Look, I'm posting again. And it's only been like a week. Instead of like a month. Woohoo!

Okay, so last time I did stuff in order, this time I'm doing them in reverse order.

Sunday Night: Sushi

Went out for sushi tonight for the Cool Aunt's birthday. Lots of food, lots of fun. Conversations ranging from Halloween parties, to dead people, to Christmas, to sports stuff. Never a shortage of stuff to talk about in our family.

Saturday Night: Huskers Game

The Cool Aunt took me to the Huskers game this week. I was super stoked 1, because it was homecoming, and 2, because the last game I went to was the Kansas game in Kansas back when we were still in the Big 12. Also with the Cool Aunt. So it's been a while.

We rocked it. Final score 45-14.

Ameer was unstoppable, Kenny had some awesome catches, and Tommy has really improved since last season. We have a really young team (with the exception of Bell and Abdullah) so we may have a pretty decent team these next few years.

Here were a few of our favorite things:

Ganz's Pants: I don't know if you watched the game but if you did there was no way you missed Joe Ganz's pants. (for those of you who don't know he used to be a QB, now he works with the QB's). Anyway, he was wearing these bright red plaid pants and they were just fantastic. They looked like something your grandmother would have bought you (like a bird sweater) and then he actually wore them. The Cool Aunt has labeled them as "The Gantz." Though we also liked "Gantzers." I'm wondering if they'll show up in the Huskers section at Scheels like those red and white striped overalls.



Joe is the one in the exact middle of this picture. The only non-player on the sideline not in khakis.

Westy's Crop Top: I love Westerkamp, you've gotta know that by now, but did anyone else notice how short his jersey was last night? It was like they ordered the wrong size for him or something. The Cool Aunt started calling him "Crop Top" as did the lady next to us. "Crop Top's back in..."

"Sports Harder!": First off you should know that not all of my siblings are die-hard Husker fans like myself. Or sports fans at all. My brother and I are hardcore fans, but Second Sister knows nothing about sports. I taught her the strike zone this summer. Her motto for her children playing sports is "I don't care if he's running around with his shoes untied, he's having fun!" Anyway, halfway through the game I get a text from her and instead of "Go Big Red" or "Go Huskers" or even "Go Team" she texts me "Sports Harder!" We liked it so much it became our battle cry. Actually it reminded me a lot of that scene in the Big Bang Theory where Leonard paints "Go Sports" on his stomach.



Yep, just like that.

Difference between a touchdown and a field goal: You meet some interesting people at Husker games. The lady sitting next to me was very nice, a teacher, knew my boss, etc. But then we had some interesting characters sitting behind us. When we got stopped on 3rd down and were forced to kick a field goal one of them goes, "A field goal's like kissing your sister." I died.

"Just like I said": The Cool Aunt really wanted us to run a reverse and I really wanted Westerkamp to catch one in the endzone so we would periodically call them out. (you know like when a baseball player points his bat to the outfield like he's gonna hit a homerun) we were convinced on certain plays that that's what they were gonna do because of body language or whatever so she would say "they're gonna run a reverse" and then they wouldn't so she would respond "just like I said." Then I would say "Westy's gonna catch it in the endzone" and it would be a run play instead and she would go "just like you said." So we were totally right the whole time. Not.

Fear Ameer: Even the band had Heisman Fever. Check out what they spelled during their halftime show.





Epic. He does deserve the Heisman. I know he has some stiff competition but I think that run against McNeese State should determine it all.

Selfies Galore: Mr. Johnny Rogers made another appearance last night since it was homecoming. Everyone was getting selfies with him, including the cheerleaders. And guess who my cousin got a selfie with! Mr. Abdullah himself. Super coolness. While the Cool Aunt and I are not big on selfies we did snap one in front of Memorial Stadium. But it was backwards so we had a dude take another one for us.


Saturday Afternoon: TAB Game Day

On Saturday TAB hosted its first event - Game Day. With help from the guard I got the wii set up (which took forever) for MarioKart, plus I had all my board games from camp still in my trunk so I pulled those out. And see, the boyfriend says they're wasting trunk space and that I should unload them...but I've pulled them out on multiple occasions so they stay in the trunk. Also because I have nowhere else to put them really. We played some MarioKart - I dominated - "somebody's actually good at this game?" was one boy's remark, apparently he had never played video games against me before - and then we played some Apples to Apples - I also dominated. Now they want to do it again next year. It's on.

