I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

Affirmative. I poked one. It was dead.

Big day today.

So I made my resolutions yesterday and I realized that it's basically the same stuff as always - minus the flossing thing.

In light of this realization I've decided to kick things up a notch.

I said I was going to live healthier, I'm going to start by giving up pop.

If you know me at all either your jaw dropped or you can now stop laughing.

I'm slightly obsessed with carbonated beverages, but that's the point, they're bad for you and it would be wise to stop drinking them so often.

So, I'm going to try to go a year without drinking pop.

Which means I need a substitute.

Today I tried vitamin water - it was nasty, but that could have been just the flavor I attempted.

I got some good ideas from people, but what about you? Any ideas for substitution?

Is sparkling water bad for you?

Anyway, I'm gonna start small with the no more pop thing - okay, so it's not really small but we're gonna see how long it lasts - and then work my way up to going to the fitness center twice a week and all that.

Today was big for other reasons as well, it's the boyfriend and my two year anniversary.

I know, right?

And don't even try to hide it. I know those of you who made it to my grad party came only to make sure he wasn't a figment of my imagination.

Originally we were supposed to do something family related, but after realizing that wasn't romantic we skipped out on that and went out to dinner by ourselves instead.

I dared him into eating a jalapeno. I'm pretty sure he's puking it up at this very instant.

I would be.

After realizing his pop was not stopping the pain he drank half my tea cause it was more helpful.

See, tea, better for you than pop in more ways than one.

But he had to work tonight so he headed out after dinner and I stayed in and watched Miss Congeniality 2.

Huzzah for Interlibrary Loans.

Scale of Awesome says 6.5/10. Not as good as the first one, but entertaining nonetheless.

If you haven't seen the movie watch this clip and call it good.

Well that and the return of that redhead from Charmed, Red, and god knows what else she's guest starred in.

I forgot she even has her on tag on here but I can never remember her name.

She'll always be Natalie to me.

And that's all I got.

Song of the day plus more of my favorites from 2013:

Humans are Dead (live) - Flight of the Conchords

posted the episode version of this a while ago, but just found this one and love it.

binary solo still gets me.

more from 2013:

Roar - Katy Perry

similar to Sara's "Brave" but good nonetheless.

Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke feat. Pharrell and TI

i hate that i like this song cause i really don't like him. plus this video is just weird, the only reason i put up with it is pharrell's dance moves.

and i'm out.

have a good weekend.

"you met a guy?" "uh-huh." "as a dog?" "uh-huh." "how?" "well he ran me over."

If you don't like Charmed or Maroon 5 you should probably skip this post.

I'm gonna hit you with a bunch of crap cause if I said the speech that's running through my head over and over and over I'd regret it later.

So, in order to distract myself from the roller coaster of a day I'm watching Charmed.

That's right, Charmed.

Cause I love it.

All 8 seasons of it.

I was obsessive - and still am - and similar to Friends can tell you what quote came from what episode, what episode is in what season (judging by the opening credits or storyline or even hair style) and name pretty much every demon listed in the Book of Shadows.

Here are clips from two of my favorite episodes - the first is from season three's "Blinded By the Whitelighter".

Training with the new Whitelighter:

"well that would be bad."

see, the redhead? that's natalie. mentioned here and here and here and here. she even has her own tag because she's in everything now and i don't even know her real name.

similar to the hailey nash/maid marian shout out yesterday whilst watching bones.

Aames is a Darklighter, they're training to kill him. If you are confused.

Next is season five's "Sense and Sensibility"

Forced to play charades after losing their senses:

"ball?"

"we've gotta find paige."

The movie Phoebe is watching is called "Kill It Before It Dies" starring Billy Appleby and and Sally Mae. It's her favorite movie. It's originally featured in the second season episode "Chick Flick". The Demon of Illusion brings Billy to life and Phoebe falls in love.

yes i am that sad.

But really, that's the stuff I'd rather be focused on at the moment and since I always always post Piper videos now you're gonna get a Prue one.

"i hate when she plays astral games. MARCO!"

"without opening a fast food franchise, yeah."

aaaannd that's actually Billy Appleby censoring Prue at 3:45.

immediately after watching this episode i used the word "rutabaga" as a replacement for everything i couldn't pronounce.

still do.

Another one of my favorite things?

Maroon 5.

Their new CD is pretty great, here's one of my favorites.

Doin' Dirt - Maroon 5

sweet moves.

So, while this post has been probably extremely boring and painful for you (and yet you're still here) it was relaxing for me. I promise to do better tomorrow, but today... let's just say, this helped.

Now I'm gonna go do some more editing and crash. yeehaw.

