Pretty sure Carter thinks I'm super lame.

Mostly because I don't have to work tomorrow until 1PM yet I'm still debating on going to bed before 10PM.

When did I turn into this person?

Midnight used to be early for me.

And that was back when I had class every morning.

Now if I see the clock turn 12, or anywhere near it, if I'm even able to stay awake that long, I'm like crap I gotta go to bed or I'll hate myself in the morning!

You know those mornings where you wake up and you're like, crap. Why didn't I go to bed sooner.

Like those "holy crap where is my coffee" kind of mornings?

Yes I realize I used the words "like" and "crap" three times in three sentences.

But I'm about 80 percent already asleep. Or is it asleep already?

This is me posting on autopilot.

If I start talking about evil pigs or losing hamsters don't even attempt to translate it.

I won't be able to in the morning and it's my head these random thoughts are springing from.

Did that make sense?

It sounded like it did in my head.

So I've been watching a lot of NCIS:LA. As you've probably noticed, I've mentioned it once or twice. I'm not so deep into it like I was with Chuck or Leverage, but it's a good enough show to have on in the background when you're supposed to be doing other things, you know like homework or writing.

And every once in a while when you look up it's usually worth it.

Though it'll never top its originator.

I like the buddy dynamic between Callen and Sam. Their banter is quite humorous.

Kensi is a badass, Hetty is hilarious, I had completely forgotten about Nate the psychologist until I got season one, but Deeks is still my favorite.

Although sometimes I want to punch him.

But that's how you know it's a good actor.

Like Rachel Berry.

She's a fantastic singer.

But as a person, you kind of always want to punch her.

The actress is so good she makes you hate her. Then love her again when she sings.

I'm assuming she's still the star on Glee, I haven't watched a single episode this season.

I've also fallen behind on Bones - shocker I know! This was my favorite show for like ever. And The Closer - still at midpoint of the season. Big Bang Theory I'm still on last season and that's only because I bought the DVD. If I hadn't I'd still be on the season before that. I love that show. Criminal Minds I read up on online. Warehouse is out on break until July. Grey's I haven't watched regularly since college so like 2 seasons ago.

The only real shows I keep up with are Castle, 2 Broke Girls, and NCIS the original.

And technically I don't really even watch them when they're on live, just DVR'd.

Cause I work.

A lot.

Or I'm gone.

Or distracted.

Or writing.

Or writing and distracted.

Like now.

Agent Jordan Todd from Criminal Minds is currently Detective Jess Traynor on NCIS:LA. Took me 10 minutes to figure out how I knew her and by that time she was already dead.

I feel like somebody should come up with a list.

Of locations and agencies.

Like LAPD is Deeks.

But it's also Brenda Lee Johnson from The Closer.

NYPD is Kate Beckett in Castle but it's also Olivia Benson from SVU.

The FBI is always obnoxious in these shows, but you've still got Agent Booth from Bones and the whole BAU from Criminal Minds.

Trent Kort is a completely obnoxious CIA agent from NCIS but then you've got two "CIA Agent Walker"s aka Annie from Covert Affairs and Sarah from Chuck who are completely anti-Kort.

Though John Casey is the only NSA Agent I'm coming up with.

Then you just got anti-everything with the Leverage gang.

I watch too many crime shows.

But someone should still make a list.

Cause there's even more crime shows that I don't watch.

So there's gotta be more crossover.

Yes I'm a nerd, but in my defense there were no paper towels.

Sorry, that was my Mom's excuse for leaving unmarked luggage in an airport bathroom.

In my actual defense I'm half asleep, I'll be lucky if the above references are actually correct. I'll verify them tomorrow. As for now I'm out.

Class today flew by pretty quickly. One of my colleagues in the library system gave a talk on some good young adult books so it was cool to see her in action.

I got some more Library Goddess-isms, and there are more than usual this time because I haven't posted any for the past couple classes.

After class I came back and watching some more Covert Affairs...even though I own it and not the DVDs I have checked out and are due soon. That's my problem, I always get distracted by something I own already then run out of time.

Then I went to see one of the most rockingest bands here in Lincoln play at a bar downtown. The awesomeness that is "Some Assembly Required". AND there was yet another instance for the "My Boss is Cooler Than Your Boss" series mentioned here: My Life in Closed Captions: Here's a little segment called: "My boss is cooler... cause Superwoman totally bought me a drink. But apparently now I'm down to 95 points. Which is super depressing cause I was up to 129! Man. I'm gonna have to start bringing her cookies or something cause Space Cadet is kickin' my butt in points.

Okay, so this is my favorite of their songs. They play a lot of covers so when they started this one and I loved it I had to google the lyrics on my phone. They now give me crap about that but it's just a great song. I hope you guys enjoy it too. Anyway, two drinks and numerous jokes about the exotic dancers next door later I'm back at the apartment.

Okay, so you're a rocket scientist.

Only 11 and all homework is done and posted. Pictures are printed, bag is packed, clothes are laid out, shower is taken, now all that's left is the sleeping part. Did I mention I wasn't a morning person?

Oh! and I figured out what the camera was taking pictures of in the beginning of Covert Affairs (scroll down to previous post) she's taking a polygram test and they're filming it.