Saturday Morning: Adventures in the Parking Lot

Queen of the Known Universe and I need duo name. Like how Girlscout and I are Team Awesome, you know? We're thinking it should have something to do with our initials since they are the same. We did some excellent teamwork Saturday morning when the gate to our parking lot wouldn't let us in. I can't say exactly what it was, but it was brilliance and I'm proud. Thankfully, after multiple emails and phone calls it is now up and running again. Wildly entertaining.


Friday Night: Hockey Game

Friday was the hockey home opener. I was so excited and had been waiting for this night since like April so I was super pumped. Since the boyfriend was out of town I took Queen of the Known Universe. In true date fashion I had to pick her up, then we had to get her a t-shirt, plus she had to take a picture with the zamboni. Only thing missing was blood on the ice. I was surprised there were no major fights this time. I'm sure that will change as the season goes on. Jitters got to us and we started playing sloppy blowing the lead and losing the game in the 3rd period. Tempers were flaring at the end and they wouldn't even let them do their salute to the crowd just in case there were fights as they left. I've never seen that before. The Queen suggested they have one guy with the puck and then make a big circle around him 'til he gets to the other team's net. Would make for an interesting strategy. Like the Flying V from Mighty Ducks.


And that's all I've got for my timeline. Except it's TV season again, so here are my highlights so far:

Blacklist: Red and Liz are back and I'm stoked. With Berlin still out there the team is in hiding, so he sent Lord Baltimore to find Red's wife to draw him out. And guess who plays Red's ex wife. Mary Louise-Parker. I totally screamed. You have no idea, I'm sure my neighbors thought I saw another spider or something. For those of you that did watch it, the mystery figure in black has to be Tom, right? I mean, he can't be dead. And my "Run Lizzy Run" count continues. Scale of Awesome 10/10.

The Voice: Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani have joined Blake and Adam as coaches this year and they have been surprisingly persuasive. Gwen keeps playing the fashion and woman cards, and Pharrell writes poetry and calls people silk. I love them both, but that came long before the Voice. I did love when one contestant told Gwen she taught him how to spell Bananas. I remember buying that CD and then making Mom listen to that song on repeat the entire way home. Some pretty good singers this year, should be interesting. I'm working on my top 20 list. Scale of Awesome 9/10.

Scorpion: Based on a true story, this show tells the tales of Walter O'Brien and his group of geniuses. The first episode introduces the characters and then they get hired by the FBI to stop a terrorist plot at an airport. Was pretty good, I'll keep watching it if it keeps that up. And it's got Katherine McPhee which should be interesting. Scale of Awesome 8/10.

How to Get Away with Murder: Another Shonda series - I think Thursday night has become a Shonda-fest on ABC cause you've got Grey's then Scandal and now H2GAWM. It's a legal drama about a bunch of law students and their teacher - loving Viola Davis in that role - in which she basically is defending criminals in court while teaching them how to do it. And apparently in the flash forward her four main students killed someone. Should be interesting. Scale of Awesome 8/10.

Red Band Society: Octavia Spencer plays a nurse in a pediatric ward - yay for The Help stars getting major TV roles - her charges range from boys with cancer to a girl with an eating disorder to a boy in a coma to a snobby cheerleader with a tumor. The show is more about them living in the hospital, but she holds it all together. Scale of Awesome 7/10.

Mysteries of Laura: Debra Messing returns to TV, this time as a detective. It actually aired on the anniversary of Will and Grace which was cool. This series is awesome, mostly because it reminds me a bit of Women's Murder Club. Female detective. Ex-husband becomes her boss. Etc. But the crazy kids are new. Love her assistant - or whatever his official title is - the one who helps find the pre-school and all that. But Messing pulls off the detective which is surprising because it's so different from Grace Adler. I didn't watch Smash but I'm sure she was great in that too. Scale of Awesome 8/10.


Yet to come: Castle, Mom, 2 Broke Girls, Elementary, Grimm, Person of Interest, Bad Judge, Mulaney, Cristela, State of Affairs and Gotham (which I have taped but haven't watched yet).

Those of the shows I still tape. I gave up on Bones, Grey's, NCIS, and Criminal Minds. Bones lost Sweets, Grey's lost Cristina and half its cast, NCIS lost Ziva, and Criminal Minds lost Prentiss so yeah....I'll wait for the DVDs.

