Only in Nebraska does it drop from 60 degrees to snow in less than 24 hours.
I used to love snow. Sledding, building forts, and snowmen and all that.
Now, driving through it makes me hate it.
I hate that I hate it cause I used to love it. It's like losing a piece of childhood or something.
So I skipped yesterday cause I chose to work on homework instead. I finished up tonight - it's not due until Sunday but I have an action packed weekend coming up so I didn't want to risk running out of time.
Both the Catching Fire party and the Elton John concert are on Saturday. I'm stoked! And terrified at the same time. Because of the party, not the concert. It's kind of a big deal. If someone calls in sick tomorrow I'm screwed cause I gotta go shopping for supplies. I waited cause the majority of it is food and I didn't want it to waste away on my desk.
Today was good. It was my second to last day at the practicum - Practicum Count-Up 86:45/90- only Tuesday left which feels crazy ridiculous. This semester has flown by which is both good and bad. I'm so ready to be done with homework forever. And soon I will be! Only this collection development paper - which I'm basically done with I just need to submit it - and then the program summary writeup which I can't do until after Saturday anyway. And then for practicum it's just the monthly narrative and then I'm done.
Done done.
Forever.
After work and practicum today I went out to see Second Sister to make plans for the graduation party. What kind of food is appropriate in this situation? I should know by now, I've graduated how many times? I'm thinking meat and cheese tray with some other fun stuff. Plus liquor. You know, you gotta have the bar otherwise my librarian friends won't come.
Ha, right.
I looked for invitations but the only ones I could find were suckish so I'm going to try again next week and then we'll fill them out over Thanksgiving. That's enough time before end of December, right? Should be fun.
That's all I got for today. I don't even remember much about yesterday. Worked 9-6. Dinner with the boyfriend and his parents after. Good food...yep, that's all I remember.
So, on to the music:
This song has been driving me nuts for about a month, ever since they covered it on the Voice.
So now, I shall share that joy with you.
I Put a Spell on You - CCR
was that a mickey mouse t-shirt?
this is by far my favorite version followed closely by She & Him and also Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus.
not a bad song to have stuck in your head but when it's been a month it's about time for something else. queen of the known universe tried to replace it with barney. she wasn't successful but she tried.
any other suggestions for replacement?
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

Someone told me long ago, there's a calm before the storm, I know it's been coming for some time.
Should I be worried that someone got to my blog by Googling someone's name with the subtitle "the KFC slut"?
What kind of stuff am I posting on here?!
So my dad got struck by lightning today.
Dead serious.
I'm just glad he's not dead period.
Apparently being on the four-wheeler saved him cause of rubber wheels. I don't know if that's true or not - science was never my strong-point.
I do know that usually when someone is struck by lightning they go to the hospital to get checked out.
My dad on the other hand refused. Even after his favorite/pharmacist daughter told him that was a bad idea.
Not all that surprising. Remember the months and months of white walls and sterilized equipment posts? He seems to go to the hospital once a decade and then gets stuck there to fix everything that he neglected to go there for through the years.
This time there might be long term damage. Oldest Sister said the effect was immediate cause he went home and told Mom to stop mowing - you know, before he went back to work - and he never tells anyone to stop working so something must be wrong. She thinks his next hobby will be flower arranging.
It was interesting because I found out right before practicum so I walk in in this weird state of shock, not fully believing that he actually got struck by lightning.
Cause c'mon, who of you knows someone who was struck by lightning? Show of hands? Granted I can't see you raising your hands, but I'm guessing it's slim to none.
Besides my family who can now raise their hands of course.
Anyway, so I tell Mr. BossMan Tom and then go on to explain his other famous injuries.
Drill-bit through the hand, falling out of a tree while chainsawing, and my personal favorite running himself over with a car.
Which also, show of hands on that one? Anyone? Anyone? Nope, didn't think so. I mean, people get run over all the time, but do they ever run themselves over?
