Alright, My Day in 5 Words - ready go:
1. Holiday

1. You would think that after being closed for two days there would be some sort of mad rush today, but it really wasn't all that bad. Just a few carts for bookdrop and a bunch of people on computers. Though it did give me a ton of computer stats. That weren't just basic questions either, it was explain this database and show me how to work it type of questions. Which was okay cause it made the day go by rather quickly. Sort of.
2. So people are loving that my invites are pink. Cause I'm not a pink person. Technically it's just the envelope that's pink. And the inside of the card. And a little on the outside. Whatever. You can blame that on Second Sister who claims not to have realized that they were pink. Sure. I totally believe you.
3. So Mom called all panicked this morning about getting these iPad mini things for Xmas. I don't know, they were on sale so at lunch I jumped in the car, drove across town, went straight to electronics and picked them up. The sales dude was awesome. "$299? I thought these were $599..." These are usually things you should know when working in electronics. Though I was especially amused cause he was having trouble with the scanner and I mentioned something about them being a pain. "You must work in retail." "Sort of." Jumped back in car. Picked up lunch. Ate in the car. Made it back with 5 minutes to spare.
4. I finally heard back from Fearless Leader - and then of course once I brought her up I got hounded for details, but the same thing happens when conversation turns to Slim Shady. Anyway, I was gonna invite her - the both of them actually - to the grad party but they will both be out of town. Bummer man. I miss our Booze Cakes. Go here. Will have to reschedule with the both of them.
5. And then of course instead of working on homework after work - my last assignment ever - I decided to turn on some Leverage and have yet to turn it off. Made it through half of season one. "Alice made a friend." I got time. Isn't due 'til Friday and it's half done anyway.
I'm in celebration mode man. No work tomorrow. Just church, cleaning my apartment, xmas shopping, and possibly going out to see the boyfriend which was the original for tonight but he's busy. So, back to Leverage for me, here's some music for you.

Mahna Mahna
My Day In Five Words
1. Cereal
2. Hamburger
3. Jars
4. Homework
5. Camp
1. So in the mornings I put cereal in a ziplock bag and eat it in the car on the way to work. This morning it fell and spilled all over my car floor. Under my feet where I have to push the peddles so it kept getting all squashed and made it worse. I should have known today would be off.
2. Had a hamburger for lunch. Security guard was jealous. Am excited they're doing daily specials at the place across the street. Makes having only a half hour lunch much easier. And now that my Chinese joint next door is closed - sad day - I actually have someplace to go on days that aren't Thursday. Which is when they used to only do specials.
3. We had our final teen Summer Reading event today at the work branch. Did some jar decorating - painting them and making lanterns out of them. For the paint stuff we put stickers on the jar then painted over them. Then when we pulled the stickers off it revealed the design below. And then the paper lanterns was cool, we took super thin paper and drew designs on it. Then pasted it around the outside so when you stick a light in it the design shines through. Actually had about 11 participate, 1 girl I'd never met before who goes to a different branch normally and then a family that came about 10 minutes before we were about to pack up. Calling it a victory.
4. Homework sucks. But at least tonight I was productive about it. Got done with the "ripped from the headlines" essay about Fifty Shades of Grey. Oh yeah, forum for this one, would you include it in your library? Sadly, even though I would never read it because of its topic and the fact that it's horribly written - or so I've been told by everyone who's read more than a page of it - I did include it in my fake library because my fake library is a public library and not including it in our collection because of its topic would be like saying "we only include items that we agree with, if you want to read that you'll have to go somewhere else". And we can't do that cause we are a public library. Key word being public. As in it's our job to help each and every member of that public that comes in.

Still on the library writing kick.
After that essay came the Peer Review assignment. You know how we have to write up an encyclopedia entry for our final assignment? The one right before that is to edit someone else's. I picked the Dead Sea Scrolls entry.
Oh my god. I know I have grammar issues, but this was like, the person didn't even hit spellcheck.
Awful.
So that was frustrating cause I had to transfer all that into a "what they should fix" entry plus check out every one of the references to make sure they were correct.
Blah.
But it's done and submitted. Now all that's left is the actual encyclopedia entry which I have mostly done and then the source list.
And I think I'm getting this whole Chicago Style thing down. Or I guess I'll know if I've got it down after the essay is graded.
I'm still clueless as to why she picked Chicago when the entire Master's program up until this point has been APA.
So I learn Chicago for a 1 credit course and then go back to APA for my final 3 credit class.
But then I'll be done!! And can't complain about homework anymore!
Well, my homework anyway, but now the boyfriend is thinking about going back to school.
Which I am in full support of! I think it's great and it's a smart idea. However, I'm not so fond of the part where I will not see him at all for 12 months.
But we'll figure it out when the time comes.
5. Ah the joys of Camp J. I would be even more joyful about it if all the applications came in before the July 1st deadline and that the adults would realize that it's a kids camp meant for kids not for them so they shouldn't complain about their assignments.
But that would just be too much.
Anyway, after a half hour vent session to Obi-Wan we have come up with a plan. Though Pastor will be the one to put the plan in motion. I'll expand on that after this weekend's meeting.
Actually excited about this weekend. Going to a Camp J friend's wedding. We used to go to grade school together but she was a few years younger than me. She and Meg were my lifeguards for years and years and now Meg is getting married in November as well. Neither ChickenFro nor Boomer is coming to camp this year so I was forced to find new lifeguards. I'm glad at least one of my teens has training for it.
But the wedding should be fun. The boyfriend is coming along. I didn't even have to ask really, I just subtly mentioned it like half a dozen times and then he said he would go. Score one for the home team.
So today was pretty stressful but now it's over so I'm off to sleep. Need to finish up these final assignments by the end of this week so I can focus all of next week on camp.