So it worked, he was shocked.

I'm still shocked he didn't figure it out beforehand, but I think enough time had gone by that he had just assumed it was over.

You should have seen his face when he walked in the door.

He was so happy I totally cried.

Though before and immediately after that it was pure madness.

Half the world was there and we exploded out of the party room and into the main dining hall.

160 people.

But he is 70 so he's met a lot of people through the years.

It was nice, we had really good food and went through and introduced ourselves.

I got to explain that I was the baby and they kept having kids until they got perfection and then they stopped. Cause, you know, I'm perfect.

Right.

Was good to see extended family, though it was amusing because, as mentioned, I was the baby so Mom and Dad used to take me everywhere. So they all know me but it was so long ago I totally don't remember all their names. But of course you can't tell them that, especially when they ask all about the library which really implies that they know you.

Except for that one guy who didn't know who was in the picture on the invitation because when he was in their lives they only had 3 kids.

And finally the Favorite Aunties and the Cool Aunt met the boyfriend.

And they didn't give him the 3rd degree like his aunts gave me so I'm calling it a victory.

Though he was sucked into a black hole and talked trains with Dad's train friends for like an hour. Squirt got him a plate before they took the food away, it was amusing.

It was fun, he had fun, tons of pictures were taken, I'm sure many will find their way to Facebook.

And I'm out, back to work tomorrow.

Went in early for training on how to deal with them if we discover them in the library.

And afterward we all wanted to go home and take showers but we couldn't, we were stuck there freaking out about every book we touched.

BUT I did get to leave early cause I went in early. Which means I got to go home for lunch and I watched The Blacklist.

Holy crap.

That's all I have to say.

If you haven't seen it you should find it online, it's awesome and if the rest of the season is anything like the pilot then I'm in.

After that it was practicum.

Practicum Count-Up 35/90. 

First official day staffing the women's library and dude it rocked. There were huge amounts of books checked out, I was really impressed. After that cleared out we brainstormed for a while, gonna make some flyers to advertise our opening and all that, then headed over to the men's building to figure out our shelving situation. We have way more material in the men's building and we're running out of space.

Looking forward to the booksale when we get to fill up on even more.

That's gonna be interesting...

After that I headed out to see the boyfriend. We went to see Prisoners.



This was another holy crap.

But this was more of a stand back and look on with horror holy crap, unlike Blacklist which was an on the edge of my seat holy crap.

If that makes sense.

I figured out most of it before the end - lots of twists and turns throughout the story but if you notice things from early on then you'll get it - but still, we sat in the theater after it was done and all we could think of was "that's messed up."

Scale of Awesome says 5/10, however it did have an awesome cast, obviously Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrance Howard, BUT it also had Dylan Minnette who was in Saving Grace and since has had a bunch of guest appearances in things like Grey's, SVU, Lost, Medium, Major Crimes, and Supernatural. PLUS he's in a band called The Feaver which I enjoy.

This is one of my favorites.

I find them wildly entertaining.

After the messed up movie we watched some Big Bang Theory and World's Dumbest - yay. Oh and apparently he's so happy to have a "genius girlfriend" cause I was able to help him with iTunes.

Made me smile.

It was amusing though because the episode of Big Bang that was on was the one when Sheldon got all jealous of Amy and Stuart and officially labeled her as his girlfriend.

I told him he was so romantic, but not as romantic as the Relationship Agreement.



Now I'm back and watching - you guessed it - The Voice.

Since I'm not done with tonight's episode yet I'll post 2 more from yesterday's.

These two stuck out especially which is why I'm thinking Xtina has the best team at the moment.

You knew it was gonna be an off day when I woke up an hour early to go to work early and sit in the basement jamming to Red Solo Cup with the Queen of the Known Universe.

My mother would be so proud.

Husker gameday.

As a fan I love it.

As someone who works downtown where they sell my parking lot out to the public even though I've already paid for it I'm not so much of a fan.

So, woke up way early - cause it was a morning game - got my coffee from the vending machine and jammed in the basement listening to country music.

She had the same plan that I did and actually got there about half an hour earlier than me.

Jammed for a while before heading upstairs for actual work.

Where it was dead.

We joked in the morning about how many people were going to come in today.

I said 20.

Though when they changed that to how many not including those just on the internet or just to use the bathroom my number changed to 2.

