Set up a dentist's appointment for May - you know how much I hate those with my history.

At least not to my knowledge.

Watched like 3 discs of SVU season 13?

I don't know I've gotten them all through ILL but I've had this one requested since October. So it's whatever the latest season on DVD is.

Ya, 13.

I figured I'd hate it cause it doesn't have Stabler, but the new ones aren't so bad.

I would, however, protest if Benson quit.

Munch isn't in it as much. Did you know Richard Belzer's played that character in like 4 TV series?

Anyway, after my nap and SVU break I did a ton of homework.

Mostly for Diversity in Libraries.

Frustrating as it was.

We're in groups of 4 and we each had to come up with 5 African-American books, which we did last week, but today we had to look them up in these specific library catalogs to see if they own them - I had NY and Springfield - however in my libraries, unlike the others, they catalog the editions separately (which technically you're supposed to do because people look for certain editions of things) so I had to look in like 3 places and add everything together while everyone else had like 1 place and that's it.

Anyway, she didn't say if we were supposed to add up each edition or just do the 1 edition our group member picked or if we were supposed to add in the different formats and all that, just blah.

Whatever, it's done. And I'm content with it.

Now it's back to SVU.

I would do more homework but I'll actually have time to do that during the week since the boyfriend is in Seattle.

Next homework assignment is due on the 20th for Internet Reference, and then like the 9th or 10th of May for the final assignment. In Diversity next week we're discussion boarding - can I use that as a verb? - about this collection assignment and then we present our posters. I did mine on Diversity in Young Adult Programming.

But I have no idea how to present that on Blackboard Collaborate so I'll have to figure that out at some point. But that's the final for Diversity.

And then I'll be done until June when I take Foundations - 1 credit class I can finish in a day - and Library Systems which only lasts through June.

So I'll be free for camp, huzzah!

Speaking of camp, huzzah! We have our first meeting of 2013 tomorrow so I'll be headed out to G-Town after work.

Tomorrow's gonna be interesting because I have volunteers coming in from 9-1, then I'm off and headed to the meeting which is at 2:30, then I'm stopping by the farm because they're burning ground - which I'm sad I can't make it to cause I'm working instead.

Think I mentioned this, my siblings and I own land and are burning it to the ground to start over. We did that when we first got it too. The boys enjoyed smacking the fire with big flopper sticks and riding around it on four wheelers.

And I think there was beer and snacks involved at some point.

Can you say "redneck"?

Anyway, I'm bummed, but I can't exactly miss work cause they're my volunteers.

Well, they're UNL volunteers, but I'm in charge of them for the morning. They're going to be cleaning the computer lab - cause that gets done never - wiping down tables and chairs on 4th floor - cause that gets done never - dusting the reference shelves - cause that gets done never - and then whatever else my coworkers suggest that also never gets done.

Theme sensed?

Yeah.

So that'll be an interesting morning, and then I'm pumped for the camp meeting. It'll be the core group most likely aka myself, Obi-Wan, the Music Mentor (i'm hoping anyway), Pastor Blackstone, and Scuba Steve O, and maybe Josh.

One of these things is not like the other, I know.

But Josh actually is a nickname.

I think Obi-Wan and I are the only ones who call him Josh, everyone else calls him Pastor.

But he's not our Pastor so it's allowed.

I just remember showing up at teen camp after Obi and I went grocery shopping and he was there and I was like, "hey josh!" and he was like "FINALLY someone who doesn't call me Pastor!"

I'm stoked for camp already. Application sheets were made and will be approved at the meeting along with the budget, theme, menu and all that. If our Head Chef can make it that is.

Anyway, I should stop talking about camp now because you know if you get me started it's never ending so I'm going to put the computer down and back away slowly...

I'm still here, Smo stayed over and as it's kind of rude to post when someone's here I went off the radar for a couple nights.

But now you're stuck with me again, so a couple things you missed:

Thursday: Worked all day, of course, bit of a different schedule though. Food Drive brunch in the morning, followed by pickup up 14 barrels and distributing throughout the system. Took us a few hours but we got them all out and talked to the supervisors. Doesn't start until the 1st so at the moment they're in the backroom until further notice.

Still gotta figure out some poster stuff to send them. As we can't fundraise on library property I'm thinking something like, "The library branches are having a competition to see who can create the best statue. Donate and help your branch win the prize." or something to that effect. Better worded. I'll work on it.

After that the day was basically cake, off at 5 then hit up hit up Bubby's baseball game after that. Oldest Sister was gone so I had to do book, and will again a couple times this week. Did okay, until the other team switched their batting order without telling me. That went well. But we fixed it so we're good.

