I'm curious about the person who got to my blog by searching for "horse and cow captions".

But I guess this is supposed to be my life in closed captions.

And I've seen horses and cows.

So they are part of my life in closed captions.

Almost as good as the time they landed here after looking up "exploded babysitter" - I went through an All That phase - or "O Lord of Light" and ended up with 2G's version of O Lord of Light.

The majority of the people find me through movie quotes, a lot of Pitch Perfect, Avengers, the last Harry Potter was the first big one. Everyone kept searching for McGonagall's "I always wanted to use that spell" and ended up here.

Geez, that was a while ago. Summer 2011, but I've had this thing for a long time. The first official entry was on Remember Remember the 5th of November.

You'd think since I've been doing it this long - today's being my 713th post - I would know what to say and how to say it.

Nope, still clueless.

So let's focus on today.

Today was good, much better than yesterday. Charmed helped. Much to Sensei's amusement I'm sure.

Did a lot of updates to the TAB website, got free food for lunch from the bosses as a thanks for training new employees - we got props because they officially work at a different branch but we trained them cause we had the staff numbers to do it - jammed with my Trainee for most of the day and last hour of the day was spent in the circ workroom checking in 8 carts.

Challenge conquered.

So it was a good day at work.

After work headed out to the boyfriend's place. We watched Coming to America cause he and his best friend quote it ALL THE TIME and I had no idea what they were talking about.





He loves it and it's actually quite amusing. Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall shine through - I could barely recognize them in their different disguises. Except for that chick in the nightclub, that was definitely Arsenio Hall hitting on Arsenio Hall. Even IMDb lists her as "Extrememly Ugly Girl".

Eddie's still got it though. While Norbit turned into more of a horror movie than a comedy his Shrek stuff is great and he was a pretty funny criminal in Tower Heist.

So excited for a day off tomorrow. Getting my hair chopped, but not like chopped chopped cause I could never pull that off.

I think last time I got 6 inches cut off and it was still long.

But that's not 'til the afternoon, in the meantime I'm sleeping in! Well, the farmhouse version of sleeping in which means whatever time Dad decides I should be up or when Mom starts to worry that I'm dead or something.

Anyway, gonna do some more editing, konk out and get back at ya tomorrow for number 714.

Chocolate Fixes Everything

Queen of the Known Universe is really the queen.

We had this massive update of our ILS system last night and it has some glitches. So there were a lot of frantic moments, mostly this morning.

So, when our Assistant Director comes down to check on us and asks how it’s going she says something to the effect of, “you know what would make it better? Chocolate.”

Jokingly of course.

He goes to lunch.

Comes back with bags of chocolate.

For serious.

Made my day.

I totally busted out laughing cause it was oh my god, he actually brought us chocolate!

And it helped man. We were stoked. Chocolate really does fix all.

I figured that out in high school. An old friend of mine and myself had this theory that just kept getting expanded on.

Originally it was chocolate fixes all. Then it was chocolate and Moulin Rouge fixes all. Then it was chocolate, Moulin Rouge, and apple juice fixes all. And I think it ended with chocolate, Moulin Rouge, apple juice and Carrie’s broken chair fixes all.

Yes I had a broken chair.

And it was awesome.

It was a recliner that stabbed you if you walked by too closely cause the footrest was broken.

My parents hated it cause I brought it home with me from the dorms.

Shortly after I moved out it mysteriously disappeared.

Hmmm…much like my Titans hat that I wore every day…

I’m lucky I escaped with my tearaways! Though I’m sure people are proud that I rarely wear them anymore. As I don’t really have a chance.

Didn’t we just have this conversation? I’m a workaholic? Right? Yeah, we figured that out a couple days ago.

Not that it wasn’t apparent before then.

But this whole chocolate thing is killing my good behavior for the dentist. Apparently I drink too much pop and chew too much gum. Now Mom wants to buy me a water pik, whatever that is, but it would probably be useful. Then maybe I wouldn't have to give up the pop and gum. Cause that's clearly not happening.

Tonight was fun. Had sushi and a movie with Oldest Sister and family. We watched Tower Heist - which I took the kids to see in theaters - and it had alternate endings. They were both good and should have been added, cause you could have the original and both the additions. They should have them.

Oh well, guess more people will have to watch the DVD to see them.

We still died, actually Squirt and I kept going, it's almost to the best part, sh it's coming up!

Then the maid went rogue, ran into the FBI guy with the cart and said into the radio, "he was allergic to chocolate, i had to beat him" and we both died.

Best part of the whole movie, though the whole thing is good.

It's hard to have a bad movie when you have so many good actors in it. Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Matthew Broderick, Casey Affleck, Gabourey Sidibe, Alan Alda, even Téa Leoni was pretty badass in it. Though the last movie I saw with her in it was Fun With Dick and Jane...which wasn't too fantastic.

Guess what?!

I get to sleep in tomorrow! So don't call me tomorrow morning! Cause I'm sleeping passed noon.

I'm still exhausted. Girlscout says maybe I have mono. I went NOOO!! Don't even say it!!!

I had that once before and it was not cool.

But I'm tired all the time. Oldest Sister says I just haven't caught up on sleep yet. Which is true, I haven't been sleeping much lately.

Tonight I will. Gonna put in some Charlie's Angels season one and crash with my big fat cat.