My 2 volunteers.

It was a sad day for Husker Nation.

We're were rocking, up 21-3 at one point and then the second half came and they beat us 41-21.

Eerily similar to last year's game against them, though this time it was in our house.

Was totally bummed.

As was most of Nebraska I'm sure.

We're all nerds like that.

BUT I got to spend the last part of my day at the home branch with the Queen of Awesome so it evened out.

Now I'm at home with tomorrow off!

Softball game in the afternoon, the first of our regular season.

Though I guess our regular season has been cut down to just us vs. the Methodist's 3 times.

The other flavor Lutherans are scared of us and the E-Free don't have enough players.

Or at least that's the story I'm telling people.

I'll miss being mercenaries while playing on their team.

But it's on for tomorrow man!

Though, whilst comparing war wounds yesterday with my brother - he slid too - I was reminded I should wear pants so as not to break open my leg yet again.

He did it once and complained about how gross it is then called me crazy cause he would never do it again yet I continue to do it every year.

So. Pants.

Fine.

Back to Big Bang Theory.

I love Sheldon.

Today I was a Ninja of Awesome.

That's right, I rocked it.

Showed up early, worked with some volunteers, put together shelves - though to be fair, BossLady did most of the work.

She enjoys her mallet.

And dropping shelves so the ends fall off.

Though that is highly enjoyable.

But loud.

But highly enjoyable.

After that I put together my TAB minutes, sent them off by email, and talked to 3 of the 4 bosses who will need to approve when I ask them if I can take the kids to see Catching Fire as part of the Catching Fire party.

I think if they pay their own way and find their own transportation to get there it might actually work.

So far I'm 3 for 3.

Though one of the big pushes for it is if I challenge the kids to read the book beforehand so we can discuss the differences between the movie and the book afterward.

Which means I'll have to read it.

I know, I know, I'm horrible. I was the one who read Hunger Games in college before it got big then recommended it to everyone and then got 2 jobs and started school so there was no time for me to read the rest of the series.

The worst part being the people I recommended it to - Slim Shady & Fearless Leader - read it immediately along with the rest of the series.

So it's just me.

No, I don't know who she ends up with - if you tell me I will scream and throw things - and no I have no idea what happens in the next book but I'm assuming it has something to do with the President being pissed off about how that last one ended.

So I should probably read that and soon.

After all that I headed over to the practicum.

Practicum Count-Up 26/90. 

Today we spent actually shelving our libraries.

The nice people from maintenance moved our boxes (and boxes and boxes) of books from the main building to the men's and women's buildings that we're setting up our remote libraries in so today we spent in the women's building going through all the boxes and shelving the items.

I pulled them all out and made piles - fiction and nonfiction - then divided up the fiction into groups - and I blame this on our DVD organization at work, but hey I was the one to pick those so I'm allowed, A-F, G-N, O-Z - while he sorted and shelved the nonfiction.

And because I am a ninja of awesome the fiction fit perfectly.

Like literally, it went to the very end of the shelf with room for no more.

It was like we planned it that way.

See? Proof positive. Ninja of Awesome.

Then we went back to the main library for rootbeer floats - best practicum ever - and made plans for Tuesday. Which is when we'll officially set up the men's library.

After that it'll be staffing the desk and all that.

Should be fun.

He always has uplifting catchphrases for when I leave, "catch a wave" etc. This time it was "Go Big Red!"

Yes, he's a Husker fan as well, which makes it even more enjoyable cause we can talk Husker football.

Which I can't do at work cause clearly no one is as diehard as me.

Though I did skip the awesome game last week because I went to the races with the boyfriend.

Cause I'm such a nice girlfriend like that.

I'm hoping we play against UCLA the same way we played this past weekend. But we shall see. Last year's was not pretty.

After practicum I went shopping and bought birthday presents for my father and sister.

And called and sang horribly, as is tradition.

Tomorrow we're having dinner at the cabin to celebrate. There will be steaks and much rejoicing.

He did turn 70 afterall.

After shopping came back here, did some editing, wrapped the presents and turned on Big Bang Theory.

Got season six today while shopping, bazinga!

It was in the midst of a MC marathon that BBT started playing in the background and I switched. Originally watching it on TV but then the commercials were taking too long so I put in the DVD.

But it was right before the 100th episode so they were really good.

I am so tired right now that I can't sit up straight so I'm gonna be out soon.

