I told Superwoman this morning that today was gonna rock.

I was wearing my ass-kicking boots, I got my evaluation back and rocked that sucker, I had my iced coffee and it was Friday!

Take that world.

The day actually started off highly amusing.

Had to wake up early so I could drive my nephew to school. Picked him up at the house and then dropped him off.

So he's getting out of the car and I'm like, "do you have your lunch? don't forgot your backpack" and then I was like whoa.

Mom moment.

Flash forward to me dropping off children with train lunch boxes.

From there it got even more entertaining. Had time to stop for coffee, got my evaluation and a raise, worked the desk, worked the lab, trained a volunteer, checked stuff in, worked the desk some more and then I was off and headed over to Oldest Sister's house for movie night.

We got sushi, huzzah for takeout! Watched some tennis, good god, I'm glad we didn't watch all 4 hours of that match, I don't know how they were still playing...It was on when we put the movie in and it was still going after the movie was over.

And speaking of the movie, holy crap have you seen this one?



Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.

Awesomeness, but so much darker than I expected to be.

A lot of funny moments though and I really like these actors. Jeremy Renner obviously you've got The Avengers, MI4, Bourne Legacy, and then you've got Gemma Arterton aka Io from Clash of the Titans and Quantum of Solace.

Plus - and it drove me nuts the whole movie I had to look it up - Famke Janssen the mom from the Taken movies and also a former Bond girl.

So we enjoyed our sushi and Second Sister stopped by cause her and the husband had a sushi date night of their own.

Oldest Sister: "He kept pushing on it asking 'does that hurt?'"
Me: "You should have kicked him in the head and asked if that hurt. Then called it a reflex."

Second Sister: "Well no one ever says 'you have great dog breath.'"

Now I'm home and watching Hollywood Game Night.

"Where's the bald picture of her? I know when that happened!"

I would have done better with the Britney timeline than I would have with the top toys one.

For those of you who don't know, Idina sang this song in the musical production of Wicked which is based off the book series by Gregory Maguire about the Wizard of Oz, more specifically the wicked witch's story.

I'm gonna keep this short because I need to konk out soon. So today was all over the place. Usually this day sucks, for the past couple of years anyway, but today turned out okay.
Shelved like a maniac again this morning, worked at the desk and on food drive stuff in the afternoon then hit up a Saltdogs game tonight. Sad day that we lost by 1 but it was still a good game. And I got to jam out with my nephew J who's a total goofball.

It was those last notes at 4:30. Over and over and over. Not the rest of the song, just those notes. Oh man. All day.
This song was seriously awesome live. Highlight of the whole musical.

"Windy City" Calamity Jane - Doris Day

childhood favorite movie. still love it. I think I sing this on average about once a week while I'm shelving. I have no idea why it keeps popping up but it does. Sometimes it drives me bananas but most of the time I just go with. I mean, it's Doris Day. Come on.

Went to see Wicked in Omaha. It was fantastic. Here are my highlights:

Elphaba: I mean, who steals a dead women's shoes? She must've been raised in a barn!
Elphaba: What could he give me, I clash with everything!
Elphaba: Well, we can't all come and go by bubble!
Elphaba: I'm beautifully tragic. *after sister is referred to as tragically beautiful*
Glinda: It seems the artichoke is steamed!
Glinda: I'm Glinda! The ga is silent.
Glinda: You are out of control! I mean, they're just shoes, let it go!
Glinda: *fails to turn Elphaba's dress into a ball gown with her wand* Hello? Is this thing on!
Guard: The goat is on the lamb!

Both: There's been some confusion, for you see, my roommate is...
Glinda: unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
Elphaba:...BLONDE.
had to look that last one up, couldn't think of what Glinda said. But the Blonde part, I totally died. She like looked at the audience and paused...fantastic.

And the chick who played Glinda sounded exactly like Kristin Chenoweth, seriously. Impersonation was dead on.

-I think my response was um ouch, thanks. not sure if I should be offended or proud. Apparently I'm a lot like my brother. Which is fine with me as he is pretty awesome.


anyway, should head to bed soon. gonna finish my book and crash. the teen program today was pretty fun, we watched a bunch of kids make stuff out of duct tape. like flip flops and wallets and stuff. they had some awesome colors there, leopard print and flames and stuff. they never had that cool of duct tape when i was a kid!
