Tonight is all about The Avengers.

Tomorrow I'll cover the season finales of The Voice and Castle.

Hit up "The Avengers" last night with The Boyfriend.

It was epic.

9/10 on the Scale of Awesome.

Comedy + Action = definitely going to see it again.

3D made it even better.

And it had Skywalker Sound. So you could literally close your eyes out of context and mistake it for Star Wars.

Lots of laser guns and space ships.

But it was a good mix of humor and action, not an over-abundance of humor to distract from the action, but lots of key moments and good one-liners.

Coulson: "I watched you while you were sleeping. I mean, I was present when you were unconscious... from the ice."


Coulson: "He's like a Stephen Hawking." *Captain America confused* "He's like a really smart person." 


I was proud of Coulson. He had a really central role to the movie which makes me want to read up on the history of the character. Especially since he was the one that really brought them together. But it's interesting to re-watch some of the prequels and see his cameos in each.

And I like that he turns all fangirls on Captain America with the trading cards.

Captain America: "There's only one God, ma'am, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."


Chris Evans was great as Captain America. It's amusing to think that he's actually another superhero in the Marvel Universe as well since he was Johnny Storm in "Fantastic Four". Which wasn't as good as these last few Marvel movies, but still worth watching for any Marvel fan.

I read an article - recommended to me by the Awesome Aide - in Entertainment Weekly about the Avengers. The interviewer was with the entire cast while they were like eating and playing with their action figures and I think Joss or Chris Evans mentioned that this movie was supposed to take place only three weeks after Captain America: First Avenger.

So he's still in that old-fashioned soldier mentality, calling people ma'am and sir.

Hasn't been tainted by modern times.

Yet totally excited he understood the flying monkeys reference.

It's cute.

But manly.

So not cute, let's go with polite.

Iron Man: "Let's do a headcount. Your brother - the demigod - a super soldier - a living legend who lives up to the legend - a man with breathtaking anger management issues, a couple of master assassins, and you, big fella, have managed to piss off every single one of 'em."

Like I said.

Epic.

Robert Downey Jr. steals every scene he's in. I'm wondering how much of his lines were scripted and how many were ad-libbed. He's good with that.

Iron Man: "You have reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark, please leave a message." 
Coulson: "This is urgent." 
Iron Man: "Then leave it urgently." 

Iron Man: "Phil? Um, his first name is Agent." 

Iron Man: "Make a move, Reindeer Games."

Iron Man: "Please tell me nobody kissed me."

Iron Man: "You ever tried shawarma? ... I don't know what it is but I wanna try it." 

Was stoked to see Pepper Potts made an appearance.

Iron Man: "I'm going to pay for that comment about percentages in some subtle way later, aren't I?"
Pepper: "Not gonna be that subtle."

Iron Man: "I thought we were having a moment."
Pepper: "I was having twelve percent of a moment."

I love the two of them together, Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Two of my favorite people, their bickering just works, you know?

Yep, I think Iron Man is my favorite out of the whole gang, and I owe that entirely to Robert Downey Jr.

Not that the other super heroes aren't great. Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow comes in as a close second, but there's something about Downey Jr's snarky, compulsive, charming personality that gets to me.

Iron Man: "Doth mother know you wear-eth her drapes?"

I love the technology aspect of his character.

And I really want a Jarvis.

Iron Man: "Jarvis, you ever hear of the tale of Jonah?"
Jarvis: "Uh, I wouldn't consider him as a role model."

Actually there were a lot of, "I want one of those" moments.

Anyway, looking at superhero powers, you'd think I would want to be like Thor with the hammer and the lightning, or Captain America with the shield and super strength, right?

Nope, Iron Man is my favorite. Which is amusing because before the movies I knew absolutely nothing about him.

Or really any of the Avengers aside from Captain America.

And Thor.

But a different kind of Thor.

Whilst being pretty much the same kind of Thor.