Friday: Smo slept over Thursday night and woke up super early to do her golf thing Friday morning. I, however, slept in 'til about noon, awesomeness, woke up and watched some SVU. Got season 12, again, this time with no cracked disc. Glad I ordered a different one, would have missed AJ/JJ and the awesomeness that is Debra Messing.

After that met up with Smo/Juwanna/Wordsmith for some icecream and went to another of Bubby's games. Got some good hits, they won them both, hoping they'll win this week so they can make it to the tournament. Then went to Juwanna's place for some waffles and watch the beginning of SC kicking Arkansas's butt, woohoo!

Championship games start Sunday night, SC's gonna rock it. And Juwanna's cooking rocks.

Saturday: 9-6 but it flew by pretty quickly. Short amount of staff on the weekends means if there's people there we're fairly busy. Came in spurts, but I got to work with some cool people so we had fun. Off for the night so just finished SVU, now on to GCB. Gotta stay awake until the boyfriend calls. Besides, good to fly through ILLs, keep running into things I want to ILL before the official changeover. Rocket Power is one of them, that's next on my list. Maybe Freakazoid.

Aww, Castle, that show is so fantastic. and Revenge, I want to watch that. Sorry, previews.

Okay the boyfriend knows me too well already.

Got a text from him telling me to stop watching SVU and do my homework.

Well, I did half of it.

I turned off SVU and turned on The Voice.

After I looked over my assignment.

So I did homework too.

Sort of.

But had to watch the Kathy Griffin episode of SVU first, oh my god so funny.

Hitting on Benson and Cabot, giving crap to Stabler, she was a lesbian activist.

Anyway, back to the Voice. I'm watching the second season cause I can. And I want to see how many people turned around during the blind auditions for the people still in it.

Good god, I just want to smack the model. Sorry, fast forward.

Does that make me a bad person? She killed Tina Turner. Well, not literally. But dude. No one should kill a Tina Turner song. Makes me sad.

So, sitting here as I fast forward I think about all the crap I have to do this week.

Fill out some paperwork for grad school, finish cataloging the five books assigned - well, assign them call numbers at least i have the rest done, add to the group's cataloging page, and come up with a lesson plan on Dewey - visual representation included.

Not to mention work 40 hours, continue on camp stuff, and attempt to have a life as my boyfriend probably wouldn't be a fan of me being busy constantly.

Should be fun.

It was a day of assorted celebrations.

1. I SAW SPACE CADET TODAY!!

We had this database training at a branch that a bunch of us went to - I carpooled with Superwoman which is good cause I would have gotten lost in all that construction.

It was funny cause Space Cadet walked up to Superwoman and smiled and I ran at her. Superwoman was like "I thought she was smiling at me!" I almost tackled her. We sat together for the presentation. It was pretty fun. She gave me movie tickets and coupons, she knows me all too well.

I miss my Home Branch people man, I only get to see Joe Studley when I'm there and he's fun, but he's just one member of our gang. Even the Queen of Awesome is back at work! I haven't seen her since sushi months ago!

The database presentation was actually pretty helpful. I think there were about 20 of us there, plus more go tomorrow. The dude was a little weird, kept coming up with random searches and we figured out we were the raunchy bunch. Which was amusing.

But he did bring us cupcakes. One of them was maple bacon flavored. Seriously?

There was this segment on Rachel Ray once called, "I bet you didn't know you could wrap THAT in bacon." It's times like these that I'm reminded of that.

Also when my favorite Sister-In-Law brought little smokies wrapped in bacon to trivia night. That was awesome.

The database might actually prove useful on Sketch and Edit's Excellent Adventure, I'm stoked. 3 days! Gotta find places to eat and walk around and all that.

2. Heard back about a possible Summer Reading presentation.

Our theme for teens deals with night and darkness and all that. I took a Criminology class in college and I remember a cop who came to talk to us about forensics. I got the contact info from my prof and got in touch with the cop. She got back to me today, super exciting!

Think the kids will have fun with it, it was a lot of fun in college to learn about blood spatter, fingerprints, moldings and all that.

Plus Mentor was proud of me for taking initiative.

3. Then, I got a letter from the mayor.

Yes, the mayor, congratulating me for perfect attendance in 2011. I know, right?!
I opened it and was like "what?!"

Cause I never call in sick.

And when I do get sick it's on my day off.

Freaking Coach Otte and his "it's all mental" motto.

Stuck with me.

Power through it, it's what we do.

