No.
I don't have the flu.
This headache, exhaustion, and feel of utter despair are only allowed to be temporary.
I have graduation this weekend, I'm not allowed to be sick.
It's all mental, right?
Either way it's 10:30 and I'm going to bed.
It's not that I don't love you all, and want to amuse you with my ramblings, but I literally feel like crap and it's hazing my memory from today.
I remember....work.
I was there.
And then I wasn't.
And then I was on the phone with Sketch for a while.
And then I wasn't.
Then I watched The Voice.
My top pick made it to the final, huzzah Tessanne. First time since season three when my top pick won it all - go Cassadee. She made a guest appearance tonight and rocked it.
That's all I remember, aside from cheering that Will joined her. And Jacquie, Jacquie's good too. But I was stoked for Will, but sad for James.
That's all I remember.
No, there was drunken dancing Marcia Gay-Harden.
Which means I watched Trophy Wife after the Voice.
I don't remember. It's all a blur. I fell asleep. But then I was awake. I don't know, I took cough medicine. Now I'm going to bed. Will see how I'm feeling tomorrow.
Song of the Day:
what's a partridge?
maybe another one for my "12 days of xmas music that doesn't suck" list.
hm.
out.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

Take me to the church on Cumberland Road.
Okay, I'm lame.
It's 10:30 and I'm ready for bed.
I don't know what's going on but yesterday and today I've just been dead tired.
It may have something to do with the fact that half of my family is sick and we had a farm meeting Thursday night.
Yes, a farm meeting.
It's really more like dinner and we talk about farm stuff. Well, my brother talks about farm stuff with his fancy maps and statistics while the rest of us nod every few minutes.
Joking, the guys talk a lot too.
Oh, I'm a farm girl if you didn't know that already. And we own land so every few months we meet and talk about farm stuff.
Anyway, ever since I've had no energy whatsoever, but you can't call in sick on a weekend cause we're already short staffed.
And speaking of being short staffed I actually got to spend the day covering at the home branch - where I ran into Sensei.
We were surprisingly busy, though it was an away game so I guess that's not completely surprising.
After work I had enough energy to get groceries, take out the trash, and attempt to make brownies without burning down the apartment before I crashed and burned.
It wasn't the same without Sketch here to criticize-I mean supervise...me.
But they did turn out okay.
Now I'm crashed on the couch, but there are football games galore so it's not really all that bad.
So excited the Huskers won. Was not expecting that whatsoever.
I think that's going to be my mindstate for the rest of the season. Just assume we'll lose and hope I'm wrong.
Now it's Dame vs. Pitt. Go Irish.
Intentional grounding, sad day.
Flipping back and forth between that and the Bama game.
They hosed my Tigers.
I forgot how much I love watching college football.
I used to watch pro too - Titans mostly - but it's not the same.
All about the money instead of the game.
As mentioned, I'm boring tonight, I'm sorry.
Think I'm going to crash before I go off on another tangent.
Hope you're feeling better than I am.
Church on Cumberland Road - Shenandoah
classic country. got my car back but i'm missing the xm radio that my mom's had.
speaking of churches, so at said farm meeting bunch of my family is there and one of my younger nieces comes up to me and says, "are you married yet?" "no." "well, when are you gonna ask him?" #girlpower
If that question was my job it would have happened a while ago.
but...not like i'm going anywhere. it'll happen eventually.
i'm out. legitimate pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use.

stabilized, motorized, insecure or fableized, curious or furious, picked apart like prometheus, legalized, penalized, don't you cry, dry out your eyes
So today was suckish.
Morning started out bad.
Afternoon I felt like I was gonna fall over.
Just nauseous and tired. And was burning up earlier. And my coworkers felt weird today too so I'm interested to see how we feel tomorrow.
Tonight I had absolutely no motivation to do anything of substance whatsoever cause I still feel like I'm gonna fall over.
But the difference between falling over at work and falling over here is that here I have a nice couch to fall upon.
And then just not get up from until I have to let the pizza delivery dude in.
I have no food in my fridge.
And I'm slightly obsessed with these spinach and feta breadsticks, they're fantastic.
Which is saying something because I am the breadstick queen, ask Sketch.
I'll order the pizza but I won't eat it. It's all about the breadsticks.
Plus, for some reason, I'll be starving and then when it gets here I'm not hungry for it at all.
I don't know, I'm weird like that.
So I really don't have a lot to say about today other than it drug on and I'm glad tomorrow is back to a halfday and more practicum work. We'll be on to the men's library, probably for a couple of days, they have about double the material and space than the women's.
I should take before and after shots. I just took after ones for the women's.
Carter is mad at me.
I kicked him off my stomach so I could sit up and post this. He was so happily sleeping on me as we finished Elementary season one.
I'd like to say that I predicted that ending, but I really didn't.
I do like this version's twists and turns, however I also enjoy Benedict Cumberbatch's version of the series as well.
It's hard to choose between the two cause I really like both of the Watson's.
Though I do find it amusing that Sherlock Holmes has been around for decades and it's like all of the sudden he's all over the place media-wise.
You've got Sherlock on BBC, you've got Elementary on CBS, you've got the Robert Downey Jr. movies, and there's also a web based series called No Place Like Holmes in which they are frozen in time and emerge in 2010. Along with many other standalone projects.
I'm wondering what the next big thing will be...
Oooh, they should make a series about Miss Marple. But like younger. That'd be cool.
Alright, those are all my sane-sounding-thoughts and some of my not-so-sane-sounding-ones at the moment.
Feel as if I'm gonna pass out so perhaps if I continue to lay on the couch and it happens I can call it sleep.
Sadly, it wouldn't be the first time.
Not even on this couch.
Music.
How Am I To Be - Watson Twins
hard to talk about two Watson's and not jump to The Watson Twins. unless you're not an indie fan like i am.
in which case you're severely missing out.
i really like when they collaborate with Jenny Lewis.
here's one of my favorites. the other favorite i've already posted here and here.
Fernando
awesome dance moves.

