Huzzah for holiday weekends!
Mine was glorious, how about you?
Slept in Thursday, watched a bit of the parade, then picked up the boyfriend en route to Oldest Sister's place.
Food, fun, football, and frivolity. Plus a lot of family. It was fabulous.
Too many F's.
Anyway, ate a lot, watched some football, fell asleep for like 20 minutes, looked through ads, figured out stuff for Xmas list, ate some more, listened to some Elton, wrote out grad invitations - all of mine had to be approved since I kept screwing them up - then headed home.
That was Thursday. Today was filled with more relaxing. Yes I had today off too. I love City holidays.
Anyway, watched the Huskers lose - which sucked but maybe it's the push they need to fire Pelini, I know, I'm sorry if you're still a supporter - set up the trees - yay for good ones that don't make me want to burn them to the ground - and put up the stockings - we're in need of some new ones that actually match - and wrapped some presents - though not as good as my sister's do.
I'm not crafty, I can't wrap things all fancy, but everything is covered so I called it a victory.
After that stopped by the boyfriend's place and we watched Watchmen.
Saw much more of Malin Akerman than I ever wanted to but it wasn't a bad movie. Scale of Awesome says 5/10. The boyfriend seemed to love it. For the action. And effects. Not for her. I think.
That's all I got. Work tomorrow, off Sunday. Hoping to do some xmas shopping at some point.
On to the music.
I forgot how much I missed Lily Allen.
yes, i know it's like the 5th time i've posted that video but to be fair it has been at least a year so get over it.
She's definitely in my top 5 for favorite artists. I think it goes something like this:
Maroon 5
Karmin
She & Him
Lily Allen
Eminem
The Wreckers used to be in there but they got bumped down to number six since they haven't came out with anything lately.
And yes I know Eminem doesn't really fit with the rest of those artists. And my boyfriend hates him but I still love him so get over it.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

-Pens: 2
-Sharpie marker
-Headphones
-USB adapter for car and wall
-Flashdrive
-Pepperspray
-CPR kit - don't mix those up
-Shades
-Fingerless gloves
-Nametag lanyard
Finalized camp stuff today. Picture CD's were burned, thank you's were written. All that's left is for Jim to send them and he's on that.
SO I'M DONE!
Until like MAY!!
Which means I get to focus on other stuff in life, like the fact that the boyfriend and I have officially been together for 7 months, or that Fearless Leader is ditching us meaning we get to pick up the excessive amount of duties that she acquired throughout her 3ish years of service.
I'm still crying inside, I think we all are.
Or that school starts in a couple weeks which means I gotta get together with the Library Goddess to come up with a schedule for grad assistant stuff aka comp sessions, conference specifics, etc.
And then the three classes and homework to go along with them.
I foresee more carpool sessions with the awesomeness that is KB upcoming.
But for now I'm going to enjoy my "time off" aka just work.
Meaning I need to finish editing all of the stuff that I should have done months ago but had everything from camp hit me at once.
I look forward to Spring of 2013.
Should be all graduated and done by then.
Much less stress in life, I should start a countdown or something. Those are fun.
Okay, more olympics.
Delayed olympics.
I'm about to watch Gabby win gold.
Well, technically, she did the vault, up next is the bars.
That's how far I'm behind.
Yes, I know she wins but I gotta watch it.
I taped them, I gotta at least skim through them.
Then I'll turn on some Wipeout and crash.
Ha.
Song You Know But Forgot You Knew It
"I'll Think of a Reason Later" - Lee Ann Womack
"did i mention i don't particularly care for her?"
Carter is pretty zenned out for being forced out of his favorite farmhouse and dragged back to the apartment.
He actually didn't spaz out in the car either, I think he's secretly a Lily Allen fan. That's who we jammed to on the way back.
"He Wasn't There" live on sirius
Look, I haven't posted this in like a whole 8 months.
Look, a legitimate post before "11:50 PM".
Shut the front door.