Though I've already killed mine for this year since I've been sick already in January. Bummer man.

After all that I got to jam with my cat and watch the rest of SVU season eight. Sensei is right, not only would Stabler be gone they'd all be gone. Except maybe Munch. Cause he's more about conspiracies than violence. The season finale was huge, bringing back Ludacris who digs up all their dirty little secrets. Big ending.

And of course I have to wait until the next season comes in on interlibrary loan. Which will be a few weeks. So I'll have to distract myself with something else.

Right now I'm back to American Pickers.

Something is seriously seriously wrong when I'm watching this and Red Green and Swamp People when my father isn't even around to make me watch them.

Sooner or later I'll be sitting here watching HeeHaw by myself.

When it comes to that point, someone please promise me you will change the channel.

Anyway, SVU. I've made it through to season eight from the beginning.

Got them through the library, I don't think I could own them.

It's a great show, just nothing I want to watch over and over cause it's depressing.

So, Sketch and Edit's Excellent Adventure takes place in like less than a week.

We're meeting up halfway to celebrate our birthdays.

Stoked.

First vacation vacation I've taken since...oh jeez. I don't even remember the last time I left the state.

Well, that's depressing.

Think it was camping with Second Sister's family. And that was like 5 years ago.

All my other "vacations" are for camp - and that's everything but a vacation. Oh well, it's worth it.

So yes, I'm taking my camera - or my "hand attachment" as she calls it. Though I haven't taken pictures with it in like a year.

Like I said, not much time for a vacation when you're working 40 hours a week, plus taking classes, plus family stuff, plus camp stuff...

So I'm stoked.

Started my homework today, though I had more questions than answers. Glad I have smart friends also taking the class - that's helpful. We just started and I'm already totally lost.

Oh well, I just gotta figure out what books they're talking about so I can figure out how to catalog them. It's a group thing, they divided us up and we're all supposed to add in a bunch of stuff, work together and catalog items.

So if I do something wrong they can fix it. Huzzah!

Once I get that all sorted out I'll be ready to roll on the other stuff. Evaluating catalogs and making a chart.

Easy enough, I just gotta get it done before this weekend since I'll be gone.

I know, sorry, boring ramblings.

What else is exciting?

Umm...went in to work today for two hours. Taught Squirt how to do a trace list.

I used to love doing them at the home library. Kept me entertained for hours.

Though you rarely find anything.

Which is good and bad.

Good cause it means you're doing your job, bad because it gets old fast.

But, on the rare occasion you do find something - and these are things that were supposed to be pulled at one time or another and they weren't where they were supposed to be - you grab it and do a victory dance.

That was our motto when we were done with the lists as well.

Toss it and do a happy dance.

That's what I'll do when I'm finally able to graduate and be done done with school.

No homework, just work work. Though a doctorate sounds like fun.

Hey, a girl can dream.

But I don't want to be one of those lifetime students.

Be overloaded all the time.

Even though it'd be cool to throw "dr" in front of my name. or "phd" at the end of it.

Moving on, Carter and I are gonna jam out to some more Benson and Stabler kicking ass.

How they thought they could replace them I'll never know.

I think I'll stop working my way through the seasons when I get to that point.

They are the show.

Though I am curious as to how they have both Cabot and Novak as lawyers at the same time. Then they're turning into regular Law and Order.

But no, watching that would be promoting the new cast and I refuse.

It's like when all the Criminal Minds fans boycotted until they brought back both AJ and Paget.

It sounded like it did in my head.

So I've been watching a lot of NCIS:LA. As you've probably noticed, I've mentioned it once or twice. I'm not so deep into it like I was with Chuck or Leverage, but it's a good enough show to have on in the background when you're supposed to be doing other things, you know like homework or writing.

And every once in a while when you look up it's usually worth it.

Though it'll never top its originator.

I like the buddy dynamic between Callen and Sam. Their banter is quite humorous.

Kensi is a badass, Hetty is hilarious, I had completely forgotten about Nate the psychologist until I got season one, but Deeks is still my favorite.

Although sometimes I want to punch him.

But that's how you know it's a good actor.

Like Rachel Berry.

She's a fantastic singer.

But as a person, you kind of always want to punch her.

The actress is so good she makes you hate her. Then love her again when she sings.

I'm assuming she's still the star on Glee, I haven't watched a single episode this season.

I've also fallen behind on Bones - shocker I know! This was my favorite show for like ever. And The Closer - still at midpoint of the season. Big Bang Theory I'm still on last season and that's only because I bought the DVD. If I hadn't I'd still be on the season before that. I love that show. Criminal Minds I read up on online. Warehouse is out on break until July. Grey's I haven't watched regularly since college so like 2 seasons ago.

