So apparently Omaha is going to the Superbowl.
Which makes me feel obligated to cheer for the Broncos.
If that makes sense.
Apparently he calls the play "Omaha" a lot and people from Nebraska are going nuts and giving a bunch of money to charity every time he yells it.
It's kind of a big deal.
Not that I was big fan of Seattle, but I can honestly say I have never before cheered for the Broncos and it will be a totally new experience.
Broncos were my ex's team, if you couldn't figure that out.
I was always more of a Titans girl, but they sucked it up this year so they had no chance.
Current boyfriend really doesn't give a crap about pro football, or college really just the Huskers, so I don't even know if we'll watch it. We did last year for the commercials.
But I'm pretty sure at least 70% of the viewers only do watch it for the commercials.
Don't give me that look, you're probably one of them.
Anyway, it'll be interesting for sure.
And I guess Nebraska was gonna be featured anyway since we made that Pepsi commercial.
Look it's Bruce Lee.
Or Lee Brice, sorry Sketch.
I think if I say it enough times she'll get mad enough to drive all the way down here just to smack me.
From Illinois.
Anyway, they filmed it here in like 15 degree weather so... looking forward to seeing that finished product.
Whatever, what else?
I'm jamming at the farmhouse. Going back at some point tomorrow cause we got the hockey game tomorrow night.
Slept in this morning, ate good food, watched some TV, just jammed out. It was nice to get away from everything for a couple of days.
Mom and I watched some Castle, Major Crimes, and Hollywood Game Night.
I about had a heart attack when I realized both Alyssa Milano and Paget Brewster were on in the same episode, though on opposing teams. Which sucked. Alyssa won, btw. And next week is Angie Harmon. Which means my screams will be louder and more frequent. Perhaps I should prepare the neighbors.
I'm a nerd, get used to it.
And then Lola Glaudini - aka Elle Greenaway - was on Castle, another Criminal Minds alum. Gotta love it. Though I guess Paget is coming back for the 200th cause JJ got kidnapped. Which means I may have to actually watch that one.
I'm way behind.
But I was lazy today. To be fair I was more active yesterday. Work then out with the boyfriend. We saw Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.
It was alright. Interesting seeing the director play the bad guy. Scale of Awesome says 6/10. It would have been better if the guy behind us stopped talking and the guy in front of us got off Facebook.
For serious.
That's really all I remember about yesterday.
No wait, the cops were called cause of a drunk guy.
And this other guy continues to follow me around.
More on that later.
I'm zonked. Gonna crash. Hope you all had an awesome holiday.
Song of the Day:
Your Woman - White Town
one of my favorite songs from the 90's. which makes me sad cause the boyfriend had never heard of it. i can't believe i haven't posted this recently, i've heard it over and over.
if you don't know, become educated, it is wicked.
and i'm out.
Oh, did anyone watch SNL? Loving the new girl! Drake wasn't bad either.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

"who eats pudding at ten o'clock in the morning?" "people who like pudding."
He shoots, he scores, hey goalie, you suck!
Stars won 5-1 over Des Moines.
The boyfriend and I hit up the game last night.
I was starting to get worried. The first game I went to like 10 years ago we won but every game since we've gotten hosed so I was stoked last night when we went up 3-0 by the end of the first period.
Traffic was a nightmare cause the basketball team was also playing at the same time. We ended up parking out way by the gate, but it still took forever to leave the parking lot.
So that was the highlight for yesterday, though I was amazingly productive with homework and other paperwork stuff.
And I took a nap so that was fun, oh and I started the show Lie To Me. So far I'm liking it. Saying about 8/10 but I literally have just watched 1 episode. And with some shows the pilot is rockstar quality and then the second episode is complete crap so we'll see how this one goes.
Today was fun, had the baby's birthday party, aka Second Sister's youngest.
Though my mom called me her baby today. Even though I'll be 25 in like 2 weeks.
But I will forever be her baby, apparently.
A fact that gives my siblings endless fodder, labeling me a delicate flower or a pane of glass.
But that's a longer story.
Anyway, the birthday party was fun. As the baby is just turning one she's not really into anything yet so it was all about rainbows. Second Sister's pretty creative so they were everywhere.
Many cute pictures will be added to Facebook I'm sure. And speaking of Facebook, our team picture from trivia night is now officially posted. Perhaps I shall have to add that on here once I get mine uploaded.
After the party I went out to the boyfriend's place to watch the Super Bowl.
Not really a fan of either team but I was rooting for the 49'ers. After the random power outage they really stepped up but then lost momentum right when they needed it.
Bummer.
