TV show review: Happily Divorced - It's like the Nanny! If Mr. Sheffield decided he was gay 18 years into marriage and suddenly all their children just didn't exist. Then he decided to give his wife advice about dating other men.

Okay so it's really nothing like the Nanny other than the fact that it's written by and stars Fran Drescher. But it's actually pretty funny, I'd give it a 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome.
So, the weekend is officially over and I'm back at work for the week. I got to sleep in this morning, only at one branch in the afternoon then attempted to watch Vandy vs. Florida until I lost signal...then when it came back there was a weather delay. After that I just turned on CSI. Seasons 1 and 2 from Target for $12. Awesomeness. Now I'm watching That 70's Show on nick@nite. I really need to get thru the dvd's I have checked out but for some reason I have no motivation. Think I'm going to just turn them all in tomorrow and start off with something else.
It's just so weird having all this free time again. I don't have to run home just to read and post stuff. Huzzah! It's that bizarre no homework yet really no camp work since I can't really do anything until I get more application forms. That won't last. I give it a week. The deadline for the forms is July 1st. Even though we get them way after that.
Tomorrow's split shift. Gotta run errands between so I'm off to bed.
Duuude, That 70's Marathon! 10/10 on the Scale of Awesome. "Niiice burn!" Donna was pretty much my idol. Plus Laura Prepon as Nikki Heat - pure genius.

Right on walking on down the line...
It was a fantastically crappy day. Not just a crappy one, but fantastically crappy. You know the ones where like it starts out totally crappy and then people try to distract you by taking you out for food and then you actually have the afternoon off for the first time in like weeks and instead of napping as was your plan you spend it instead attempting to do homework but can't focus, so then you put on music but then your mind wanders back to the crapfest so you finally just give up and put in a movie, staring fruitlessly at the screen? You know, fantastically crappy days? Or is that just me too. And did I mention the part where you come home and look at the mail on your couch and read the letter from your vet about taking your cat for shots. A cat you no longer have. And don't actually know its current location because when your mom took it away you said you didn't want to know? Super sucks. Another new theme. Super sucks. It's something to scrapbook.
Aside from the suckfest I did get halfway through season two of Law and Order SVU - intro to Tutuola, bringing back Harper Anderson! hooray for that one, she's my favorite victim. And then of course Callie aka Sara Ramirez playing the crying mother after her kid shoots another kid. You know you watch too much tv when you can associate guest stars with other shows they're guest starred in. Like oh, he was the bad guy in that show, I bet he'll be the bad guy in this one. And bam! He is! total shocker.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be all super suckfest on you. Here, listen to a fun song that I find amusing.

And no, I have no idea what she's saying from 2:30-2:45, but I'm going to assume it's something about your disco. and how it needs you.

I'm sorry but CC totally steals the scene. She's the blonde on the far left if you didn't know. I kept watching the show purely for the CC vs. Niles aspect. Hysterical.

apparently, when it comes to music, i can ramble forever and people have no idea who i'm talking about. or so i've been told recently by my oldest sister. she's says that i'm the queen of useless info about music and movies. which is funny, since her husband is the king of useless information in general. i'm wondering what that makes her.