Work went pretty fast, I felt kind of special today since I got to train one of the workers coming back for the summer. Big potatoes.

Dinner with the cool aunt was wicked awesome. She let me keep the leftovers. I've been practicing self-control and finished my homework instead of devouring them while watching Covert Affairs. That's next on my list. But she never lets me pay for anything. It's like a knock-down drag-out fight when you get all the women in our family together and they want to figure out the bill. Seriously.

So, Zombies vs. Unicorns is officially finished and I'm still in this weird altered mind state right now, even without the cough medicine! It just got weirder and weirder. But it was good. Not something I'm going to read over and over but it'll go on my shelf instead of being boxed in my closet or donated to the library. Which is an honor actually. I meant the shelf part, but yes, donating to the library is an honor as well.

out like trout in a drout filled with clout. .... i'll explain that when i try to interpret it tomorrow. it was funny, i read through yesterday's post and there were multiple times when i said, "umm where was i going with this again?" and then i remembered more stuff. which now of course i've forgotten. so i'm gone like the song about donkey kong in a tho-whoa! done.

I'm sick. I have a cold. And it sucks. I've spent the day in bed - yes my actual bed Sketch - drowning myself in cough medicine and surrounding myself with kleenex's. Which made me laugh...but that's more of a long story.

Work today was a bit of a blur. I only had to get into the bookdrop for less than a minute this time. Which was exciting...until I saw the bees. Because apparently spiders and ants weren't enough. I have to admit I had kind of a sister-in-law reaction, grabbed the cart and ran back to the building once it was full. She's deathly afraid of bees. I've only been stung once. Of course it was while I was moving pipe with my brother. I screamed and dropped the pipe. Then while I was bent over in pain he stared and said, "ready yet?" But I love him. Especially when he serenades me with "Rooooooxaaaaaannnnne." Because in the morning that's super funny...My full-grown brother singing...on the particular morning I'm remembering it followed his rendition of some Whitney Houston song, can't remember which one, and we were sitting in the truck waiting for dad because the wheel had fallen off the pipe trailer a whole 3 times already. So yeah, we were done for the day. I almost cheered as he swore up a storm. Cause that meant I got to go back home, take a shower, and go back to bed. Early mornings really aren't my thing. In case you haven't noticed already.

But I guess it was a good day to be sick as I get to spend it in bed, reading/listening to my books for class and finishing the homework. I'm motivated to be done because then I get to konk out and turn on "Covert Affairs" season one, then go out to dinner tomorrow night with the cool aunt for sushi.

And, maybe it's the cough medicine, but I seriously feel like I should ramble about these books. Cause oh my god. Seriously.

Okay so book #7 was "The Lost Hero" by Rick Riordan and we had to listen to the audio format. It was actually pretty good, I'm thinking about reading the sequel after class is over and I have time. I love the Greek Mythology aspect as I'm kind of a nerd about that stuff and ancient Egypt.
But the thing about audio books is that they're good and bad.
Audio book Pro #1 - You can take and listen to them anywhere.
Audio book Con #1 - You feel like you must take and listen to them anywhere. Then you forget you left disc whatever in the car so instead of running out to get it you feel like jumping to the next one but you can't because you're already so lost in all of the backstory you're hoping that the end of the disc in the car will explain something!

Pro #2 - You can multitask while listening, like clean and unpack your apartment, make food, take a shower, clean your apartment, play with your cat, attempt to take a nap, clean your apartment...
Con #2 - The dude reads at a slower pace then what I'm used to so it takes forever to get through a disc! 16+ hours...man.

...there were more pros and cons in my head when I started typing but now I can't remember them. Cough medicine. I'll add them in later.

And okay, here-in comes the oh my god. "Zombies vs. Unicorns". Fun fact #1, actually shelved in the nonfiction section...but that's cause it's a collection of short stories by different authors. Still funny.
Anyway, the stories alternate between being about zombies and unicorns. Except for this one dude who tried to do a cross-over and failed epically. But it's by several authors and two editors who kind of have this running commentary and it's hilarious!
Question though, is it weird that I'm totally more freaked out by the stories about unicorns than the ones about zombies? I'm serious. There's some messed up stuff in there. Like you're thinking rainbows and stickers and flowers and stuff, and while there is a bit of that, duuuude. There's a lot more gore and killing and just disgusting stuff in these ones than in the zombie ones! And zombies eat brains! I'm gonna have nightmares about some killer unicorn coming to eat me and then having some weird zombie guy with half his face avenge me. Freaking cough medicine.
I've totally taken the zombie side in this whole debate. And if you haven't you should read the book. Then you will as well. Just, oh my god. But if you do read it, be warned. It's graphic. Like seriously graphic.

And now I'm going to go read the last few pages of ZvsU, then turn on Covert Affairs and crash. I can finish the rest of the homework tomorrow night after sushi with the cool aunt.

Remember how I'm a nerd? and I have all this music on my ipod? Well, every summer after school got out for like the past 4 years I have this thing called a "summer song" which is basically the first song that plays on my ipod (i put it on shuffle) when i'm released from school that year. and I have to listen to it every time it comes up on my ipod without skipping it for the entire summer. Cause I'm a nerd. and have a lot of music. so I skip a lot. But yeah, have been holding off on that since I'm still technically in school til mid June.
