Security Guard is Coming Around - Parody #15

Security Guard is Coming Around
Written by CK
To the tune of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"

You better watch out
You better comply
Better not shout
I’m telling you why
Security Guard is coming around

No need to resist
That’s my advice
We’ve already banned you
This year twice
Security Guard is coming around

He sees you when you’re sleeping
He’ll make sure you’re awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

You better watch out
You better comply
Better not shout
I’m telling you why
Security Guard is coming around

He sees you when you’re sleeping
He’ll make sure you’re awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

You better watch out
You better comply
Better not shout
I’m telling you why
Security Guard is coming around

Original Lyrics - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list
And checking it twice;
He's gonna find out
Who's naughty or nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

You better watch out!
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake

You better watch out!
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

That some day it would lead me back to you...

More Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck: Day Three

Christmas Wrapping - Front Bottoms

Okay so they're nuts, but they don't sound bad.

2011 was The Waitresses, 2012 was The Donnas, 2013 was Save Ferris

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Im5

Yet another boy band. I especially love their cover of NSync's "It's Gonna be Me" Looks like they lost a member somewhere along the way. They also have a cool mashup of Christmas music here.

2011 was Glee, 2012 was Michael Buble, 2013 was Cimorelli

Let it Snow - Hannah Cho

Okay so she's a bit awkward, but her voice is crazy good. Check out her Frozen cover or my favorite, her cover of Maroon 5's Sunday Morning. Incredible.

2011 was Michael Buble, 2012 was Frank Sinatra, 2013 was Christina Perri

2011 Day Three - You Better Not Pout, I'm Telling You Why
2012 Day Three - You Mean You Forgot Cranberries Too?
2013 Day Three - Darth Vader follows me on Twitter

Monday, December 16, 2013

Darth Vader follows me on Twitter. Take that world.

Okay, fair warning this post is going to be music-filled cause Voice finals were tonight along with The Sing Off which I put off watching though I don't know why cause after tonight holy crap.

Seriously, watch this and tell me you aren't a fan.

Yep, going back to watch the rest of the season.

Oh look, Pentatonix.

That explains why they're everywhere.

Anyway, before all this there wasn't a lot of music, minus when I was off desk cause I do listen to my headphones when I'm off desk.

Do some dancing and all that in the elevators.

Though you really have to watch out for which elevator you're in cause we have two and one has a bigass window and that would just be bad.

The other one is super slow and claustrophobic so to pass the time it works.

Where was I?

Oh right, work.

Work was super slow today - think it was the weather, everyone was outside instead.

It was a sweltering 40-some degrees today.

You scoffed at that, but 40-something is sweltering for December in Nebraska.

There's people outside in shorts.

It's madness.

And it's supposed to continue to swelter this week and hit 49 at some point. I'm hoping the trend is slowness doesn't continue as well.

But, I do actually get a lot done when it's slow so it wasn't all that bad.

We're working on getting plastic bags for the checkout which is super boring to you, I'm aware, but big for us, well me since I'm supplies and have to write a proposal for it and all that.

Thankfully I have Superwoman around to make it all shiny and stuff.

Speaking of shiny stuff, I got my final GPA. I finished with a 3.978 which out of 4.0 isn't all that bad.

Would have been a 4.0 if not for that lone A-

Mean.

*cough*Library Goddess*cough*

What else from today that's not music-related?

Oh, so I posted on Twitter something I found online that goes a little something like this:

Jingle bells,
Twilight smells,
Edward ran away.
Bella dies,
Jacob cries,
Star Wars all the way.

Half an hour later I get a notification that Darth Vader now follows me on Twitter.

So take that world.

It's sad, but I'm proud of that.

Brother will be super jealous, though not jealous enough to actually join Twitter. Or any social network at all for that matter.

He's a lot like my dad, they're both luddites.

Dad's only experience with technology are his smart tractors and his reality-filled DVR.

Or "reality" that is.

Duck Dynasty. Swamp People. American Pickers. Big Shrimpin'. Ax Men. Pawn Stars.

There's more should I go on?

Anyway, I'm pumped. Now I will have to find more Star Wars humor and post it to keep him on my side.

Okay, now on to the music.

So yes, tonight was the Voice finals. Tessanne rocked it. She's still my number one and I think she deserves to win, but I'm secretly cheering for Will cause he's the complete underdog.

He lost in the battles then got stolen by Xtina. He lost in the knockouts then got stolen back by Adam. He beat out James, Cole and Matthew which is madness and he did it all in style.