Originally I was completely lost as to how he fit in with them as he's not exactly from earth.

But with this storyline it fits.

I was just sad that Natalie Portman couldn't make a cameo.

Oh well, I'll just have to stay tuned for Thor 2.

Chris Hemsworth was excellent as Thor.

Hulk: "That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him."
...
Thor: "He's my brother."
Black Widow: "He killed 80 people in two days."
Thor: "He's adopted."

Definitely showed how he was right for the role. I read that it pretty much came down to him, his brother and some other dude. Though his brother did end up with "The Hunger Games" so I'm guessing it wasn't a total loss for him.

The one member of the Avengers that I wasn't really attached to that I'm still on the edge about is The Hulk.

I just don't get him.

I blame the past couple of movies.

They weren't great.

Though Mark Ruffalo did do a fantastic job with the character. Maybe they'll make a new one with him in it. According to John Boy they have to make a new movie with the heroes every so many years so the rights to the characters don't expire.

Anyway, with the Hulk it was mostly science stuff, but he brought out some good reaction one-liners.

Iron Man: "You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?"

Worker: "You did scare the hell out of some pigeons though...Big and green and buckass nude."

Him punching Thor was a major highlight. Or his smashing of Loki.

Hulk: "Puny god."

Moving on to the lesser known characters.

Black Widow: "Like Budapest all over again." 
Hawkeye: "You and I remember Budapest very differently." 

I love Natasha Romanoff. Scarlett Johansson kicked some serious butt as Black Widow. And Jeremy Renner was so great, literally SO GREAT as Hawkeye. Their back and forth was fantastic.

They're really the only ones you don't know much about going in aside from Nick Fury. With Hawkeye you're a little wary at first, especially since he was going to shoot an arrow at Thor when he came back for his hammer, and then Loki turns him evil right at the start, but you're still rooting for him.

And with Black Widow as an assassin you wonder what her life had been life, before Stark Technologies.

Loved her opening with the interrogation whilst tied to a chair.

Reminded me of Dylan in Charlie's Angels.

Samuel L. Jackson was Nick Fury the ultimate spy with the eye patch and cool leather jacket.

Fury: "Ant. Boot." 

Iron Man: "How does Fury even see these?"
Agent Hill: "He turns."
Iron Man: "Exhausting."

I'm sorry, but whenever I see him in that eyepatch all I can think of is, "Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you to exit the donut!"

I was really impressed with Tom Hiddleston as the bad guy.

Captain America: "What's the matter, scared of a little lightning?"
Loki: "I'm not overly fond of what follows."

They said that he hated that helmet, so he channeled his rage into his acting.

Worked wonders.

Loki is an excellent villain to fit with the storyline. I've been reading up on the mythology, cause I'm kind of a mythology nerd. He was always the trickster so it's interesting to interpret it this way.

For me, not surprisingly, the movie basically came down to the characters and their relationship with each other. Every good movie has to have characters that are able to go back and forth and that it be believable.

Captain America: "Are you nuts?"
Iron Man: "Jury's out." 

So I liked that they didn't get along right away cause if they did it wouldn't have been believable.

Loki: "I have an army." 
Iron Man: "We have a hulk." 

Iron Man: "I'm bringing the party to you." 
Black Widow: "I-I don't see how that's a party." 

Iron Man: "Better clench up, Legolas." 

Captain America: "And Hulk?" *turns* "Smash." 

It's the back and forth that makes the movie.

Loved the scene after the credits.

Complete silence but completely worth it to see them eating and the people in the background cleaning up.

Hilarious.

Looking forward to the sequel.

I mean, with a huge blockbuster like this you know it's coming.

Or leaving us with that ending is just mean.

The writer monkey has struck again - keeping this semi-short so I can get back to that while the muse is still here.