I close my eyes and fly out of my mind, Into the fire
Felt like I was gonna pass out today at work.
I seriously thought it was appendicitis for a while cause I was burning up and every time I stood up I wanted to fall over.
Which killed the whole standing thing.
But of all the days to be in physical pain it happened to be the least busy of them all.
So that made it bearable I guess.
Think I had like 10 stats total, which is really bad since I was there all day.
Though technically the first hour I was guarding the music CD's - oh yeah, there's a guard desk now and it's only gonna get worse from there if the rumors are true - then I was at the front desk for a hour which is when I got all of my stats before leaving for lunch and then a meeting and then checking in 8 carts in the backroom in an hour leading into the final hour where we had like 10 people in the building total.
Ribfest, ugh.
I did get to see my adopted little sister though so the day wasn't a total waste.
And the meeting was good.
Our Youth Services crew is always amusing.
When talking about collection we told our commander in chief - aka Cabin Fever - to "buy the interesting ones and skip the boring stuff."
We're so specific.
And helpful like that.
But that's okay, she wouldn't be the commander in chief if she didn't know what she was doing.
So that was work.
After work I did some more laundry and attempted a Twin Peaks marathon.
I made it through one episode and went....that's messed up.
So no more of that.
Which is so WEIRD cause I'm usually all over those cult shows.
Cult show as in underrated, not as in, you know, like a show about cults.
Cause those are bad.
Cults, not shows about cults.
Though I'm guessing due to the subject matter those shows are also bad.
But possibly interesting.
If you followed that you're a genius.
I lost myself.
New topic.
Anyway, so to drown out all that weirdness I turned on some Wipeout - cause that doesn't have "weird" written all over it - and played some Lords of the Realm 2 - also doesn't scream "weird" even when played by a girl in 2013 sitting next to a cat shaved like a lion.
That's right, it's back!
Or it should be!
But I have a feeling if they tried to revamp it it'd turn out like the new You Don't Know Jack game.
Not as good as the original.
Yay 90's.
Don't like the new host.
Not the same.
Kills the whole game.
Anyway, I'm a nerd.
But you knew that, it's part of the reason you're here.
So nerdy in fact that the nights I don't spend with my boyfriend I spend with my cat playing video games, watching TV, editing or doing homework.
Cause other than that I really have no life.
Which is fine by me, actually I kind of prefer it that way.
Though this weekend has a lot going on. Golf tournament on Saturday followed by a softball tournament on Sunday.
That's right, 2G's at it again!! but this time we're on a new course. Hope their drink cart lady follows us around too.
Our drinking team has a golfing problem.
Cause we suck, but when there is liquor we don't notice we suck, we just get louder. And then everyone wants to join our team.
No, Pastor's pretty good, as is Homey G-Wigger now that she's got her Packer clubs.
But we really don't care about winning, our only goal is to beat Hillman and his team of ringers.
Although apparently Juwanna - aka the high school roommate - is playing this year so a new challenge.
It's on.
And that's all I got.
Must put laptop down so I can pack for massive weekend.
On to the music:
Throwback Thursday
Song You Know But Forgot You Knew It

yay 90's.

"Did the president call?" "No."
Well it's official, over 50,000 hits in under 3 years.
Geez.
Didn't think it would get this big.
I should be ecstatic, or creeped out really, but all I am is tired.
Like seriously zonked.
Which is weird cause work was fine, but then I came home and got all stressed so I got all nauseous and just blah.
So what could have been a good day turned into a crapsuck.
But it's fine cause it's over.
The day I mean.
Or it will be in 18 minutes.
Then it will be tomorrow.
I know, this post is complete crap and you're wondering how I got so many views.
The answer is, I have no idea.
Every once in a while I'm clever, but for the most part I'm just random.
Like today.
Today started out great.
Met with the Library Goddess for coffee. She paid. Cause she loves me.
We put together our last newsletter - sad day - and sent that off to be published. Later got an email from her confirming my practicum - so I do get to do it in the fall at the Regional Center. Woohoo!
See, sane people would be more fearful than excited to do a 90 hour practicum there surrounded by legitimate crazy people, but I'm stoked.
So that was coffee.
Afterward I still had time before work so I started reading Silver Linings Playbook - which I bought last week with the Queen of the Known Universe.
The book book that was published in 2008, so long before the movie. Even though the movie is awesome. Which is why I'm reading the book in the first place.
Anyway, basically the book in made up of Pat's narratives on daily life and the road to getting Nikki back. So far it's awesome, I'm loving it.
A bit different from the movie, mostly with the Dad being a lot more anti-social than Robert De Niro was.
Read it before work and then during breaks so on page like 45 I think. Was going to read more tonight but then got distracted by Veep.
Season one from the library.
Love that as well.
It has the chick from My Girl in it, you know that plays Vada? All grown up, I had to look her up, it was driving me nuts trying to figure out what I knew her from.
Favorite quotes so far:
Dan: "She's mediocre really. Of all the 'ocres' she's the mediest."
Selina: "He's not supposed to register emotion. He's supposed to be like a robot geisha."
Amy: "I'll see to it."
Selina: "Did the president call?"
Sue: "No."
That last one takes place in every episode. A lot of unknowns in the cast, aside from Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the lead. She plays the Veep. Most of the show is about someone in her office screwing up, usually she says something that gets misinterpreted or her staff does something stupid, and then it's all about damage control.
But it's hysterical. They're on season two now but I don't have HBO so will probably be waiting for that one to come out on DVD as well. Not sure if you can watch those online, but I will look.
The DVD's are amusing though because all the episodes have commentary which is surprising. What's not surprising is that the one that talks most on the commentary is the dude that plays Jonah. Whom I didn't like originally, but now I do.
I love cast commentaries, though I think She's the Man is my favorite as it also has the whole cast and they're all hysterical. My least favorite being The Sweetest Thing. There's a helium machine in the room and it's just dumb.
Anyway, Veep. I'm liking it. It's highly entertaining. And it's been my distraction tonight. Though I think I should crash soon so I may change it over to X Games or something I've already watched so I'm not tempted to stay up.
Alright, and after all that boringness - sorry - I'll hit you with some music and then crash.
More audition highlights. Working on my top ten, auditions end next week.
Price Tag - Audrey Karrasch
i hate this song. but she's great.

Safe & Sound - Savannah Berry
"you're soo good."
"you're soo screwed."

"it's a very adoptable age."
Geez.