I know, I know, you don't care, but you should watch this cause it's excellent.

Tiny Dancer

I cheered when I heard "take on an Elton John classic" then attempted to guess what it would be. Not even close.

Love those guys.

Anyway, for the - well, second to - last time here's my Top 20:

Top 20

Red - Adam
Pink - Xtina
Green - Blake
Grey - CeeLo

Tessanne Chin
Matthew Schuler - Eliminated in lives
Holly Henry - Eliminated in knockouts
Kat Robichaud - Eliminated in lives
Grey - Eliminated in live rounds

Brandon Chase - Eliminated in knockouts
Michael Lynch - Eliminated in battles
Timyra Joi - Eliminated in battles
Briana Cuoco - Eliminated in battles
Jacquie Lee

Tamara Chauniece - Eliminate in lives
Ashley Dubose - Eliminated in battles
Monika Leigh - Eliminated in battles
Shelbie Z - Eliminated in lives
James Wolpert - Eliminated in lives

Josh Logan - Eliminated in live
Caroline Pennel - Eliminated in lives
Johnny Gray - Eliminated in lives
Olivia Henken - Eliminated in lives
Ray Boudreaux - Eliminated in lives

So go Tessanne, Jacquie and Will. Whoever wins you deserve it cause this year's was crazy competitive.

Alright, on to the actual music.

Day Three of Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck

Tonight's song choices are:

Christmas Wrapping - Save Ferris

oh my god, was not expecting the twist on the lyrics, love it.

2011 was The Waitresses, 2012 was The Donnas

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Cimorelli

no, i don't expect you to know who they are, but you should check them out. they've done a ton of covers, my favorite of which is probably Call Me Maybe that they turn into an 80's workout video.

2011 was Glee, 2012 was Michael Buble

Let It Snow - Christina Perri

love her, she's great, but you know that already since i've posted like 8 things by her already on here.

2011 was Michael Buble, 2012 was Frank Sinatra

this was a close second for that last one:

shutup wesley!

2011 Day Three - You Better Not Pout, I'm Telling You Why
2012 Day Three - You Mean You Forgot Cranberries Too?

and speaking of 80's workout videos, check this out if you haven't already:

Library. Desk. Potatoes.

out, legit pre-midnight, holy crap tag in use.

Sunday, December 16, 2012

you mean you forgot cranberries too?

Aw, the home branch.

Got the message from Julie but I was in the shower so I didn't get there 'til 11:30.

Which is the time I was supposed to start at the work branch anyway.

Interesting day at the work branch as it was our 50th anniversary celebration.

With 3 employees working.

To cover that entire building.

Stuffed with people.

At least I hope it was stuffed cause it is kind of a big thing.

But then again I hope it wasn't stuffed cause then I'd feel bad for the New Girl, BossLady, and Slim Shady.

And no I didn't realize those rhymed until I typed them.

I'm sure it was fine. Enough people to cover both floors.

Oh well, I got to spend my day with Space Cadet. Which is always entertaining.

We debate and then she slips me recipes.

Today it was french toast.

But there wasn't as much debate as usual. Though really not a lot of debates can top who would win in a fight: a snow leopard or a sea cow.

Long story, Go here: I guess I'll go home it's late. There'll be tomorrow night, but wait...

Meanwhile the boyfriend is still sleeping with my big fat cat on his stomach.

Did I mention we got home super late?

But he works nights so he needs to sleep during the day. And as he couldn't last night I let him sleep.

Cause it would suck to have to switch back and forth like that.

It was amusing when I came home with lunch at 3:15 and he was still konked out. Though he was awake when I got home around 6:15. Ate supper, watched a movie and he headed to work.

Tomorrow is margaritas and fajitas with the Cool Aunt but first is work. I get to go in an hour late but I still need to konk out soon.

So, on to the music.

Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck: Day Three

Christmas Wrapping - The Donnas
love their song "take it off" but haven't heard anything out of them since.

last year's was the original - aka the Waitresses - but the one I grew up on is still the spice girls, maybe next year.

Santa Claus is Coming To Town - Michael Buble

michael buble can sing anything. except maybe rap. though i'd like to see him try.

last year's i believe was from the glee soundtrack.

Let It Snow - Frank Sinatra

you can never go wrong with the classics and frank is the epitome of classic.

last year's was michael buble - big surprise there

For last year's Day Three go here

Sunday, May 13, 2012

i says "let them truckers roll, 10-4."

Okay, words to describe today...there are a few.

