So, I probably should have stayed late at work tonight to help out with the exhibition. Especially since I trained half the staff on the book. And can spout it front to back. Which is why it drives me nuts that the artwork on the displays is out of order, but that's another story.
But I came home instead because I have class tomorrow and I needed to finish up some homework before I crash and burn EARLY.
Cause I leave the apartment at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Which bites the big one, but it'll be okay. I think I'm eating with Smo after class and then there's the game.
Get to scream loud at the TV.
I hope they will be good screams, but you never know about underdogs.
Anyway, it's my last official Info Tech class tomorrow cause we're not meeting in December. And my teacher won't be there so we have a sub, bummer. But I still gotta be there early all coherent or fake coherent anyway.
Can you fake coherency?
I feel like I do that all the time.
Anyway, so yesterday sucked. Hence the no post. I've found it's better not to post if you have no positive things to talk about. And I really didn't.
Except the phone conversation I had with Sketch as we, well she, watched the CMA awards. I was mostly cleaning, doing laundry, making supper, doing homework, etc but it was on in the background.
Sketch is like country to the bone.
If that was a thing.
So she knows all the singers and the songs and all that. And usually I'm pretty good about this stuff but apparently I'm super behind on new country artists. Even after the conversation I was texting her, "who's that dude? is he really this bad or just live?"
He's knew I'm sure he'll get better.
But I love Blake and Miranda so I was excited that they won.

I was surprised that Taylor didn't win for the third year especially since RED is so huge and all that. Next year.
I was amused that it was her and like 5 dudes up as nominees. She rocks it.
Sketch is not a fan.
So I texted her when she got a standing ovation after her performance.
She was not amused.
Anyway, so that was really all from yesterday that I'm going to repeat. Today was much better.
Remember the artwork project thing that I had with my teens a couple weeks ago where we made posters and bookmarks and all that?
Today I had the pleasure of laminating - well, watching as Kathy laminated - all of the bookmarks and then got to cut each of them out - that was all me.
And there were like 50 so that was fun.
But the kids are excited about them and they all want their own so I had to make copies and whatever. Anyway, on one of them is this list of smart sounding words.
Which is really my fault cause there are four on a sheet and I'm not artistic - ask Sketch - so I was like, "what are some smart sounding words?" and they yelled a bunch out.
I gotta say, those teens make me look like an idiot.
And it's not just me.
I showed the bookmarks to a few of my bosses, they totally had to get on Google to figure out what half of the words meant.
One supervisor in particular *cough*Superwoman*cough* was dead set that this one word meant nose hair but it was actually like the smell of rain on the ground or I don't remember, something about rain. I'll look it up later.
But she thought it meant nose hair so that meant that there must be a similar word in existence that meant nose hair so she got on Google and I was like, "what are you going to type into Google? 'what's a smart sounding word for nose hair?!'"
Anyway, they attempted to guess the other words and were way off as well.
I mean, we got pantophobia from Charlie Brown, but the rest of them were like, um, maybe I should have looked these up before writing and then laminating them.
Didn't want to put anything inappropriate out there.
Not that they would cause they're good teens.
So that was amusing.
And really that was the highlight of the day, aside getting a comic from the Library Judge - formerly known as John Boy - because he creates them, every 20 years or so, and got them in the mail today. So I bought one cause he gave me the first one for free last year.
Gave him a dollar donation for his cause.
So that was my day in a nutshell.
Well, that and 9 hours of public service work.
But tomorrow I'm off - for class so it's not really off - and then Sunday I'm off - for class so it's not really off - so I'm not officially back at work until Monday morning so I had to send out all my email reminders before I left.
Got a TAB meeting next week and a bunch of new volunteers coming in for training. Should be interesting.
Alright, I'm out early.
Yes, it is actually pre-10:30 and a holy crap tag will be used. But did I mention I have to leave my apartment at 6:30 tomorrow?
For some of you readers I'm sure you think that 6:30 is sleeping in but let me tell you, 6:30? Definitely not sleeping in.
To me at least.
That's like super early and I need like 5 gallons of coffee to keep both eyes awake on the interstate.
Which is weird, because the middle of the night I can drive anywhere perfectly awake. It's the mornings that suck.

After I taught her how to do it.
Because she gave Space Cadet 150 points for doing it earlier.
After I taught HER how to do it.
I think she thinks that giving them points will motivate me to like do stuff to get points like be professional and all that.
Blah, what a mean boss. Making me actually earn something with work.