Remember, romantic comedies are like cellulite cures, every one of them is a lie.
Three guesses as to what I'm watching, but it's back for the season and still highly entertaining.
So, I pounded out the 9 hours as planned, even survived some grocery shopping afterward.
But I was on strict orders from BossLady about getting orange juice and other nutrients that aren't included in popsicles and flavored water. Cause apparently you can't live on flavored water and frozen flavored water.
Though now all I can think of is, "you ventured out into the jungle for the creamy goodness of peanut butter and came back with the wrong colored apple and flavored frozen water?!"
Ah, good times.
But the 9 hours weren't so bad with the whole "fake it 'til you make it" motto. Except apparently I wasn't so good at the faking part today cause every time the BossLady would catch me dragging my feet she'd tell me to go home. But I'm stubborn and it's all mental so I stayed.
Even after the other supervisor told me I looked like crap.
Well, she didn't put it that way but it was implied.
So much love.
They're all like mothers seriously, except for the Library Judge. He was the only male on staff today and the only one who didn't tell me to go home.
I didn't think I was that bad.
But now I have the weekend off to sleep and actually spend time with my boyfriend which has been really not happening lately as he was sick and then he was sick again and then I was sick. Just blah.
Anyway, no work AND NO CLASS leaves me time to actually do something. Aside from sleep. I did finish the last major assignment in one of my classes. Only one thing left - plus some discussion boards - but really I should have written this paper like a week ago cause I've already done the interview, it's just transcripting it really.
Is that a word? Transcripting? Or is it transcribed? Transcribing? Is that a word? Am I really that out of it that my English Majorism is gone for the night already?
Blah.
Whatever, anyway, I want to get some Xmas shopping done at some point - speaking of I actually thought of some exciting stuff other than luggage, vacuum, bookshelves and, ah crap, what was the fourth boring thing?
Anyway, sent a couple of book titles to the Favorite Sister In Law and of course Charlie's Angels season five is out now on DVD - woohoo! Except it's in a box set and I have the first four and you can't buy it by itself so it'll have to be off Amazon.
Other than that Burn Notice season five is debatable.
I think I need a break from Michael Weston. This whole sickness has me watching far too much of it. Like it was on in the background whilst writing the paper I just submitted - cause I can't work when it's quiet - on tuned to the episode that I've fallen asleep watching like 5 times within the last week.
Though kind of ineffective since I had my headphones in anyway.
I'm not productive without those, it's pathetic really.
Yes, I know, Millennial generation, and yet you're still reading this.
Where was I? Oh right, Christmas shopping at some point, plus I wanna swing by Grams' place to take a look before everything gets painted and all that. Though I guess I can't call it Gram's place anymore. We joked about coming up with a name for the property. I think now they're calling it the Cottonwood Estate or something cheesy. We can do better than that.
Oh yeah, in case you weren't aware, my sister and her husband bought Grams' house after she moved out and into a home. I lived there for a summer with her before I had to go back for college. But they're big into renovation and all that so it should be interesting.
Similar to how my brother bought my other grandparent's house and revamped it.
Alright, enough rambling. Gonna get back to Hot In Cleveland and crash so I can enjoy the sleeping in factor.
As it is already 3AM and I want to have time to do stuff tomorrow that needs to start immediately.
Clip of the night:
"don't just stand there joy, come on!"
Blah.

Bazinga.
The countdown continues.
Now I got the gross cough and the weird feeling in the back of my throat.
Which means if I wake up tomorrow with a fever and the weird taste in my mouth then it's official.
Which sucks cause I got a lot of stuff to do this week.
I don't know what happened.
Last year I got a letter from the Mayor cause of perfect attendance.
This year this is gotta be like the 5th time at least. Ridiculous.
But last year it was weird cause I did get sick, it was just always on my days off.
Oh well, today was nice. Got to sleep in cause I didn't have to go in until 4, but then of course woke up in the morning like every hour cause my cat got restless and decided he wanted to be up and if he had to be up then I had to be up.
Knocking stuff over, meowing constantly, jumping up on my stomach and walking all over the couch just to jump off and jump back on.
But see, he's very territorial. And thinks that this is his apartment and I just stay here. So the fact that I was taking up his couch during his alone time in his apartment totally threw him off.
Now he is blissfully sleeping next to me so apparently I'm forgiven.
Though if I get sick tomorrow and have to stay home I'll be having none of that no sleeping thing.
We'll see.
So The Voice was great. Cassadee seems to be the frontrunner - well, along with Amanda Brown. Though for a while there I really thought Trevin could pull it off. And BRYAN WENT HOME!?! I was totally sad.
Here's what my top 20 looks like at the moment, though tomorrow there will be more eliminations.
Brandon Mahone – eliminated after first battle
So basically I'm all about Cassadee, Trevin and Melanie.
But they have this new rule that anybody can be eliminated no matter the team. Which at first I didn't like cause I thought it would suck for a coach if none of their singers made it to the final, but now I kind of like because it's like the really great singers aren't limited because they're on a certain team. Now it's just who's best, not who's best on each team.
So right now Adam's down to two - Melanie and Amanda. I would be fine with Amanda winning at this point, I really love the comeback underdog story.
Blake's got my favorite Cassadee and also Terry the Scot-rocker and he's also fantastic. Like uber fantastic.
Cee-Lo's got three left, Trevin of course and then there's the surprise Nicholas who's like this awesome rugged classic artist and Cody who's anything but classic - just so out there and crazy and fabulous. He's got a lot of attitude - he was the last one picked and he didn't think anyone turned around for him so when he realized Cee-Lo did he totally went crazy.
And then poor Xtina is down to just one artist - Dez who's a real crooner.
Though you kind of saw that coming, I mean she did have great artists it's just that they were all pop singers really and you've gotta have some variety cause not everyone likes pop. You know? Not that I don't like it, I'm just saying with Cee-Lo's team you've got a whole group of characters which I think gives him the edge. Plus he's got 3 people left so even if 2 are eliminated tomorrow when they go down to the top 6 then he's still in it.
Anyway, I should stop rambling and crash before you get bored of me.
Not that you haven't already.
You gotta watch this, totally hilarious.
Flash mob on the set of Big Bang Theory
ps - during a pitch game like 2 years ago the Cool Aunt meant to yell out "bazinga!" but all she could think of was "pizazz!" it was hysterical and stuck so there will be much yelling of that in a few weeks at the annual pitch party.
so funny to hear jim parsons commenting on his life size cutout on leno cause if you've seen the pictures of NLA on facebook....

we had spaghetti at our house three times this week.
Name that musical.
So I declined to post last night cause I felt like crap.
And anything I could have rambled about would have been endless and pointless.
Which I guess on here is a daily occurrence, but I couldn't muster up the energy to open up my laptop.
This was after 9 hours of work and stopping by Oldest Sister's house to show off my foosball skills, lose in some sort of war game on PS3 and then almost fall asleep on their couch until they came back.
Here's the deal, Squirt had the flu pre-Vegas. Oldest Sister got the flu after returning from Vegas. Then my brother got it. Then my boyfriend got it.
Then he got over it and now he got it again.
So my days are numbered.
And the fact that I'm exhausted and sore is an impending sign of doom.
But I'm waiting for that unmistakable bad taste in my mouth and fever to keep me from going to work.
Cause I have stuff I need to do there - too many new volunteers and TAB stuff coming up to skip and spend the day on the couch wallowing in my own misery.
I'm like Cristina like that, sorry.
But like I said, the countdown has begun. It's not a matter of if I get sick, it's more like when so I'm trying to get as much done before then as possible.
aka homework, work work, life stuff.
Only like 3 big assignments left.
IT Scholarly Paper due Friday on Koha - and summary due next Friday.
Outreach Plan due Sunday.
Reference Interview due next Saturday.
I've got the first paper laid out from previous drafts and I've already done the interview just gotta write the paper.
But I've got time. Just gotta keep up with the discussion boards along the way.
Anyway, so yesterday was alright, today was alright. Worked the weekend it was pretty slow but pretty fast at times we were closed both Thursday and Friday.
No real highlights just trying to keep my head above water.
Don't go in tomorrow until 4 so I'm headed to bed now.
OH! I uploaded my Vegas and Worlds of Fun and some NLA pictures to Facebook.
And that's all I got.
Have a good one.
Sandy!
yeah, guess which one number one in my top ten?
"and he's awesome!"