Remember, Remember the Fifth of November: Take Four
Another instance of: My Life in Closed Captions: Here's a little segment called: "My boss is cooler...
Got called to the backroom today. Superwoman says I work too much. She's making me take tomorrow off. I mean, what does she expect me to do? Sleep in? Lay on the couch all day catching up on TV - OMG, have you seen "Unforgettable"? it's fantastic. - and watching DVDs I have that are due this week, aka yesterday?
Geez. Watching out for my sanity like that.
That's why she's the coolest.
Alright, so we did Posts of the Year and Pictures and tomorrow is Quotes so I guess that makes today Music...
Favorite new songs I've discovered throughout the year.
"I'm Into Something Good" The Bird and the Bee
i could recommend this over and over and over.
"Lover Lover" Jerrod Niemann
love the vocals. awesomeness.
"Tonight, Tonight" Hot Chelle Rae
summer song 2011 still lives on. somehow still not sick of it.
"Back At Your Door" Maroon 5
i've probably listened to this song more times in 24 hours than i have most songs ever.
"Time Warp" Glee Cast Version
okay so it's a little before the year mark, but i've listened to it enough times throughout the year that it still counts.
"He Wasn't There" Lily Allen live recording
i've been a fan of hers since college but just recently found this on youtube, love it.
"Misery" Glee Cast Version
i've watched this videos many times, mostly after i complete big assignments. wanting to throw all my papers up like that but not wanting to have to clean it up. i'll stick with just watching.
"Since You've Been Gone" Theory of a Deadman
my first ever video rec back on the first of the year. geez. (well this and 'heart of gold')
"Why Do You Let Me Stay Here" She & Him
morbid but awesome. stoked for their christmas album. love her voice. again, fan since college but never saw this video until a few months ago.
annnd now for the most rec'd videos I've posted.
3. "Forget You" Glee Cast feat. Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth man, no last name campaign.
Though I really do love this version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFnth12HyJU Audacity-Made, it's a program that can mess with vocals. Yeah, still Gwyneth. Just a bit lower. Just a bit. haha.
That was born after the blog was started. These two I had been big fans of before I started on here. Yes, complete opposites, but stick with me.
2. "You Drive Me Crazy" Shakin' Stevens
diggin' the dance moves. he's welsh. just go with it.
1. "Reflecting Light" Sam Phillips
love it.
Tomorrow is Quotes of the Year, such as this: "How do you expect me to get a woman if I can't blend a margarita?" Tune in for more like that one and I'll probably throw in some other random stuff as well.
"Why do you edit? Just give me credit. I'm just sitting on the shelf."

well they said she died easy of a broken heart disease as i listen through the cemetary trees...
OMG patrons. This weekend was just weird. Which strangely is actually becoming quite normal.
One of the regulars went off on me about stuff and because I love my job, I just sat there and took it. I had to walk it off later but I sat there and didn't say anything. I actually had a whole reply in my head about libraries being there for people to better themselves. We're here for entertainment, we're here for research and we're also here for when you can't afford anything else. Which is true for a lot of people in that neighborhood. But, since I love my job, I smiled and walked it off.
Whatever, day's done. I'm passed it.
Now I'm watching Swamp People with Dad. Think I'm hooked. "Shoot him Lizbett!" Maybe I'll get Dad a Swamp People shirt for his birthday. I'm sure Mom would love that. Or maybe a coffee mug. He'd use that. Before this was Ice Road Truckers. Or IRT. Does it seriously need an acronym? Really? The chick trucker was pretty cool. But I still can't even think about the show without hearing Victoria's voice in my head.
go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-mYkJIcn8c
Me: "Who has that many spice bottles?"
Dad: "Mom."
Swivel Store Organizer is only 19.99. Huzzah!
Alright, commercial break is over. Joe's mad cause his stepson Tommy slept in yesterday and they're playing catchup. Troy is letting Liz (he calls her Lizbett when he's yelling at her to shoot a gator) call the shots on where they go this time. Junior and Willy are stuck in a bunch of weeds since the water level went way down. That's basically the highlights so far. and OMG! Swamp People has a blog. gotta post it. That's fantastic. http://swamp-people.blogspot.com/
"He Wasn't There" Lily Allen
one of my favorite singers and I like the album version of this song but I love this live one! fantastic. seriously. the guitar and piano are awesome.
"and everyone said you have to give him some time...and i'm glad that i gave it to him cause now everything's fine..."
"One Headlight" The Wallflowers
wrote a story based on this song but never finished. maybe i'll post that later as well. actually i think i've already posted a portion of it earlier. maybe during favorites week. i'll find it. My Life in Closed Captions: This is a week of my favorite things Day Five: Hob... there.
tomorrow is all camp all the time. so much for a day off. i'll keep you posted.
ps- yes i know i was supposed to finish the rest of the reviews on those books 9-12tonight but i dont have them with me here. will do it tomorrow night.
