It's handy when you're aware of how much of a morning person you are not.
Something like setting an alarm days early because you know you'll forget day-of is quite helpful.
Though a bit confusing when you wake up to your phone alarm going off at 7AM and don't remember why you set it for 7 and not the usual 8.
Oh, meeting, right.
Last coffee with the Library Goddess.
As her GA anyway.
Stoked for tomorrow's party.
Basically we go to Mizzou even though it's online. So for graduation we can either drive there and walk the stage or they can mail us our diplomas. Since it's a far drive and not everyone is going over the Library Goddess is throwing the graduates a party at her house.
And since I'm her GA I get to go even though I don't graduate until December.
I get to pour margaritas, I'm excited. The same crew I'm sure. I love our gang, they're highly entertaining.
Digital Beef Derby Girls.
Black and white uniforms with a QR code on the back. Awesomeness.
Anyway, so today work was pure crapsuck.
The morning coffee was good but it was over early so I went over to work early and basically fell back asleep downstairs - but set an alarm so I'd wake up at 9 for work.
Note to self - never do that again. You will be dead on your feet until noon.
I was literally a walking zombie until lunch.
So the work day started off crappy cause all I wanted to do was sleep - it doesn't help that I keep going to bed at 2AM, that needs to change.
And then the work day ended crappy cause I got yelled at for something that's not my fault.
And there were still like 10 patrons in the library after closing and all I wanted to do was get the heck out of there and go see my boyfriend.
Which I did. We went out for supper and then watched Collateral.
We seem to be on a Tom Cruise kick. Saw Oblivion earlier this week, Jack Reacher on our anniversary, etc.
Not bad, scale of awesome rates it at about 6/10. Jamie Foxx was fantastic. And Tom Cruise had gray hair the whole movie, totally freaked me out. But he played it well.
And the boyfriend's Mom gave me a May Day basket. I feel special.
But he fixed it all, as always. I no longer feel crapish or suckish.
Anyway, after I got back I watched, well am watching Win Win.
It's pretty good actually. Normally I'm not a fan of Paul Giamatti, not that I don't like him, I just don't search out his movies, but he's not bad in this one.
The kid is brilliant - Alex Shaffer. He was actually a wrestling champion before he became an actor.
I knew the assistant coach from something and it was driving me nuts so I had to look it up. Bobby Cannavale. Will & Grace. That's right. Okay, we're good now.
Anyway, scale of awesome says about an 8/10 for this one.
Okay, yes, it is 2AM and yes I am not sleeping.
But in my defense I am off tomorrow and don't have to be up until my dentist appointment in the afternoon.
Of which I should double check my schedule so I can figure out what time exactly I need to be up.
Alright, on to the music:
Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks
whoa, classic video.
though every time i hear the song i think of this:
oh, joan cusack. you are highly entertaining.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

Dude looks like a lady.
So no, I didn't post last night. Because really all I would have been able to say was,
Wow.
That game sucked.
I was really thinking they were going to hit 80.
It reminded me of playing Madden on my PS2 and the total domination on my end.
Kind of made me want to pull out the video game - I might still tonight before I crash.
Speaking of video games, so the boyfriend and I went shopping today. Pretty much all day. Got some stuff for my family and his parents, though I have yet to get anything for his siblings. I was hoping he would have advice on that but not so much. We'll come up with something I'm sure, we still have time.
BUT! I got ideas for him so that's exciting as his birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and then of course there's Christmas.
It was a lot of fun. We went to the mall, to Lowe's, to Best Buy, to Gamestop, to Walmart, and stopped for lunch and supper along the way.
Now I'm back at home with my big fat cat about to crash and he's off to work, blah.
I hate this whole scheduling thing, it's crap. But I love my job and he loves his job. I have a feeling it'll be like this for a while. Which is fine cause it's worth it.
Wow, amazingly short post for such a big day.
Feel like there should be more.
Hm, what else happened yesterday?
Oh, slept in.
Um.
Oh, did homework.
Um.
Oh yeah, the crapsuck that was the Big 10 championship game.
That about sums it up I guess.
So, now I'm off to bed. Have a good week!
apparently the radio station we listened to this afternoon was a fan of of aerosmith as they played his music almost every other song.
as is my boyfriend, apparently.
legitimate pre-midnight post. holy crap tag in use.
And yes, I realize I'm like super crappy blogger lady lately and haven't been posting as much as normal, but I'm back now.

Give up the funk
Today mostly sucked.
I'm having a bit of a "life sucks and then you die" kind of day.
Went to the dentist at 8AM.
Blah.
First time there as I usually go to their other office - it was closer to my hometown and I know everyone and all that.
I have never had a cavity in my life. Now apparently I have four.
They run a bunch of different tests at this one, measuring gums and doing something with lasers. Made me late to work, though I had given my boss notice in advance.
I have to go back next week to get them filled.
So, because I'm apparently a total pathetic loser I called my mom freaking out, and she's gonna take me.
But you don't understand, the last time they had to numb me for something I woke up in the dentists arms...go here: Sketch and Edit Sit in the Waiting Room
Not exactly one of my finer moments, but it did make their top five.
And I know this sounds trivial for you, cavities and all that, but anything that involves needles, or even the thought of them makes me pass out. Or at least freak out, hit my head on a desk, konk out for a few minutes then wake up in my dentists arms.
So I told him that. He said he'd give me that laughing gas stuff instead.
John Boy said I needed to take a recorder with me in case I said something worthy of blackmail.
Anyway, the fact that I was emotional and anything could set me off made me avoid coworkers and stay away from conversations and all that.
That just put me in a funk for the rest of the day, but I have great coworkers so it didn't last long.
Plus an old high school friend stopped by so I was alright by mid-afternoon.
It was just one of those days you know?
But I was productive after work, finished my takehome quiz, added to my group wiki, next step is to read some articles and post on a discussion board, then comment on 2 other peoples's posts. Should be interesting.
And I finally got to talk to Sketch about anything and everything. Which was way overdue.
At the moment I am literally about to pass out, feeling light-headed and all that so I'll post this and be off.
As I was in one for most of the day - though still had that damn billy ocean song stuck in my head - here are some great funk numbers to jam to.
"Give Up the Funk" Parliament
"Let it Whip" Dazz Band
heard this one on the new guy and laughed