"Would you think I was pushy if I asked why you were shooting at me?"
Pretty coherent for someone running on only three hours of sleep.
Made a lot of progress on the booklist and summer reading stuff during the day. Plus I finished one of those repurposing crafts for the TAB kids as an example and I'm not crafty at all so that was interesting.
Though I did make myself sick twice tonight cause I'm freaking out, which means I should probably go to bed immediately.
You know when you feel something so strongly that it actually makes you want to fight for it? And the thought of it not working literally makes you sick?
That's where I'm at right now.
So, as a way of distraction I fell back to my usual as of late, Charlie's Angels. On the last disc of season one and I'm excited cause it has one of my favorite episodes, aka "Angels at Sea".
Though I like it primarily because it has some of my favorite quotes,
Sabrina: "I love you, I'll prove it, You won't like it, I don't care."
Yes some of my favorites, meaning there are more than one, meaning I probably do watch it too often.
Jill: "My guess is he's the murderer. How else would he know that Charlie called us 'Angels'?"
Sabrina: "Well it just could have been a coincidence. He was trying to come on to all three of us and needed a collective noun. Or is 'Angels' a pronoun?"
Kelly: "Any time I'm stuck I call everything an adverbial phrase. Yep it's an adverbial phrase."
Bosley: "Look first, 'Angels' is a noun, and second..."
But it's classic!
Kelly: "You move it Turkey, we were here first!" Apparently she was the jive-talking angel. But that's season two. The circus episode. Like the fourth one into the season but the first one filmed. You can tell by the tension between the actors, it was Cheryl Ladd's first episode filmed to replace Farrah Fawcett. For some reason they filmed that and then the second season premiere episode.
Okay. I'm crazy. And I need to go to bed.
Falling back on another comfort classic.
She & Him, let's go for some remakes.
"Dream a Little Dream of Me"
"I Put a Spell on You"

"Why don't you fly down to the maternity ward and scare some children?!"
To Dodge and back twice in two days.
Not my favorite place, but I'll bear with it for my family.
Though yesterday's was mostly by mistake, long story.
Today was interesting.
Squirt is an accomplished volleyball player and today her team won the championship.
Though it wasn't her regular team, it was like a combination of the best players from random teams put together to dominate and they succeeded.
And keep in mind, she's 14 and was asked to play in a 17-year-old tournament.
Just saying.
I'm proud.
After that we hit up Dragon Palace for some Chinese buffet and "suspicious" egg-drop soup that they said was more like pudding. That's what made it suspicious.
And now I'm home, exhausted and lying on the couch.
I'm starting to agree with Girlscout's theory of mono instead of strep.
Which is crap cause I've already had it once.
Shouldn't I be immune to it by now?
Will have to talk to the Second Sister about that as she's the doctor in the family.
All I know is I'm still exhausted, and I shouldn't still be exhausted cause it's been like weeks.
At work I can fake being fine, but here I just crash.
So, I'm going to bed.
Yes, I'm aware it's like 8:30.
And that makes me completely lame, but I can't miss anymore work. I have a lot of stuff to do this week. Mostly Summer Reading-related, plus Mentor comes back this week and I have a lot of dumb questions that she'll have the smart answers to.
You know, actually, Farrah Fawcett and Cheryl Ladd look/act semi-similar. I could see them as sisters. So the show is semi-believable. Right?
I mean, aside from the fact that it's not whatsoever.
I lost count on the exploding cars tally, there are too many of them to keep track of.
Though the random banter and fake stunts is still highly entertaining.
Especially in this episode, Bosley is in the hospital with a roommate who might be the criminal they're after and their nurse is kind of a take-no-prisoners kind of lady.
Bosley: "Are you suggesting that I expose my posterior to a total stranger?"
Nurse: "Well, once you've done it we won't be total strangers, will we?"
Bosley: "Madam, you are a sadist."
One of the best shows in history, you can hate it but its legacy lives on!
Off to bed for me.
Here's some music for you.
"Who Are You?" The Who
oh my god, i love this video. super retro, and keith dancing whilest playing drums makes me laugh. i enjoy his monogrammed shirt and the tape on his headphones.
Nurse: "You know if I was around you much more I would give you poison."
Bosley: "If you were around oftener HE'D TAKE IT!"

You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
It's weird, I've spent more days at my apartment this week than I've spent at work.
This whole sick thing sucks.
But I'm going in tomorrow no matter what.
I've got good drugs - I'm actually about 90% better which is substantially more than the 60% I was feeling the day I attempted to go but went home mid-day.
So, today.
Got half my homework done. Did all the reading and paper to go with it, now all I have left is the presentation. Which I've started.
Sort of.
I mean, I found some of the information.
Now I just have to input it into a powerpoint and figure out what I'm gonna say.
It's seriously like a 5 minute thing max so I'm not too freaked.
I've got time tomorrow night to finish it, at the moment I can't really take anymore cataloging jargon and codes.
Aside from being semi-productive I actually got around to watching Moneyball.
It was fantastic!
Usually I'm not a big fan of movies that Jonah Hill is in.
It's nothing against him, I think he's a great actor, I just am not a fan of his movies.
Does that make sense?
I dunno, Knocked Up, Grandma's Boy, all that crap, not really my thing. Sorry.
Though I did like Accepted. "I don't want to be here alone when the walls start to bleed!"
But in this one, when he was a serious actor, that was impressive.
And Brad Pitt is always a pretty method actor so I thought it was fantastic.
I'm a baseball fan, though not of the A's so I didn't know much about the storyline. It's actually pretty cool.
Basically Brad Pitt's character is the General Manager of the Oakland A's - this was like the 2002 season - and they had lost three of their greatest players. So, he's working on recruiting new people with his team of scouts and basically comes across Jonah Hill's character in the process of talking to other team's coaches about trading people.
Jonah's character is Peter Brand and he's more of a statistics person. He follows this math-based approach of recruiting so Brad basically hires him as his assistant and they start recruiting all these people that got overlooked by other scouts because of the way they throw or run or whatever.
I won't give away the rest of the storyline but it was actually really interesting and accurate, apparently. They didn't throw in a mass amount of comedy or drama to change the real life story.
Scale of Awesome says 8/10. Not something that I'd want to watch over and over and over, but it was really interesting and I had to watch it all the way through.
Yeah, not a lot of other things to do when you're sick other than watch TV and sleep.
So, at some point during this week I've watched that, Real Steel and The Debt.
Real Steel was good, I was looking forward to seeing it since I first saw the preview like a year ago. Jackman was a boxer, but in the future people want to watch robots fight instead because it is more intense so he has this robot, and of course because you have to add in drama he owes a lot of money to people. After his girlfriend dies he has to take custody of their son and he's awful, doesn't know anything about parenting. But the kid likes robots so they bond and all that.
It was alright, not as good as I thought it would be, I'd give it about a 7/10.
And then The Debt. Anything with Helen Mirren is worth watching, even Arthur had its moments. The storyline jumps back and forth between the present and the past when she was a part of a 3 man team to capture a really bad guy and take him back to their country to be tried. After this mission they became these legendary agents and her daughter writes a book about the experience but it's false cause what they say happened isn't really how it went down. Now they have to fix it, etc.
It was interesting, but again not something I will watch over and over. Another 7/10 cause it was interesting and mysterious.

