Happy WMC Day!!
Gonna celebrate by watching my favorite episode after I post.
Yes, it is the show that will never die even though the network killed it.
Get over it.
But right now I'm watching Castle.
Had to see the finale before I went to work tomorrow cause my coworkers watch it.
Not liking how this ending is looking.
Oh.
Okay.
Nevermind.
Now it's okay.
Good.
So I was totally productive today even though I only went in 2 hours.
Did more camp stuff.
Updated software.
Paid my bills.
Got cat food.
Did laundry.
Finished Silver Linings Playbook - the book - and then watched the movie.
Sad it's over but I can read it again if I have withdrawals.
Now it's on to finishing Warm Bodies.
On disc 2 and then checked out the book as well.
The movie was hysterical, the book is pretty funny but very very different.
So I'm interested to see how it turns out.
So this week is the week for season finales.
*spoiler alert*
Tonight was Castle's, it turned out okay, at least I hope so I guess you never know what she'll say.
And we have to wait until fall, that's just mean.
I'm glad he proposed, I seriously thought they were gonna break up cause all the Twitter and Facebook feeds said to watch it with kleenex's.
2 Broke Girls was amusing as always. Glad they're gonna open up another shop and this time it's attached to the diner. Which is handy. And Nugget Buddies!! I remember those. Hurray for Happy Meal toys.
I love that every episode when Jennifer Coolidge first enters the crowd always goes nuts.
But she is awesome.
NCIS is tomorrow. I'm so far behind, gonna have to catch up online before tomorrow's episode.
Or I'll watch it when I go home this weekend, Mom records them.
Yes, I actually get to go home, two weekends in a row. Saturday we're having a camp meeting and I'm Sunday and then next weekend Sunday and Monday we're closed for Memorial Day.
Huzzah!
So yes, I was productive, and watched some finales, and then there was the Voice of course.
Top 12 performed tonight. Here are my favorites.
Broken Wing - Holly Tucker
nailed that one.
The Story - Sarah Simmons
perfect song choice. nice job adam.
Elimination episode tomorrow, the bottom 2 go home regardless of whose team they're on.
They're both in my top 20. I'm worried about Judith. She's my number one but I haven't been as impressed with her lately.
The hype was so high early on cause she was Michael Jackson's singing partner, but now she's just being outshined by like Amber and Michelle and Sarah. To be fair, Adam has a really strong team to compete with and then Shakira's got Sasha which will be her saving grace. Blake has Holly and Danielle is rocking it, seriously, and then Usher has Michelle. People seem to like VEDO. He's okay. I'm really not a fan of Josiah. He's a pretty face but that's it, kinda like Dev from last year. Nice enough guy but there are better voices in the competition. He's made it this far cause he's good looking and he's friends with Usher.
So Usher saves him.
Kinda like the bromance between Adam and Tony Lucca from second season.
But I've already made that comparison.
Sorry.
Moving on.
Today was good.
Worked for two hours at the desk and then upstairs.
Have a really great GoPo that's gonna finish her hours tomorrow. And I have my TAB thing, we're gonna mockup our library golf holes so we know what we're doing day of.
On the other hand, apparently the person that I've been watching for over my shoulder showed up at work today. Thankfully I wasn't there when it happened but since they didn't get to talk to the person they wanted to talk to, aka my Boss's Boss's Boss - OH YEAH, it's gone that far - I'm guessing they'll be back tomorrow.
And I'm sure I'll be on the desk when they get there.
Great.
But it's okay. BossLady has designated her office as a safe space. Meaning I'll be running there when I see them.
Alright, I'm out for the night. Gonna need the sleep to keep up with my teenagers tomorrow afternoon.
Legitimate pre-midnight post. Holy crap tag in use.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

you're gonna miss me by my walk, you're gonna miss me by my talk...
Rollercoaster of a day.
Counted money in the morning, updated the TAB website, worked the desks, interesting conversations about book preferences with Queen of the Known Universe, read Silver Linings Playbook on break, got soup for lunch, watched more Total Wipeout UK, worked more desks, checked in holds, sorted carts, read more SLP on break, then worked desks yet again.
I'm really loving Silver Linings Playbook.
Quote of the Day: "Question Four: When are you going to bring home that broad you're always running with?"