Library + Science experiments = Hootie Hoo
Remember how much I love my job? Well, today, I got overtime. My boss called in sick so, instead of staying until 12, I got to stay until 6. But I love it so it's not a problem. I really need a life outside of work. But it was a good day. Got to finish the lost in transit list which I still think would be an awesome band name. "Please welcome to the stage Lost in Transit!" and the crowd goes wild. Maybe I'll use that one in the future. Oh, maybe with someone from work. I've already got Delayed...Reaction and The Teacher and the Part-time Librarian. Hmmm... oh the places we could go.
Anyway, today was fun. I joke around a lot with my boss boss aka Superwoman. I have a 116 on her grading system so my coworker - aka Space Cadet oh yeah, her and me all day again - says that I deserve some kind of award for having over 100 percent. She says I should get a sticker. Or a gold star. Or a pizza. So I wrote that to Superwoman who replied, "Oh good grief, she would say pizza." Space Cadet and I are really debating on ordering pizzas every Tuesday night. We think it would be fun. Anyway, Space Cadet found me a gold star and I put it on my nametag. Superwoman says my prize is a snowflake sticker "compliments" of her, aka the ones on the desk we give out to kids that she didn't even know existed until she showed up this morning and said, "wow, cool snowflake stickers!" Compliments, HA!
In other news, I learned a little about science today as I had my own personal science experiment. Unknowingly of course. Those are always the best kind. And I think you learn the most from them. Like oh, maybe I shouldn't have my phone in my pocket when I'm about to get pushed into the pool. Or, Yes, books on CD do actually fall over like dominos if you run into the shelf they're on. "Oh gravity, thou art a heartless bitch" (Sheldon, Big Bang Theory). And you will have to pick each individual one up and arrange them all over again. Or how about, Wow, having an office chair at the base of your bed is probably a bad idea if you're prone to sleep-walking. Learned that one the hard way. We'll get there, I promise. If you have any sleep-walking stories bring them on. I'll tear them all to the ground with mine.
Today was just kind of a rude awakening. I put pop in my coffee thermos (after my coffee was gone and I still needed caffeine) and closed the lid. Then, later on, tried to push the button down to open the thing and it wouldn't budge. Since that didn't work I twisted the cap and got sprayed - SPRAYED - with Dr. Pepper. Carbination 101: Never underestimate the effect it will have on your clothing when you're sprayed with it. Then, THEN, later, I pushed the button again because apparently once wasn't enough and got sprayed in the face. Like literally in the face. It was like a rush of water directed at my eyes. Fantastic. But, it did the trick. I was awake for the rest of the day.
I've never worked there after school is released on a Friday. Like I've been at the bigger branch but not this one. We got overloaded with kids and people wanting to get on the internet. This little girl told me "see ya later alligator" so of course I gave the standard crocodile reply. Which I don't think I've said in like years. Years. And all the teenagers smiled at me. Well looked up from their ipods and notebooks long enough for me to notice anyway. And some really cute little kid made me origami frogs. His brother comes in once every couple weeks and we talk Hunger Games, Manga, school stuff, he's a good kid. But I've never met the little brother. He made me and Space Cadet frogs that actually hop. They're cute.
After drinking the rest of my coffee-flavored Dr. Pepper - it was disgusting but caffeinated - we closed up shop. The last patron who came in's last words were "hootie hoo" and they just kind of stuck with me. Another phrase I haven't heard in a while.
And with that I'm out. Exhausted. Tomorrow is work plus a tour of the grad school building - how to get there, where to park, etc. - with my cool aunt. There will be much rejoicing. And it will please my mother. So that's that. Then I might go to the farmhouse for my nephew's birthday party Sunday, depending on the weather. If not, I'll just spend the rest of the weekend holed up watching Warehouse 13, Murder She Wrote and the Nanny. Gotta get through them so I can get them back. Or at least that's my excuse.

Pitch tourney + The Hero of Canton, the Man They Call Jayne.....
Ohhh, emotional high. Such a good day. Went to work downtown this morning, and aside from the creepy guy in the lab staring at me (like i moved and his eyes followed, it was creepy) that was fun. Short and sweet. Then went to Barnes and Noble for some last minute shopping, then came home to wrap and THEN family xmas at my aunts! Not like immediate family but aunts and uncles xmas. We used to have these big pitch tournaments that lasted all night and we thought we should bring them back. It was awesome. I got partnered up with my cousin and we finished the night at the winner's table! Yeah!! Took down my undefeated sister and brother but then lost to my nephew and sister-in-law. My nephew somehow ended up with the perfect hand on the last hand. AKQJJ2. Seriously. Who gets those? Ever?! So they won toasters for being "hot" and my dad and sister got snowmen for being "cold". They were the ultimate losers. Ha. Too much fun.
And I got some awesome presents. This wicked cool hat from my aunt. I loved it so much I wore it for the rest of the night - tournament included. Got a bunch of pics taken, will have to upload one. It's very "the man they call jayne" except black and multi-colored instead of yellow and orange. If you get the reference.
Tomorrow is work then head to the farmhouse with my cat and all my presents since I have 24-26th off. Woohoo!
Now is eating breadsticks, watching the Nanny and then crashing.