"Astronaut" Priscilla Ahn
love her, even sings backup to joshua radin on my favorite song, but this song gives me pause. it's like someone told her to write a song about astronauts, birds, elephants and fish. and make is similar to sixpence's kiss me.
no idea why, but it reminds me of this one.
"Kiss Me" Sixpense None the Richer
classic.
Alright, I'm off to bed. Gotta make it all the way through tomorrow and then class Sunday.

Say it ain't so, I will not go.
Turn the lights off, carry me home.
Exhausted and feeling like crap so I'll keep this short.
Finally saw "This Means War" - Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon and Chelsea Handler.
Slim Shady and I hit up the matinee, it was hilarious. Chris and Tom were great as allies and enemies, plus Reese is always funny, then you throw in Chelsea Handler...have you seen Chelsea Lately or read any of her books? She's hysterical!
"I think I'm going to hell."
"Don't worry, if you're going to hell I'll just come pick you up. Save me a drink."
Great addition to the cast, loved it! Might even have to check out her new show, I do enjoy Laura Prepon.
This Means War: the storyline was intriguing, there wasn't a down moment where I was checking my watch, there was a lot of great action sequences and comedic moments...
Survey says 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome. Will definitely want to see it again or at least buy it when it comes out.
I caved and bought "Tower Heist", the DVD comes with alternate endings so I'm intrigued about those. That movie was pretty funny and under-rated. "He was allergic to chocolate so I had to beat him." I left the movie crying cause I was laughing so hard at that line.
Duuuude. The Voice...rocks. Sad I missed the first season and totally curious as to what comes next after the blind auditions...and if it will be as good as the blind auditions, that's really unique.
Anybody watch Castle tonight? Apparently I totally missed last week's end to the two-part but it's on my DVR so I'll catch it.
Tonight's was uber-creepy with a fairy-tale twist. Had me flashing back to Women's Murder Club when they turned Kiss-Me-Not into Prince Charming...but then the creators left (or get kicked out that's debatable) taking the storyline with them and we ended up with Billy the serial killer, total let down. But it's okay. It was fixed. Show wasn't the same without the original creators and pretty sure that's why it ended.
Sorry. Ramble-nation over.
Anyway, Oldest Sister called the ending of Castle mid-way through the episode and I kept thinking "Reaper! Reaper! Reaper!" Which, if you've seen Criminal Minds you'll understand, and if you haven't...then you're missing out on some seriously good TV cause the Reaper episodes of CM were possibly the best, especially episode #100. Sad day.
So that was my day. A movie, some TV, and 2 hours of work in between. Yeah, I showed up at 4 and ended up writing an incident report before 4:30, it's never boring at the library.
Other than that...Squirt helped me pull some books for a new YA display, we're going simple and pulling books with green covers for March - thanks Fearless Leader - now I just gotta finish the sign, print it, and change some statuses.
Song of the night:
"All The Small Things" Blink 182 - Charlie's Angels style
"the chad...is stuck."
jammed to it on my ipod earlier today.
but everytime I hear it I visualize this...cause I've seen the movie that many times. actually, i've probably seen this more times than i've heard the regular song on the radio. i know, i'm a fan, get over it.
I was going to post the alumni vs. called worker/grade school tournament pictures on Facebook but I don't think I can make it.
I feel like crap. If you haven't noticed already. I'm freezing, shaking, coughing, sneezing, my nose won't stop running, my throat hurts and I'm getting a headache.
If it keeps up tomorrow I'm staying home. Which is saying something, cause usually I power through. My only problem with staying home - aside from missing work that I actually enjoy - is that tomorrow is Grams birthday, and I was planning on going there to celebrate with her and the Cool Aunt and eat some cake.
Maybe it's best if I stay home, don't want to get her sick.
This bites. Where's my fat cat? Somehow when I'm sick he knows not to bite me and just falls asleep in my lap.
I'm out, gonna take some ibuprofen before my head explodes in pain.