I'm still counting car crashes, I bet I can reach double digits by disc 4!

Finally saw "This Means War" - Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon and Chelsea Handler.


Slim Shady and I hit up the matinee, it was hilarious. Chris and Tom were great as allies and enemies, plus Reese is always funny, then you throw in Chelsea Handler...have you seen Chelsea Lately or read any of her books? She's hysterical!

"I think I'm going to hell."
"Don't worry, if you're going to hell I'll just come pick you up. Save me a drink."

Great addition to the cast, loved it! Might even have to check out her new show, I do enjoy Laura Prepon.

This Means War: the storyline was intriguing, there wasn't a down moment where I was checking my watch, there was a lot of great action sequences and comedic moments...

Survey says 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome. Will definitely want to see it again or at least buy it when it comes out.

I caved and bought "Tower Heist", the DVD comes with alternate endings so I'm intrigued about those. That movie was pretty funny and under-rated. "He was allergic to chocolate so I had to beat him." I left the movie crying cause I was laughing so hard at that line.

Duuuude. The Voice...rocks. Sad I missed the first season and totally curious as to what comes next after the blind auditions...and if it will be as good as the blind auditions, that's really unique.

Anybody watch Castle tonight? Apparently I totally missed last week's end to the two-part but it's on my DVR so I'll catch it.

Tonight's was uber-creepy with a fairy-tale twist. Had me flashing back to Women's Murder Club when they turned Kiss-Me-Not into Prince Charming...but then the creators left (or get kicked out that's debatable) taking the storyline with them and we ended up with Billy the serial killer, total let down. But it's okay. It was fixed. Show wasn't the same without the original creators and pretty sure that's why it ended.

Sorry. Ramble-nation over.

Anyway, Oldest Sister called the ending of Castle mid-way through the episode and I kept thinking "Reaper! Reaper! Reaper!" Which, if you've seen Criminal Minds you'll understand, and if you haven't...then you're missing out on some seriously good TV cause the Reaper episodes of CM were possibly the best, especially episode #100. Sad day.

So that was my day. A movie, some TV, and 2 hours of work in between. Yeah, I showed up at 4 and ended up writing an incident report before 4:30, it's never boring at the library.

Other than that...Squirt helped me pull some books for a new YA display, we're going simple and pulling books with green covers for March - thanks Fearless Leader - now I just gotta finish the sign, print it, and change some statuses.

but everytime I hear it I visualize this...cause I've seen the movie that many times. actually, i've probably seen this more times than i've heard the regular song on the radio. i know, i'm a fan, get over it.

I was going to post the alumni vs. called worker/grade school tournament pictures on Facebook but I don't think I can make it.

I feel like crap. If you haven't noticed already. I'm freezing, shaking, coughing, sneezing, my nose won't stop running, my throat hurts and I'm getting a headache.

If it keeps up tomorrow I'm staying home. Which is saying something, cause usually I power through. My only problem with staying home - aside from missing work that I actually enjoy - is that tomorrow is Grams birthday, and I was planning on going there to celebrate with her and the Cool Aunt and eat some cake.

Maybe it's best if I stay home, don't want to get her sick.

This bites. Where's my fat cat? Somehow when I'm sick he knows not to bite me and just falls asleep in my lap.

I'm out, gonna take some ibuprofen before my head explodes in pain.

Things that amused me today:

-The Reference Queen: we worked together today pretty much on and off, but at one point there was a patron who walked through, and like 5 seconds after he had passed by everyone in the area just cringed. Suddenly she gets up and gets this de-odor spray and basically follows him through the building. I died.

-Squirt and Bubby: they're always funny stuff, but I always have fun taking them places. This time we hit up "Tower Heist" cause Bubby didn't want to see Twilight, yay! Anyway, oh man, the ride over there was hilarious by itself. "What are they feeding those birds?!" "Those must be some big seeds."

-Tower Heist: this movie was hysterical. I was stoked cause I still hadn't seen it. I used to go to movies all the time, but now that I'm working I rarely make any. I'm just going to have to start going again, stag or something. Or not. But that's a
longer story and internal debate. ANYWAY, Tower Heist, I give it a 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome, purely because of one line, although the rest of it was pretty funny as well. And a good storyline. I wasn't able to predict it, I thought I knew what would happen but was nowhere near it.


The Maid going rogue was my favorite part of the movie.
*minor spoiler alert*
She rammed a guard with her cart after he wouldn't eat the drugged cake, and when they asked her response was, "He was allergic to chocolate so I had to beat him." and that was it. I laughed so hard I cried. and left the theater that way.

THEN! We try getting out of the parking garage and it won't read my ticket, keeps saying transaction cancelled - obnoxious - so we had to use the intercom and the dude says the one in the middle is always doing that, so if you use that garage, take the one on the right, don't use the middle lane. It just makes the kids in the car laugh at you.

Anyway, it was a really amusing day.

And tomorrow is only a partial day, I just gotta finish with the paperwork I keep putting off, go sign up for a parking spot, send some mail, and work for 2 hours with GLB. Woohoo!

I was reluctant to listen to their music because everyone was fawning over that fireflies song. I heard it once and wasn't all that impressed, then I bought some of the songs off itunes and they're actually pretty good. and the Fireflies song has grown on me as well.
