I'm trying to keep up.
But that's it for tonight. I'm exhausted and calling it.
Carter and I are gonna crash.
Music and I'm out.
Here are some of my favorites from Chuck:
Fortunate Son - Jeffster
Jeffster rocks it.
Get Outta My Dreams - Billy Ocean
yep. that's all I got.
Oh.
I found the bug.
But it's too high.
And all of my chairs move when I stand on them.
And you know me and movable chairs.
Dressers fall over.
I pass out.
Smash my foot.
They call the Dean and then the whole world knows.
And yesterday when I tried to reach and smash it I totally missed so it's gotta be watching out for me now.
stupid bugs.