PS - my new ringtone for text messages is the chime when a whitelighter orbs.

aka the :30 mark of the Sense and Sensibility clip.

Day Off = Homework + Immortals + War Horse + Necessary Roughness

So this is what a day off feels like.
Huh.

Though it wasn't much of a day off.

Since I put off my homework, no surprise there.

But I did at least start it last night.

Then looked at the clock and said, past midnight, eh, I'll do it tomorrow.

So I watched Just Shoot Me instead.

Then slept in, fantastic by the way, and woke up and finished it all.

EVERYTHING!

Done for the freakin' semester.

Well, aside from class tomorrow. But the homework's done, now I just need to present it.

Then I'll be done.

Til June!

Woohoo!

Celebration mode.

So I watched some fun and exciting stuff.

Cause I have lots of fun and exciting stuff checked out.

Such as:

The Immortals.

I could take it or leave it.

I mean, it was good, loved the mythology aspect of it cause I'm an ancients nut like that, but the storyline was a little eh.

The special effects however, the staging, and the colors used during the battles oh my god fantastic. Like I literally rewound and played a bunch of stuff over. There's this one huge battle scene between the Titans and the Gods where the Titans are all in gray, the building is all in like tan and the Gods are in pure gold and those are the only colors. Well, aside from the bloodshed. Seriously cool.

Anyway, Scale of Awesome says 6/10 because of the storyline. There were a lot of times where I was like, what?

And if you didn't know who the characters already were you were totally clueless, like they never introduced who half the gods were, they just had different head-dresses and Poseidon had a trident, and then there was this seer who was supposed to stay a virgin but since she was the love interest that didn't stay too long, whatever. It was alright, but not something I want to watch again.

However, next up on my list was War Horse.

Oh my god I totally cried.

Turned into a total girl.

It was fantastic. I mean, not the crying stuff, but the movie as a whole.

Scale of Awesome says 8/10. But so sad that I don't want to watch it again.

Yeah, one of those.

Spoiler Alert, if you don't want to know then don't read it.

It was not the storyline that I was expecting. I expected it to be all about the boy and his horse, but then the horse goes off to war without the boy, and then the horse gets other owners, and I mean the title makes sense now, not that it didn't before, but it just wasn't what I was expecting.

In a good way.

Cause I like that they brought it other owners, gave the story more depth.

8/10 definitely.

But so sad that I probably will not watch it again.

Had to turn on some comedy, I got Necessary Roughness from Target on sale, fantastic.

"Terrence King! I dragged my so-called bony ass out of bed and left my kids home with a tattooed man named Xeno who is probably scaring the crap out of them right now!"

Though totally weirding me out cause it has Max Medina. Maaax Medina. Which would be fine, except in this show he's supposed to be some sort of mysterious badass security dude, but since I see him as a high school teacher it doesn't fit.

Typecast I know. I was in high school, now I do it when I watch things.

But I can't help it the red head from RED and the Go Meat commericals will forever be Natalie the obnoxious whitelighter, Jon Favreau will always be crazy Danny the linebacker, Idina Menzel is still Maureen Johnson, Jane Lynch will forevermore be Sue Sylvester and Max Medina will always be Max Medina no matter how much of a badass Navy Seal he's supposed to be portraying.

Aside from that the show is pretty good. She's a shrink who's hired by a pro football team to un-crazy their wide receiver. He can't catch anything so she hypnotherapies him.

They like her so much they keep her around, I'm on episode three at the moment, in this one the team's owner also owns a racecar driver who has panic attacks.

So far I'm saying 7/10, worth persuing, and if it takes a turn for the worse it gets donated to the library.

"Misery" The Warblers
this video seems to pop-up whenever i'm done with a major assignment, not because i'm in misery but because i envy his throwing of papers in the intro. jealous. cause i'd do it, but then i'd have to clean it up.

Now I'm hungry. Post, Eat, Sleep.

Last class tomorrow!

PS - I hate the new blogger. Behind-the-scenes layout is freakin' me out.

What do you mean you got it? You just wiped out two deer and a motorcycle!

name that reference if you dare.

woops, time: 11:40 PM
location: couch
attitude: too tired for capital letters or proper grammar
music: pokerface - glee cast version, gotta love idina menzel, it's another one of those 'natalie!' moments cause every time i see her i scream out 'maureen!' i really gotta learn that natalie chick's actual name.

so, today was fun. remember how yesterday i volunteered for three shifts because i'm crazy? apparently now i'm certifiable cause i did it again today. i feel a bit like ado annie but i'm fine with that. i like working there and i was just gonna work at the other library anyway, not a big deal, they switched around my hours. hopefully everyone will be healthy by tomorrow. i haven't been to the other library since like...saturday? maybe... yeah saturday. tonight i got to work with one of my favorite people so everything was all worth it.