The only real shows I keep up with are Castle, 2 Broke Girls, and NCIS the original.

And technically I don't really even watch them when they're on live, just DVR'd.

Cause I work.

A lot.

Or I'm gone.

Or distracted.

Or writing.

Or writing and distracted.

Like now.

Agent Jordan Todd from Criminal Minds is currently Detective Jess Traynor on NCIS:LA. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how I knew her and by that time she was already dead.

I feel like somebody should come up with a list.

Of locations and agencies.

Like LAPD is Deeks.

But it's also Brenda Lee Johnson from The Closer.

NYPD is Kate Beckett in Castle but it's also Olivia Benson from SVU.

The FBI is always obnoxious in these shows, but you've still got Agent Booth from Bones and the whole BAU from Criminal Minds.

Trent Kort is a completely obnoxious CIA agent from NCIS but then you've got two "CIA Agent Walker"s aka Annie from Covert Affairs and Sarah from Chuck who are completely anti-Kort.

Though John Casey is the only NSA Agent I'm coming up with.

Then you just got anti-everything with the Leverage gang.

I watch too many crime shows.

But someone should still make a list.

Cause there's even more crime shows that I don't watch.

So there's gotta be more crossover.

Yes I'm a nerd, but in my defense there were no paper towels.

You get that, Mike and Molly and Castle, plus the Closer once that comes back on. Although, I might have to crossover when it does. But that's what DVR is for.

No Castle tonight, some sort of 20/20 special or something. Castle's always good, I especially loved the bank heist episode. Super intense drama there.

Mike and Molly was supposed to be good tonight. Mike's mom gets a job at the school and she bonds with Molly over gossip. I'll watch that one before I crash as well. Should be funny. I love his mom. She's so awful.

Season one is out on DVD. I'm debating on buying it, but that's mostly thanks to Katy Mixon's "Victoria" character. Her Bigfoot story made my year. But of course you know that, since I've posted it about ten times.

Alright, music recs then finish this totally depressing episode of SVU, and switch over to some comedy so I can sleep. Tomorrow's a big day. Get to plan out my life for the next 2-3 years. I'll keep you posted.

Tonight's Tuesday Night Night-Shift Debate:

Who would win in a fight, a sea cow or a snow leopard?

Thoughts?

We decided on the sea cow. If the battle was fought underwater the snow leopard has no chance. And a snow leopard can't drag a sea cow to land to fight the battle because they're giant. Well, technically, they're extinct so they can't drag them anywhere.

This debate really went as far as that because we moved on to other useless trivia.

Other things I learned today:
-In 1865, in the war between Uruguay and Brazil, one of Uruguay's ships ran out of cannon balls so they fired chunks of stale Dutch cheese out of the cannons. One of them dismasted an enemy ship and killed two sailors.

-If you've ever had to haul a can of paint to the top of a water tower to defend your sister's honor you may be a redneck.

-People used a rhyme in the olden days to remind others to stay away from Oak trees in a lightning storm. "The oak brings the stroke." Apparently oak trees were thought to be highly conductive.

-It's lucky to spit in your hand before you pick up your bat. It's unlucky to share bats with someone else. ....and now totally gross if you play with superstitious people.


We Space Cadets are all about the useless trivia. And the patrons love it. When you get the two of us together we're always joking about the most random crap whether it be weird dreams, e-books, psychics, random phrases, my broken shoes, her children, my siblings - seriously anything is conversation-worthy.
And it's hilarious because we really have nothing in common whatsoever. I'm all about media, reading fiction and sleeping in - she's a nutrition major who watches nothing, reads historical nonfiction and wakes up every morning at like 4Am. Voluntarily. But when we're together we're always laughing about something. So it's fantastic.
This one night we had this older patron who I helped get signed up for an email account and the whole time she was like yelling and talking really loud and laughing and all that and I walked back to the desk laughing, because the chick was hysterical.

Me: That's gonna be me in 50 years.
SC: But you'll use your inside voice. Unless you're too deaf to hear it.
...
SC: My hearing at 70 will be your hearing at 30.

apparently my headphones are too loud. geez...mom.

But today was awesome. And I was productive so she was proud.