I gotta say, I totally flipped out when the rest of Destiny's Child showed up during Beyonce's halftime show.
I'm a total nut for them. Or I was, go here or here.
But that was the only good thing about that halftime show.
I mean, I like her and I like her music but I like it when she actually sings her music, not just dances to it while it plays in the background.
Though as crappy as that was it's still not as bad as when the Black Eyed Peas took the stage a few years ago.
Man, they were awful live.
But I'm a fan of them too so that was depressing.
We missed the first part of the game so maybe I missed some but I wasn't all that impressed by the commercials this year. The only one I actually remember was the Kaley Cuoco one, which I guess wasn't bad but the rest just seemed dumb.
The game seemed to last a while though with that delay and the boyfriend totally fell asleep by the 4th quarter so I actually made it back to my apartment before midnight.
I know, I'm in shock.
So now it's back to Lie To Me - episode 2 is pretty good so far but I have a massively massive headache so I will be signing off now as I can't bare to stare at this screen any longer.
Music Rec before I crash:
I haven't heard this song since the last time I watched Get Smart - so like years ago - but heard it not once but twice today on my ipod. I figured it was a sign to post it.
Madonna/Justin Timberlake/Timberland - 4 Minutes
so which is it? are you out of time or do you have four minutes?
i feel like this video should have been much bigger with more effects. like when they're randomly dancing on cars. need to be explosions in the background or something.
and she's out.

Kickstart my heart, give it a start
Not that impressed with the commmercials this year.
Granted I did miss half the game.
Cause yes, I made it to work!
The parking lot was plowed and my awesome brother in law dug out my car. It was the only one dug out this morning, which rocked.
I'll catch the rest of the commercials online tomorrow.
Work flew by pretty fast, though it wasn't all that busy. I sent in a bunch of recommendations, and Info-man set me up for another booklist, we're thinking Hunger Games - so similar storylines, themes, characters, etc. Should be fun and good timing as the movie is coming out soon.
After that is was watching the superbowl with the boyfriend. I went Patriots by 7 and asked my coworkers what they thought, which was interesting because no one seemed to care at all.
Oh well, it was a good game.
And I had fun texting back and forth with a friend as she was cheering for the giants.
Yeah, live it up.
The Voice is actually a pretty good show, I'm stoked. I like Adam Levine and Christina, and Cee-Lo seems cool, Blake Shelton seemed really strict as he hardly voted for anyone. I might have to add that to my DVR. Not that I get time to watch any of those anyway.
Tomorrow I'm headed to the commission for a class assignment - interview a tech services professional.
My prof works there, set me up for who I should talk to and all that. So that rocks, cause she knows what I need to know.
The fatal flaw with that though is that she knows what I need to know, so it's a blessing and a curse, cause it'll be a high pressure paper.
She knows what they'll say and the process there. So I tried mapping out my questions and all that. Little nervous.
Oh well. I'm a good writer.
Or I pretend to be.
I can't be completely awful, after all you're still reading this.
Now I just gotta figure out how to get there.
I'm gonna crash, I'll hit you with some music and sign off.
"Kickstart My Heart" Mötley Crüe
was on the gran tourismo video game for ps2 and i got hooked, hey, we gotta start somewhere. love it. actually liked that commercial, purely for the song.
had to copy and paste the band name, i feel like peanut from jeff dunham, it's not on the keyboard!
"Give Me Three Steps" Lynyrd Skynyrd
not as widely known, but an awesome jam and dance song.
jef-f dun ham....dot com!

"What's a Bieber?" - extended clips and a world of superbowl fun
the extended cut "ALL ABOARD!! the 5G train."
the bloopers of the extended cut "I am the prince of darkness!!"
hahahahahaha, oh man, my sister and niece and I watched the extended cut over and over. It was our favorite, followed closely by Cars.com's "Is it safe?" *gets hit by arrows* "Nope." or any of Pepsi Max's and then that hotel tester thing with the "test baby" Cindy was so offended by that "Smashing a baby against a window?! That's just wrong!!" Then after we found it online it she said it, "brings a tear of hilarity to my eyes." She was mostly offended by the smushy baby face against the window. But her trying to be offended by the commercial while laughing so hard at it made Mandy fall over, literally. If only commercials were always this enjoyable.
Time with family is always fun. I don't remember which play it was but, Mandy was like "how many guys was that?" Then, my nephew, while doing math, answers, "Four: him, himself, and that other guy." "That's three," Rick and I chimed in at the same time. So funny and ironic as he was doing math homework at the time.