Apparently having a night off and spending it editing and watching TV makes me exhausted.

Yay for relaxation.

But I'm gonna sleep while I'm motivated to.

I know, I'm boring. Sorry. Usually I'm more entertaining than this.

Was so excited for this one even before previews came out.

Scale of Awesome says 7/10, it was pretty amusing but not something I'd watch over and over. I will rent it when it comes out at the library though.

Sat outside for a while before heading back, which reminds me I'm missing the meteor shower but I'm too tired to go look.

Today was good. Very busy but went by very fast.

Twin Peaks came in on DVD.

Cult TV show from the 90's, figured I should check it out.

That's really all I remember from the work day. Went out to see the boyfriend after. Dinner then back to the lake.

Also watched some Big Bang Theory, which is what I have on right now.

They're on a mission to find the guy who stole Sheldon's World of Warcraft possessions.

I braved the microwave for the first time since the smoke-filled apartment adventure. Turns out my popcorn button does work, thinking that I hit the chicken/fish button by mistake.

Which is good, cause I'm addicted to popcorn so having to sit there or set an alarm would be annoying.

Only problem now is that the popcorn smells like smoke.

At least I hope I was successful - I painted it but still have to pull off all the tape and stickers to reveal the design. I'm hoping it turns out semi-okay and the tape doesn't pull off all the paint.

That would suck.

But my teens are a lot more crafty than I am. We'll figure it out.

Had some fun with the family today at the farmhouse and in G-Town.

Actually woke up a whole 2 hours before church - when does that ever happen?

Anyway, my aunt and uncle were out for this alumni banquet that the high school does every year and they stayed over.

Highly entertaining as always, I woke up to them laughing and making fun of my father.

Turns out, I didn't know very much about my dad as a kid.

I mean, I knew he was a prankster, but not this bad.

For legal reasons I won't share with you a majority of the stories - have I mentioned the "Kilowatt Kids" thing? - but a few are safe to share.

So apparently my family - more specifically my father - has a way of sending couples who've just gotten married off in style.

Perhaps some of you have experienced tampering with your cars - things painted on the windows, beer cans dangling from your bumper, etc.

Or is that just a hick thing?

Dad brought it up a level.

For one aunt and uncle he locked the car in low gear spilling oil all over the place. They finally make it home all frantic and Grandpa takes one look and says "go get your car they're taking it on their honeymoon."

So they got to take dad's brand new car on their honeymoon.

Karma.

For another aunt and uncle - okay we have this bell.

In the backyard.

Basically, my grandparents when they moved out here bought a schoolhouse and renovated it and moved it and all that and it came with a bell.

That my dad now has mounted in the backyard.

He took out the backseat of my uncle's car and put in the bell.

And since it was so heavy and they couldn't lift it out they took it with them on their honeymoon.

Another aunt and uncle came out to their car with their front seats missing. In their place were 2 buckets.

So they got to ride in "bucket seats".

Then - the ultimate prank - for yet another uncle and aunt - this uncle knows about my dad's history with pranks and decides to take precautions.

He hides his car in a storage unit and doesn't tell anyone where it's at.

Somehow Dad finds out. Since the unit is locked they get into the one next to it and he climbs over the top of the wall.

Instead of doing anything to the car all he does is lift the hood.

Making it look like he did something.

And to prove that he could, really.

So my uncle spent hours trying to figure out what Dad did when really he did nothing.

And the funniest part is that Mom is like completely the opposite of him in that way.

Which now explains a few of my childhood moments.

Like the time I climbed all the way to the top of the quonset cause the snow was that high. While Mom was freaking out and yelling for me to get down Dad went to get the camera.

At church we met up with yet another uncle - yes I have lots but no Dad didn't mess up his car at his wedding.

As opposed to the aunt and uncle who stayed over, they were the engine in low gear one.

All-in-all it was a good day. After dinner we hit up the cemetery, which I always spell with an a, woops, fix that.

Then I took a nap - woohoo- watched a lot of Big Bang Theory and helped Mom more with Facebook. She put up pictures from the reunion. Took us a couple hours cause there were so many.

Though I can't exactly comment on that cause I have like 50 albums, all of them having close to a hundred photos in them.

What can I say? I am my mother's daughter.

Think I'm gonna watch some BBT online if it's up on Hulu.