Shelved for four hours this morning, got groceries, ran into my adopted little sister who's moving to town - huzzah! - came back and cleaned my apartment room by room, hung up the rest of my posters, vacuumed, paid some bills, FINALLY got Dad's present. Every time I went to the office they weren't there, haha. But third time's a charm so now it's all wrapped and all that. Oh and got Castle season 3 and Bridesmaids. Totally stoked. But I still gotta finish this season of SVU even though it's not due 'til like October.

It should be Manic Monday. or Manic Monday Morning at least. Slept through my alarm, then Carter had issues, and then my shoe finally broke as I attempted to run down the stairs. You think they'd notice if I duct-taped it back together and wore it anyway? I freaking liked that pair of shoes, dangit! Now I'm stuck with my half-laced, covered in gravel, black shoes. Not that I don't have other options. But I'm too lazy to go and get them out of my closet.

Summer Nights

love 1:40. that was always my favorite. but john travolta's dance moves and high notes make the movie. seriously.

So, shelved for four hours today. We scanned all the paperbacks as the haven't been scanned since February and I'm sick of seeing "4/27" on the Last Seen Date when I'm running lists. This way if it says "9/19" I'll know I need to keep looking. With 4/27 it's usually 70/30 that it's not there.

After all that fun I came home and took a nap. And it was fantastic. Watched some SVU, and after watching depressing case after depressing case I had to switch it up with some musical clips.

Aaannnnd, the awesomeness that is Castle came back tonight for season four. Crazy that it's been four years. I've been with it since the start. And...I ain't saying that I was right....but read this My Life in Closed Captions: *Spoiler Alert* ....and without giving away too many spoilers I can say....I wasn't wrong. About Castle. The other shows haven't aired yet. And what's with Bones not coming back until November? Was that an Emily's pregnant so we need more time kind of thing? Oh well, it'll be worth it.

i want a flying car. just hope they didn't end up in the womping willow. we know what happened to that flying car....well, actually, i guess we don't. cause it crashed. but then it came alive again to save them from spiders, but then it disappeared again. probably buried somewhere in the forbidden forest.


Tomorrow is split shift which means, running errands, cleaning apartment, watching more SVU, oh and working. twice. Which is going to happen more and more in the future. It's amusing because I'm only 20 hours and I'm technically not supposed to work at that branch, but I still work more nights there than the 40 hours do. Except Joe Studley. I think I actually get to work a night with Joe Studley again. AND THE QUEEN OF AWESOME! I'm stoked! Until she leaves me to have her baby. Which, I guess, is allowed. Not that I'm complaining about the night shifts. I'm actually ecstatic! I get to sleep in! My screams of joy almost lost me points, but we were in the backroom so it didn't count.

So, today was interesting - lots of multitasking as techically I was scheduled to be an LA3 and an Aide at the same time. But we switched it so I was at the desk all morning then shelved in the afternoon. LA3. Still weird to say.

Then I came home all like pumped about actually doing stuff - clean the apartment, write some stuff, edit some stuff, pay some bills, but yeah. Totally did nothing but watch SVU and lay on my couch. Took a nap with my big fat cat.

Tomorrow might be more of the same. Only work in the morning - then I'll attempt to do the stuff I was going to do today. But at least my homework is done and posted until next week. I'm allowed to be lazy for a day. Or a few. It's like in my family it's not just a birthday it's more like a birthmonth. Be nice to me it's my birthmonth. I get to be lazy it's my birthmonth. No that was last month. Oh right.

And OMG it's freaking September already which means Xmas is coming and I'm stoked! Which is weird to think about already I know, but I still have all the Xmas songs on my ipod and one played today while on shuffle. I jammed and tried to figure out what to get what for who. or whom.
I was never good at that who/whom thing. one is supposed to represent he/she and the other is supposed to represent him/her but I can never remember which is which. Usually the English major in me would look something like that up cause it would drive me nuts but at the moment I'm enjoying my lazy day with SVU and Carter my lazy fat cat who right now is laying on the floor staring at me wondering why I'm not feeding him.

Or maybe some Charlie's Angels but I'm afraid to start season four cause Kate Jackson isn't in it. As great as Farraw Fawcett was I wasn't completely depressed when she got replaced by Cheryl Ladd. I actually liked Kris, Jill's kid sister. Plus she made guest appearances anyway so it wasn't like we lost her completely.

At first I didn't like Sabrina so much. Kinda thought she was a snot. Now she's kind of a badass. So she's awesome. Plus she's Prentiss's mom. Which cracks me up to the extreme.
"I love you, I'll prove it, you won't like it, I don't care" kind of became a one-line wonder for me in college. Even though she was just reading what a criminal had written on a note and left in her luggage on a ship. Which he threatened to blow up. So much cooler than Kelly's note said, "Bon Voyage, you're dead." But that was back in first season when Jill was still a full-fledged agent instead of a race-car driver. I think the title was like Angels Afloat or something.....nope "Angels at Sea". Close but no pez.