I’m in a quandary. A Sophie’s Choice sort of situation. Sort of. I mean, I might be in one. It depends. There are two things that I might have to choose between. And it’s hard to choose between two things that mean a lot to you, you know? And it’s like Sophie’s Choice – except that Sophie’s Choice is long and depressing and then longer and more depressing and then you think it’s over but it’s actually not cause you’re only 2 hours in and haven’t even gotten to the part where she has to make the freaking choice let alone know what she’s freaking choosing about so you stick with it even though it gets even longer and even more depressing. Then! After she makes the choice it’s too painful to watch the rest of the movie – which is at least another half an hour long – so you change the channel and put on a comedy just to get those awful thoughts out of your head. Sorry Mom, I refuse to watch it ever again. Just no.

But this is a whole Might situation, maybe I won’t have to choose because you know there are other people out there who are smarter and qualified and all that… but still, it’s there, looming in the background. Now it just depends on what the Library Goddess has to say. After that it’s Superwoman and then me. But I have a few days to get it all figured out.

You know how hard it is to be in 3 places at once? Today I was on the phone on the second floor while helping a patron on the first floor and checking other patrons out at the desk. I find that I’ve changed a lot since I’ve started working there just because it’s so hectic all the time and if I don’t know what I’m doing I have enough acting ability to pretend like I do. It’s like the me vs. qualified people thing again. I’m a Professional BS-er which really is just another term for “English Major”. I’m owning up to it. Before I was just a nerdy loner chick who ate lunch in her car. Oh don’t awww me, it’s better than the cliché lunch tray in the bathroom thing.

But it’s best if you seem confident in what you’re doing and remain positive, especially about the new system - it just makes us look bad if you bash it in front of the patrons. I use the words “quirks” as in “we’re still figuring out its quirks”, “wonky” as in “since we switched over the self-checks have been a bit wonky” and “we’re working on it” as in “we’re working on it” – well, “they’re working on it” a lot but it seems better than just bashing it and hoping to go back. Cause we’re not going back. I spend the majority of my downtown just figuring out shortcuts and doing random searches to see how best to navigate the catalog, but I’m a nerd like that.

And somebody! I ain’t mentioning names! Has branded me “Koha Whisperer” and 1-800’s me whenever there’s a problem. So I have to at least know a little bit about what I’m explaining. One of these days I’m just gonna write a handbook, print it off, highlight stuff and hang it around the desks. Then I can just walk by, point to a piece of paper and continue shelving.

But I like being the expert, it makes me feel useful, especially since I’m lowest on the food chain there. I don’t think I’ve ever been the expert on anything relevant to daily life. I mean other than movies, TV, music or anything Drew Barrymore. Which was daily life before I got the job. Jobs.

So, remember how yesterday I ended with the whole gonna finish that freaking puzzle thing? And then of course I didn't finish the freaking puzzle, I watched a movie instead - my motivation can only last so long which is why I'm typing so fast in hopes that I'll keep working on that damn apartment story after posting this, where was I?
Oh right, well I'm glad I didn't finish it cause this morning I woke up and Carter had destroyed the whole freaking thing. Like there are pieces of it all over my living room. So yeah, either he's taking out his rage/energy on tiny chunks of cardboard because they're a stationary target or he's some sort of cosmic judge saying that I've taken too long to put together a "simple" 300 piece puzzle and now as punishment for putting it off I get total annihilation instead. Thanks dude.
Or maybe he just knows me well enough that he knows I'll keep putting it off and putting it off and eventually get tired of it being in the way so I'll put it back in the box and throw it in the corner anyway. So really, he could be saving me hassle in the future. Or he's a punk.
It's an either/or situation.

It's not actually.

I already know he's a punk. Much like my work friends already know I'm crazy. There's no either/or involved in that.

