I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

When you see my signal, unleash hell.

I told Superwoman this morning that today was gonna rock.

I was wearing my ass-kicking boots, I got my evaluation back and rocked that sucker, I had my iced coffee and it was Friday!

Take that world.

The day actually started off highly amusing.

Had to wake up early so I could drive my nephew to school. Picked him up at the house and then dropped him off.

So he's getting out of the car and I'm like, "do you have your lunch? don't forgot your backpack" and then I was like whoa.

Mom moment.

Flash forward to me dropping off children with train lunch boxes.

From there it got even more entertaining. Had time to stop for coffee, got my evaluation and a raise, worked the desk, worked the lab, trained a volunteer, checked stuff in, worked the desk some more and then I was off and headed over to Oldest Sister's house for movie night.

We got sushi, huzzah for takeout! Watched some tennis, good god, I'm glad we didn't watch all 4 hours of that match, I don't know how they were still playing...It was on when we put the movie in and it was still going after the movie was over.

And speaking of the movie, holy crap have you seen this one?

Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.

Awesomeness, but so much darker than I expected to be.

A lot of funny moments though and I really like these actors. Jeremy Renner obviously you've got The Avengers, MI4, Bourne Legacy, and then you've got Gemma Arterton aka Io from Clash of the Titans and Quantum of Solace.

Plus - and it drove me nuts the whole movie I had to look it up - Famke Janssen the mom from the Taken movies and also a former Bond girl.

So we enjoyed our sushi and Second Sister stopped by cause her and the husband had a sushi date night of their own.

Quotes of the Night:

Oldest Sister: "He kept pushing on it asking 'does that hurt?'"
Me: "You should have kicked him in the head and asked if that hurt. Then called it a reflex."

Second Sister: "Well no one ever says 'you have great dog breath.'"

and of course

Gretel: *after man explodes all over everyone* "The Curse of Hunger for Crawling Things. I f*cking hate that one."

Now I'm home and watching Hollywood Game Night.

"Where's the bald picture of her? I know when that happened!"

I would have done better with the Britney timeline than I would have with the top toys one.

Alright, on to the music:

Upside Down - Paloma Faith

I rather like this one. Downloaded it today off iTunes and jammed out to it for the rest of the day.

So the irony in this next song is that I'm following this car:

Photo: Was following Auntie Em when Defying Gravity started playing on my ipod. Coincidence?

Look at the license plate - Auntee M - and then this song starts to play:

Defying Gravity - Idina Menzel

Coincidence?

For those of you who don't know, Idina sang this song in the musical production of Wicked which is based off the book series by Gregory Maguire about the Wizard of Oz, more specifically the wicked witch's story.

and i'm out.

"You have great hair, can I touch it?" "What?"

Wore my awesome boots again to work today.

Queen of the Known Universe says I need to get something to put in the pockets.

Something specific but it probably wouldn't fit.

So now there's a debate going on as to what would fit.

Today was Monday but I was determined to not see it as a Monday. Mostly because I worked the weekend and I didn't want another Monday.

But I came in with an optimist's attitude - just trying it on for size - saying today was going to be good and it actually turned out okay. Which was shocking for a realist like myself. Though some may say pessimist.

Okay, mostly I say pessimist but have changed it to realist because pessimist just makes me seem like I'm mad all of the time.

Which is not true.

Just most of the time.

Joking.

Anyway, everything good became "take that, Monday!" aka answering reference questions like a pro, training volunteers, and ordering a banana split for lunch with the works.

I go there basically every day but this was only the second time I've ordered one and somehow majestically Superwoman was there - like she was the first time - and super jealous.

As mentioned, I go there basically every day, so they let me pick my three flavors of icecream. I went with cherry nut, peanut butter fudge and regular chocolate. Then cause I needed toppings - or so they said - I added some chocolate sauce, nuts and whipped cream.

By the end the lid wouldn't close and I had to walk through the library with everyone staring at me.

Photo: Banana split for lunch - I go there far too often they let me pick my flavors so I got cherry nut peanut butter fudge and chocolate. Take that Monday!

Not that them staring is abnormal.

Speaking of staring, okay, so there is a reason that I don't wear my hair down at work.

Oldest Sister says that I should, I claim it's easier if it's up in a pony tail, which it is, but it's mostly because I get hit on EVEN MORE when it's down.

Like yesterday this dude was like, "did you dye your hair?" "no." "oh, well it looks nice. how's your day going?" etc. And then I'm stuck in this awkward conversation while he's signing up for a computer and no one around to make him stop talking to me. And the fact that he asked if I dyed it means that he's seen me before and knows what it usually looks like. Which creeps me out more cause I don't remember seeing him ever.

Then today this totally different guy comes up to me and says, "you know, you have great hair. can I touch it?" "what?!"

Um.

What the crap do you say to that?!

I'm gonna say no...but thanks.

Yes, that was a Friends quote. Deal with it.

But seriously? I'm like in the middle of volunteer training and I'm pretty sure my volunteer even did a double take. And I was basically like, "um, that's a weird question." and walked away talking to my volunteer.

He later came up to me claiming he was joking - good god I hoped so - but then continued talking about my hair.

Seriously?!

It needs chopped and dyed cause it hasn't been since like January. So why am I getting compliments now? In August?

When I don't want them?

Not that I want them from them ever anyway.

Though it would be nice if my boyfriend were to actually notice these things.

Anyway, so there is a reason I don't wear my hair down at work.

