"You just killed a helicopter with a car." "I was out of bullets."

On to Live Free or Die Hard.

aka Die Hard 4.0

aka my favorite of the series so far.

Bruce Willis likes it better than 2 or 3 as the sequel.

Watched an exclusive interview between Bruce and Kevin Smith.

He plays Warlock but you probably know him from Clerks.

or Jay and Silent Bob.

He's highly entertaining, but he pointed out that Bruce has done a Die Hard movie in the 80's, 90's the 00's and now the 10's.

The boyfriend is convinced Willis is gonna be in a wheelchair for the next movie.

So yes, finishing up my marathon. Watched 1 last night and started number 2 - fell asleep so finished that one and number 3 this morning. Now I'm on 4 but can't watch 5 cause it's still in theaters, but I've rambled about that one already anyway go here: You asked for a large bag of hair on the way to Taganskaya Courthouse.

Just starting this one, he's currently picking up Matt Farrell - I love Justin Long, another one of my top favorites mentioned yesterday.

And now his apartment's being blown to pieces.

I do like all 5 but this is my favorite. Mostly because of the actors involved - Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (who makes an appearance in number 5) - and I like the whole government fire sale aspect to it.

The boyfriend likes the 2nd one best. My favorite scenes in that movie are the ones with his wife on the plane cause of her back and forth with the reporter who has a restraining order against her (after she punched him in the 1st movie.)

Richard Thornburg: [sits down and sees Holly looking at him] Stewardess!
Stewardess: Mr. Thornburg, you cannot monopolize my time.
Richard Thornburg: You cannot put me near that woman.
Stewardess: Excuse me?
Holly McClane: He means he's filed a restraining order against me. I'm not allowed within 50 feet of him.
Richard Thornburg: 50 yards. So by keeping me in the section you are violating a court order. I can sue you and this airline. That woman assaulted me and she humiliated me in public.
Stewardess: [walks over to Holly and whispers] What did you do?
Holly McClane: Knocked out two of his teeth.
Stewardess: Would you like some champagne?

I've only seen it twice, along with number 3.

Which I also like a lot because of the Simon Says stuff along with Samuel L. Jackson as Zeus.

Zeus: Why you keep calling me Jésus? I look Puerto Rican to you?
John McClane: Guy back there called you Jésus.
Zeus: He didn't say Jésus. He said, "Hey, Zeus!" My name is Zeus.
John McClane: Zeus?
Zeus: Yeah, Zeus! As in, father of Apollo? Mt. Olympus? Don't fuck with me or I'll shove a lightning bolt up your ass? Zeus! You got a problem with that?
John McClane: No, I don't have a problem with that.

[McClane and Zeus are speeding through Central Park]
Zeus: Are you aiming for these people?
John McClane: No. Well, maybe that mime.

Here are a few of my favorites from this one:

Matt Farrell: Awww, great! There goes the cell phone.
John McClane: They knocked the satellites out of the skies, now?
Matt Farrell: No, your battery ran out.

The Warlock: [to Matt] Why did you bring a cop to my command center?
John McClane: [laughs] Command center? It's a basement.
The Warlock: [angrily] Who is this man?

[standing next to a stand-up cardboard cut-out of Boba Fett]
The Warlock: What, like, you a big fan of the Fett?
John McClane:  No. I was always more of a Star Wars guy.

Thomas Gabriel: I can't talk this guy. You talk to him. See if you can get him to focus.
[hands cell phone to Lucy]
Lucy McClane: Dad?
John McClane: Hi, baby.

Lucy McClane: Now there are only five of them.

[to terrorists over radio]
John McClane: Hey, Metro, how's your day goin' over there? Yeah, you gotta be pretty, uh, crazy over there, what with all those 5-87's, huh?
Mai Lihn: Yes, sir, we've had to dispatch all units.
John McClane: Yeah, you had to dispatch all units for all the naked people walkin' around?

[after the presidential montage]
Casper: That was creepy.
Trey: I tried to find more Nixon.

Matt Farrell: [to Lucy] Wow, I know that tone. It's just weird hearing it come from someone... with hair.

Just one of the many reasons I love it.

Today was good.

Aside from the all the Die Hard I mean, went in to work for a couple of hours. Was swamped the first and dead the next. But was good bonding time with Girlscout.

We talked pets.

Showed her the picture of Carter with the snowpeople.

Cause he's like monstrous in comparison.

And he sleeps on my stomach.

It would be adorable if it wasn't killing my back.

He's currently decked out beside me.

But anyway, so yes, slept in, watched Die Hard's 2 and 3, went to work, went grocery shopping.

Came home, unpacked groceries, ate supper, now on to Die Hard 4.

And that was my day.

Tomorrow will be much different I'm sure. Back to the regular 9-6, plus gotta call the dentist to set up an appointment.

I actually started flossing, aren't you proud?

Although by "started" I mean like twice.

This week.

But that's better than nothing.

I'll start doing it until the appointment and then quit again until next time.