Totally have been neglecting my Gwyneth’s One Name Campaign thing as in “that’s so Gwyneth!” - will have to start using that again. It’s pretty much the equivalent of Wicked Awesome.
Everyone can use some Gwyneth in their life. Especially now that school is starting again and all that. People are in this sort of mood. Like somber mood. Gonna shake them up with some Gwyneth. Maybe that'll be my slogan for the campaign. "Shake up your day with some Gwyneth." She does have a multi-million dollar music deal on the table. She will soon be gracing our radios - and my ipod - huzzah!

oh the joy...

My last day off in a very long time....I spent it sleeping in, having play practice with the kids, then watching Country Strong with Grandma (25-yr-old-coworker).

Sleeping in in an apartment with no curtains to block out the sun is harder than it sounds. I mean, I have blinds, but that doesn't do much. So, yeah, gonna have to go curtain shopping sometime soon cause it's driving me bananas. Then got to drive out to play practice with Carter and came up with yet another list of musical artists he does not enjoy similar to those listed here My Life in Closed Captions: And you're the only one...who...MEOW! and here My Life in Closed Captions: Happy Christmas Eve Eve!
This time it was the Christmas song by the Chipmunks - he might have been right about that one, how long is too long for xmas music to stay on your ipod?
Also "I hear you knocking" by Wynonna which I totally jam out to, I don't know what his problem is.
He did, however, enjoy the "Elephant Love Medley" from Moulin Rouge. Maybe he agrees everyone should have someone to scream at inside an elephant.

Play practice flew by pretty quickly. We finally went through all the songs. Some of them are just plain weird so I think we're going to be doing a lot of cut and pasting. Also, since I'm going to be working a lot this week the next time I can go out to practice with them isn't until the 9th and the play is the 12th! But I'm sure Nic can handle this. She's playing the music anyway so she can decide what to keep and what to pitch. Plus they know most their lines, it's just what order they go in and who they come after that they're having troubles with.

Country Strong gets a 7/10 on my Scale of Awesome, purely for the acting. Gwyneth and the rest pf the cast were amazing. The storyline, however, was completely depressing and I'd be okay with not watching it again. The soundtrack is pretty good though, I got a few of the songs off itunes, but yeah. Totally depressing, it got to the point where Grandma (25-yr-old-coworker) and myself were yelling at the tv.

Glee, gotta love it. "Barbra Streisand" from this week's episode.

I don't think I've laughed this hard in a very long time.
I especially like Puck at 1:29 and 2:36. It's just a fantastic song, and I'm glad it's got the tmobile commercial feel again. Same setting as when they did the Safety Dance as well.

Anyway, tomorrow is inservice so I'm going to bed the minute I post this since it's an early morning and a long day. Hope you have a good one.

Which is handy if something bad happens and you need someone to blame it on. But also kind of sucks when people think you're them when you're actually not. Anyway, if you think you know me from pre-2010 and you aren't from my hometown, a member of my family, classmate or campmate then you probably don't. This makes things like parking garages awkward. No I don't know you. No I didn't go to that high school. While my short-term memory is crap (ask my non-school friends) my long-term actually doesn't suck.
I'm totally serious about this, and I know I have one because my high school classmate lived in the same dorm as her in college. She rides a bike which clearly screams Not me! since I haven't ridden a bike since Dad decided to steal my tire and use it as a turn-the-wheel game at the home and garden show like 8 years ago. Actually, I think he used the tire because I wasn't riding the bike, but I like my version better. I went away to high school! And college! When was I supposed to ride a bike? Plus, bikes, on gravel? Not as fun.

And yes that NCIS clip was necessary, I could have posted the entire episode "Doppelganger" from when Kate was still around but I figured that would be too long. It's a fantastic episode but this is from season three, when Jenny was alive and had long hair.