And Warm Bodies.
Oh, did I mention I got that on CD?
So I'm reading SLP during the day but I listen to Warm Bodies on the way to and from work. Right now I'm on disc two.
Book is super different from movie on that one.
As is SLP, but not this drastic.
Like the movie better on that one but that could change as I'm only two discs in.
Both good reads.
And getting me back into reading.
I haven't really read anything that's not class related since college.
Which is ironic as I work in a library.
But see, I'm surrounded by books all day, the last thing I wanna do when I get home is read one.
Told that to my sister who is a pharmacist who says she understands. It's not like she goes home and does drugs.
Anyway, seeing these movies has brought back my urge to read things that aren't textbooks or articles so I'm actually having fun with it.
No, seriously, I think the last novel I read for something other than homework was one of the Castle books.
The second one I think - I own the third but haven't started it - but that's gotta be a few years.
And it's not like I don't read, I can't say that, I do read my friend's work that I edit, and need to work more on that - and I do have a book copy now that she's officially published, but like other than that I'm really lax on my reading.
And I should work on that.
I just have other things going on at the moment.
Well, passed couple years of moments.
With work and family and the boyfriend and friends and classes stuff got back-burnered.
So I'm bringing it back.
Or maybe this is just because the boyfriend is gone and I'm bored so it's temporary.
We shall see I guess.
I have no idea where I was going before this tangent...
Oh right, today, yes it was good. Work was slow but that's fine. After work went out to dinner with the sisters.
Lots of fun, ate some great Indian food.
Had my usual chicken tikka, half of which is in the fridge.
Interesting cause we can have really crappy days and then dinner just heals all.
But we're goofy like that.
Most of the conversations I can't repeat, or won't repeat.
Never boring.
Now I'm back at the apartment with my big fat cat.
He's half asleep next to me. Keeps rolling over and staring at me waiting for me to lay down so he can finally fall asleep.
I'm working on it!
Anyway, I just felt like crap today, thinking it was the weather. Like dead tired.
Helped Superwoman make this blockade thing around the men's bathroom cause they're fixing our usual one and like getting up on this chair and back down was like, okay, don't konk out in front of your boss.
She will take points away for style.
But our rock display did turn out to be pretty kickass.
Dinner woke me up.
Now I'm zonked again.
But with good reason as it is already midnight.
Alright, on to the music.
Well this is interesting...one of my favorite soundtracks has now lead to a music video?! But there's a bunch of controversy around who was the originator.
Anna Kendrick never claimed to be, just throwing that out there.
Here's the progression:
Started way back in 1937, called "Miss Me When I'm Gone" performed by the J.E. Mainer Mountaineers
after that came Charlie Monroe's cover
so you add those to this clip from Full House:
and it gives you this by Lulu and the Lampshades:
then Anna Burden covered it and made it huge on reddit:
and after watching it 50 times Anna did this:
and she talks about that here:
(all worth it for the look she gives him at 1:49)
and now suddenly we're here?
there's a radio version available on iTunes, does that mean it's gonna get air-play?

"say something human....how are you?....nailed it."
Today was crazy ridiculous.
I don't think the library has ever been this busy all day long.
Like there have been times when it's super busy, but not all day long.
Think I had like 2 minutes of silence the entire day.
It was good to have a night of relaxation, met up with the boyfriend and we saw Warm Bodies.
Which Infoman labeled as a "zombie romance" I didn't know anything more about it, other than it had Number Six in it - as in I Am Number Four.
The book/movie.
She's Australian but she rocked the American accent.
It was actually okay.
Not your typical zombie movie, and it had a lot of humor in it.
Scale of Awesome puts it at about 8/10.
Will probably watch it again when it's out on DVD.
After that we watched bits and pieces of Red Tails, Tower Heist and Airplane!
Before he went to work and I had to head back to the apartment.
And I go in early tomorrow for training so I need to konk out soon.
But not before watching The Voice.
I know, I'm awful.
But hey, I only have to be up in 7 hours.
Interesting fact I learned today from a patron - the bandaid jingle - "I am stuck on bandaid brand cause bandaid's stuck on me" - was actually written by Barry Manilow.
His most popular song.
I'd rec one of his but I can't stand anything that's not "her name was Lola...."
So instead you get Queen.
