Today just flew by, seriously. Looked up at the clock and went, crap, it's 5:50 I gotta count the money!
Fairly busy for a Monday.
Not too fast or too slow so made for a good day to make progress on other projects as well aka Summer Reading and Food Drive stuff.
Hoping my LPD officer is still up for the presentation on Wednesday. If she can't make it I'm screwed.
After that was dinner with some extended family and a trip to the cousin's house. They have a pool so the kiddos were all over it.

I wait for her text in the morning, "don't put that in the blog!"
Granted it was in a new area of town, but when double yellow line is on your right instead of on your left something is definitely wrong.
We hit up Ruby Tuesdays, ordered an entree and the salad bar and after the salad I think I had like three bites of the entree. Mega leftovers, will probably pull them out around 2AM. If I'm not konked out by then. I gotta start going to bed earlier, I'm exhausted by the end of the day and all I want to do is sleep. Then when I get home I have 80 other projects to work on plus a boyfriend who I actually like to see so there's no time for naps. Sad day.
He starts third shift tonight. Hope he got some sleep this afternoon, otherwise tonight's gonna suck.
Alright, off to bed for me. Gonna turn on some GCB and crash. Loving the first season on DVD, finally got all the way through it and then of course they cancel the series.
Which is what ABC does when it gets a show with multiple female leads.
Just saying.
Don't get me started on the whole Women's Murder Club thing again or I will never stop.
I'm still crazy obsessed with that show and it ended like 4 years ago.

i don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily i'm here to stay and make the difference that i can make...
You can call off the search and rescue.
I'm still here, Smo stayed over and as it's kind of rude to post when someone's here I went off the radar for a couple nights.
But now you're stuck with me again, so a couple things you missed:
Thursday: Worked all day, of course, bit of a different schedule though. Food Drive brunch in the morning, followed by pickup up 14 barrels and distributing throughout the system. Took us a few hours but we got them all out and talked to the supervisors. Doesn't start until the 1st so at the moment they're in the backroom until further notice.
Still gotta figure out some poster stuff to send them. As we can't fundraise on library property I'm thinking something like, "The library branches are having a competition to see who can create the best statue. Donate and help your branch win the prize." or something to that effect. Better worded. I'll work on it.
After that the day was basically cake, off at 5 then hit up hit up Bubby's baseball game after that. Oldest Sister was gone so I had to do book, and will again a couple times this week. Did okay, until the other team switched their batting order without telling me. That went well. But we fixed it so we're good.
Friday: Smo slept over Thursday night and woke up super early to do her golf thing Friday morning. I, however, slept in 'til about noon, awesomeness, woke up and watched some SVU. Got season 12, again, this time with no cracked disc. Glad I ordered a different one, would have missed AJ/JJ and the awesomeness that is Debra Messing.
After that met up with Smo/Juwanna/Wordsmith for some icecream and went to another of Bubby's games. Got some good hits, they won them both, hoping they'll win this week so they can make it to the tournament. Then went to Juwanna's place for some waffles and watch the beginning of SC kicking Arkansas's butt, woohoo!
Championship games start Sunday night, SC's gonna rock it. And Juwanna's cooking rocks.
Saturday: 9-6 but it flew by pretty quickly. Short amount of staff on the weekends means if there's people there we're fairly busy. Came in spurts, but I got to work with some cool people so we had fun. Off for the night so just finished SVU, now on to GCB. Gotta stay awake until the boyfriend calls. Besides, good to fly through ILLs, keep running into things I want to ILL before the official changeover. Rocket Power is one of them, that's next on my list. Maybe Freakazoid.
Aww, Castle, that show is so fantastic. and Revenge, I want to watch that. Sorry, previews.
Oh yeah, forgot about this one.

ummmm? total bizarre factor.
Never heard of it, Suzi and I were watching and like, what??? Jennifer Garner and never heard about it until now.
What else? Oh I get to jam with the Glee-Loving Boss at the home branch all day tomorrow. After that heading out to dinner with sisters for some Mexican food. Apparently there's a new one in Second Sister's town and as I went to college there I figured I should check it out.

went thru and bought a bunch of new stuff off itunes. actually been listening to the radio a bit lately instead of the constant ipod, aren't you proud?
ps - carter has officially claimed a new spot in the apartment. i got out a new blanket and threw it on the chair so it was out of the way and now he's like konked out on it, same with yesterday.