Does anyone else say that or is that another family phrase? Close but no pez. I'm assuming it's an Everts family thing. We have a lot of those. But those pez dispensers are usually a pretty big thing for Xmas gag gifts. Aaannd we come full circle.

But seriously? What kind of plot line is that? She leaves the agency to drive racecars? Even though Sabrina was the one to drive the racecar in the episode where criminals were smuggling things across the boarder during a race.

And who the heck is this new chick? Seriously? Tiffany? Or what's the next one? Julie or something. But she doesn't even last a full season.

I should just put the disc in and suffer through it. Or at least the first episode. Before I judge her completely. Which I have. But I shouldn't. She could be awesome. I guess. Prentiss came to replace Greenway, she was awesome. Ziva replaced Kate, she was awesome. Not as awesome as Kate, but Agent Todd is hard to beat.

Which reminds me, I got season six of Criminal Minds even though I refuse to ever watch it. But it's the principle of the thing. Maybe I'll watch the first disc...up until they boot off AJ/JJ. But PAGET IS BACK!! Check this!

Make the lambs stop screaming!

Have you ever had one of those days where it's like everything is nonstop? Like my heart was racing the whole day. Was only at the one branch 2 hours this morning so I was racing the clock and still didn't get everything done, then at lunch I worked on homework frantically reading so I could get that done and didn't have to do it tonight, this afternoon while apparently slow for everyone else caused me nothing but stress - except at one point where in all her glory Superwoman showed up and commented on me relaxing. The one time I was actually sitting and checking email, everything else was nonstop. Which is good, she didn't see me all stressed and freaking out. Everything was a rush. Checking in in the back room cause no one else was doing it - there are still three carts left to deal with after I went through five others, then at close I was supposed to count money which I had totally forgotten since I was too busy putting out new books and checking people out at the desk. Thank god for Load man, he saved my butt. Yes, we are Lock and Load. Deal with it.

Then I came back to my car and found the window open which totally freaked me out. But it's fine. I guess. I probably hit a button or something.

Now I'm home and sped through the rest of my reading just to get started on the posting. But it's done! It's done! I'm done! for the week!! huzzah!! Posted and replied to three peoples even though no responses were required. But I'm a nerd like that.

Now I can like sit. And just like sit. And watch TV. But mostly just sit without my heart racing and me freaking out about homework/work stuff. See, this is why I like being subdirt. There's no real responsibility. I mean, other than what happens at work itself. You go, you do lists, you shelve, you're done. Mostly. I enjoy the subdirt. And then I was dirt at the other branch but now they decided to promote us all. Now we're topsoil.

I'm just in one of those modes where it's like my brain won't stop. I'm at this point in the post and I've only been typing for less than a minute. Speed typing where you go back and finish the mistakes later. It's part of the English major thing. You get it all down on paper before you forget it or get distracted by something else. Or maybe that's just me.

But I'm good now. And breathing. Today was something to scrapbook. Let's leave it at that and move on.

Perhaps mellowed music will help. Well, that and SVU. Cause I got the 4th season through interlibrary loan. I love my job. But I'm pacing myself with Chuck. Cause the next DVD set doesn't come out 'til like October. I do this with most series I own. I don't watch the last disc until the next DVD is out, then I can watch them all together. Cliffhangers drive me bananas. But in a good way. But not a good enough way that if I have access to what happens after I'm hanging off the cliff that I'm not going to watch it. Did that make sense? Probably not. But it's the thought that counts. I think. That's a thought. Thinking is a thought. I need to stop typing.

This Issue Is Not For Checkout

Okay, so weirdest thing ever. I shelve the morning away, run my errands, feed my cat, start a project then come back to work where my coworker finds the youth section to be like a disaster area. All the stuff was all turned backwards, stuff was on its side - and it wasn't like a normal little kid invasion where there's stuff all over the floor. Literally all the VHS tapes in that area were turned backwards, a bunch of the CD Roms, and the books on display were all on their backs. So weird. Space Cadet and I were just weirded out. I took pictures and sent them to Superwoman, not knowing what else to do. What would you do? Like, I don't even know how that happened. It's just too weird.

I love working with Space Cadet. It's kind of a competition as to who can say the words "Space Cadet" first. It's amusing. "It's da Space Cadet!!" is usually my opening line.