and my fingers are bejeweled with diamonds and gold, but that ain't gonna help me now.
Apparently 24 is not old.
That's what I was told today.
I'm aware it's not THAT old.
But for me, it's old...er...than I am now.
Or it is for the next few days at least.
And I'm starting to feel it.
Or maybe that's cause I'm still sick.
With whatever it is you want to call it.
My annual nausea-laden era.
This whole nauseous all the time thing sucks. Isn't three months enough? WHY CAN'T YOU GO AWAY?!
And don't tell me it's morning sickness.
I will kick your butt.
That's what the doctor said like 4 years ago.
And there have been no children.
So HA!
Just more nausea. Every year. Same time.
This is getting old fast.
And with it so am I.
Well, with that and grad school.
The chick got back to me today - after I called her and re-sent the e-mail from two different accounts.
She got them both.
This time.
And got back to me, so that's awesome.
What's not awesome is that now I have to write the paper, that I was so gladly putting off because she had yet to get back to me.
Now it's inevitable.
And I really need to finish it.
I started out tonight with such great intentions, really. Got all my stuff out, made supper, turned on some TV to watch while I ate.
THEN Carter fell asleep on my lap.
And you know, how can I disturb that?
So I kept watching, cause he was cute and cuddly and you know, not biting me.
Then I kept watching some more, but it was good cause now I'm finally caught up on NCIS.
Dude?! That 200th episode? I screamed on so many occasions that I'm surprised my neighbors didn't bust in! Freakin' Kate and Jenny, Fornell just made me laugh, and of course Franks, but Ari?!?! Dude. I wanted Gibbs to punch him.
I do have to question the whole Tony and Kate angle though, I thought they were more siblings and she was into Gibbs. Or that's how it seemed the first season.
I'm really curious how they filmed that as she doesn't look like Kate anymore with the blonde highlights. Medical Examiner in Boston. Or if they filmed it at all, technically that's the same outfit she wore in the plague episode. Did I mention I was a fan? Hmmm...
Then the most recent episode with the return of the elusive Wendy. I'm intrigued.
What was I saying?
Oh right, yes I wanted to be productive and I tried really hard, but then my cat fell asleep on me and it all went to crap.
Sorry.
I'll finish it tomorrow. I'm only 12-6, plus some minor errands.
Saturday is the Barnes and Noble Paperback Buy with the TAB kids, that should be interesting, but other than that I have the whole day so if it's not done by Friday night it'll be done by Saturday night. And posted by at least Sunday as that's a full-fledge day of family fun.
Or at least half-day, I still have no idea what or if we're doing anything for my birthday.
It's not a big deal as I don't really celebrate them, so I'm not gonna plan anything.
Just go with the flow, see if anyone wants to do anything on Monday. Since I have it OFF!
I love City Holidays, they rock.
Okay, songs for the night:
"Somebody to Love" Jefferson Airplane
i'm sorry, is she singing into a plug?
"Trouble" Pink
oh my god, jeremy renner in eye makeup. before he hit it big-time, that's nice.
"Big Girls Don't Cry" Franki Valli and the Four Seasons
i wonder why. especially with those moves and that unnaturally high voice.
What else before I crash and burn...
Today was good, Slim Shady took me out for lunch for my birthday. Jammed out there for a while. Was a good changeup from my usual soup and sandwich.
Worked on some Summer Reading Event stuff after that, plus I'm still working on my Hunger Games Read-Alike, if you have titles send them my way.
Though I have like 40. I'm weeding through and only keeping the good ones.
And the Spunky Old Ladies display is still rocking it on first floor. I'm quite proud of that one actually.
Alright, fading fast. Carter and I are out!
That's what I was told today.

Untitled.
Okay, so, as expected spent my day off sick and on the couch. Coughing up a storm, but getting through even more of season eight of NCIS. Right now I'm up to the flashback episode of where Gibbs and Tony first meet. It's making me crave fortune cookies.
"You can't outrun me, I'm wearing tubesocks!"
Loving the flashbacks. Wish we could learn more about Abby's past through flashbacks. She intrigues me.
Other than that it's been pretty slow today.
I did get a visit from Mom though, bringing me soup and fruit, taking the Christmas tree.
Quote of the day:
Mom: "We had a good time, went to a funeral."
Me: "That's fantastic. I'll put that in the blog."
Mom: "No!"
So, after sleeping pretty much all day and watching more NCIS I ate some icecream, well rainbow sherbet. Good stuff.
Then chicken noodle soup.
Now Reese's.
I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll be 100 percent. Or at least 70.
Anything less is gonna make 9-6 interesting.
Alright. I'm off to go back to sleep. And drink some orange juice.
"Hey Ya" NCIS
love how it matches with the clips.

Lights will guide you home...
First day.
Spent it falling asleep on my feet. Literally. I mean, I was able to stay awake and conscious at work, but I totally passed out between shifts for an hour at my apartment.
Apparently, the two guys I worked with yesterday called in sick this morning.
But that's not exactly something you can do when it's your first day as a 40 hour professional.
I've only taken one sick day since I started in May of 2010. It's November of 2011.
Bring it.
It was a good first day, aside from the weakness and the wanting to crash.
And I have tomorrow off so I can rest up. I have a feeling I'll spend it on the couch. It's interesting having the whole day off from both places. I liked working at two different places for two different jobs but it was a lot to keep track of. Hopefully, this will be a little easier.
Other than working, and learning all about Kindle and its capabilities I also talked to my mom, who is coming to town tomorrow. She's always entertaining. And I can give her her new Christmas tree to take to the farm so I don't have to keep hauling it around in the back of my car.
Oh, did I mention I bought them a tree for Christmas? I think I might have in passing. Remember the Christmas Tree From Hell story? My Life in Closed Captions: A Christmas Tree Nightmare Mom says I get to throw the tree in the hole. I might even film the freaking event. It will be fantastic. And EPIC. I hate that freaking tree.
So yes, I bought them a new one. With no lights already attached. They just die off and don't work the next year anyway. This is easier. I will also buy them some new ornaments, if she wants them. It is her Christmas present. Well, hers and dad's. Who said I should get a giant 9 foot one, but since she and I are the ones to decorate the thing every year, I went with her decision on the 7 foot one instead.
And it's still in my car. So Mom can take it home tomorrow. No real point in taking it out of the car if I'm not going to put it up in my apartment.
Okay, other good things in life. Talked with Obi-Wan about camp today. Last weekend of July is set up. We'll get most of the rowdy crew back again, but with the exception of some major players who have scheduled conflicts. Gonna be interesting there.
Ummm... I'm watching the Kate's Sister episode of NCIS which totally makes me sad. Kate was my favorite. Think I still like her more than Ziva, which is saying something because Ziva seriously rocks. I'm glad that Sasha is back on TV. Rizzoli and Isles is rockin' it on TNT.
Oh! And Kat guest-starred on NCIS. As Chaplan Burke. I was impressed. And she's a redhead so maybe they'll keep her around since Gibbs has a thing for redheads. That'd be awesome. Kat as in Kat Gardener from Eastwick. aka Jaime Ray Newman. I loved Eastwick. But of course, it got cut short. Not a surprise there it did star Lindsay Price and Rebecca Romijn. Not exactly solid TV series records in their background. But I like them so I watched it. Found it quite funny. Although, the problem with it ending so quickly was that in the finale it made you believe that Darryl was a good person and not the devil like in the real Eastwick.
Speaking of redheads, I think my very favorite NCIS guest star redhead would probably be Casey Novak with a gun, Diane Neal aka Abigail Borin. Call the Coast Guard, She's fantastic. I just watched "Ships in the Night" yes, I'm watching season 8 on DVD again, get used to it. And I'm still laughing. She's on a horrible blind date on a boat - with nowhere to go - when someone gets shot and murdered and then Gibbs comes and she's still in a dress trying to work a crime scene, it's hysterical.
Gibbs: Well, somebody get something!
McGee computer beeps: Boss, I got something.
Borin: My guys never do that.
Gibbs: Get yourself some new guys.
Sorry. NCIS rocks. Maybe tomorrow night I'll serenade you with things about Bones or Criminal Minds or Castle or one of the movies I have checked out. But I'll stick with NCIS until I crash tonight.
Which is now. Cause yeah. Exhausted.
enjoy.

Cause yeah. Exhausted.
enjoy.