A real day off.
Whoa.
Not so fantastic that I want to watch them over and over, but not bad.
Learned a lot, Leo did well as J. Edgar, I was impressed, and Michelle Williams definitely deserved the Oscar nod for Marilyn.
Scale of Awesome puts them both at around 6/10.
After that it was dinner with the sisters and a cousin, lots of fun, got my usual rainbow chicken and fries. But as is usual somehow it always ends up with them giving me a lot of crap.
They all have kids and you know how kids seem to interpret song lyrics differently? Like, they don’t get the references or understand all the words?
Apparently “Moves like Jagger” was turned into “Move my jacket”
And “Boots with the fur” became “Juice with the fur.”
Early morning tomorrow.

i love this song. he's pretty great too. cool video, minus the girls at the beginning, that's a little random. always thought this song would be awesome to learn to play on guitar. one of many on my list to learn.

I spent it sleeping in,
awesomeness, then watched some Historical Fiction/Fact movies aka J. Edgar and My Week With Marilyn.
Not bad. Not so fantastic that I want to watch them over and over, but not bad.

Thoughts from my Nitrous-addled brain…plus the GCB
Apparently, if my six-year-old nephew can get cavities filled I can get cavities filled.
Or so said my mother in her pep talk on the way to the dentist this morning.
Made me feel semi-pathetic but it worked. I can get cavities filled. As long as there is nitrous involved.
Dude, that stuff is wicked awesome. And I was on it for over an hour so there were a lot of random thoughts that went through my mind.
Thoughts that came to mind while I was on Nitrous:
-Dude. What if like people didn’t have noses. That would suck. Then we’d always have to breathe through our mouths. And then if something happened to your mouth you couldn't breathe. And then you'd be dead. All cause you had no nose.
-Dude. If I flinch is he going to slice off my tongue?
-Dude. That freakin’ repurposing project is this week. How am I gonna finish all those crafts, pilfer a mass amount of withdrawn books, and act semi-crafty in front of the kids? Granted I’ve started on some but they are questionable. But that’s what Squirt and Mentor are for.
-Dude. How awful of an editor am I? I’ve had her stories for over two months and they’re still not finished. How did I used to have time to do all this stuff plus write my own before? Oh right, that was college. Who studied in college? Joe Studley doesn’t like it when I say I guessed or rambled about stuff and got a 4.0 for two semesters.
-Dude. I’m running out of time on my DVR. I need to watch some of those shows so I can delete them and add more.
-Dude. I have so many useless fact books checked out that I should probably make an attempt at reading. Or the one Wordie gave me. A year ago. That’s still sitting on my endtable. But I don’t read books I check out from the library. I think they’re a good idea, so I check them out. And then ultimately I get distracted. However, if I buy the book then I don’t have to worry about due dates or if I’m in the mood to read in this three week period. And then I read.
-Dude. I’m gonna take a monster nap after this.
-Dude. My freakin’ curtains have yet to be hung up in the living room. I hate napping in the light.
-Dude. How does this crap stay in your mouth? If I eat something is it gonna come out. I will puke. Or pass out. Or puke and then pass out.
-Dude. Puking and passing out is not pleasant.