She's still in the Penny is weird phase. I'm trying to figure out what changes her mind into labeling Penny as her "bestie".

Can't remember, been a while since I've watched. I haven't seen anything from this season at all. Is Wolowitz still up in space?

I should really look into that.

Today was crazy.

9-1 with volunteers at the library. We cleaned all the computers and dusted first floor and half of second.

After which I helped out at the desk, and headed out to G-Town for the camp meeting.

This year's theme is "Back to the Scripture" - a play on Back to the Future.

We do a lot of "play on" themes. There was Fear Can Never Factor In, Mission Possible, Extreme Makeover: God's Edition, Survivor In Christ, and last year's Be Transformed. Plus various others.

Stoked for this year.

Gonna have some fun skits to go with the theme.

Though I'll be sticking with the HeeHaw stuff for the older ones.

Gonna have to dig up some more verses.

So nice doing those in the air conditioning.

Definitely makes a difference, plus this year they're giving us a flat rate so we're saving like 1500 bucks.

Double bonus.

And I got the software for the website so gonna have to brush up on my HTML.

I've been put in charge cause I'm the only one of us who knows HTML.

Should be interesting.

Have a feeling I'm gonna go flailing to Boss's Boss's Boss's Assistant, aka my ex-professor who taught it to me last semester.

Aw man, it's storming again.

Carter is not pleased.

Don't think he's a fan of thunderstorms.

Not that I blame him.

It's been super stormy here in Nebraska.

Granted not as severe as other parts of the US, but like every other day there's some sort of weather warning.

Today was up in the 60's which is probably why it's storming out.

Where was I?

Oh yeah, camp.

So yes, went over notes from last year, updated the application forms, added some promotional stuff on Facebook, am excited to do the website, but a bit nervous.

I'm sure I'll ramble more about that later.

We'll meet up again in May to send out forms.

There was a good number of teen helpers there last year, and we actually divided them up into two groups - well, the ones we didn't stick in cabins - but the rest did games one day and then kitchen the next so that they both got to work in the air conditioning at some point.

And we're sticking with that cause it seemed to go over well.

Gonna be short on lifeguards this year, should be interesting. I'm hoping that Megz can make it at least one day. If not we're gonna be royally screwed.

Trying to brainstorm ideas for time fillers if we can't take them tubing.

They love it but we can't go if the water is too high or too low.

We used to do counselor hunts instead, where basically the counselors would hide and their campers would have to find them.

I remember once our counselors wore camo and hid up in the trees.

Like up up in the trees. Took us forever to find them.

Someone once buried themselves in sand.

That couldn't have been comfortable.

Though my favorite was when a certain someone hid on top of the old cafeteria and then fell through the roof.

Don't look at me like that, it wasn't me.

Still funny though.


The new building is too high to climb on.

Sad day.


One year we had them do extra crafts but that was expensive.

Maybe a scavenger hunt would be good, but then we'd have to come up with one involved enough that it would take up a whole afternoon.

It takes like 4 hours for all the tubing festivities cause we leave at 1 and then usually don't get back until like 4 and cleaned up by 5. And then it's time for the younger kids to eat already.

So there's a lot of time to cover.

Ideas?

Anyway, I love our core group and the Music Mentor was able to make it, along with Scuba Steve, Blackstone and Obi-Wan. We had our usual icecream and joked around a bit.

After the meeting I headed out to the farm to jam with the parentals.

Who then ditched me for supper - joking, I left anyway.

But it's going to be their 48th anniversary so they're celebrating.

Didn't realize it had been that long.

Didn't remember my sister was that old.

Don't tell her that, I'd get smacked.

No, she's not old. Cause that would mean 17 years from now I'll be old and that ain't happening.

Actually I feel old now. Especially today after working with all those college kids. But I had Superwoman there to help me wrangle them.

I'm zonked.

The boyfriend is stuck in Sacramento. The train that's supposed to be there like now is delayed cause it derailed. No idea when they'll get out of there. Bummed for him cause they made big plans for tomorrow in Seattle. Hoping it doesn't take too long.

Alright, gonna watch some more Big Bang and crash at some point soon.

Super busy today at work. Only 5 of us there on staff but everyone and their dog seemed to stop by.

Not so excited because apparently there may be copyright issues with our Reader's Theater videos so they're gonna have to go through the city attorney, and that's just a mess.

So I'm guessing those are going down which the kids won't like, but really nothing I can do about it.

