Went re-shopping tonight.

After you realize all the crap you forgot the last time you go and redo your shopping?

Though this time it was all about the popsicles.

Dude, those things were nasty. So I ditched them and went back to my regular ones and guess what, they were on sale!! Score!!

2 boxes of 20 for only $6.00 total.

That'll last me like 2 weeks, I'm stoked!!

Did I mention my love of popsicles?

Aside from the day flying by not much else to say.

In kind of a funk.

And it's a guilty funk which is the worst kind of funk.

Cause I'm surrounded by people who have legitimate reasons to be in a funk but they're not and I am.

So what the crap?

Oh well, I'm off tomorrow - good thing as it's 3AM now - so I'll sleep and get over it.

Irony is I just watched a clip of her back when she was Daphne with Niles on Frasier. I got hooked on that show back in early '11. Still quote it from time to time.

I guessed a long while back that Jermaine was gonna take it. And he definitely deserved it. He did have a major edge already being on stage with Alicia Keys, and I think people really feared him because of it. Experience means less nerves which means better stage presence.

I like him, I like his voice, and I think Blake's a great coach - he's super picky about turning around during the Blind Auditions so you know if he does they're worth it.

I was just seriously excited for Juliet Simms for getting second. When it was announced that Tony got third and she had a shot at being first her jaw just dropped.

I'm guessing they'll all get record deals, that's what happened last year. I wanna hear more of Juliet Simms. I got one of Automatic Loveletter's CD's through interlibrary loan - that was her band before she made The Voice. It's great. Same gravelly voice, but with original lyrics.

definitely one of my favorite moments. basically the final four brought back former season two competitors and they sang together. This was Jermaine's bringing back Pip, Jamar and James for some Jackson Five. Love the choreography. And they're all so different from each other. I miss James and Pip, they were great.




such a random pair for Juliet to bring back, I was just intrigued, seriously. but i guess Raelynn was like her little sister and Jamar was just always so positive and as they were the final two for Team Cee-Lo it makes sense.

i like this combo, Chris is great with opera but then you've got Lindsay's unique tone and Katrina's powerful vocals, it was great.

okay, i literally jumped up and down. literally got up and jumped. and at that point i was like, okay, Tony can win and i'll be okay with it. all because he brought Jordis back. she's my favorite, unless you missed all my rambles throughout the season.

She's just so great, she has a grit to her voice and serious power, great at both relaxed like "wild horses" and then hardcore like "maybe i'm amazed".

Hope she makes the "best of" CD. Or gets a record deal.

Can't wait until next season.

Speaking of, Castle's finale was huge!

Whilst the case storyline wasn't all that spectacular, actually I was a little let down by that, but the end made it worth it.

Now I just hope they don't screw it up like Bones.

I think they had their season finale as well, but I'm so far behind and for some odd reason have no motivation to catch.

Think it's all because things changed when they got together.

You can tell I'm not the only one. When a show changes nights that means it's at risk. If everybody was tuning in when it was on there'd be no reason to change things, they would already dominate in number of viewers.

Maybe Castle will be different.

I'm wondering if that's part of the reason why they're holding off on Ziva and Tony on NCIS.

And why Penny and Leonard broke up, course I'm behind on that too so for all I know they could be back together.

Too much pressure to keep them together. Plus it takes away motivation to keep watching since they're already together.

That's one of the reasons Frasier did so well. They didn't end up getting together until like the 8th season. And people kept watching because they had to see how it happened and then what happened next.

That's how I got sucked in, it was like finally! But now I have to watch until they get married and then I had to watch until they had kids and then I had to keep watching to see how it all ended.

On the agenda for today was a halfday at work then a meeting for grad school stuff. Basically I'm gonna be her grad assistant and have to take over her current duties. One of them is to lead these comprehensive exam study sessions where you get tips from those who took it and learn how to submit them - we don't have a major test, just a bunch of essays.

It was pretty informal, basically just went over the necessary steps. And then I talked to her about GA stuff, puts me at ease knowing what's coming and how to handle it.

I think I'll be okay. It's just a couple of semesters. Plus you know taking three classes and the homework and working 40 hours and directing a youth camp and doing TAB stuff...yeah, that's not bad at all.