And there's a TAB meeting.

Get to plan out logistics for SR events and the kickoff party.

Yeehaw.

Alright, on to the music, then back to the movie.

Just a Fool - Christina Aguilera Feat. Blake Shelton

love this song.

and that it debuted on the voice.

which starts next week, get ready.

stoked.

love her.

will of course miss Xtina and Cee-Lo, but I've always loved Shakira. and Usher is alright I guess, so we'll see how this goes.

Thank you frailty. Thank you consequence. Thank you, thank you silence.

I feel like I should be doing homework.

Granted the only assignment this week isn't due until Friday, but still.

It feels weird to actually have time to sit around and watch TV.

No discussion boards, plus I finished the newsletter and sent it to the Library Goddess, so the only pressing matter on mind is that Bosley's gone missing and is in big trouble.

He was trying to be spontaneous cause he felt the Angels knew him to well so he disappeared, sending them clues to see if they could figure out where he went and now he's been drugged and kidnapped.

See what happens when my boyfriend works second shift?

I watch like 3 discs worth of 70's awesomeness.

And apparently my theory of no one wanting to be Sabrina was false, no matter how many TV interviews I'd watched about the series, two of my library friends still say she was their favorite.

I also neglected to mention yesterday that my ex boyfriend's mother was Kate Jackson's stunt double.

Which was awesome.

It's interesting to see how many big-named actors have made guest appearances on the show and to see where they are now. Dennis Cole - dead - appeared in three different episodes as three different characters but they kept casting him because he was married to Jaclyn Smith.

I find it amusing when spouses make cameos, like Jason Sehorn on WMC appearing as basically himself. He walks out of a room right as Angie Harmon's character walks in claiming, "why can't I get a guy like that?!" Though according to the awesomeness that is Demi he has no interest in appearing in Rizzoli and Isles.

Bummer. I might actually watch that episode.

I'm so far behind, I watched the whole first season, bought it plus the second but have failed to watch any of the third...or the second that I already own.

Oldest Sister took advantage of that and watched it whilst babysitting my apartment waiting for the mattress men.

Speaking of Oldest Sister, totally missed out on a family thing at Second Sister's house today cause I had to work. Bummer. Oh well, I shall hopefully see them at some point this weekend since I'm off for three days.

And then have to go back to work on my birthday, but the three days before it make up for that.

I think.

Ah, she does believe you John Bosley. And she's sorry for drugging you, kidnapping you, and for shooting at your friends.

She's a keeper.

Carter is less than enthused about this show, he fell asleep on my lap about 5 minutes in, then glared at me every time I've gotten up to switch out discs.

But really it's either this or Storage Wars as that is currently filling up my DVR.

Don't judge me.

It's good to fall asleep to.

Interesting, yet not interesting enough to keep me awake for three hours after I should have fallen asleep.

Speaking of sleep it's getting late. Big day tomorrow, gotta finalize my TAB agenda for the meeting on Tuesday cause I only go in for two hours Monday.

Finally found a bunch of fun ideas for Summer Reading Events - aside from the golf, which I got my official approval email about, woohoo!

All thanks to the rebuttal email that took me 2 hours to write and drove BossLady nuts cause I kept making her proofread it.

But the other stuff sounds fun too, bring your favorite book and make a board game about it - found some fun templates - paper lanterns, painting glass, sand bowls, making masks, homemade bracelets, etc. I'll post more about them after they make their decision on Tuesday.

Alright, on to the music.

I'm slowly running out of songs to recommend, but I guess that happens after 725 posts. I didn't do music recs until about 3 months in, but with 2 per post after that that's still over 1000 songs rec'd.

Geez.

So I'll hit you with some classics.

The song that never dies:

Footloose - Blake Shelton

reminds me of him on The Voice. "I don't wash my truck. Ever."

haven't seen the new movie cause i figured it'd kill the original.

And one I sing often at work:

Thank You - Alanis Morissette

too catchy for its own good.

and i'm out.

Rock, Chalk, SilverHawk

Went to watch Squirt play some volleyball tonight with my sisters.

She dominated, got some killer spikes and all that. Would have made Juwanna proud.

That was pretty much the highlight of the day, jamming with the family.

Not much happened during the day aside from the TAB meeting.

Which was not my favorite of meetings.

I like the kids, they're great, but it's a little difficult to keep some of them on task.

Especially the newer, younger ones.

And it tends to annoy the older ones.

So I'm trying to be understanding, but my new motto is if the story you're raising your hand to tell us has nothing to do with the meeting at hand it can wait until later.

We mostly talked over our art project that will take place on this upcoming Tuesday. We'll be decorating our young adult area with some cool homemade posters and bookmarks and all that. I'm excited, and they seemed excited, I think.

But they're teenagers, maybe they think it's totally lame and are humoring me.

I think making bookmarks would be fun. Got lots of cardstock stuff, will get them to do their own homemade designs, then laminate and cut them out. Just create like a stockpile of them in the YA are for people to use.