Watch me now, hey!
I was actually productive today, shocker! I know! I cleaned my apartment! But then after I got through with all the vacuuming I felt like I was gonna pass out so I quit and watched Big Bang Theory for a while.
Why do I always get sick when I have the day off? Fever and all. But it's gone now. I woke up with a headache which is why I went back to sleep but I didn't think much of it until I felt light-headed and all that joy. I'm fine now so tomorrow will be fine.
But, aside from cleaning and watching half a season of BBT, I also started book #11. geez, 11. And started both of the wikis for both of the books this week. So, tomorrow I think I'm gonna keep reading, not sure how much I'll get done since I think Mom will be in town. Except I'm working so I don't know if I will see her. Tuesday will be my major workday as always since I have the whole afternoon to read and write up my paper. I already went to the teen activity I just have to give the highlights version in a 2 page paper. At least I think it's 2 pages. I can ramble for a couple pages about kids duct-taping stuff. Sensei told me once that she wouldn't respect me if I couldn't ramble for at least a page. I laughed. Think I've got the rambling thing down, scroll through the blog and you'll see that plain as day.
I bought a bunch of stuff on itunes on Ziva this week and haven't had time to load it on my (yet-to-be-named) ipod 'til I had all this free time today and now the freaking John Deere Green song is stuck in my head again! It just got out of my head! I finally stopped singing it at work! Now I had to go and listen to it again! AHH! "and the whole town said the fool should've used red but it looked good to Charlene......in John Deere Green!!!" but the funniest thing about this whole thing was I wasn't really paying attention to the album covers when I bought it and now I've got this big picture of his face staring at me every time I listen to the song and, here - I'll find a pic.

maybe i'm still like sick and need sleep but i laugh every time i see that pic. awesome fashion sense there.
Okay, gotta listen to something else so it goes away.
songs for the night:
"Do You Love Me" The Contours live and lipsyncing!
Check out Dennis Edwards dancing in the background (later frontman for the Temptations) plus the ensemble isn't the same without those matching white shoes, fancy stuff man.
SIDENOTE - gonna have to get a pair of white shoes to wear around camp at night... long story short, my predecessor who used to roam the camp at night (making sure everyone went to bed) wore a black outfit and white shoes. I always asked why the white shoes and he said he had to give the kids some chance to tell he was coming. He's been doing that since as long as I can remember and I've been going since 2nd grade but he's only doing the boys side this year soo guess who gets to roam the girls side and be the mean one everyone just loves to see coming. Pretty sure they feel that way about me already anyway so whatever. i'm just so excited. can't you tell how excited i am? BUT! that means he can't yell at me for being up! so take that! Technically, I'm the boss of him anyway. Technically, I have been for a couple years now. So, Technically he...whatever, next song rec.
"I Like It" Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull - Jersey Shore Edition
okay so I don't listen to the radio and therefore haven't heard the entire song before yesterday - it helps me to escape bieber fever, rebecca black and mylie? miley? yeah miley cyrus and all them.
ANYWAY, totally love this song. I'm jamming, seriously. especially 2:44-2:58 high voice enrique, reminds me of "you can ru-uu-un" from "escape" back in the day. used to sing that with nic all the time. still do every once in a while.

sickness, bee stings, greek mythology, zombies, unicorns, evil woman, sheryl crow.....cough medicine.
I'm sick. I have a cold. And it sucks. I've spent the day in bed - yes my actual bed Sketch - drowning myself in cough medicine and surrounding myself with kleenex's. Which made me laugh...but that's more of a long story.
Work today was a bit of a blur. I only had to get into the bookdrop for less than a minute this time. Which was exciting...until I saw the bees. Because apparently spiders and ants weren't enough. I have to admit I had kind of a sister-in-law reaction, grabbed the cart and ran back to the building once it was full. She's deathly afraid of bees. I've only been stung once. Of course it was while I was moving pipe with my brother. I screamed and dropped the pipe. Then while I was bent over in pain he stared and said, "ready yet?" But I love him. Especially when he serenades me with "Rooooooxaaaaaannnnne." Because in the morning that's super funny...My full-grown brother singing...on the particular morning I'm remembering it followed his rendition of some Whitney Houston song, can't remember which one, and we were sitting in the truck waiting for dad because the wheel had fallen off the pipe trailer a whole 3 times already. So yeah, we were done for the day. I almost cheered as he swore up a storm. Cause that meant I got to go back home, take a shower, and go back to bed. Early mornings really aren't my thing. In case you haven't noticed already.
But I guess it was a good day to be sick as I get to spend it in bed, reading/listening to my books for class and finishing the homework. I'm motivated to be done because then I get to konk out and turn on "Covert Affairs" season one, then go out to dinner tomorrow night with the cool aunt for sushi.
And, maybe it's the cough medicine, but I seriously feel like I should ramble about these books. Cause oh my god. Seriously.
Okay so book #7 was "The Lost Hero" by Rick Riordan and we had to listen to the audio format. It was actually pretty good, I'm thinking about reading the sequel after class is over and I have time. I love the Greek Mythology aspect as I'm kind of a nerd about that stuff and ancient Egypt.
But the thing about audio books is that they're good and bad.
Audio book Pro #1 - You can take and listen to them anywhere.
Audio book Con #1 - You feel like you must take and listen to them anywhere. Then you forget you left disc whatever in the car so instead of running out to get it you feel like jumping to the next one but you can't because you're already so lost in all of the backstory you're hoping that the end of the disc in the car will explain something!
Pro #2 - You can multitask while listening, like clean and unpack your apartment, make food, take a shower, clean your apartment, play with your cat, attempt to take a nap, clean your apartment...
Con #2 - The dude reads at a slower pace then what I'm used to so it takes forever to get through a disc! 16+ hours...man.
...there were more pros and cons in my head when I started typing but now I can't remember them. Cough medicine. I'll add them in later.
And okay, here-in comes the oh my god. "Zombies vs. Unicorns". Fun fact #1, actually shelved in the nonfiction section...but that's cause it's a collection of short stories by different authors. Still funny.
Anyway, the stories alternate between being about zombies and unicorns. Except for this one dude who tried to do a cross-over and failed epically. But it's by several authors and two editors who kind of have this running commentary and it's hilarious!
Question though, is it weird that I'm totally more freaked out by the stories about unicorns than the ones about zombies? I'm serious. There's some messed up stuff in there. Like you're thinking rainbows and stickers and flowers and stuff, and while there is a bit of that, duuuude. There's a lot more gore and killing and just disgusting stuff in these ones than in the zombie ones! And zombies eat brains! I'm gonna have nightmares about some killer unicorn coming to eat me and then having some weird zombie guy with half his face avenge me. Freaking cough medicine.
I've totally taken the zombie side in this whole debate. And if you haven't you should read the book. Then you will as well. Just, oh my god. But if you do read it, be warned. It's graphic. Like seriously graphic.
And now I'm going to go read the last few pages of ZvsU, then turn on Covert Affairs and crash. I can finish the rest of the homework tomorrow night after sushi with the cool aunt.
oh right, music recs. cough medicine. ummm... turning ipod on shuffle. which reminds me about my summer songs thing.
Remember how I'm a nerd? and I have all this music on my ipod? Well, every summer after school got out for like the past 4 years I have this thing called a "summer song" which is basically the first song that plays on my ipod (i put it on shuffle) when i'm released from school that year. and I have to listen to it every time it comes up on my ipod without skipping it for the entire summer. Cause I'm a nerd. and have a lot of music. so I skip a lot. But yeah, have been holding off on that since I'm still technically in school til mid June.
oh yay, more family stuff.
"Evil Woman" Electric Light Orchestra
my sisters and i sing this song quite often. delayed...reaction has also murdered this song during a karaoke party a long time ago. fun times.
"First Cut is the Deepest" Sheryl Crow
okay, is it me, or do both of these titles seem to fit in with the whole ZvsU theme? or maybe it's the cough medicine.
I'm gonna sleep now. or turn on Covert Affairs. I hit "play all" last night and don't remember anything past the camera taking pictures of something in the first frame of the series....don't even remember what it's taking pictures of.
...mmmm sleep.