There were a few more Dude’s, but I’ll move on, you get the point.
My dentist rocks. And my hygenist sits with me to make sure I don't pass out.
And they let me wear headphones. Though no singing, sorry Sensei. I was competent enough to control that.
And it wasn't so bad. I made them laugh when I told them my sibling's story. Basically Second Sister was like,
"why does the dentist pinch you when you have a cavity?" and my brother was like,
"that's not a pinch you idiot that's a shot."
and she didn't believe him so he said to keep her eyes open when she's there, then she saw the needle and hated my brother for that.
So after the joy that was nitrous and the fact that I couldn't feel anything or swallow anything for like hours I took a nap. It was wicked awesome. Except it's light out so I really need to hang up these curtains. They've been sitting on my foosball table for like a year.
After my wicked awesome nap with my cat I caught up on some DVR. I don't think he knows what to do when I'm home during the day. He just stares at me. Or bites me cause I'm on his couch.
Anyway, DVR. So I watched Missing. Fantastic. Ashley Judd is a badass. Which I don't think I've said since Double Jeopardy.
Caught up on Bones, it was very creepy at the beginning which was exciting cause it's always so comedic and that's a change of pace. Reminded me of the Gormagon episodes, which were awesome. But then this one ended randomly - it was like is this a cliffhanger or not? Cause I mean are they going to pursue him next episode or is this just another one of those they'll come back to later. There was no big moment at the end to explain. I wish it was a bigger cliffhanger, you know? Something that would make me start watching it live time again? It's not as exciting anymore now that they're finally together. Sorry, ramble-nation.
The GCB is fabulous. I'm in love with it already and there's only been two episodes. BUT IT'S SO FUNNY!
Leslie Bibb is great as ever it's good to see her back in a starring role, Kristin Chenowith is always fantastic, plus you throw in a bunch of other actresses that I know from all these other shows and it's like I KNOW YOU! But how the hell do I know you? Like the chick that plays Heather, took me until the second episode to realize what she was from. I just kept seeing her dancing and hanging out of a limo. And then it hit me, VEGAS VACATION!
Anyway, I love it because it's original and it has fantastic one-liners.
Here are a few of my favorites:
-My bible's in my other purse.
-Why would anyone in their right mind leave Dallas for southern California? We’ve got the same weather without the liberals!
-She’s a yo-yo’er, right now the yo is up.
-Oh darlin’ you were a bitch with teeth.
-You reap what you sow – that’s Texan for karma.
-Onward you christian soldier.
-Got a job at a booby bar. - think that's my favorite cause she says it so blase in her opening narrative
-My husband just died, I’m still mourning the bastard for god’s sake!
-...or I’m gonna move me and the kids to a refrigerator box under the interstate, understood?
-As long as it’s the I-20, nobody we know ever rides that road.
-God she’s such a Pharisee.
-Well, someone’s been reading her New Testament.
-No I just googled hypocrisy.
-You have two guns? Mother what are you afraid of?
-*pulls out a shotgun* Not a damn thing.
So yes, you should watch it. It's fantastic. And now I'm stoked for Scandal. Though it doesn't start until like Mid-April.