one without a permanent scar...
Big Husker victory tonight against Michigan, woohoo!
Brett Maher is back in action, redeeming himself for those previous missed field goals. Must have had Wheaties for breakfast.
Our defense really stepped it up, especially in the second half causing a lot of turnovers.
I watched the game with the boyfriend. We went out for half of it - steak and shrimp was great - and stayed in for the rest. I attempted to not yell at the TV as often as I do on my own or with my family.
Though I'm not quite as bad as my brother, but I explained that last week.
Anyway, glad to have a win since they were our last rated opponent and now we're at the top of the Legends Division of the Big 10. Next up Michigan State @ Michigan State. Should be interesting.
The game/dinner with the boyfriend came at the end of what was a pretty uneventful Saturday at the library. I checked my work mail this morning and saw like 6 new incident reports from yesterday alone, and since it was a home game I was expecting more, but the most rowdy the library got was when this one did wanted to talk to my supervisor about some expired hold fees.
And then he was fine.
I did fill out a program planning sheet and come up with a flyer for an upcoming TAB event. We're hopefully going to do some fun stuff with the community in a couple weeks, but we'll see what The Powers That Be have to say about it. Fingers crossed as my kids are excited about it - totally their idea - more on that later.
I did get to work twice with my Trainee which was fun as we never get scheduled together, and twice with BossLady who again dissed my shoe choice.
I LIKE THESE SHOES. I don't care that they're falling apart and their laces don't stay tied. I cut them twice already. But now there is a giant hole - well, in both of them - but in one especially to the point where my sole sticks out of the side and if I were to step in a puddle I'd be screwed. As Oldest Sister once told me, "I'm not going to stop praying for rain just because your feet are gonna get wet."
But I wore the last pair - the same brand and style but blue instead of grey - until they fell apart completely.
I have this weird quirk where I own a lot of shoes because I like shoes. Yet I wear the exact same pair every day until they die horrible deaths. I drag my feet which kills the bottoms of the shoes and the backs of them since they're rubbing against my heel. It always ends the same no matter what the brand or style - with holes in padding in the back and uneven soles due to the dragging, plus some tearing along the stitching.
I have no idea where I'm going with this or how I got here in the first place. Let me scroll up.
Oh right, so yes, BossLady made fun of my shoes SO I'm pulling out the duct tape! Just for survival sake.
And though I will no longer be able to wear them to work - while good conversation starters they wouldn't be very professional looking - I will still be able to wear them to things like church softball, and around the farm.

Even though I attempted to drown it out with two hours of Carrie Fisher's "Shockaholic" aka 1 disc on the way to the boyfriend's and 1 disc on the way back with 2 discs remaining. More on that later.

bang she shot you, karma tastes so...
Joe Studley calling in sick means me at the home branch all day, jamming out with my big brother coworker.
He's a cool guy so the day flew by fairly quickly.
Was amusing to go back to old habits, though he got the bookdrop I still went straight to routine with the holds list/expired/cancelled/counting money/checking in delivery/etc.
Hit up Arby's for lunch, that rocked.
And basically just jammed around all day.
Though for some reason I'm exhausted, which makes no sense cause while the work branch is constantly busy, the home branch is more relaxed. So it doesn't make sense.
Maybe it's a state of mind thing. Zenned out.
I'm tired.
And waking up early tomorrow morning so will probably konk out within the next few minutes.
Clips of the night were basically from - you know how you can go on youtube to find one video and you end up finding like eight you weren't planning to find?
It's like a train of thought thing like, "hey, i'm gonna look for culps seminar videos."

If You Seek Then You Shall Find
Maturity: A stoic response to endless reality. -Carrie Fisher
My hero...or one of the many. I finally got "Wishful Drinking" on DVD from the library. It's basically a taped standup act based on her biography book of the same title. "Wishful Drinking". Clever.
I liked it, but I listened to the book on CD so I knew most of what she was going to talk about. What's funny though is that I was able to quote it AND the book as well as I listened to them even though I'd never heard/seen them before.
I blame this clip. There are a lot of direct quotes. And yes, I've watched it that many times.
"Because there is no underwear in space"
"that chick, the new girl who plays my mother, Queen Armadillo or whatever her name is..."
I still die of laughter.
If you like that then you'd like her book, well books. She writes fiction as well. They're quite popular actually. One even got made into a movie with Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine.
The funny part about that is that it was based on real life experiences, and her actual mother - Debbie Reynolds - auditioned for the mother role and got beat out by Shirley MacLaine. Even though it was essentially her.
The book/DVD talks a lot about family, marriage, mood swings, fame and circles back to family. I enjoy it because she's able to relay all the bad things that happened in her life and turn them into comedy.
Plus there are Star Wars anecdotes and I'm all about those.
Scale of Awesome says 7/10. It excludes a lot that's in the book, but then includes stuff that's not in it as well. I was just hoping there would be more in there. But I guess since it's an HBO thing she only has so much time. But the DVD does include deleted scenes and an exclusive interview with Debbie Reynolds. Who lives next door to Carrie. I find that amusing.

speaking of fairy tales and serendipitous encounters i taped Once Upon A Time tonight on ABC, stoked to watch that on the DVR. will do that next before i crash.

Alright, plans for tomorrow: Homework. Gotta read a book and draw up some blueprints. I'm stoked to knock out that back wall and expand. Gonna add on a computer lab and a study room. Plus some couches. Maybe some vending machines. People always ask about those.
And at some point I need to go pick up a jersey for Squirt. And get pop. Seriously, wish #1 on my list is a never-ending supply of Diet Dr. Pepper. I can live without food, but the second I run out of that I run to the store.

This is a week of my favorite things Day Six: Youtube clips
Today was awful. But family always helps. We had cake for Gram's birthday. The cool aunt did some 'creative cutting' around the wording. It was nice. Totally loud, probably could have gotten thrown out with all of our noisemakers - Gram was the loudest!! But we hung out, watched some reality TV, ate cake and drank asti. Good times.