So, I'm watching Star Wars episode 5. Last night the Wordsmith and me ordered pizza and watched episode 4 - mostly because I wanted to watch out for the anecdotes Carrie Fisher talked about in her autobiography. So I have yet to watch Country Strong - "Gwyneth" word count = 1 "Those t-shirts would be so Gwyneth!" - Also because I can't remember how Leia figures out she and Luke are siblings. I'm a nerd but not like a total crazy obsessed nerd. I remember how Luke finds out he's Vader's son - duh - but not about Leia and Luke. I just remember her kissing him in beginning episode 5. Was she like, "That was so bad, he must be my brother." Which reminds me - I was at the dentist a couple months ago and the dentist was like, "So (insert brother's name) is your husband?" I believe my exact words were, "Um, gross." "Brother. Got it." My sister-in-law goes to a different dentist so I guess since we have the same last name it would sort of make sense? Gross.

In celebration of awesome classic music for 69 cents on itunes. Hooray! I especially like the guy next to the drums whose only job it seems is to clap and dance like an idiot.

Ha! there's this episode of Ace of Cakes where they're talking about the Millennium Falcon inside the asteroid. "If you think you're in a giant worm, shoot the ground!" That's where I'm at now. And, okay, some time between episode 3 and episode 5 Yoda went bonkers.

My coworkers are cooler than your coworkers...

What brought this back is that apparently, people think I'm nuts because I would rather work than do something else. Some are joking and some are boyfriends who are upset by my priority choices. But seriously, how often can you find coworkers who will pretend to be your girlfriend to make the creepers go away, or give you their happy meal toys, or form a fake band, or make up slogans to wear on matching tshirts, or go along with your crazy nickname system, or turn super protective when something goes wrong? When you're able to go to work and actually not mind the fact that you're at work instead of at home sleeping - that's when you know that you found somewhere you belong. Anyway, if you still don't understand and think my priorities are skewed then that just proves my point. You don't have coworkers as cool as mine.

Moving on.

Okay, so I had this major update to a new ipod recently since I have too much music to fit in an 8GB one. Sad, I know. So, instead of just 1500 songs now I have over 4000 and counting. I'm feeling a bit like Abby right now when she buys ipods for everyone on NCIS and Gibbs says he only listens to 5. She's like only 5000? Here I'll find it.


Anyway, since there's an increase in songs on the ipod there's also an increase in skippage aka putting it on shuffle and skipping songs until I get to one I actually listen to frequently. I mean, I listen to all of them but there are certain like contexts for each song... If that makes sense. Like sometimes you don't want to listen to a song, not because you don't like it, you're just not in the mood for it. Anyway, my point is, I found a few songs that I not only never skip but constantly put the thing on repeat and listen to them over and over. And I know I've done favorite songs day during favorites week My Life in Closed Captions: These are a few of my favorite things - Day One: M... (yes I will overload you with links in this post) so I'm limiting these to songs that have only come out recently (or semi-recently). I'm pretty sure I've posted at least half of these before, oh well.

This is a total jam out song, I'm diggin it. Loving these guys (despite that they look like they're 12), and iTunes for giving it to me for free. iTunes' free music each week isn't actually all that bad, especially for indie stuff.

Why my new relationships never work. Kind of a theme song for me actually. Which is why it goes on repeat.


Song 4: Somebody to Love - Glee version of Queen

Loving this version, and the choreography is excellent as always.

Pretty sure this one has everything to do with the deep voice. It's like Josh Turner all over again.


Song 6: Forget You - Glee version of Cee-Lo Green

If you're only going to watch one of these videos make it this one. Gwyneth is amazing. She's like Cher or Ellen - she doesn't even need a last name, I'm gonna start a campaign! I'll call it the "Gwyneth needs no last name campaign" . Rhymes and everything. She's so talented and so funny that there can only be one word to describe her awesomeness: "Gwyneth". You could use it as an adjective like as in, "That outfit is so Gwyneth! Like oh my god!" She's someone who can actually pull off something like naming her child "Apple" and I'm okay with it. (Look it up I'm not making that up). I'm doing it. I'll start a trend. "Gwyneth" is going to be my word of the week. Don't question the "Gwyneth".
I don't know about you, but I'm totally making the Wordsmith watch "Country Strong" with me tonight. He's used to my chick flicks anyway.