"I'll meet you there, I'm gonna go jam out to Gwyneth Paltrow!"
Who knew there would be a day when those words came out of my mouth?! I mean, I loved her in Iron Man, Shallow Hal and of course View From the Top but before Glee she wasn't that high on my list of awesome. Now she's quickly rising to the top. Did you see that episode of Glee? She rocked it! And called Rachel on her crap at the same time! "Rachel - you suck! You're a total drag!"
Immediately after watching I had to go to itunes and buy the song. I love it!
Today was amazing. Went downtown for work in the morning then back to the smaller library in the afternoon which is backwards for me but still fun. I got to stop for coffee and a cinnamon roll, they were both fabulous. We had a staff meeting this morning and talked about the wonders of google. There's actually a lot of cool stuff you can do with it and now we have permission to mess around with it, woohoo! I love my job. Worked a little at the desk and heard a coworker use "p-slip" as a verb aka "p-slipping" and we paused. (P-slip as in paper-slips that we write notes on.) Was there 'til twelve then got an actual lunch break during which I watched the Glee episode I missed.
Then went to the other library, shelved everything there was to shelve and scanned the board books and first readers. I love my coworkers so much, you have no idea. Okay, I'm a shy person. Or at least I am at first, until I get to know you. Then I talk and you know say sentences that are longer than "no sir" or "yes ma'am." But today was about perfect timing. We were scanning books and my coworker claimed that I can't be a shy person because I was in drama in high school and I direct a kids camp and I sing and I'm on youtube. And I was like "But I AM shy!" And with seriously perfect timing my boss walks up to the desk and says "Since when?!" And we all busted out laughing. Apparently I have this air of confidence around me that I'm not aware of.
After all that I met up with my grade school teacher and we went to visit a buddy who's in the hospital. He's doing a lot better than last time so that made the day so much better. Then Nic and I hit up Old Chicago and I took half my meal home with me, woohoo for lunch tomorrow! Now I'm in for the night and will probably konk out watching The Nanny. Hoping for a good day tomorrow too. We are going to see Harry Potter 7 part 1! Woohoo!
Let's go get some tacos!!

Monday = Work + Castle + Firefly + Countdown to Thanksgiving
Today was good for a Monday. Even amusing at times. One moment especially, my boss's boss's boss saw me and went to introduce herself then realized she already knew me. It's all in the red hair man. Didn't even recognize me. Then she laughed, so that was good. So, with Monday over only ten days until Thanksgiving and two whole days off filled with family, food and frivolity.
Oh my god, I'm watching Castle and FIREFLY REFERENCE! FIREFLY REFERENCE! FIREFLY REFERENCE! "Semester abroad?" "No, TV show I used to love."
.........Wait........seriously? I'm not turning into one of those people. I'm already crazy enough.
Although, a supervisor and I did talk about Firefly at work today. I said it was so cheesy it was funny and it has some good one-liners and he replied that it's no crazier than Star Wars. And I like Star Wars, so I guess I'm okay with that.
And what's worse is that I totally just watched Serenity and it got over like two minutes before Castle started. So it's like a Nathan Fillion marathon here. This whole getting dvd's from the library is killing my social life. Not that I had one before. But now it's almost gone completely. And my cat is staring at me like he knows. "Get a life." Another dirty secret? I fall asleep every night watching The Nanny on nick@nite. Oh my god. I am that stereotypical librarian. Help?!