Today was perfect, slept in, got my DVR set up, notified that season 4 of Chuck has been shipped which means I can finish season three woohoo! Then hit up the library to do some shelving from 5-8.

we used to whistle it down the hallways in high school. it seems like it's actually her whistling but according to the soundtrack it's credited to Bernard Herrmann. perhaps he's the instrumentalist in the background.

yes i own the soundtrack. get over it. mostly for the 5.6.7.8's music, you know, before it became the theme song for all things Vonage. i'm probably one of the very few people to know the actual title of this song. most just call it the creepy whistle song from that one scene. i remember watching it for the first time with shel and smo screaming wake up, Wake up, WAKE UP! she's coming to kill you!

love that movie. they have a couple other ones that are pretty good as well, "i'm blue" awesomeness and "i walk like jayne mansfield" make an appearance in other scenes.

ps, that chick's toast. reminds me a little of Frasier's ex-wife Lillith. Though the best part of the whole movie comes about 5 minutes after that. After Uma Thurman has killed about 10 of Lucy Liu's thugs and is about to go after her when she hears car engines and doors slamming. The Crazy 88.

The Showdown at the House of Blue Leaves. Uma Thurman - at her greatest in my opinion - takes on the Crazy 88, plus Lucy Liu, plus GoGo the freaking ninja kid in a school uniform all with only a samurai sword. I tried counting the 88 but I only got to about 56. Got lost in all the slicing and dicing.

Normally I don't but I love those two movies. I think Vol. 1 is my favorite but I can be swayed to Vol. 2 when I'm watching it. Which I haven't in over a year. That needs to be fixed.

You know about the Wilhelm Scream, right? It's a sound effect used in a lot of action movies - even Star Wars - that was recorded a long time ago and is still in use today.

and yes, these two songs being stuck in my head are the weirdest combination anyone could think of, but it's what happened. Veggie tales I get but there's no logical expanation for Twisted Nerve as no one was whistling and I didn't see any movies with Uma Thurman or Daryl Hannah.

Alright, should get some sleep. Long day tomorrow at one branch all day and have no idea who's working with me. Just that I will most likely cross paths with Slim Shady in the parking lot.

More Frasier, I feel like I should finish the series. I had to keep watching until Niles and Daphne got together but now that they're together then it was until he proposed. And now he proposed so does this mean I have to watch 'til the wedding? Then the kids? Man.

Work flew by, as it usually does, and Team Awesome was reunited for two hours, huzzah! Then came home and sat out on the balcony with my big fat cat. It's good I live on the third floor since that keeps him from jumping and running away. I'm grateful he's a big chicken. I read half of Book #5. It's alright so far, but I don't know a lot about ships so I'm a little confused. I'll figure it out, it's pretty intriguing.

aaannd look, it's Bellamy Young. Who also shares my birthday. She's guest starred in pretty much all of my favorite shows. Frasier, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, plus the awesomeness that was Ellen Darling in Dirty Sexy Money. Too bad about those high heels. I'm telling you, you really have to plan out your entire outfit when you kill someone in a jealous rage. Although, that would mean you'd have to predict when you were going to have a jealous rage so that you could dress properly. There was actually an entire Sketch and Edit dedicated to that moment. But the great thing about Bellamy is I play this game where, if I see her name in the title credits, I guess what hair color she's going to have. Cause you never know if she's going to be a blonde or brunette. It's amusing. We're alike in that aspect.

Woohoo...spent my day in the backroom sorting books on to carts. Then studying our new system. I'm sad - they took my sandbox away! I liked telling people they let me play in a sandbox at work. The sandbox is basically a practice version of our new software. Which will hopefully officially be up and running tomorrow. If not I'm toast since there's nothing to shelve and only so many books to shelf-read.

I got a letter from the Library Goddess about our next class. It starts already in like 2 weeks! Lots and lots and lots of young adult books to read. Two already for the next class!

Fortunately today's was pretty good. Inservice at the library - it was actually kind of funny because I was at one presentation on the main floor and like every two minutes you could hear the door rattle because someone had ignored the signs and was trying to get in. The whole thing kind of flew by actually, cause I had some kickass presenters! Got to learn about some cool Young Adult books - which will hopefully help me out for my next grad school class that's about young adult materials - and talk about family literacy, see how media can affect libraries for the better and...what else...oh listen to a hysterical zookeeper dude do the final wrapup presentation, that was amusing. Plus I had a fun lunch with some of my coworker friends.

Maybe I can sleep through the whole cuts-off-his-arm thing. No, I totally wouldn't sleep through that, nightmare central. Guess I'll stick to Frasier season eight. Nerd, yeah I know. Or...30 Rock season one...hmm...the choices.