Okay, right now, gotta say I'm loving Anne Hathaway. "You are the Wolve to my Rine." Not that I didn't already love her, she's actually kind of awesome. I already rambled about Get Smart on favorites day whatever...two? yeah, day two. Plus, James Franco in a dress? That was niiiice... BTW - loved their musical version of Harry Potter totally gonna find that on youtube later.
As you've probably guessed, yes I am watching the Oscars which is another one of my favorite things. I'm kind of an Awards Junkie so it's cool for Day 7 to fall on tonight. Not like I planned it that way, I'm not that smart.

And wow, day 7. I think I've gotten more hits this week than any other so that's big. There's people overseas reading about my obsessions. Madness. Sadly I'm glad it's day 7 because I have no idea what other topics I could cover. Fashion trends? I was big into tearaways for years. lots of tearaways and backwards hats. then dyed hair, which is still around. Catchphrases? there's too many of those. I could go all "Inside the Actor's Studio" on you and talk about my favorite swear word. Which I won't. Although I have been saying "Janet" a lot as I think it has artistic integrity. Hooray for Rocky Horror. I tried "oh pigeons" Mark, really I did. But I just can't pull it off like you.

Celebrity making a comeback - Gwyneth Paltrow, fave Glee ep this season (aside from Rocky Horror) was the Substitute so I'm stoked for her coming back and Anne Hathaway is joining the cast as well, woohoo!
Celebrity I wasn't a fan of at first but now I'm growing to love - Dana Delaney, did you see her in Castle? "What part of un-ass do you not understand?" stoked for her new series. yet another female ME I'm going to love. Claire WMC...Maura R&I...the ME from the Closer is kinda girly with his long hair, does he count? I do enjoy him. haha.
Quote - F. Scott Fitzgerald's "Show me a hero and I will write you a tragedy." that I carry around in my back pocket cause I'm a nerd. That's followed closely by "Gazelle Swagger" which is a ZH original and more of a long story.
Icecream flavor - Mint chip...or sherbet but that's yogurt so it doesn't count
Cartoon growing up - Scooby Doo. or Garfield. I was also really big into That's So Raven. "Dancin' Iguana, Dancin' Iguana!" "Good evening good sir knight and...ugly hag?!"
Movie nominated for Best picture this year - King's Speech totally deserved all 12 noms but 4 wins will do.
Ipod app - Angry Birds. I'm hooked man.
Foreign language total jam out song - is a tie between "Dragostea Din Tei" aka the Numa Numa song or "Boten Anna" by Basshunter. Both are frequents on my ipod. I encourage you to check them both out. Fantastic. Actually Basshunter came out with an English version of BA called "Now You're Gone" but it's not as good.

okay i'm running out of things that aren't movies, music, tv, hobbies, books or whatever day six was, youtube. that's right. And yes some of the above are from those categories but what else am I gonna ramble about really?

These are a few of my favorite things - Day One: Music

So, I spent my day off at the farmhouse. I got some more fun shirts from my truly amazing brother and my awesome sister-in-law. Then, ate some good ice cream cake with the family. There's my weekend.

Okay, so I was inspired by my last post - aka literal music video and Mindwalk Blvd - to post more of my favorite things. But, there are too many of them to post all at once so I figured I could span it into a week. Maybe it will help distract me from reality and the significance of the next few days.

I have a lot of favorite things, music, movies, tv, books, hobbies, etc. Tonight I'm gonna focus on music. Music is kind of a big deal to me. It's relaxing, it's fun, it's catchy, sometimes annoying aka "Do the Bookdrop", but still something I can't live without. One of my favorite quotes from college came from this girl I had one class with total.
Best Friend: You know the girl with the headphones who stares at her feet when she walks?
Girl: Oh yeah, she's so sarcastic I love her!
When someone knows who you are just by those descriptions it means something.
Anyway, I thought it was funny, but yes, headphones are constantly in my ears or my pockets because sometimes I just like to jam out, you know? Sometimes it drives people nuts but hey, that's me.