Even more amusing is the conversation I had with Queen of the Known Universe about it. Apparently she got hit on at lunch the other day as well so we said we should go out sometime looking hot and see what happens.

Perhaps bringing Wordie along with us to scare away the ones that aren't firemen or cowboys.

Don't ask.

It's a long story.

Alright, so that was my day. I'm off to edit some more before I crash. Tomorrow is another half and half day, work branch in the morning with practicum in the afternoon. Looking forward to it.

Song of the day:

Go For a Soda - Kim Mitchell

heard this the other day and went whaaat?

was this a legitimate song? like did it get airplay?

Clip of the day:

Ninja Cat

i'm sorry but this is hysterical.

and i'm pretty sure i had a nightmare similar to that once.

legitimate pre-midnight post, holy crap tag in use.

this one longing to be thinner that one wants to get the girl and do i help them? yes indeed.

Yes, I took the weekend off.

No, I'm not lying somewhere in a ditch.

That's actually one of my favorite home branch memories - as horrible as it sounds, it's funnier now.

Basically my phone went nuts and my alarm didn't go off so I woke up late and missed part of work and since my phone was messed up I couldn't make or receive any calls to call in to let them know what was going on. By the time I finally got there I was like freaking out cause I thought I was gonna get fired and they started clapping cause I wasn't dead somewhere in a ditch.

Thanks for that guys.

Anyway, it was nice to have the weekend off but I'm back with a vengeance.

FRIDAY:

Slept in, it was glorious.

Then went shopping with Oldest Sister for shirts for work.

But we couldn't leave the store with just shirts.

Apparently, every female with a pulse is required to own boots.

It's some sort of contract that we sign when we're born.

And apparently cowboy boots aren't enough so I got another pair that my boyfriend calls "camo" but I call "steampunk". They're awesome.

The best part was that Oldest Sister hated them! And wanted me to get this other pair so I tried them both on and then she was like, ugh. I like your choice better.

Victory!

They have pockets.

I don't know what to put in the pockets but they're there.

And they're awesome so I wore them to work today.

And it turned out much better than that time I wore the cowboy boots to work.

Which is on here somewhere I believe. It just happened to be the busiest day that week so I was constantly running up and down the stairs with the boots, my feet were dead by the end of the day.

But today was much better and these are more comfortable. The boyfriend was stunned. Take that world.

Anyway, back to Friday, so slept in, went shopping, then headed out to see the boyfriend. He changed my oil cause he's sweet like that.

Then we watched Heat cause apparently it's the action movie to kill all action movies and neither of us had seen it.

Literally.

Scale of Awesome says about 6/10. It was alright but it wasn't all that. I did enjoy the cast though, they were good.

My problem was that I fell asleep about halfway through - we didn't start it until 9 since he didn't have to go in to work so it wasn't over 'til 12 and then I didn't get back 'til 1.

Which made Saturday even more interesting as I had to work.

SATURDAY:

So I was in zombie mode for most of the day, plus I felt like crap so it wasn't a fun day. But that's okay, worked 9-6, got to clean the bathroom after someone threw toilet paper all over the place, then came home and watched some Charlie's Angels.

Cause it's about that time again. Every few months I gotta bring it back. Starting with season one again.

I know, I know, but if I start at season one then by the time I get through season three I'll be distracted and then won't have time to watch seasons four or five where Sabrina leaves and we're stuck with crap.

Which I can only assume without verification as even though I own both seasons I've avoided them like the plague.

Also did some homework and lots of reading.

SUNDAY:

aka today.

Wore the boots, they're awesome. Will consider wearing them again tomorrow.

Spent the majority of my day working on booklists as Sundays are slow. Found some more crazy millionaires worthy of my Million Dollar Crazies booklist. Sent a copy to the Queen of Awesome, we'll see what she thinks of my list. I keep coming up with more! Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Howard Hughes, Howie Mandel, Justin Bieber, Leona Helmsley, Robert Klark Graham, Gatsby, Tony Stark, etc. etc. Yes, I'm including fiction too.

Talked to some teens about joining TAB and they seemed pretty interested. Been seeing them around lately and the girl seems like she would really like it so I gave them both applications. Hope to see them in September.

What else?

Oh, had the song Poor Unfortunate Souls stuck in my head all day cause I have copies of Barbarous Souls checked out for my mom and every time I look at my account I see them and for some reason Ursula and her eels pop into my head.

And they drive me nuts.

After work went out to see the boyfriend yet again, we got supper, watched part of the VMA's and then jammed at Walmart buying donuts and checking out their $5 DVD selection.

It was thoroughly exciting, just enough of a break from reality that it was perfect.

So, now I am back and off to bed. More work tomorrow cause there's no rest for the wicked.

Song of the day:

Well, the week rather cause I've been singing it ever since I checked them out for her weeks ago.

Poor Unfortunate Souls - Pat Carroll

the ultimate villain song. her voice is perfect for the role. true? yes!

i haven't seen this movie in a decade and a half, watching it now HOW COULD SHE TAKE THAT DEAL?! seriously?

kind of makes me want to go back and watch some of the other classics. now that i'm much older and a bit wiser i'll probably catch quite a bit more.

lady gaga's outfit reminded me of ariel tonight.

speaking of the VMA's dude!! NSync reunion!!

jump to 9:55 for the awesomeness.

the boyfriend wasn't an enthused about it as i was.

as i immediately texted Instacake.

cause that's how i roll.

and i'm out. hope you all had a great weekend.