Other than that the day was okay. Good group of coworkers for the weekend shift.

Ever since the concert I've had the song "Just a Friend" by Biz Markie stuck in my head - it was playing on the radio before the concert - and apparently I'm crazy because no one else knows it.

Like, I was singing it at work and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Now I got the gross cough and the weird feeling in the back of my throat.

Which means if I wake up tomorrow with a fever and the weird taste in my mouth then it's official.

I don't know what happened.

Last year I got a letter from the Mayor cause of perfect attendance.

This year this is gotta be like the 5th time at least. Ridiculous.

But last year it was weird cause I did get sick, it was just always on my days off.

Oh well, today was nice. Got to sleep in cause I didn't have to go in until 4, but then of course woke up in the morning like every hour cause my cat got restless and decided he wanted to be up and if he had to be up then I had to be up.

Knocking stuff over, meowing constantly, jumping up on my stomach and walking all over the couch just to jump off and jump back on.

But see, he's very territorial. And thinks that this is his apartment and I just stay here. So the fact that I was taking up his couch during his alone time in his apartment totally threw him off.

Now he is blissfully sleeping next to me so apparently I'm forgiven.

Though if I get sick tomorrow and have to stay home I'll be having none of that no sleeping thing.

We'll see.

So The Voice was great. Cassadee seems to be the frontrunner - well, along with Amanda Brown. Though for a while there I really thought Trevin could pull it off. And BRYAN WENT HOME!?! I was totally sad.

So basically I'm all about Cassadee, Trevin and Melanie.

But they have this new rule that anybody can be eliminated no matter the team. Which at first I didn't like cause I thought it would suck for a coach if none of their singers made it to the final, but now I kind of like because it's like the really great singers aren't limited because they're on a certain team. Now it's just who's best, not who's best on each team.

So right now Adam's down to two - Melanie and Amanda. I would be fine with Amanda winning at this point, I really love the comeback underdog story.

Blake's got my favorite Cassadee and also Terry the Scot-rocker and he's also fantastic. Like uber fantastic.

Cee-Lo's got three left, Trevin of course and then there's the surprise Nicholas who's like this awesome rugged classic artist and Cody who's anything but classic - just so out there and crazy and fabulous. He's got a lot of attitude - he was the last one picked and he didn't think anyone turned around for him so when he realized Cee-Lo did he totally went crazy.

And then poor Xtina is down to just one artist - Dez who's a real crooner.

Though you kind of saw that coming, I mean she did have great artists it's just that they were all pop singers really and you've gotta have some variety cause not everyone likes pop. You know? Not that I don't like it, I'm just saying with Cee-Lo's team you've got a whole group of characters which I think gives him the edge. Plus he's got 3 people left so even if 2 are eliminated tomorrow when they go down to the top 6 then he's still in it.

Anyway, I should stop rambling and crash before you get bored of me.

Watched more Dark Shadows whilst doing homework. Got a lot done, just have to scan and upload it, then explain two literacies it involves. Then upload reviews for all the books I read this week. All by 11:59PM. Not a big deal, I'm off at 6.

Ordered pizza cause I'm lazy. Ate like one slice. And some breadsticks. And cherry coke.

Love it, Penny's dad is in town and Leonard is the only boyfriend he has ever so she makes him pretend they're still together.

I'm starving. Gonna make some pizza rolls, well, heat up some pizza rolls, then crash.

Yeah not much more as it was pretty relaxing. Tomorrow won't be, whole day at work then church then tons of homework. I would have done more today, but for the majority of it I need library books I haven't checked out yet. And in order to do that I'd have to visit the library. But it's my day off. Therein lies the quandary.

So, interesting day. Highlights include:

Class this morning, had to leave at 7AM. Mornings are not my strong point so I stopped for coffee on the way there - the usual order but a different girl. She was fast and more efficient than the regular chick so that was exciting.

Then actual class was mostly about literacy and Blome's Taxonomy, art of asking good questions. Then we gave some booktalks, went over some homework from last week and talked about projects for this upcoming week.

Literally got a pat on the back from the Library Goddess telling me I nailed the assignment. Says I got APA citations down. Think I can do them in my sleep. Which is funny cause I did MLA for years and I never got the hang of that.