He was washing it and he put it in neutral and tried to walk it and his foot got caught and- it's a whole long story, whatever, the point is I'm listing all these things out to Mr. BossMan Tom and I finally realize where I get all my klutziness from.
I mean, Mom has her blonde moments every once in a while - "what's the abbreviation for 'no'?" "Um, no?"
But Dad truly takes the cake on injuries.
Though I'm not the only sibling in my family with klutzy injuries, I mean Oldest Sister blew out her knee doing laundry so...
Aside from that the day was interesting on its own. Worked at the home branch this morning. Listened to their new supervisor do a Toddler Time where she sang a song from Barney.
Which was then stuck in my head all day.
I hate Barney.
With passion.
Stupid purple dinosaur.
Queen of the Known Universe tried to fix it with her own headphones, thanks for that.
Plus, I made up these posters for the libraries we're building for practicum and had them laminated by the place across the street. It was funny cause I uploaded them last night then got this phone call from the lady all frantic this morning saying she's not going to have them done. Then when I go over there on my break I'm like right outside their door when she calls to say they're done. AND I KNOW HER! Cause she comes into the work branch all the time so that was amusing.
It decided to rain today, but only when I was outdoors walking to my car to leave for practicum and then when arriving at practicum - stopping in between while I was driving, which was crap cause it started again right as I was getting out of my car to go in.
Practicum Count-Up 32/90. Flying by. Today I made our check-out slips and decorated the boxes they'll go in. We put up the signs in the women's library and then went over to the men's to work more on that. Still not finished shelving, but the slips and box are there if they want to start checking stuff out.
We listened to a rain playlist today instead of the Beach Boys. It ranged from Jack Johnson to Gun-N-Roses. Huzzah for YouTube.
After that I came home to do homework. The boyfriend is still sick which means I haven't seen him since like this weekend.
Was it this weekend? I can't even remember I just know it's been too long.
When did I turn into one of those girls.
Seriously?
When did that happen?
I used to be so independent.
I still am mostly, but I do like spending time with him and wish he would just propose already so we can stop driving back and forth!
I know, it's not romantic at all, but it would be practical!
Which is sort of quasy...ish romantic.
Right?
Okay maybe not.
BUT I did get a lot of homework done tonight. Which is good cause it's done Sunday night. I wrote the paper, all that's left is citing and graphs. Which I may or may not do after I post this depending on my energy level.
Oh and I watched the new Star Trek movie.
I love Benedict, he's awesome.
Oh, I mean, go Starfleet!
Or whoever it is you root for in Trek... I'm sorry, not a Trekkie, more of a Wars girl.
Speaking of Wars, that whole "we'll fit" thing, total Millenium Falcon reference.
Just saying.
But it was good, I'd say 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome. Worthy of purchase, though I don't have the first one so there's one for the Xmas list.
On to the Music:
Have You Ever Seen The Rain - CCR
also on the playlist and the one that stuck with me as i drove home.
you know, after it had stopped raining cause i wasn't outside.

I'm going to grandma's house and I'm bringing an abactor.
Now that's what I call a day off.
Grad school meeting this morning.
Comps review.
I don't take them 'til the fall but that's part of GA duties.
Met at a coffee shop, of course.
Got my usual chai tea latte in a to-go-cup.
Was there fairly early so played some hearts and jammed out in the corner.
After the meeting I came back, made some stir fry for lunch - okay so I poured a bag of stir fry into the skillet, heated it and then ate it but that counts as making it, right? - watched GI Joe - cause I will at some point see the sequel - and then took a nap.
It was glorious.
After that I turned on the SVU marathon - they have those a lot on USA, on the weekends its always either that or NCIS - added a fun word game to Facebook and did some writing.
The word game has exploded, thanks to some fun friends. Basically I say a statement and then a person says what's already on the list and then adds something of their own in alphabetical order.
So I started with: I'm going to grandma's house and I'm bringing an abactor.