So, the Oscars.
2012, big year for movies.
And of course, out of the nine up for best picture I've seen only one: "The Help".
Though hopefully by the end of the week we can make that two, I just got "Moneyball" through the library.
But still, that's PITIFUL!
I'm a movies and media junkie!
This whole working 40 hours a week thing is seriously killing my consistent-movie-going habit.
In case you weren't following my Facebook updates - Sketch and I had a running commentary and I posted pretty much anything and everything that came to mind within those 3 hours, - Here are my highlights:
-Good Commercials:
-Is it just me or do the shows "GCB", "Scandal", and "Missing" look extremely good and funny? I enjoy Kristin Chenoweth and Kerry Washington so I'll be adding those to my DVR. Plus Ashley Judd as a badass CIA Agent? I'm intrigued.
PS - I was informed that GCB stands for "Good Christian Bitches" in case you were wondering as I was. The series itself is based off of a book - I'm sorry I'm a Library Service Associate get used to it - by Kim Gatlin. They titled the TV show "Good Christian Bitches" after the book, then changed it to "Good Christian Belles" and then changed it again to just "GCB".
-100 year Titanic sinking anniverary is coming up in April so I was excited to see they're bringing the movie back to theaters, in 3D no less, that should be interesting.
-I lost count of how many Ellen JCP commercials came on, but I laughed at all of them.
-You should thank yourself for being awesome, Jeff Bridges. He narrated a Hyundai Oscar-themed commercial, thanking people.
Funny Presenters:
-Billy Crystal is classic, as always. I like that they included a clip from "When Harry Met Sally" in one of the montages. "I'll have what she's having." He always knew what to say when introducing the presenters, Natalie Portman included. "...and a murderous ballerina..." yes Billy, that's exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up.
-I really enjoyed the cheesy documentary commentary by Gwyneth and Robert Downey Jr., though I'm a big fan of each of them so having them reunited again was fantastic and I approve.
-How much leg does one really need to show while presenting an award for Best Adapted Screenplay? Really Angelina?
Though I did love IMMENSELY the Descendant's writer who did an impersonation of her stance. That was fantastic.
Maybe it's just because I'm Team Aniston. Even if I did enjoy "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". "Baby you couldn't find the button with both hands and a map."
Actually I like her much better with Justin Theroux anyway. SEAMUS!! "I'm gonna teach you and your friends about pain..."
I'm well aware you have no idea what I'm talking about, google it.
-Emma Stone's enthusiastic presentation and diss of Ben Stiller's past presentations. I remember the Avatar year, that was fantastic. Though what really made it great was when she started singing, invited Jonah Hill to dance with her and he totally turned her down. Burn.
-Sandra Bullock was glamorous as ever, but every time I saw her all I could think about was her on the Red Carpet talking to what's-her-name about the night being full of "sexy times" and then posing.
-Colin Firth's best actress addresses were fantastic.

-Though my favorite highlight of the entire night has got to be the "Scorsese Shot" by Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne. Where they downed half a bottle of what looked like vodka. "Scorsese!!" It was ironic since Scuba Steve asked if there was some sort of Oscar's Drinking Game going on with our commentary just minutes before the shot happened.
Another thing I noticed with that one, I really enjoy when actor's speak and they have accents, but they're such good actors that you didn't know previously they had accents to begin with?! Like Rose Byrne, dude. I stopped typing when she spoke as it totally threw me off. Love it.
Miscellaneous:
-Don't you feel bad for that one acrobat that totally flew too far on that sitting in a circle and flipping around thing? But it was good, the rest was pretty impressive.
-After posting about the "The Shore" taking home the live action short film category, I followed it with the comment "crabs crabs crabs" since there was a crab in the preview. It's kind of a family inside joke about my nephew being scared of crabs when he was younger.
Anyway, so I said
"crabs crabs crabs"
and Sketch followed with
"I picked that movie! I was going to say I got that one but that would be awkward after your comment..."
-Love that Bret McKenzie won for best original song, "Flight of the Conchords" rocks.
-Bring on the dramatic music. I was sad they didn't throw in more dramatic music to kick people off the stage early from their speeches. Not that many were super long, but this year it was more like they just cut the mikes instead. Bummer.
Speeches to me are always so awkward, especially when more than one person goes to make a speech for the same award. It's like is it over? Nope, here's another person. Stop the applause! Cut the music! They're still going!
-Loved!! Christopher Guest's gang doing the screening review, that was FANTASTIC! In case you're not aware (and severely culture-deprived) the group of people who were commenting on "The Wizard of Oz" are all part of Christopher Guest's crew of actors that he puts all together in many movies such as "Waiting for Guffman", "Best in Show", "A Mighty Wind" and "For Your Consideration", though they were missing primo members Jane Lynch and Parker Posey.
While I was surprised by the amount of victories by "Hugo", I was glad that "The Artist" totally dominated on the awards front. It deserves it for being a pioneer and old-fashioned at the same time.
Since "The Help" was really the only movie I've saw out of the many mentioned - aside from "HP-7B", "Bridesmaids", and the Swedish version of "TGWTDT" - I appreciated Octavia Spencer taking the Best Supporting Actress category.
I enjoyed her speech as well, "I'm sorry, I'm freakin' out!"
Aside from "The Artist" I'm also adding "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy", "Albert Nobbs", "Hugo", and "My Week With Marilyn" (all based on books), to my list of movies-to-see.
I really have no desire to see "The Descendants" as it sounds completely depressing, and while I'm sure their adapted screenplay was great I'm still confused as to why "The Help" wasn't in that category. As it's based off a novel...
Meryl Streep's win for Best Actress was well-deserved, especially after being nominated more than anyone else in the history of the Oscars.