Actually was nervous cause when we broke off into our group - there's only a few of us that are Mizzou library people so we go to a different classroom, the whole like 6 of us - and she was talking about how we need to work on our citations. Then I checked my grade and she said I got it perfected. Best of the bunch.

Which I was stoked about cause there are some seriously smart people there. This is library school man.

After that was the drive home and I attempted some homework when I got here but it didn't last long. Though I am stoked for the assignment, well one of them anyone, coming up with a visual project on a book I'm thinking True Story of the Three Little Pigs but still brainstorming project ideas. She gave us a list, I've narrowed it down.

More on that later, actually more like tomorrow. When I have the time to work on it. Maybe stop by the library to pick up some books I'll need. But highly doubtful, I can do that Monday and work on it Monday night.

So I watched some Big Bang Theory to make all the crazy go away, I'm getting closer to season four. I just watched this great interview with Jim Parsons and the chick who plays his girlfriend - I can never remember her name and I'd butcher it if I tried. See if I can find the interview.

Anyway, so there was class and then there was homework and the Big Bang Theory and I'm almost about to crash when I get this text from the boyfriend saying we'll be there in ten minutes.

What?!

Who's we?

So yeah, ten minute warning, apartment's a semi-disaster area so I start throwing stuff in closets meanwhile thinking am I already asleep and just dreaming this conversation? But then the phone vibrates again telling me they're on their way so I keep throwing stuff in closets.

Turns out he and his friend went to the races then decided to stop by on their way out.

At 11PM.

Which as fine, enjoyable actually, just a bit out of the blue. Carter enjoyed playing with his friend, though this was right after he took a giant chunk out of a my leg so I wasn't happy with him. I haven't seen his friend since college and that was back when we were dating before. Not like before before, this was the second time. And currently we're on round three. But it's working and I'm happy.

They jammed out for a while, talked about high school and weddings and dancing, apparently if we get married the Cha Cha Slide is on the banned music list. Told him I'd have to clear that with a few friends first.

Anyway, so just altogether a good and unexpected day.

Finished my homework and posted it. That's pretty much all I got today. 9-6 at work, obviously, did a lot of supply stuff. Jammed with a few of my favorite people.

- Goodreads.com is addicting. And distracting. And I need to finish my other homework before adding more to it.

- I miss the show Big Bang Theory. Starting season two in the background.

- Chuck Lorre is super talented. Writer for Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly plus Dharma & Greg and Cybill which were two of my favorites. For some reason he reminds me of Steven Levitan, he does Modern Family and more importantly Just Shoot Me. Something about the writing style and sense of humor.

- I actually can make it through the day with only a few hours of sleep. Carter had a bad night, sick and all that so we were up pretty late.

It was a pretty great day, got a kid interested in TAB, that's two in like two days. So September should be fun and interesting. After work was dinner with some extended family. Was cool to see them again. Apparently they are super stoked about selling Grams apartment. Cause it means they're done cleaning it and all that. Hooray! Huzzah! Other celebration explanations!

Spent the morning at the home branch, afternoon at the work branch, and the evening with the boyfriend. 

The system was down so we couldn't search anything so I cheated and used Worldcat. It's a worldwide that says which libraries own the item you're looking for. Then if our library is listed you know it's available at one of the branches. Most of the time. Then if you know the author or the subject you could lead them to the section. Hopefully it'll be up and running by tomorrow morning.

At least the internet was working. Whenever that's down it takes the system down with it, and the patrons freak out cause they can't get to whatever website they're wanting to get to.

Got to see Sensei for about a minute, had fun working with some friends talking about old times.

Watched some Big Bang Theory with the boyfriend.

I find myself falling back to that when I'm stressed.

Not that I'm stressed now, aside from work, school and camp I'm pretty relaxed.

Cause you know, none of those are time-consuming.

Especially when you're 40 hours at work plus taking a class that meets every Saturday and in the meantime you have homework to go with it.

Tomorrow night some family are going for pizza but I'm gonna have to finish my homework afterward since it's due Thursday. I have the majority of the reading done, just a few more pages then have to add the books to goodreads.com and find a pre-reading strategy to write a paper on.

"I'm not even gonna ask why you're pimping me out for cheese."

I haven't watched any episodes with Sheldon's girlfriend and as an avid fan that makes me a bit pathetic. Especially since she came in like end of 4th season, right?

Funny story is that she actually has a phD in physics or whatever, so she is what she plays.

Though she's probably a bit less awkward.