Right now it's at:
I'm going to Grandma's and I'm bringing an abactor, a bridge, cribbage, a dolphin, eggplant, a feather duster, Gary Coleman, a horse, an ice sculptor, jello, Kalua, llamas, marshmallows, napkins, orange juice, pipe and a question.
and I'm going to add:
I'm going to Grandma's and I'm bringing an abactor, a bridge, cribbage, a dolphin, eggplant, a feather duster, Gary Coleman, a horse, an ice sculptor, jello, Kalua, llamas, marshmallows, napkins, orange juice, pipe, a question and a renegade.
Will go well with my abactor.
I know you're all running for a dictionary.
It's actually highly entertaining, will have to do some more.
Where was I?
Oh yeah, the writing.
Mostly Sketch and Edit.
But I'm not allowed to post them until I send physical copies to Sketch.
Or she would drive all the way out here just to beat me up.
Then get in the car and drive back so she could teach the next day.
Apparently her boyfriend, whom I shall call Plant Man - which makes sense but only if you've read Sketch and Edit's - found the SnE binder but she wouldn't let him see it.
Good plan.
Though they are all on here.
I should make a master list post with them all linked.
In order.
They're so scattered on here you'd have to dig through a bunch of pages just to find them.
And they go in spurts.
As I said, have to wait until I mail her some and I usually don't until I have a bunch.
Right now I have 4.
2 of which I'm still working on.
Well, I keep changing the others ones too.
But that's my fatal writing flaw, I'm always going back and fixing things.
Cause I don't like them.
And I never let anyone read my stuff, unless it's for a class.
But that was part of the deal. I had to write her stuff or she wouldn't draw me pictures anymore.
And thus Sketch and Edit was born.
And that was my day.
Oh, I did talk to Sketch for a couple hours tonight as well.
And the boyfriend is driving and will be home late late late tonight.
Which means I get to see him tomorrow.
Woohoo!
I know, I'm boring.
But it was an awesome day off.
Now I'm watching Bloopers.
I really hate Dean Cain.
He's so obnoxious.
And the hidden camera stuff makes me cringe.
But it's the closest to World's Dumbest I can get.
Without actually owning Tru TV.
Yep, gonna have to go up one so I can get Big Ten as well.
Alright, like I said, I'm boring so I'm gonna post some music and then crash.
Bad Moon Rising - CCR
Fun fact: apparently the refrain in the chorus is commonly misheard as "there's a bathroom on the right." So much so that Fogerty has sang it that way live for fun.
i remember karaoke-ing it with Delayed...Reaction - aka myself, Cory and then MAK who we wrote GADE for so she became a band member, and on the screen it showed "i hear the voice of raging ruin" and we all paused and went, "what the hell's a raging ruin?"
Hope you all had a good weekend!

And if you get lost come on home to Green River.
Today flew by really quickly, but that's probably because I was only scheduled 9-2.
We had class this afternoon. In Special Libraries we're visiting all these special libraries but we have to go when they're open so I'm burning quite a bit of vacation time in the process.
But it's fine cause otherwise I never use it.
Though I may be forced to tomorrow.
I'm making a deal, if it's super bad weather and my car is drifted in I'm not going.
It's not about the fact that I can drive on the snow, it's about the fact that the idiots I'm surrounded by can't. And the last time I had to drive to work in the snow it took an hour just to drive 10 miles AND I about got smoked three times by three different cars, so I'm hesitant to go anywhere with these crazy drivers.
Where was I?
Oh right, today.
Today's tour was awesome. We got to see Tom's inner sanctum. He comes in all the time but I knew nothing about his library so it was super cool. Might do a practicum there if he's up for it, cause I found it super interesting. He works at the Regional Center meaning it's in the mental health care facility but their library has both fiction and nonfiction. What he doesn't have he gets through us or the Commission.
I just liked his attitude and what he had to say, and I already knew he was a nice guy so if he's up for it and the Library Goddess okay's it I would totally be in for that in the fall.
