i need you now and i'll need you then.

Okay, so funny story.

Remember that makeup thing I'm supposed to go to tomorrow?

Totally lost the sheet with all her information on it so I'm screwed.

And I have massive amounts of homework so I can't go.

Which sounds lame, but it's true. If I don't get the stuff done then I'll end up doing it Friday night and it's due Saturday morning so if there's a problem I'm seriously screwed. And it's building websites which means a bunch of new software, joy.

I met up with the professor last night, but immediately following I got distracted so of course I didn't work more on it like I should. Then tonight the boyfriend was having a bad night so I headed out there 'til 11. Called Sketch on the way home cause she has having issues as well, apparently it's the time for it.

Great, just what I need.

We ran some errands, watched the Huskers lose to Penn State and then part of Titanic. We just got to the iceberg hitting the ship when he had to go to work.

But that's good, cause everything turns depressing from there on.

"I'll never let go, Jack." *lets go of hand and watched him sink. woops.* guessing spiritually not physically. poor jack.

Sad day for Jack.

Song of the day:

Clip of the day:

yes, it's crappy but Second Sister told him to look it up on youtube, so I did.

love how the crowd goes wild when the actual psy comes out.

Long day tomorrow so I'm out. Get to go to some community festival just down the street for a few hours., Love my job.

"Why don't you fly down to the maternity ward and scare some children?!"

To Dodge and back twice in two days.

Not my favorite place, but I'll bear with it for my family.

Though yesterday's was mostly by mistake, long story.

Today was interesting.

Squirt is an accomplished volleyball player and today her team won the championship.

Though it wasn't her regular team, it was like a combination of the best players from random teams put together to dominate and they succeeded.

And keep in mind, she's 14 and was asked to play in a 17-year-old tournament.

Just saying.

I'm proud.

After that we hit up Dragon Palace for some Chinese buffet and "suspicious" egg-drop soup that they said was more like pudding. That's what made it suspicious.

And now I'm home, exhausted and lying on the couch.

I'm starting to agree with Girlscout's theory of mono instead of strep.

Which is crap cause I've already had it once.

Shouldn't I be immune to it by now?

Will have to talk to the Second Sister about that as she's the doctor in the family.

All I know is I'm still exhausted, and I shouldn't still be exhausted cause it's been like weeks.

At work I can fake being fine, but here I just crash.

So, I'm going to bed.

Yes, I'm aware it's like 8:30.

And that makes me completely lame, but I can't miss anymore work. I have a lot of stuff to do this week. Mostly Summer Reading-related, plus Mentor comes back this week and I have a lot of dumb questions that she'll have the smart answers to.

You know, actually, Farrah Fawcett and Cheryl Ladd look/act semi-similar. I could see them as sisters. So the show is semi-believable. Right?

I mean, aside from the fact that it's not whatsoever.

I lost count on the exploding cars tally, there are too many of them to keep track of.

Though the random banter and fake stunts is still highly entertaining.

Especially in this episode, Bosley is in the hospital with a roommate who might be the criminal they're after and their nurse is kind of a take-no-prisoners kind of lady.

Bosley: "Are you suggesting that I expose my posterior to a total stranger?"
Nurse: "Well, once you've done it we won't be total strangers, will we?"
Bosley: "Madam, you are a sadist."

One of the best shows in history, you can hate it but its legacy lives on!

Off to bed for me.

Here's some music for you.

"Who Are You?" The Who

oh my god, i love this video. super retro, and keith dancing whilest playing drums makes me laugh. i enjoy his monogrammed shirt and the tape on his headphones.

Nurse: "You know if I was around you much more I would give you poison."
Bosley: "If you were around oftener HE'D TAKE IT!"

Go Big Red!

Nope, not dead. Just busy with homework and work work.

Posted my big fat huge blueprint assignment and my book group narrative so I'm good until class next Saturday. I'm not happy with the blueprint, but apparently I'm a perfectionist when it comes to library designs. I came up with four different designs and posted the one I hated the least. We had to move the desk. Which is fine. Except when you read through ALA's recommedations that you should be able to see through all the stacks from the desk. So that meant I had to move all the stacks. And you can't just move them and call it good, you have to angle them so you can see through them. Seriously.

But after I figured out positioning I knocked out the back wall, HUZZAH!! and built Mr. Boss Man a storytime area complete with couches and actual space for kids to spread out in. Not to mention a study room, ELL section, and a computer lab. And all I needed was 20 more feet. Not that it's actually possible, but it would be pretty cool. Maybe take us from being the first on the chopping block every time there's a budget crisis.

I suppose I can post them if you really want to see them. But like I said, four designs and I posted the one I hated the least. I'm not a fan. And it's just a sketch. And I'm not the artist, I'm the writer, big difference between Sketch and Edit there.

Anyway, crashed at about 2AM on my couch last night. That's when the mass amount of caffeine and adrenaline finally ran out. It was like I had submitted my assignment and wanted to crash, but I couldn't crash cause I was still so hyped up. Needless to say I was exhausted all day today. I was lucky in my weed of the adult fiction that more books didn't fall on my head. Only one. The rest fell on my feet. Bonus points.

And then my adrenaline came back full throttle tonight for an awesome Husker Volleyball game against Michigan. Tickets from the Cool Aunt, she rocks! Yep, did the "Roof! Roof! Roof!" cheer for blocks, yelled out "Werth" whenever he announced it - although the dude behind me was calling her "Hannah The Hammer", which I found amusing. She is pretty kickass and rocks those sport-goggles. And then to replace "Cook" they yelled "Root" who is the backup setter, even though she's a senior and Cook is a junior. Cook was missed. Seriously. I know that there should be punishment cause that was a stupid thing to do, but we need her back soon.