Tiring: slept in, gonna go to church tomorrow night as I did not sleep well last night at all. stupid cat.

Relaxing: work on Sundays is mostly slow, think it's the lowest circulation of the week so it's mostly monitoring the computer lab and checking out at the front desk.

Crazy: impromptu mother's day dinner at oldest sister's house means family/small children galore. but it was fun as usual. and i got steak. i gave mom her present last week - a margarita set complete with four glasses, mix and salt. the rest of them got her lighting for her house as we've had the same lighting since they bought the place. or maybe a few years after.

Amusing: "it's mother's day and they give us Avatar?!" yeah. not a great movie to be playing on mother's day FX. and really, not a great movie to be playing any other day of the year. i'm sorry james cameron, i know that you changed the face of cinema or whatever but i really was not so impressed with that movie.

Contemplative: we also watched some youtube clips. squirt agrees about my camp j theory. i'm thinking of making my teen helpers do the perfect cheer. thoughts?

Dominating: bubby challenged me to some SSX Tricky on the PS3. i told him he was going down and he didn't believe me. i mean, i only beat the boy by a couple hundred thousand points each time. no big deal really. but i let him win the last one, kept biting the dust on purpose. well, snow. cause you gotta keep hope alive. otherwise he won't play me anymore.

But that's the first game I owned for PS2, got it Christmas of like...oh god, I'm thinking like 2002? 2003 Maybe? Whenever it first came out. Cause I got a PS2 for Christmas and a racing game to go with it. They rocked.

But then we all got DDR/Rockband Fever so I haven't played SSX in a while.

Still dominated.

Now it's back to Relaxing. Get to sleep in as I don't have to go in until 4. Basically gotta make up the 2 hours that we don't get on Sundays cause it's 12-6 instead of 10-6. And you gotta have five 8 hour days for 40.

But I like it this way, get to sleep in, run some errands, go in for two hours, go to church then come home and crash just to work 8 hours the next day.

I like my job so I have no complaints.

Songs of the day:

Okay, so here were the exact versions of the 2 songs stuck in my head all day.

Folsom Prison Blues - Jamie Lono

"cause i eat sandwiches..."

Santa Clause is Coming To Town
not kidding.

on repeat.

in my head.

all day.

drove me nuts.

make it stop.

gotta find something else to make it go away.

oh my god, you gotta watch this. the story of Hanukkah as told through song.

i think my favorite is moves like jagger.

freakin' youtube, it's like yesterday with the train of thoughts. let me find an actual music rec...

Convoy - CW McCall

cause it's a family holiday, gotta throw in one of these. family classic. lip-sync central. i just love that he's so serious through this whole thing.

Alright, I'm off to read and/or watch some Friday Night Lights. the series is pretty good so far but I'm only a couple discs into the first season, we'll see if it entices me enough to put a hold on the second season.

You better not pout, I'm telling you why

Alright, it's on.

The weekends are posted - of coures they're posted the one day i left my planner at home - so Sketch and I picked out our weekend. A weekend between our birthdays we're gonna meet up halfway, so basically somewhere in the middle of Iowa, and hang there for a weekend jamming out, taking pictures of random things, and calling it Sketch and Edit's Excellent Adventure. I'm stoked.

But it's really funny because we were looking for hotels and there's this one next to a shopping mall, and neither of us are shoppers so we were like, eh. Whatever. Then a different one has a waterpark, again, eh. Whatever. So I guess there's one with a bar next door, so that's probably the one where we'll end up.

I'm excited, I think it will be fun.

Alright, on the rec's before I ramble you into insanity.

Christmas Music that doesn't suck: Day Three

Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses

see, i'm used to the spice girls very british version of this, so when i first heard this one the actual lyrics threw me way off. both versions are fantastic, and brittany did pull it off pretty well on the glee soundtrack.

Santa Claus is Coming To Town - Glee cast version

speaking of glee, i like finn and puck, mostly puck because i think his voice it better especially if he's playing guitar, but this one is excellent for both of them.
but i love this version cause it's like santa claus the rock and roll version.

Let It Snow - Michael Buble

this man could remake anything and make it fantastic. not that this wasn't already fantastic, but i'm saying all of michael's music is pretty fantastic. so you really can't go wrong posting something of his, even if it is just a cover.

tomorrow is shopping central. gotta wake up before noon for this one, shop 'til i drop then head to the farm. i'm way behind, gotta keep going before it's the 23rd already and i've got nothing!

Still having some formatting issues with the dancing videos. might have to upload them to facebook and then embed from there, ugh.