Otherwise I have no idea where else to do it. College town maybe, learn the BISAC system.
But pretty sure I'd go nuts jumping from that to Dewey on a daily basis.
Anyway, so the tour was awesome. Afterwards I did nothing but homework for like hours, finally quitting around 10 cause I'm just exhausted. I need to start getting more sleep which is why this post is going to be short - well, this part at least - cause it's already passed midnight.
Tomorrow was going to be the other tour, but as mentioned yesterday, the Library Goddess is in physical pain cause we can't meet and has put me in charge of arranging some sort of group meetup for a virtual session cause there's a limited amount of logins that can happen at once to this specific website we have to go to - but that's also tomorrow afternoon so even if I couldn't make it to work in the morning I'd still have to dig out my car in the afternoon, which would be fine as there would hopefully be ice on the roads by then.
For those of you not local, it's supposed to be the storm of the century for us here, expecting like 10-12 inches. I'm hoping it's all hype.
Even if it isn't you know we're still gonna be open. Our bosses are stubborn like that and much like the Library Goddess, pull out the post office motto on occasion as well.
So, I should sleep, cause I'm in for a long day tomorrow.
Here's the music, afterwards you get the fiction and then I'm gonna crash.
Song that was stuck in my head all day for absolutely no reason whatsoever:
Green River - CCR
i have no explanation as for why i was singing this all day. it might be due to the fact i heard Fortunate Son last night, but that's all i can think of.
Okay, so yesterday I finished Family History, well my Dad's side anyway, so Part One, perhaps I can talk the Cool Aunt into giving me some info on Mom's side this weekend.
So now I'm gonna break it up and give you some fiction.
Story behind this one: Basically I took Fiction Writing in college and this was one of the stories I submitted to be reviewed by the class. You may get multiple of these, depending on how I'm feeling at the time.
See, I think they're crap, but I've been told otherwise, so I'll let you be the judge.
And I never like ever share this stuff, seriously ever unless I'm forced to in a class, so this is huge for me. Even Sketch would tell you it's like pulling teeth, so enjoy them while they last.
Life of a Teenage Writer - Part One
“I want to be a writer,” A.J. said to the guidance counselor. Silence ensued. He hated these kind of meetings. The awkward silence was always the worst. “All freshmen must meet with the guidance counselor to talk about their bright futures” said the flyer taped to his locker. He tapped his foot on the white tiled floors. Say something, he thought. When she didn’t he started playing with the bottom of his red cotton t-shirt, then wiped some imaginary dirt off his worn out jeans.
“That’s nice,” Mrs. Bailey finally replied, exhaling as she took off her glasses and wiped them on her shirt. Mrs. Bailey was a wide woman, horizontally and vertically. She hid her physical insecurities behind a large wooden desk which was organized to the max. Nothing was out of place. Even the pencils were evenly sharpened. A.J. looked around the room, the silence getting to him. Pamphlets and flyers covered the yellow walls of the counselor’s office in an organized pattern. “I can’t stop crying” said one; “My mother had a sex change” said another.
“Do you have any backup plans?” the older woman asked politely, putting her glasses back on and pushing her loose strands of white hair behind her ears.
A.J. wasn’t surprised at her lack of faith. He discovered a while ago that “I want to be a writer” roughly translates to “I want to live in my parents’ basement ordering chocolate by the case and drowning myself in booze.”
“No,” he replied simply.
“How would you get started?” she asked simply.
“That’s a good question.”
**Three Years Later**
“Smile kid, it’s your first book launch party!” said Charlie, A.J.’s tall, dark and frustrating agent. Charlie was dressed in a black suit, his dark hair parted to the side and his smile showed off his perfect white teeth.
A.J. flinched at Charlie’s tone. He could hear the reporters setting up equipment in the auditorium and talking amongst themselves. He ran his fingers through his dark brown hair and attempted to tie his tie.