Michigan dominated the first set, wasn't even close. You could tell they were adjusting to the different setter. But it's okay because we came back and beat them in the next three sets. Finally got some rhythm going. And the crowd was in it, duuuude, so much louder there than at Devaney. Couldn't hear myself think whenever we had a big rally. Mancuso Jr had a big game, heard her name about every minute in the last couple sets. Paige Hubl's gotta a killer serve, very impressive. I was surprised cause we didn't hear a lot of "Delano!"s, and not as many "Werth!"s either until the last few sets. We were just off. But we pulled it together in time for a rockin' game. Sometimes the blowouts aren't as fun. And they fly by. This one was an actual battle for every point.

Music Recs of the Day:

"Country Roses" SNL Skit Jennifer Aniston host

For some reason whenever I do a weed list or major shifting I sing Dana Jean Harley's songs in my head. In order. "I'm talking to you Pam Smidley!" No idea why. They just get stuck in my head. It's like when I'm shifting I think about where I did it last and that's the song that I was singing the first time so it just keeps going and going and going...

"Adalida" George Strait live in 1996

stuck in my head.

So, big day tomorrow. Yes, I'm working, but it has nothing to do with the library... for once. I'm actually quite proud of myself at this moment. All will be explained tomorrow.

"and she said Mama, why are there snowflakes? and I said Crystal, because of you..."

You can feed the fish?

Spent the day at my old high school watching Squirt and Bubby play in a volleyball tournament and they won the championship game for their division, woohoo!

It all came down to the final game. Every other game they'd never lost a set so when they lost the first one their spirits were down, were totally depressed, getting smoked when suddenly the teacher stands up, points to Bubby who's about to serve and yells "alright bubbalicious! yeah!" and it was just like David's ball stealing play in the Husker game a couple of weeks ago - the momentum just shifted. They were goofy and excited and it worked. Social Psychology at its greatest. Thank you groupthink. flashbacks.

Needless to say we came from behind and pulled it off in the second and third set. Huzzah!

Plus Squirt and Bubby rocked it. As always.

But you know how when you're playing a sport you feel like it's super intense, but then when you go back to watch the same game 10 years later with kids the same age as you were at that time it seems like a whole different game? Like speedwise? and intensity? Like they played really well tonight and they were big games, but I feel like we were a lot more aggressive and the game was more intense when we played. But we did have the biggest class of 8th graders and a lot of us started our freshman year of high school when we came in. And a lot of my old roommates hold records for things that are still up on the boards that I checked out today, it's exciting. I was there for that, and that, and that, oh and that I had to listen about for days...So it was interesting to watch it now as comparing it to playing it then.

After that it was sushi with the Queen of Awesome. We ate and we drank and we were merry and it was awesome. And will hopefully happen again soon as I miss her lots.

We were excited when the dude gave fish food to the kids to throw in. Totally jealous. I want to feed their kickass fish. In their kickass fountain. But I'm guessing there's an age limit on that one.

Watching more 3rd Rock. It's just so short and amusing. I have so many things that I need to to catch up on though. QofA and I talked about this. So many new good shows it's hard to keep up with all the old ones.

Alright, I'm off to bed. Have a good one. I'll try to get some sleep with my big fat cat sleeping on my stomach as we speak.

ps- ignore any typos. i can't exactly see the keyboard.

Motions of Motherhood

I win! Pulled it off. But it was more like muted motherhood as I was at work more than I was with them. Though they didn't set anything on fire. Or host a party for all their friends. Or set something on fire while hosting a party for their friends. I don't think anyway.
Yesterday it was go to the house, pick up Bubby, take him to pick up Squirt from soccer practice, then we hit up Village Inn for breakfast food-ish he got chicken strips. Then watched Small Soldiers. Which made me feel old because they had never heard of it. I don't know how big it actually was in theaters because it was 1998 and I didn't know too much about movie stats at the point in my life. But I went with my cousins and it was fun. And the kids seemed to like it so it rocked. "ohhh, there goes the record..." Then this morning he had practice but I had to work so one of the other moms took him. They had frozen pizza for lunch and at 5:30 I picked them up and we went for burgers. "Don't put your lime carcass on my plate!"

I'd call it a victory. But, as mentioned previously, unless you want children named Batgirl and the Chad don't get any ideas any time soon.

Tonight I hit up the Husker volleyball game which we dominated - much like the football game...in the second half. We won it in 3 sets so it flew by super fast. It was packed. But there were many things that we learned throughout the game. The first one is, that up next after church league softball it should be church league cheerleading. We have some routines planned out. Thinking we could do our own version of Thriller saying "Cause we're the Lions! Lions, yeah..."

Also, here's a new game for you. At the Saltdogs games each player has a song that plays when they go up to bat. If it was you, what song would you pick? Something to get you pumped up but defines you as well. I'm still debating. It's a hard question. I'll let you know when I decide.

Any ideas for your own?

Songs of the day:

"Big Pimpin'" Jay Z

we got here because we were talking about James Earl Jones as being the voice of Vader and how he might have a yacht and Homey-G-Wigger said "like jay-z" and then it got stuck in my head and won't go away.

"Come On Eileen" Dexys Midnight Runners

this was another idea for a walkup song. i think. but it's also stuck in my head.
Come on, Eileen! good softball chant.

Tomrrow is a big day, working then singing - possibly - then softball so i'm gonna crash now and hopefully be ready and awake.
oh that's another thing. bubby - the 11 year old - makes coffee in the mornings. Cause he's all grown up... but then he turns on Spongebob and it's like that whole adult thing is erased.

out!