Then Sue Sylvester making them slap themselves with chicken cutlets, oh man. Mom loved it. Hilarious. Although, the best song on there was probably "bills, bills, bills" performed by Dalton Academy - well, for me anyway it brought me back to grade school, gotta love Destiny's Child. Yep, Me = Generation when Destiny's Child was more than just Beyonce. There were 6 altogether; it started with 4 then 2 left and they got 2 more then 1 left then they split and started sueing each other, and only Kelly and Beyonce had any success. and yes I was a fan I'm sure you can tell.
Today was kind of funny. Cause now I officially live in this apartment. I mean I've slept here since May but now I officially live here because now there's stuff hung up on the walls. It feels weird. It's like permanent. Plus I have a new TV which was a bday present but I got it early cause they had time to buy it and set it up. So now I actually have a living room that's livable. It looks completely different. That means I should probably start hanging up posters in my bedroom. Yep, that generation again, get over it.
Tomorrow means halfday and it's the later half so I can still sleep in and eat breakfast and stuff. In the morning. Breakfast in the morning? What a concept!!

"I'm so glad that spellcheck doesn't have a 'duh'..."
So, today was a halfday - got to sleep in, made breakfast, scanned the jseries books AND there was actually stuff for me to shelve today - I was so excited. But soon summer reading will start again and I will be overloaded so maybe I should be thankful that it's slow.
Remember how I haven't finished a book since I started working in the library system? I picked up a new one that I love because I don't have to read it all. Hooray for library newsletters! It's called "Touch me, I'm sick: the 52 Creepiest Love Songs" (weird title i'm aware) and it basically lists all these songs, gives a summary and then explains why they're creepy. So funny, and perfect because I don't have time to read a whole book. I can just skim and flip to songs I've actually heard of, awesomeness. But I was on the phone with my best friend while reading and ran into Whiskey Lullaby which she loves so she's mad it's in there. But the description was hilarious, "cheatin' + drinkin' + shootin' = ballad" seriously hilarious. Tom Reynolds is the author. It's definitely worth checking out. He also wrote the 52 most depressing songs which is next on my list.
Aside from work, today was mostly filled with finishing the homework due in approx. 4 minutes from now. But I finished it around 5:30, I know right?! I was so proud. But it meant going over my notes which led me to my quotes page. I carry around quote books wherever I go, I had one for each year of college and they're filled with stuff that friends said and professors and just like writing ideas and stuff. They're falling apart because I take them everywhere. So, since the Library Goddess is my prof I figured I'd have to start another one. And she is the library goddess - she has the plaque to prove it. These are just a few of my favorites from her and my classmates from our first session together.
-"I will be gaining weight as the class goes on..." - my pregnant group mate
-"I was in nursing until I realized I have no bedside manner." - another classmate on life before the library
The rest are from the goddess herself:
-"Tried to do headmath on the fly, that's always dangerous!"
-"Cite it badly, but cite it!"
-"Information isn't horseshoes."
-"That could bore the paint off walls..."
-"I'm so glad that spellcheck doesn't have a 'duh'... It took me five times to spell weenie..."
-"Got sexier than their server will support!"
-"Oh, I see I got the bright group!" yay...
-"It was like a motion sick powerpointe, no idea what they were presenting... an assault on your senses!"
And my favorite
-"It's brave of these people to put their thoughts on paper. I hope one day you will too."
Only two more weeks until the next class. That just happens to fall on my birthday. That'll be interesting. In the mean time we're supposed to read an article and write a two item analysis thing that's due on the 18th, meaning I should probably start sometime soon. I got my grades for assignment #1 today, 40/40. Not bad for a first assignment in grad school. Gives me a bit more confidence in my paper for tonight. But not much more. Still nervous, and feeling a bit like comic relief. Everyone there is so professional and knows what they're doing in life - they have goals and all that and I'm still lost. But she uses me as an example so it makes me sound smart! So I've got that going for me, hahaha. I'm just taking it one week at a time.
Now my ipod won't connect to my computer. THE HORROR! Oh well, a problem for tomorrow. Speaking of, anybody watching the superbowl? Go Steelers! I think. I mean I'm not really cheering for either team since they aren't the Titans. But I've never really been a Packers fan, so yay Steelers? Gotta cheer for somebody, right? I'm supposed to go over to oldest sister's house to eat food and watch the game. Which probably means more Wii dancing or TMNT. Joey has this game called "Naughty bear" that is just awful! You're this bear who's like the outcast and doesn't get invited to this other bear's birthday party so you get mad and kill all the other bears. Instead of blood it's stuffing flying everywhere. It's ridiculous, and the narrator is British and he's all yelling "total defluffication!" when you kill them all. So disturbing but oddly satisfying.
