So we went to see Hunger Games.
Again.
This time it was me, squirt and the squirrelly boy.
It was our makeshift Squirt is Awesome parade.
Cause I told her she deserved a parade of awesomeness.
Complete with fireworks.
Cause she got asked to play with the high school girls this summer for volleyball.
And she's just an awesome person like that.
So she jammed with us tonight for dinner and a movie.
Noodles for supper, pasta is my downfall, then Hunger Games at the theater.
I liked it better this time, I'm improving my Scale of Awesome rating from 7/10 to 8/10.
I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.
Though I'm still holding off reading the other books, I want to see if watching the movie first will make them better.
Plus it ended all happy, I don't want it to get all depressing which apparently it does.
So I get to grocery shop on the clock tomorrow.
How cool is my job, seriously?
But it's for Summer Reading stuff.
We're making edible campfires and we're pre-assembling them into bags at the next meeting. Which happens to be next week.
So I get to buy pretzels and red hots and licorice and all that, plus 200 juice boxes. No real clue as to the kind or flavor, the only condition is that it's cheap and if it spills - and it will - it won't stain.
And I'm back to fact or crap reference info.
I'm hooked, I find it amusing.
- Every day 7% of the US eats at McDonalds
- On average more people fear spiders than they do death.
- Blood of mammals is red, insects are yellow and lobster is blue.
- An albatross can sleep while it flies.
- Sounds at the right vibration can bore holes through a solid object.
- Although the pony express was one of the most famous chapters in history it only lasted one year, from 1860-1861.
- The word "housekeeping" was invented by Shakespeare.
And that's all I got for the day.
More of the same tomorrow.
I'm attempting to watch some movie with Carla Gugino and David Boreanez. It's a basketball one, The Mighty Macs or something I think. It's alright, I was hoping to feel more uplifted or inspired or something since it's a basketball movie based on a true story. Maybe I haven't gotten that far into it yet.
Though I'll be konked out in a few minutes anyway.
So looking forward to Dark Shadows. And am intrigued that Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman come out basically at the same time.
"Start Wearing Purple" Gogol Bordello
cause i told squirt i would post it. for some weird reason it got deleted from my ipod, will have to go through and re-add it.
i actually got to talked Warped 05 twice today.
I really need to upload those pictures. Or maybe I have already to Facebook. Though I doubt it. But maybe I have. Add that on my to-check-list, similar to a to-do-list but this is double checking things you've done before you forget about them entirely.
You should see them live, they're so fantastic jumping on drums and all that.
"My Favorite Mistake" Sheryl Crow and Eric Clapton
interesting matchup, even more interesting haircut. not sure what's going on with that.
this and uncle kracker's "follow me" are the oldest songs i can remember being my favorites.
well, not like classic old songs, but growing up-wise, when i think back these are the first songs i said were my favorite when the concept of having a favorite song was thought out.
if that makes sense.
if not ignore it, i'm falling asleep as we sleep.
OUT!
Alright, off to bed. Have a good one.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

Wake me up before you go-go
It was a day for reunions.
A few old friends came to the farmhouse today - my new years crew - and we played a lot of Dance Dance Revolution, watched some Hot In Cleveland, ate some good food, and laughed about old times. It was fun seeing them again.
But now I either really suck at DDR or I need new mats.
I'm gonna go with the second one.
Cause it wasn't a pretty sight.
And even though there was a lot of old things I also learned some new things today as well such as:
-You CAN play Simpson's Road Rage with a DDR mat, I just don't recommend it. It's a little hard to steer when you have to keep your foot on the X button while trying to go left and right with the arrows. See, these are the friends that have literally known me forever so they're used to my forgetfulness. Totally forgot the regular controllers which does't matter for DDR but it does make other games a heck of a lot easier.
-There are a serious amount of episodes on one disc of Hot In Cleveland. I thought there would be like 4 there's actually like 10. Which I should know because it's mine.
-There's a show called "Big Shrimping" on the History Channel cause my dad made me watch before I could leave. It's a lot like Swamp People but it's with shrimp instead of alligators. Not as cool. But I also watched an entire season of Red Green with him this weekend and enjoyed it so not all of his shows are bad.
-Also, NCIS LA isn't so bad. I didn't like it as much as the original so I stopped watching but Deeks is fantastic, I like him so I might start that up again. Just what I need, another show in my lineup. My DVR is full as it is now!
-Carter will jump a barricade to be in the room that I am in. Cause he loves me and he's cute. But he chews on trees and would go all Catzilla! on the snow village so he gets sectioned off when he's upstairs. So he jumped the table blocking the door. He's a mama's boy. And spoiled rotten, though he stayed at the farm cause I'm just going back next weekend.
It was an awesome vacation, a little sad it's over but Christmas is still not past for our family as we're not having ours until the 1st. Huzzah!
And now for some reunion music.
In honor of my Warped friends, yes these are the Denver Warped Tour friends mentioned in multiple posts but mostly here: My Life in Closed Captions: New Shoes, the Cheese Speech, Warped Tour and MXPX... I give you some Gogol Bordello. Cause this song never gets old. We saw them live at Warped and it was so different from every other act, they really are gypsy punks. I really need to upload the pictures. Will work on that over New Years.
"Start Wearing Purple" Gogol Bordello
and now for my other reunion, amusing when you're planning to meet for half an hour and end up talking for 3 hours. this may actually work.

Rockin' the Bowtie
Another fun band name.
So, today was fun. 9-12 almost turned into a 9-6, which would have been fine, but I actually had plans - as opposed to pretty much any other day when I could have stayed. Anyway, I got to see my friends from back home! Which was exciting since none of us actually still live back there! Anyway, one is still in state like me but the other is in Chicago so I went over to their place for dinner - they're sisters. We grew up together, riding the bus together since kindergarten. But dinner was fun. We're kind of family, just because we've known each other for so long, so we got to catch up, drink wine, eat too much good food - pie included. Now I'm exhausted and I have to do it all again tomorrow with my own family! I mean get, I get to do it all again tomorrow with my own family. Joking. I love my family. And it will be fun. Especially with the amount of candy those kids are gonna get. My siblings are going to hate me for that. Although, technically, I didn't buy it. I just crammed it into the eggs. I mean, I helped the Easter bunny cram it into the eggs. Yeah. Let's go with that.
So, in honor of my friends I'll post some fun music from Warped - yeah, they are the Warped in Denver friends - we saw MCR, Simple Plan, Billy Idol, Sarcasm (hot drummer), Hawthorne Heights, MXPX! and many others. It was fun.
Up first, so funny, is Gogol Bordello. I remember hearing this song for the first time. We were driving out there and I had this Warped '05 CD that like previewed some of the music they were gonna play and our jaws just like dropped. WHAT?!
"Start Wearing Purple" - Gogol Bordello
These guys were actually pretty good live. I was impressed. Kilts and all. It was just kind of a funny thing, we were blasting rock music and this gypsy punk comes out of nowhere. Yes. Gypsy punk. It's real. And it's awesome.
"Sing" - My Chemical Romance
I am jealous of their sweet laser guns.
Tomorrow means church then family then food then candy then hopefully a nap. Cause I'm going to need it.
"All your sanity and wits they will all vanish. I promise." That's a good tagline.