“Stop it Charlie, you’re only making things worse,” said Kate, the ever-faithful best friend, stepping between the two of them and grabbing A.J.’s tie to re-do it. A.J. started fidgeting with his pants instead. She smacked his hands, “They look fine. You’re sweating through your shirt. Here, put on the jacket.” She picked up the black jacket from the chair and thrust it in his direction.
“I look like a penguin!” he replied, sliding in his arms in anyway. “Why do we have to do this? We didn’t do a big party for the first book and it sold fine.”
Charlie turned and looked A.J. in the eyes. “That’s because you were a no-named kid. Now there are hundreds of reporters out there waiting to get the scoop on your new sequel. You’re only sixteen and you’re already a best-selling author! Everyone wants to know what happens next to Detective Matt Harper and the rest of his geek squad. People came hundreds of miles just to see you tonight.” Charlie went out to the podium to make sure everything was set up.
“You’re not helping,” yelled Kate, pulling a comb out of her purse and running it through A.J.’s hair. She returned the comb to her purse and pulled out breath spray, chapstick, and a mirror.
“Have anything stronger in there?” he asked hopefully. Kate glared. “I’m joking… I’m so nervous.” He put on the chapstick, sprayed the breath spray and stared at himself in the mirror, his hands shaking.
“You’re going to do great,” Kate smiled and took the mirror. “Just… imagine them all naked.”
“Ew,” A.J. gagged, “the person in charge is a 40-year-old overweight bald man.”
“Okay, then imagine them all… doing the Macarena,” she amended. A.J. laughed.
“Thanks Kate. What would I do without you?” he asked looking in her eyes. Kate blushed.
“Probably end up stranded in a desert somewhere. Alright, spin. I gotta give you the once-over.” A.J. spun around quickly. “You look very handsome Azariah James.”
“Hey, don’t be full-naming me, Kath-.”
“No!” she cut him off, “There will be none of that! Truce?” Kate stuck out her hand.
“Truce,” A.J. replied shaking it. “You look very nice, by the way,” he added, still holding her hand and trying to be smooth. Kate could feel the heat radiating off her face. She looked down at her short black dress and tall high heels. They stayed hand-in-hand for a while until Charlie returned.
“Okay, so here’s what is going to happen.”
They dropped hands immediately. A.J. stepped back and ran his fingers through his hair while Kate suddenly found something in her purse fascinating.
“You go out to the podium and give the speech that we practiced. You smile for pictures, answer some questions, shake some hands, sign some autographs, and then you’re done,” Charlie said, adjusting his bow tie. “They’ll ask you about your writing routines and your inspiration. The mundane life of a writer is apparently fascinating to reporters.”
“I’m so tired of everyone asking me where I get my inspiration. Can’t they think of anything more original?” said A.J. running his hands through his hair again. Kate grabbed them and straightened it again.
“I will make you a deal,” said Charlie. “Every time you have to answer that question I will give you a quarter.”
“Score! I’ll be a billionaire by the time I’m thirty.”
“If you answer it without contempt.”
“Ah, well, millionaire then maybe.”
Charlie was the kind of man who would bribe his way into heaven if it was possible. He was always out for a quick buck but he was smart about it. If A.J. put on a smiling face for the cameras tonight and came off as charming then all the other editors would fall at his feet. If that meant getting rid of some of his spare change then so be it.
“Deal?” Charlie asked, sticking out his hand.
“Deal,” A.J. responded, stepping forward as he shook Charlie’s hand.
“You ready?”
A.J. took a deep breath. “Let the madness begin.” He gave Kate a high five and followed Charlie toward the stage. He could still faintly hear Kate sing, “Heeyyy Macarena!” and smiled.

Down on the corner, Out in the street
The problem with getting a new datebook is that you have to transcribe everything from the old datebook.
Well, I have to transcribe all the crap from my old book.
And there's a lot of crap to transcribe.
