Okay, probably one of the worst nights on The Voice.
I was totally stoked all day for tonight's show, you can ask my coworkers. I rambled to multiple of them on multiple occasions and then got hit with, "oh yeah i told you already" multiple times.
Stoked.
And intrigued by this whole instant elimination thing.
Okay.
Not only were the performances crap, they decided to boot off the two best performers.
Genius.
Sorry.
I'm only slightly bitter. Mostly because he kicked off Jordis, but also, Jesse Campbell? Seriously? He was the guy to beat! Even Adam said that!
Though I loved when the camera panned over to him after Xtina booted him off and Adam's jaw just dropped.
Tonight was sad. No outstanding performance that made me run to itunes and buy it.
The only good performance of the entire night came from Team Blake when they sang the Eagles "Heartache Tonight" and you can't even get that off itunes.
And while I love Maroon 5 because of Adam and James Valentine - one seriously awesome Nebraskan - eh. I mean, their song was alright, but again, nothing that made me run to itunes and download it.
Sorry.
Bitter.
But can you blame me? I mean, Jordis was...Jordis! Really?! Why?!
My top ten list has basically been decimated. Let's see who I've got left.
1. Jordis Unga - kicked out during instant eliminations
2. Pip - still rockin' the bowtie man.
3. James Massone - still jammin' in his letterman jacket.
4. Tony Luca - still a former mouseketeer
5. Angie Johnson - aka the marine - kicked out during the battle rounds
6. Jermaine Paul - no longer just a backup singer for Alicia Keys
7. Juliet Simms - still has the gravelly voice of awesome
8. Adley Stump - kicked out on the battle rounds
9. Sera Hill - kicked out during the live rounds
10. The Line - kicked out during the battle rounds
Honorable mentions include: Katrina Parker, Jessie Campbell, Jamar Rogers, Kim Yarbrough and Ashley DeLa Rosa.
So I guess 5 out of 10 isn't bad, and when you think about it only one person can win anyway, but I was still going with Jordis man, she rocks!
Now I just got Juliet and the boys. Though she's a rocker hardcore with her gravelly voice so maybe she'll pull it off.
Sorry, this is negative. I didn't set out to be all Debbie Downer.
Let's turn this around.
What went right today?
Hm.
Well, it was a Monday.
But I got through it unscathed.
So that's always a bonus.
Did a lot of supply stuff, more in store for that tomorrow.
Learned I'm, well, I'm not sure what I am.
Reliable?
Perhaps?
Superwoman is letting a chick interview me for a class. So either that's props to me, or she is looking to dump it on someone. Haha, I'm going to go with the first one.
Hoping I've proved myself after working here almost 2 years.
Holy crap, it's gonna be two years in like a month.
Cause I graduated on the 8th, started at the home branch on the 16th and the work branch on the 24th.
Dude.
I'm getting old.
I'm tired, thinking about going to bed early.
Didn't sleep well last night.
Some idiot at my complex went psycho middle of the night, banging on windows and flinging out a lot of 4 letter variety. Was tempted to call the cops but didn't want to get involved.
This is just getting worse.
Where's Keanu? QUICKSAND!
I feel like I need a burst of comedy to make it stop, MAKE IT STOP!!
This post is entirely too depressing and that's not my style.
Well.
Often.
It's not my style often.
I think. Hope. Wish. Dream. Whatever.
Comedy.
What sounds good?
Let's go with some good ole down home country.
Inspiration: "if you've been on television more than five times describing what the tornado sounded like...you might be a redneck."
You Might Be Redneck - Jeff Foxworthy
if somebody yells hoedown and your girlfriend hits the floor!
Here's Your Sign - Bill Engvall
you get your truck stuck?
"Here's Your Sign" song version
love travis tritt.
And here's one of these: AFV omg, too funny.
Oh yeah, and reference fact-or-crap of the day: Every US President with a beard has been a Republican.
See?
There we go.
All better.
I'm OUT!
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