Wanna play dodgerock?
Beard growing contest and go!
While I usually hate these commercials - this one included - I enjoy the dodgerock.
Yes, I know, I didn't post yesterday.
Mostly because the 5 words to describe my day would have been negative (minus Volunteer and Hardware of course).
And I don't like posting when I'm like that cause it turns out like one of Meredith's whiny narratives on Grey's.
Even The Bosswomen have noticed I'm not happy.
And apparently they talk about it cause I had one check on me in the morning and the other check on me in the afternoon.
I'm in a slump of sorts.
It's more of a long story.
Lack of sleep probably isn't helping.
So, it's time for a weekend off.
Get out of my head and have fun.
Worlds of it.
Yes, we're headed to KC for more roller coasters.
And guessing from how it went last year it's gonna be 10AM to even later this year because I don't have to work the next day.
Huzzah!
And, as previously mentioned, he is obsessive about roller coasters. Last year we rode like 17 times in a 10 hour period.

Library - the day flew by pretty quickly. Got to see one of my TAB kids and another future TAB kid. Two of my new adult volunteers came in to shelve. And three new aides are starting this week. We lost a few of our lifers, but that's more of a long story.
Laundry - you know how you think you're caught up with laundry so you don't do it for a few days and then you're like crap, where did this come from? I'm there. So load after load so I have clothes for this weekend.
Pack - the question is, what to wear tomorrow. It's gonna be hot, so not jeans. I'm debating t-shirts, it's down to Star Wars or Warehouse 13. Also, what do you do when you're not allowed to take pictures with your camera while riding roller coasters? Buy spy glasses with a camera in them of course! Stoked. Though I'm sure I'll lose them somewhere along the way. If not I'll hit you with some cool videos when I get back.
Camp - got a ton of application forms yesterday and today so I spent most of the night uploading those and sending out confirmation emails. Looking good so far though super short on teen help and female counselors.
Homework - I have a massive paper due on Monday at midnight. I've started on it sort of. Meaning I found sources but done nothing else. Oh, I did clear the topic with the professor. Does that count? I'm thinking of printing off the sources and reading them on the drive out there and back. Then writing up an outline so I can get it done on Sunday when we get back.
and that was my day.
Oh, I stopped for gas so we'd have enough for the trip there.
And I called the Little Shelver Boy my fake boyfriend. But again, that's a long story.
Oh yeah, and I'm watching CWS. Go UCLA!
And I talked to Obi Wan about camp stuff.
And at some point I worked with the new temp and we talked roller coasters. And my family being goofy.
Oh yeah, Wordie and I quoted Monty Python.
"what are you gonna do, bleed on me?" "your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
There. That was my day.

last night I fell asleep at 11:30 - I know!! So early!! I was proud. Yet I was still space cadet in the morning.
tonight I'm posting early so I can print off those sources and then crash.
he says we're leaving at like 8 tomorrow morning.
i will probably sleep on the way there.
then it's fun in the sun. the hot hot sun. and then apparently a bigass moon, which is gonna be super cool whilst riding roller coasters.

My day in five words.

Five words to summarize my day:
Cereal
Library
Baseball
Post
Crash
You have no idea how long it took for me to limit my day to five words.
As boring as it may have been.
You should try it and tell me if it's just difficult for rambly English majors or if it's hard for everyone.
So first there was cereal - which is the norm for my mornings.
Library of course - nine hours of library.
Baseball - watched Bubby play, he rocked it here's right before his line drive to left.
and then watched Indiana lose so I'm officially out now that my backup lost.
So go UCLA!
Post - obviously I'm here.
Crash - next stop.
and that's all I got.
Cause, as said, my day was boring, aside from all the baseball.

Cause, as predicted, I did not go to bed last night early as planned.
So I'm going to attempt it again.