But I'm the kind of nerd that keeps notes on random stuff, like the regular stuff: this week I'll celebrate my second year working at my current branch and in my apartment,
....and then there's stuff like upcoming October 11th, 6 years ago, my college friends and I would play this game when we went places where we would count vehicles. We each had our own thing, Mustangs, bicycles, motocycles, etc. So on one occasion in particular Lindsay was kicking our ass cause she had bicycles and we were driving downtown Lincoln where they had all those bike racks. This is when we instituted the "it must be moving in order to count" so we pull up to this corner where this guy is sitting on his bike and Lindsay just can't wait to add another number to her total. But the dude is stuck at the crossing, so we of course have our windows down, and she decides to scream out, "6-6-6, Move! Move! Move!"
Which, if you didn't know she was counting six moving bicycles, you could really have taken that the wrong way.
Or how about this one, upcoming August 23rd, 5 years ago, Favorite sister-in-law and me are driving Dad's T-Bird back from Strang after eating some great burgers, when we're almost out of gas so we run to town to get some. But with the T-Bird, this thing is, the windows don't actually work so well...and it started to rain.
Then there was something about a liquor store in there somewhere, but that's a longer story.
October 4th, 3 years ago, triple to the fence. I was up to bat on church softball - this is after one of the other team's men had yelled out "back up their women can hit!" and my sister's ex was giving me crap, but we give it right back, me and my brother. Anyway, so pointed to him with the bat and told him it was coming to him, he yelled out whatever, so I hit it over his head. To the fence. And got a triple. Then he shutup. Also in the book are the two dates I slid on the gravel field and ended up with a pretty nasty scraped up leg.
It's actually amusing going through this old stuff, brings up some memories. In college I used to carry around these quote spiral notebooks in my back pocket everywhere I went, filled one per year.
Now it's just like a build-up of paper slips in my pocket.
Let me see if I can find something interesting...Flip to something random from '08.
Dr. Serck: "She covered it when we noticed I was carrying boxes that said, 'vodka'."
Basically, Serck is my 80-something year old Children's Lit professor, the one that invites me back to introduce authors like Dan Gutman and Gordon Korman at Plum Creek. Nicest lady ever, and apparently, after 20 years of teaching I was her first student who offered to help her clean up after class. It was a night class and she brought out like 80 books per session. She had this rolling cart so she could tote them back and forth between that and her pride and joy - the only professor to have their own library on campus, organized and everything. Along with the cart were these boxes covered in Snoopy wrapping paper. One student, I can't remember which, asked her one class period why her boxes had Snoopy wrapping paper on them. Her explanation was that she and her mother were carrying boxes of children's books across campus and she was getting weird looks. It wasn't until later that they noticed the boxes they were carrying the children's books in were labeled "vodka." So her mother covered it with any mother's fool-proof solution, Snoopy wrapping paper.
Sara: "When in doubt, pelvic thrust."
For my Shakespeare class with Thurber we were divided into groups to present plays that we'd gone over that year for a our final project. Our group was assigned Twelfth Night so we did a sort of Whose Line Is It Anyway kind of style, there was a E-True Shakespearian Story, the Dating Game, Malvolio the Crocodile Hunter, and Censored version. There's this scene that gets a little, um, gross so we decided that I would be the "Censored Seductress" and when it got to that part I'd put on earmuff and hold up a sign that said "Censored". When that happened they would just mouth the words and make their actions very bold. This line came into play when trying to remember where we were at in the script.
Tomorrow's Word of the Day: "Weesle a very rare, undeservedly obsolete word meaning 'to ooze'." Can't wait to use that one.

Alright, I'll give you more tomorrow. Sleeping in this morning was nice, but tomorrow it's a full day.

You're really lovely underneath it all
Alright, which one of you nerds bought me a subscription to a cooking magazine?
Seriously?!
I didn't burn down the apartment!
If I had you would have read all about it.