And that was the Oscars. Other than that today the day was pretty much an average Sunday, though they let Slim Shady and I work together for the majority of the day which is like apocalypse 13 cause they never let us work together.
After work I stopped by the home library to drop stuff off for the Queen of Awesome and talk to Space Cadet as I never get to see them anymore, let alone at the same time.
Finished my homework, sent it in, and now I'm off to bed. Get to sleep in tomorrow morning, I'm THRILLED! Then I'm meeting up with Slim Shady for lunch and a movie - gonna see "This Means War", woohoo! before going in to work for 2 hours.
2012, big year for movies.
And of course, out of the nine up for best picture I've seen only one: "The Help".
Though hopefully by the end of the week we can make that two, I just got "Moneyball" through the library.
But still, that's PITIFUL!

This whole working 40 hours a week thing is seriously killing my consistent-movie-going habit.
In case you weren't following my Facebook updates - Sketch and I had a running commentary and I posted pretty much anything and everything that came to mind within those 3 hours, - Here are my highlights:
-Good Commercials:
-Is it just me or do the shows "GCB", "Scandal", and "Missing" look extremely good and funny? I enjoy Kristin Chenoweth and Kerry Washington so I'll be adding those to my DVR. Plus Ashley Judd as a badass CIA Agent? I'm intrigued.
PS - I was informed that GCB stands for "Good Christian Bitches" in case you were wondering as I was. The series itself is based off of a book - I'm sorry I'm a Library Service Associate get used to it - by Kim Gatlin. They titled the TV show "Good Christian Bitches" after the book, then changed it to "Good Christian Belles" and then changed it again to just "GCB".
-100 year Titanic sinking anniverary is coming up in April so I was excited to see they're bringing the movie back to theaters, in 3D no less, that should be interesting.
-I lost count of how many Ellen JCP commercials came on, but I laughed at all of them.
-You should thank yourself for being awesome, Jeff Bridges. He narrated a Hyundai Oscar-themed commercial, thanking people.
Funny Presenters:
-Billy Crystal is classic, as always. I like that they included a clip from "When Harry Met Sally" in one of the montages. "I'll have what she's having." He always knew what to say when introducing the presenters, Natalie Portman included. "...and a murderous ballerina..." yes Billy, that's exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up.
-I really enjoyed the cheesy documentary commentary by Gwyneth and Robert Downey Jr., though I'm a big fan of each of them so having them reunited again was fantastic and I approve.
-How much leg does one really need to show while presenting an award for Best Adapted Screenplay? Really Angelina?
Though I did love IMMENSELY the Descendant's writer who did an impersonation of her stance. That was fantastic.
Maybe it's just because I'm Team Aniston. Even if I did enjoy "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". "Baby you couldn't find the button with both hands and a map."
Actually I like her much better with Justin Theroux anyway. SEAMUS!! "I'm gonna teach you and your friends about pain..."
I'm well aware you have no idea what I'm talking about, google it.
-Emma Stone's enthusiastic presentation and diss of Ben Stiller's past presentations. I remember the Avatar year, that was fantastic. Though what really made it great was when she started singing, invited Jonah Hill to dance with her and he totally turned her down. Burn.
-Sandra Bullock was glamorous as ever, but every time I saw her all I could think about was her on the Red Carpet talking to what's-her-name about the night being full of "sexy times" and then posing.
-Colin Firth's best actress addresses were fantastic.
"We were in Greece, we danced, I was gay, and we were happy. I probably fathered your only daughter..." to Meryl Streep
and then
about how Michelle Williams inspired him to be a better actor as he matured, "We can leave aside the fact that you were 12 and I was 35."