Anyway, remember how I'm a nerd? I got these Star Wars crossword puzzles, cause I'm a nerd. And started one. Dude. I suck at puzzles. I used to have all these Star Wars puzzles like framed on my wall and I was like, dude, only 300 pieces I can do this. But no, I'm missing my sister-in-law who totally rocked at helping me. I was a kid so 1000 pieces was a little out of reach. I figured I could rock it, but nope. I'm stuck on a 300 piece one, I haven't even started the 500 piece one. But it's a bunch of faces. I can name the most of them but making them fit together is like more than I can handle. Maybe I'm distracted. SVU is on, I look up every 5 seconds.

OH MY GOD, why would you hold on to a dead body for 14 years? Wouldn't that be like disgusting? Even if you stuffed it in a trunk? That's just gross. Sorry, I've been watching too much SVU. Even Carter's grossed out. Sittin' in front of me turned away from the TV.

"No, I'm just merely using rhetoric to prove my point."

Anyway, Star Wars puzzle: Take one. I suck. Even Carter knows it. He just stares at me. I gave up. He's not easy to do puzzles around. Or wrap presents. He has to lay in the middle of everything. Like, you lay out all the wrapping paper and he lays in the middle of it before you can stick the present on it. And he doesn't move. I think he got that from Junior. He used to do it too. It was worse when they were together. You'd lay out wrapping paper and Junior would lay on that. So you'd go get more paper, lay that out and Carter would lay on that. Then Junior would be jealous cause you weren't using his paper so he would growl at Carter, who would jump at him, then I'd have to separate them and by the time I was done catching them both - individually - and putting them both in the basement, I'd lost all energy to wrap up the freakin' presents anyway.

OOOHHHHH, Cabot's in contempt. Behind bars. Busted.

Where was I? Puzzles right. I'm a nerd. Did I mention that?

I told her they were a phase. Which is true. By tomorrow they'll probably be kicked in a corner or something. What are these doing in my living room? What was I thinking? You're such a nerd. Yes, I talk to myself. In both 1st and 3rd person.

Got new shoes today. They're black and awesome. I put some new laces in them. Hopefully they'll last longer than my last ones. Which are still totally comfortable. And totally backwards. They broke from the outside in, instead of me dragging my feet and breaking the backs. This time I would step on the backs to take them off and ripped one in half.

Okay, enough time has elapsed at this point to where, I think I can talk about this stuff. If you haven't seen the finales at this point either you don't watch the show or you just don't care how the season ended. So, this post will most likely be filled with spoilers to various tv show finales. Aka NCIS, Bones, Castle and Criminal Minds. So, if you haven't seen the finales and plan on watching them online or something you should skip this post. Or at least skip to the bottom.

What was it, the year of death?! Dude! Even on Glee! I'm wondering if the different networks have some sort of meeting and decide on a theme. Like, let's make everyone happy this year and unite the love interests or let's kill someone off that everybody loves so they tune in next year just to see how we can screw up next!

NCIS - Okay, so you knew it was going to be a big episode after the mystery eye opened MTAC. Seriously. But did they have to kill off Mike Franks?! I totally cried. I like him. Couldn't they have killed Trent Kort instead? As sad as it was the funeral scene was still pretty cool with Gibbs and all the Navy stuff. Speculation for next season: Tony investigating Gibbs. Cause, I mean, who else is he going to investigate? They've already done enough to Ziva, Tim doesn't really have a secret past and with Gibbs there's endless material. Plus he's having that sort-of feud with Vance lately. He's suspicious of his past or something, there's gotta be some kind of retaliation. Right?


Bones - Um, can I just say FINALLY! Emily Deschanel is actually pregnant so we knew somehow that had to come into play. I didn't think this would be the kind of show to hide her behind lab tables, although there would be plenty. Oh my god, could you imagine having pregnancy hormones and morning sickness on that set? There's a disgusting and decomposing dead body in every episode! (Well, minus the live victim from this season) I'm sad they didn't give us more details about Booth and Bones.
Speculation: Is Angela going to start bringing her baby to work or is there going to be some sort of daycare center at the lab? Next year's gonna be awesome. let's leave it at that.