we scanned all the adult paperbacks today and i was introduced to the wonder that is nascar romance. didn't know there was such a thing did you? me either, but i guess everyone needs love, even someone who drives around in circles for hours.

i spent the time between shifts working on my homework for saturday. i finished the graphic, now i just have to finish the paper. i have lots of notes - will have to work on it tomorrow during the day on breaks n lunch n stuff. that means it'll be take-your-backpack-to-work day. my boss was hilarious, i was rambling about the project cause i'm excited and i ramble when i'm excited...or frustrated or whatever which you've probably noticed...anyway i was like i just have to ramble for a page about it and she was like, "i wouldn't respect you if you couldn't ramble for a page." haha, oh the support. maybe i will upload a pic of the graphic once everything is all finished.

so excited for tomorrow night, actual plans that don't involve work. and i'll be able to follow thru because each branch closes at 6 on friday and saturday so i won't have to cover for anyone at night.

all for now, eating popcorn (supper) and watching some retro tv. can't say what as it will give away the title's origin. i will say that craig ferguson does an excellent impression of the main character. "did somebody say murder?!" i used to watch him every night for two whole years, craziness! but he's all different now that he's married and lost the sound machine. 'welcome back my cheeky monkeys' my favorite sound effect was the scream when he would do an impression of the 'scream' painting. too funny.

now i'm really out.

"Is this ad relevant to you?" "No!"

Gotta love watching TV online. I love Hulu, it's fantastic, it has all my favorite shows and it's free. But they stick you with these ads that are like ridiculous then ask if they're relevant to you. Car commercial, relevant? No. Different car commercial, relevant? No. Kay jewelry commercial, relevant? No. Open hearts jewelry commercial, relevant? No. Video game promotion, relevant? No. I was like, what's next? Different video game promotion?
Is it just me or is anyone else secretly waiting for the psycho killer to show up at the end of that "i'm right here and i always will be" storming outside kay diamond commercial? I think I watch too many crime shows. Speaking of, I caught up on Bones and I don't want to ruin anything for anybody else who isn't up to date but dude. Like duuuude. Big episode last week, I'm stoked for tomorrow's. Heather Taffet man! And I was starting to like her as an actress. She was in the Closer, Saving Grace and Criminal Minds as well - although I haven't seen the last one since I'm on strike. I'll spare you the rant. Again. But a serial guest star again, like Natalie! aka "bring it on old man" chick from RED aka Go Meat chick from the Hillshire Farms commercial who also guest spotted on all my favorite shows. Scroll down a few posts and you'll find who I'm talking about. In fact, Taffet and Natalie kind of remind me of one another. Maybe it's the red hair and bad attitude.

So the roads here are awful but Jarvis and I are still having fun. Except that it took FOREVER to scrape off the windshield this morning even though I used the self-start ten minutes before. Just have to start earlier tomorrow morning. But driving and seeing snow flying everywhere reminded me of sledding on the farm. You don't just have the sled you go all out with the 4-wheeler pulling you over hills and ponds and through the ditches. You just gotta hang on for dear life. Especially when your cousin runs you into a mailbox, my bad, sorry Megan. Or over the top of a car, again my bad Megan, but it was well worth it. And it's always fun when you get stuck in a pile of snow and step on the gas only to fly right through making the person on the sled get completely yanked off because it's so sudden. Awesome. Unfortunately I've missed out on the sledding so far since I've been working but I'll have to make up for it when I go home.
One of my favorite snow memories was when it snowed so much and it piled up next to the quanset - this building of ours so big it houses the combine and tractors and all that - and so I climbed all the way to the top and slid down. Mom totally flipped, like flipped. Dad just laughed and went inside to get the camera. I was fearless. There's a picture of me standing on top of this thing and it's not like a flat top building, it's rounded. That was probably a very bad idea. But I survived.
I also liked making forts, we did a lot of that in grade school. But no snowball fights, that was frowned upon, in grade school and high school.

Music currently jamming out to
- "Don't know nothing" by Maroon 5. I love the rhythm of this one. I'm recommending their Hands All Over album again, it's fantastic.
Food thinking about eating even though it's after 11
- popcorn. mmm... popcorn.
TV show I will most likely fall asleep watching
- NCIS first season, I'm back to the DVDs. I miss Kate. It's so weird seeing Sasha as a Medical Examiner now. And Angie Harmon is still a detective but she'll always be Lindsay Boxer to me. Yes I'm referencing Women's Murder Club. Get over it. But I do like Rizzoli and Isles, I'm waiting for the first season to come out on DVD. Should look into when it comes out. Oh well, job for tomorrow. I'm out.