The girl with the captivating eyes + sick day + first class = very tired
Okay, so flashback to three days ago. Working at both branches, feeling light-headed, but still staying on my feet. I don't think I've laughed so loud at the desk in a very long time. Long story short - too late - I wear the same jewelry everyday. 8 rings, 3 necklaces, same order, every day. And have worn the same jewelry since like May when I started working there. My favorite patron comes in, we talk everyday, and he says, "I like those rings. Are they new?" Um no. I wear them everyday. He didn't believe me so I had to ask my work friends to confirm. Yes, I do. He like freaked out, it was hysterical. "You wear those every day?!" Then something about usually being very visual so I made a crack about him being the only guy who looks into my eyes. "They must be very captivating." And my coworker, one of my favorites I shall call her "Cabin Fever" because she gets cabin fever and comes to work with us at the desk when she's tired of her office. Anyway, Cabin Fever appears out of nowhere and says, "That's what I tell everyone, you know the girl at _____ with the captivating eyes?"
Then, adding more to the already long story, Cabin Fever and I are talking again later about guys hitting on us and back to the captivating eyes thing so I shouted, "What's repulsive about me?" so that I could exaggerate the repulsiveness and they would leave me alone and my supervisor, who has perfect timing, shows up and says, "Is someone having a bad day?" So Cabin Fever says, "Just tell him you worship snakes. It always works for me." I died. on the spot. and laughed so loud all the patrons looked over. but wouldn't you?
Okay, so after work I came home to crash and burn.
Next day, aka Friday, aka yesterday, I woke up with a headache, a sore throat, nausea, and just a general deadness to me so I had to call in sick. I think whatever wiped everybody out a few weeks ago finally caught up with me. Apparently it can take 20 days for it to develop, Thank you Dr. Oz. Anyway, I tried going back to sleep but of course couldn't because when I wasn't too hot I was freezing, like freezing and I turned the heat way up so then I was burning up and I felt nauseous so I basically laid on the couch all day eating ice cream - it was the only thing that didn't make my throat wanna yell at me - and watching Warehouse 13. Again. Which reminds me I need to renew it. Call me obsessive, but it's funny. And um, cliffhanger! I gotta find season 2, They're on season 3 on tv, season two's gotta be out there somewhere, right? But I was so exhausted I didn't even have the energy to blog. And that's saying something!
Okay, then flashforward to today, wake up, drive to Omaha for class without getting lost - shocker, thanks to my cool aunt - go to bootcamp where I learn how to check email, log on to library resources and all that jazz. Head to the lounge to entertain myself for an hour (writing mostly, hooray for sketch and edit, they always keep me amused) then go to class. Everyone in there is freaking brilliant, but I was the only one who got a hug from the prof. Props to fun times meeting up for coffee, again thanks to my cool aunt and my awesome Superwoman boss. I felt special - not like stop eating the paste kind of special but actually special, that's the 3rd time today I've gotten to use that reference. But anyway, they are all brilliant and I felt like I was only there for comic relief. It was intense. I mean, the assignments look like they won't be too hard, some even look fun, but like the discussions and stuff were super above my head. I felt kind of like an idiot so I kept my mouth shut for most of the class. Even though she kept using me as an example, which was amusing on so many levels mostly because she made me sound super smart, ha! But the people are nice, it was cool getting to meet them, especially other librarians, that was fun. And I love my prof. She's fantastic. As always. And I actually did enjoy it so I look forward to next month's class. Even though it is on my birthday.
So, now I'm back. I didn't get lost - for very long anyway - I ate lunch at 6 - should have brought food but didn't cause was nauseous and light-headed. Maybe that's why people were so over my head. But, tomorrow is only 3 hours of work then Monday we're closed so I should have plenty of time to catch up on my sleep and look at least halfway normal.
In the meantime I've been immensely enjoying Lily Allen's music and Avril's latest single cracks me up. I was singing along with it this morning to help stay awake.
And now I'm out for the night. Finish Nanny season 2 so I can turn it back in and pick up How I Met Your Mother. I've always been curious about how that show began so I requested the first season. Hooray for library holds. Except when you have to do the lists in the morning and there are like 8 paperbacks. We don't organize paperbacks by alphabet, we group them by genre and throw them in a display. Totally not cool when you're a space cadet and are waiting for your caffeine rush to kick in.
Anybody get the paste reference? Hit me with it if you do.

It's your turn, honey bunches of crap...

So said my sister to her husband when we played monopoly. That's true love.
I'm sick. Literally. With a sore throat, how lovely for my day off. Anyway, I plan to spend the day on the couch eating ice cream, drinking green tea and watching Boy Meets World. They have seasons 1-3 at Best Buy for 15 bucks I say as subtly as a plug can be.
I'm also still refusing to get a flu shot. Even though the library is basically a breeding ground for germs, I think I'd rather get sick than get the shot. Needles aren't my thing. Ask the sister who inspired the title to this post. She got to see me at my grandest blood test where I almost passed out while sitting with my head between my knees and trash can at my feet. Or Beej, a high school friend who merely talked about giving blood at the blood drive and I ran to the bathroom, passed out, hit my head on the sink and woke up in the dorm mom's apartment. It's embarrassing, but I guess it's just another entry in my line of strange quirks squeezed between my obsession with a show that ended three years ago and my flinch for every time someone pronounces the word "supposebly" instead of "supposedly." Yes Sarah, I'm talking to you.