But again, they're teenagers, perhaps they think doing that and painting/sketching/etc posterboard and hanging it up is lame.

Guess we'll find out on Tuesday.

It was just one of those meetings, you know?

I don't know, maybe it was an off day for me or them or whatever, it just was weird. So I let them out like 10 minutes early after touring the YA area and the basement when I showed them our stock of supplies.

So the game helped, had a lot of fun and cheered loud.

Was amused that Oldest Sister and the King of Useless Knowledge - aka my eldest brother in law - were the loudest parents there.

After the game I bought some popcorn from my nephew - woohoo for fundraisers - and came home to watch The Voice. Some cool battle rounds tonight, all of my favorites that battled survived aka Aquile, Melanie and Celica.

she's great. no smoke and mirrors here.

Out for the night.

Maybe some sleep with knock me back from this off-ness.

Very superstitious, writings on the wall...

Alright, Avengers is covered, now it's time for The Voice and Castle finales.

Thoughts?

I'm thinking, awesome.

For the pair.

I guessed a long while back that Jermaine was gonna take it. And he definitely deserved it. He did have a major edge already being on stage with Alicia Keys, and I think people really feared him because of it. Experience means less nerves which means better stage presence.

I like him, I like his voice, and I think Blake's a great coach - he's super picky about turning around during the Blind Auditions so you know if he does they're worth it.

Background singer no more.

I was just seriously excited for Juliet Simms for getting second. When it was announced that Tony got third and she had a shot at being first her jaw just dropped.

She was my favorite of the final four,
"I thought we were gonna make a toast and then we got a car? I don't have a car so I need this!"
"I feel like I'm on Oprah!"

I'm guessing they'll all get record deals, that's what happened last year. I wanna hear more of Juliet Simms. I got one of Automatic Loveletter's CD's through interlibrary loan - that was her band before she made The Voice. It's great. Same gravelly voice, but with original lyrics.

Here's some highlights from the finale:

Notice how I don't include Bieber Fever. Though I did enjoy Erin saying they were going to stalk him backstage.

definitely one of my favorite moments. basically the final four brought back former season two competitors and they sang together. This was Jermaine's bringing back Pip, Jamar and James for some Jackson Five. Love the choreography. And they're all so different from each other. I miss James and Pip, they were great.

such a random pair for Juliet to bring back, I was just intrigued, seriously. but i guess Raelynn was like her little sister and Jamar was just always so positive and as they were the final two for Team Cee-Lo it makes sense.

a little random since they weren't the final four, but awesome just the same. Sera rocked it.

i like this combo, Chris is great with opera but then you've got Lindsay's unique tone and Katrina's powerful vocals, it was great.

"this is what they were afraid of purrfect, they're gonna fire us."this is my impression of purrfect..." too funny.

love it. seriously love it. "i can't say the same."

save the best for last.

okay, i literally jumped up and down. literally got up and jumped. and at that point i was like, okay, Tony can win and i'll be okay with it. all because he brought Jordis back. she's my favorite, unless you missed all my rambles throughout the season.

She's just so great, she has a grit to her voice and serious power, great at both relaxed like "wild horses" and then hardcore like "maybe i'm amazed".

Hope she makes the "best of" CD. Or gets a record deal.

Can't wait until next season.

Speaking of, Castle's finale was huge!

Whilst the case storyline wasn't all that spectacular, actually I was a little let down by that, but the end made it worth it.

Now I just hope they don't screw it up like Bones.

I think they had their season finale as well, but I'm so far behind and for some odd reason have no motivation to catch.

Think it's all because things changed when they got together.

You can tell I'm not the only one. When a show changes nights that means it's at risk. If everybody was tuning in when it was on there'd be no reason to change things, they would already dominate in number of viewers.

Maybe Castle will be different.

I'm wondering if that's part of the reason why they're holding off on Ziva and Tony on NCIS.

And why Penny and Leonard broke up, course I'm behind on that too so for all I know they could be back together.

Too much pressure to keep them together. Plus it takes away motivation to keep watching since they're already together.

That's one of the reasons Frasier did so well. They didn't end up getting together until like the 8th season. And people kept watching because they had to see how it happened and then what happened next.

That's how I got sucked in, it was like finally! But now I have to watch until they get married and then I had to watch until they had kids and then I had to keep watching to see how it all ended.

On the agenda for today was a halfday at work then a meeting for grad school stuff. Basically I'm gonna be her grad assistant and have to take over her current duties. One of them is to lead these comprehensive exam study sessions where you get tips from those who took it and learn how to submit them - we don't have a major test, just a bunch of essays.

It was pretty informal, basically just went over the necessary steps. And then I talked to her about GA stuff, puts me at ease knowing what's coming and how to handle it.

I think I'll be okay. It's just a couple of semesters. Plus you know taking three classes and the homework and working 40 hours and directing a youth camp and doing TAB stuff...yeah, that's not bad at all.

I'd give you a music rec, but I gave you plenty above. I'm out.