Castle - Big episode! and finally for Castle and Beckett too! even though she's like dying and all that. But they can't kill her off because then they wouldn't have a show.
Speculation: When they told us someone was going to die this season I immediately jumped to Montgomery. The captain is always the one that gets killed off or leaves. And, because Hollywood is cliche, I'm sure he'll be replaced by a strong female character that Kate hates. Bones, Saving Grace, and NCIS all did it already.
-Bones had Cam, who thankfully turned out to be awesome. She replaced Dr. Goodman who I still refer to as "Ed" no matter what he's in because he played Claire's husband Ed in Women's Murder Club. Just like Claire will always be Claire even though she plays Vance's wife on NCIS and a victim's wife on Bones and a cop on Criminal Minds and the chick in the census commercials, yeah, yeah, I know, Move On, I've heard it all.
-Anyway, then there was Lt. Kate Perry on Saving Grace who took over when their old captain got shot in the head in the squadroom only a couple episodes in. The squad of course loved their old captain but Grace had a history with Kate so they got along fine.
-NCIS had Jenny Shepherd ascend to the director spot after the first/second season's dude, who we saw in maybe 10 episodes out of the 2 seasons he was supposed to be the director, retired. That was controversy even though she was pretty kickass.
-Even with The Closer Brenda Leigh was parachuted over all their heads and they hated her. We loved her but they hated her. Now they love her too. Soon she'll be leaving and replaced by someone else as well in the spinoff. And that's gotta be a female lead as well since it's got soooo many male cast members, unless they're leaving too. There's gonna be a lot of pressure for that spinoff since the Closer is so popular. Few spinoffs are as good as the originals. Law and Order SVU is better than the original, but that's just my opinion. And Sketch's. Plus technically, NCIS was introduced through an episode of Jag so I guess you could call that a spinoff. Oh, and what was with that Finder episode of Bones? Totally and completely random. Is that going to be a spinoff as well? They've got the big actors for it so I wouldn't be surprised.


Criminal Minds - Okay, I couldn't resist. Technically this is a spoiler for next season instead of the finale as I didn't watch anything from this season. With good reason. You take away the good main characters to fund a crappy spinoff that was going to fail anyway and the fans protest. And it works!

TAKE THAT, CREATIVE REASONS! AJ/JJ and Paget/Prentiss back on CM, Awesomeness! Now I can start watching again. Totally stoked. Now all we need is a new contract for Thomas and we're golden. He's the only one who isn't officially signed on my next season.
Speculation: Gotta kill off Doyle to get Prentiss back. He's the reason they faked her death and she went underground. Only JJ and Hotch know - although, they're a group of profilers so I wouldn't be surprised if some of them don't already know as well. And if they didn't...then they're probably just going to be pissed they weren't told. Morgan especially.
yeah yeah, i didn't watch the show but i read up on it as the season went on, had to know what was going on with the characters i still liked. temporarily felt sad for the temp actress when i read her twitter but i'm past that. AJ/JJ and Paget/Prentiss returning trump any bad emotion left behind from last season.


Felt I should do this now as I haven't really posted posted in a while. Minus the cough medicine night it's mostly just been the highlights and then I'm going to bed now because I have to work and do more homework. Which will pretty much sum up my upcoming week as well. Monday is work then Saltdogs game, huzzah! Tuesday is work then homework then more work, Wednesday is work then teen program for class then WICKED! HUZZAH to that! gonna have to brush up on my wizard of oz beforehand. Thursday is work plus homework and Friday is work plus homework plus finalized posting of all homework. Then Saturday is the last class we have to show up for. Next week we're just posting stuff online by Saturday. I think. Will have to look into that.

That still works....even though I don't actually have exotic dancers living next door. At least I think I don't. But I don't really know my neighbors. Hmmm...

It was a fantastically crappy day. Not just a crappy one, but fantastically crappy. You know the ones where like it starts out totally crappy and then people try to distract you by taking you out for food and then you actually have the afternoon off for the first time in like weeks and instead of napping as was your plan you spend it instead attempting to do homework but can't focus, so then you put on music but then your mind wanders back to the crapfest so you finally just give up and put in a movie, staring fruitlessly at the screen? You know, fantastically crappy days? Or is that just me too. And did I mention the part where you come home and look at the mail on your couch and read the letter from your vet about taking your cat for shots. A cat you no longer have. And don't actually know its current location because when your mom took it away you said you didn't want to know? Super sucks. Another new theme. Super sucks. It's something to scrapbook.

Aside from the suckfest I did get halfway through season two of Law and Order SVU - intro to Tutuola, bringing back Harper Anderson! hooray for that one, she's my favorite victim. And then of course Callie aka Sara Ramirez playing the crying mother after her kid shoots another kid. You know you watch too much tv when you can associate guest stars with other shows they're guest starred in. Like oh, he was the bad guy in that show, I bet he'll be the bad guy in this one. And bam! He is! total shocker.