"Would it help if I got out and pushed?"
Shameless Star Wars reference.
But I did.
Guess how many cars left the parking lot this morning.
Zero.
Guess how many attempted.
One.
Guess who was around when that happened.
Me.
Great way to meet the neighbors.
One chick gets stuck trying to get out, another chick waits for her to get unstuck cause she's blocked in.
Then she decided to stay so she wanted to go back to where she was parked before.
Basically I pushed and she hit the accelerator, and when that didn't work after about ten minutes we MacGyver'd it. Used the floor mats as traction, AND IT WORKED!
So take that!
But yeah, after that neither of them ended up going to work anyway!
Oh well, it was amusing.
My car was buried.
And they plowed the snow right behind our cars, so there was no way out.
I was split shift, Superwoman said stay home, but I was gonna try to go to the home branch in the afternoon.
But then they lost power.
So, nevermind.
Guess what I spent my day off doing?
Working on my to-do-list.
Shocker, right?!
Added to the group MARC records that I've been putting off, printed off all the material I need to read, read the chapter, took some notes, scanned ALL of my camp songs and uploaded them...now I just need to format them.
Yeah, PS-my new scanner rocks.
Seriously.
But you have no idea how many freaking songs are in that book.
Plus there are more that I don't have and Liz does.
Or I probably have them somewhere buried in my camp stuff.
Which is like tubs worth of stuff.
So those are uploaded - and I've been putting that off since August.
I did laundry and dishes...
What else?
Oh yeah, so ever since that whole pushing the car thing this morning I had the line "Would it help if I got out and pushed?" stuck in my head. Carrie Fisher's voice and all.
So I watched the original trilogy.
In the background, while I was scanning all that music, but it was fantastic as ever.
Though there were a lot more "search your feelings" remarks than I remembered.
Now I've moved on to The Replacements.
"Kick ass, Falco!"
I forgot how good the soundtrack was. Gonna have to look for that on iTunes.
Just got a call from my brother-in-law, he dug out my car for me.
Awww, I love my family. They rock. Though I'm pretty sure my mom asked him to do it.
And yeah, that was my day.
"Cold As Ice" Foreigner
sorry, it was either this or Let It Snow and as more snow is probably a bad idea...
and just because I can
"Don't Bring Me Down" Electric Light Orchestra
i'll tell you once more before i get off the floor, don't bring me down.
Tomorrow I'm totally going to work, don't care about the weather. Cause if I get stuck here again I might go crazy.
It's like, if I'm not sick, and I don't go to work, then I need to be doing something productive.
You know?
I just felt bad cause I couldn't get there.
But I did make a lot of progress on projects I've been putting off.
Next up, prepare for the interview on Monday.
It's a technical services kind of interview for class, where we go through the whole cataloging process with someone who does it for a living. I'm heading to the commission, figured they know what they're doing - cause I'm not supposed to interview someone I work with.
But they gave us a rubric so I won't be completely lost on what to ask...hopefully.
Anyway, I'm gonna crash.
I didn't nap the entire day.
Holy toast, right?
It's okay. Carter made up for me.
Wonder if that's his routine on a regular basis.
Probably.
But at least he's not tearing apart my apartment.

love the behind the scenes thoughts on that.

Wish you were here
Crews: "What you got up there? Costco?!"
...
Crews: "He was hiding down here. I identified myself, and he threw a toaster at me!"
Reese: "Throwing toasters at the LAPD is bad."
So, I got "Life" on DVD through Interlibrary loan. It's actually pretty good.
It was a short-lived series on NBC from 07-09. A cop went to prison for 12 years for a crime he didn't commit, once they re-examine the case and he gets let out he goes back to the force. With a 50 million dollar settlement.
He's zenned out now, says a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense, drives his new partner nuts.
She's a tough female cop, with a complicated past, you know, the usual.
So far I'm giving the series a 7/10 on the Scale of Awesome. Aka intrigued enough to get passed the first disc. We'll see if that changes once I'm on the second. There are only 3 in the first season.
Took me FOREVER to figure out how I know the lawyer chick that got him out of jail.
The Replacements.
Excellent football movie, love it, one of my favorite sport movies of all time. Probably IS my favorite sports movie of all time. But she's the main chick opposite Keanu Reeves.
Anyway, now that he's out he's trying to figure out who framed him and is slowly putting the pieces together.
Today was an interesting day for all of us.
It took a few hours to get on track, like we're all still in vacation mode or something. But that happens when you get two three day weekends in a row. I'll have another next next weekend as well, since we're closed for MLK day.
Though technically I have class on that Sunday. So it's not a complete weekend off.
Speaking of, I have homework for that class.
That I should probably start on.
It's not a major assignment, just read a few chapters and answer some questions.
Music Rec's
Songs You Know But Forgot You Knew Them: Alternate Rock
"Feel Good Inc" Gorillaz
super cool animation
"Wish You Were Here" Incubus
LOVE this video. whatever happened to these guys anyway? they had this and Drive and then they just disappeared off my radar...
You should at least know the refrain. If not you do now. Simple with its five words.
I'm so far behind on Criminal Minds that I didn't even realize Bellamy Young is Hotch's new love interest.
Bellamy Young aka same birthday as me, Ellen Darling who went all psycho killer on her husband in Dirty Sexy Money - slipped in the bathroom while trying to kill him with a crowbar and hit her head thus killing herself instead of her husband, I dedicated an entire Sketch and Edit to it here: My Life in Closed Captions: Sketch and Edit Discuss a Serious Matter - dirty ATF agent on NCIS, guest star on Castle and Grey's...
Anyway, I'm excited.
Hope they don't kill her off.
Maybe they already have.
Like I said, way behind.
OUT!