Didn't you read about how careful I was about not burning down my apartment?!
I opened my mail and just started laughing.
I'm still laughing.
So thanks for that.
But still, man. Ouch.
The prank war is on.
And I'm 2 points behind.
Cause Glee-Loving Boss still gives me crap about flu shots, even moreso after he planted the "flu mist nasal spray" flyer in my mailbox. That was prank number one. I wear the flyer around in my nametag cause it's funny and I'm random like that.
But my nametag also says I'm 30 percent off at Target, so there.
And This Issue is Not For Checkout, comes aplenty as well.
What else are you supposed to do with all those stickers after you take them off the magazine barcodes? You put the new magazine on the display rack and have to take the sticker off the old one.
There's pretty much just a buildup of randomness in and on my nametag.
And I'm keeping this one.
I've had to tape it multiple times since it keeps falling apart.
But that happens when you're an Aide. It gets caught in everything. Our Supply Queen sent me a pack in bulk just cause I kept asking for them. I'm keeping this one.
It also has my star - since GLB stuck one on my forehead one day mid-shift (no warning) and said I was the star. I put that on my nametag, along with the giant Mickey Mouse sticker he gave me saying I could get another if I went to get a shot.
Not happening.
At least the Mickey Mouse is sort of fitting as now I'm sort of Youth Services.
Partly.
But I'm sad cause I don't want this one to fall apart like my last one did. And that had my gold star on it from Space Cadet from the "She says I should get a sticker. Or a gold star. Or a pizza." conversation when she said I deserved it for having over 100 percent in Superwoman's point system.
So I wrote that to Superwoman who replied, "Oh good grief, she would say pizza." Then told me my prize was a snowflake sticker "compliments" of her, aka the ones on the desk we give out to kids that she didn't even know existed until she showed up that morning and said, "wow, cool snowflake stickers!" Compliments, HA!
That also went on my nametag.
But it's hanging on my door so it's cool.
Oh the sacrifices of being an Aide. Or having been one. Although my work hasn't necessarily changed as I was kind of a jack of all trades there. I'm still one, just in a different building. Like today, when there's computer problems they call on me cause Virtual Services has the weekends off.
Or taking care of the YA section. I'm weeding through that fairly quickly despite spending the majority of the day at the desks. I got through to the J's. But they started at Z so that's progress.
Lots of pulling books, putting them on carts, taking the elevator downstairs, scanning all the books and changing statuses, weeding the ones that don't make the cut, putting the rest back on the cart, taking the cart back upstairs, and re-shelving them.
And going with that, apparently my back is screwed for future use.
We had this seminar thing during a staff meeting when this dude came out from Risk Management to talk about back safety.
Giving us examples of what not to do.
Well, I do that daily.
And that.
And those as well.
Woops.
Maybe not as often anymore since I'm not an Aide. But there's still a lot of that involved in checking in and moving carts and all that.
Do you know how awkward it is to "belly up to your work" when you're pushing a cart? I keep kicking the bottom of the freaking thing.
So, if my back fails on me I'll just be like my Supplies Predecessor and get to call 911 and actually say, "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up!"
Alphabet Time.
Alright, so it's not as fun as saying T-Recs, but we're up to the U-turn.
I love No Doubt. Them plus Eminem and a lot of country were probably my favorites in Grade School, but I just found this version and it's fantastic.
Ignore the dancing animals in the background. I don't want Juwanna freaking out on me again.
"Underneath It All" - Zebrahead
awesome
"Unbelievable" Diamond Rio
pretty big fan of these guys as well. if you didn't figure that out already with our version of "Meet in the Middle" lyrics here:My Life in Closed Captions: You are the queen, but I'm, I'm just little.
"Up Around the Bend" CCR
another band i listened to a lot growing up. i blame this one on my father. but they have a lot of great songs that never get old.
Alright, I'm off.
Watch some more Leverage and make some plans to jam out with Bubby and Squirt tomorrow.