I thought my first segment should be about favorite songs. I have lots of favorite songs but only a few all-time favorite songs. I've lowered it down to five, some of them you've already heard on this blog but some will be new.

Here's my top five:
1. Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason" I'm not much for blues, but this song, it just gets to me with the rhythm and the guitar. I wish I could play like her.


2. Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody"It so sad that we didn't get to see her career go as far as it would have. I love the beat of this one and the awesome dance moves in the video, haha.


3. The Wreckers "Leave the Pieces"Here's the live version, you can find the official video/recording on youtube.
I loved Michelle Branch already, but when she joined with Jessica Harp to form the Wreckers she became a whole different kind of awesome. Her style totally changed and turned a bit more country which I think she pulls off pretty well.


4. Joshua Radin's "Only You" I'm more a fan of the acoustic version available on itunes but this one is good as well. Remake of a classic that he totally does justice.


5. "Out Tonight" from Jonathan Larson's broadway classic "Rent"

lately it's been a lot of Glee, aside from that there's
Moulin Rouge, Calamity Jane, Oklahoma, Music and Lyrics, Rent, NCIS, Hairspray, Avenue Q, Grease 1&2 Chicago, Mamma Mia (minus pierce brosnan), Rocky Horror, Sister Act, Wedding Singer, Walk the Line even Whip It had a kickass soundtrack, which was Drew's mix tape for the world.

Okay, you're probably aleady overloaded so I'm gonna crash and burn.
More favorites yet to come tomorrow. I'm thinking movies...or maybe television, I do get to watch shows online tomorrow that I missed tomorrow.

Who knew there would be a day when those words came out of my mouth?! I mean, I loved her in Iron Man, Shallow Hal and of course View From the Top but before Glee she wasn't that high on my list of awesome. Now she's quickly rising to the top. Did you see that episode of Glee? She rocked it! And called Rachel on her crap at the same time! "Rachel - you suck! You're a total drag!"

Immediately after watching I had to go to itunes and buy the song. I love it!

Today was amazing. Went downtown for work in the morning then back to the smaller library in the afternoon which is backwards for me but still fun. I got to stop for coffee and a cinnamon roll, they were both fabulous. We had a staff meeting this morning and talked about the wonders of google. There's actually a lot of cool stuff you can do with it and now we have permission to mess around with it, woohoo! I love my job. Worked a little at the desk and heard a coworker use "p-slip" as a verb aka "p-slipping" and we paused. (P-slip as in paper-slips that we write notes on.) Was there 'til twelve then got an actual lunch break during which I watched the Glee episode I missed.
Then went to the other library, shelved everything there was to shelve and scanned the board books and first readers. I love my coworkers so much, you have no idea. Okay, I'm a shy person. Or at least I am at first, until I get to know you. Then I talk and you know say sentences that are longer than "no sir" or "yes ma'am." But today was about perfect timing. We were scanning books and my coworker claimed that I can't be a shy person because I was in drama in high school and I direct a kids camp and I sing and I'm on youtube. And I was like "But I AM shy!" And with seriously perfect timing my boss walks up to the desk and says "Since when?!" And we all busted out laughing. Apparently I have this air of confidence around me that I'm not aware of.

After all that I met up with my grade school teacher and we went to visit a buddy who's in the hospital. He's doing a lot better than last time so that made the day so much better. Then Nic and I hit up Old Chicago and I took half my meal home with me, woohoo for lunch tomorrow! Now I'm in for the night and will probably konk out watching The Nanny. Hoping for a good day tomorrow too. We are going to see Harry Potter 7 part 1! Woohoo!
