I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

Like the proverbial cheese I stand alone.

Oh my god did you watch Castle?

I screamed so many times it's ridiculous.

Would've made for an excellent Halloween episode, kind of random to bring it now, but it helped the season go out with a bang.

Next week will be even bigger since it's the season finale.

And the preview makes it looks intriguing. Especially after the conversation they had on tonight's episode.

Finally!

Most likely will suck to have to wait until fall when it picks up again.

I'm assuming it's been renewed for another season.

But I'll have The Closer to distract me.

Though I'm way behind, last I knew there she was just told there's a leak in the department, no idea from then on.

The Voice was great as well tonight.

They're down to the semi-finals so everyone sang, tomorrow one on each team gets eliminated leading to the final four.

I'm guessing Tony Lucca - even though I love Katrina Parker - Juliet Simms - you could tell by the amount of applause - Jermaine Paul - though Erin has grown on me - and I'm hoping Lindsey Pavao moves on, if Christina has a say she would definite favoritism, but I'm guessing Chris Mann will move on and he had a better song then she did.

I'm really really hoping it's Juliet but I'm guessing it'll go to Tony Lucca or Jermaine Paul.

It's interesting though cause it seems Christina really doesn't like Tony that much even though they were on the Mickey Mouse Club together, she thinks the show should be about the voice not about stardom storylines.

Which it should, but she's called it out a couple times now, even tonight when she was promoting Katrina.

Stoked for tomorrow's episode, still gotta buy some of the songs off iTunes to show some support. Tony Lucca and Juliet Simms were the best tonight. Though they're always good.

It's cool that you can vote through Facebook or itunes downloads.

Anyway, slept in, 4-6 at work, was totally out of it as I told Slim Shady I was glad to see she survived Italia. Which I already told her as she's been back since Wednesday. And we sat together at inservice for the majority of Thursday.

Woops.

Remembered another item for my to-do-list, finish editing the stories my friend sent me back in January.

Woops.

Awful editor.

I'm on it though, like 10 pages left in one of them.

Currently I'm watching Big Bang Theory.

Math, science, history unraveling the mystery that all started with a big BANG!

Sheldon is training Penny with chocolate.

I want chocolate.

But I have none.

I'm stuck with cereal.

Not that that's a bad thing.

I love cereal.

The combination of that and chocolate plus apple juice fixes all, but I've posted that already.

Scroll back a few pages and you'll run across it.

So tomorrow is another full day, plus the Voice, but Wednesday I'm going out with a friend to see Hunger Games again, which I surprisingly haven't seen since opening day. You'd think I'd have gone again since I'd talked to so many people about going.

Stoked.

"Oh, big talk for a man who was once treed by a chicken."

I'm out. Falling asleep at the wheel. Well, keyboard.

"Crazy" Relient K cover of Cee-Lo

loving this cd.
Interlibrary Loan man, yeah!

They also cover Bieber Fever, Chicago and the Wallflower's "One Headlight" which reminds me I should go back to Jake/Lindsay depression mentioned here: My Life in Closed Captions: This is a week of my favorite things Day Five: Hob...

Which of course I'm stuck on. Though I have made progress, and figured out how she died.

But it still sucks.

Yes this post was boring.

Sorry.

I'll try to be more entertaining tomorrow.

No Coast, No Mercy.

Yes I skipped yesterday.

And the day before that.

But it wasn't my fault.

I've tried posting this three times now, let's hope this time it works.

Have I mentioned how much I hate this new blogger?

Okay, so flashback to Friday:

Early morning, seminars all day, derby at night, then some crazy old lady convinced me and my boyfriend that we needed to go out after the derby.
But we had fun so it was okay.
Besides, I got her back anyway, check Facebook. I'm assuming she's not grateful that a picture of her sleeping on Easter has surfaced especially after she told me I'd be dead meat if it did.
Bring it, I've got more.
So, inservice.
Basically, all the employees from all the branches meet up at the main library and listen to speeches the whole day.
This year was not so bad, at least the sessions were interesting. Last year everything was aimed toward the new operating system we were about to switch over to so it got old fast. This year I got to learn about future technology aka 3D printers, and glasses that give you directions, take pictures, play music, etc. Plus some genealogy from Sensei my former boss, and  listen to a panel from the Journal Star about reviewing books.
Plus there were a couple major guest speakers, one of them being Mary Pipher who wrote “Reviving Ophelia” once upon a time. She told us a story about being on the Oprah show, apparently the producers told her what her opinions were supposed to be, ignoring her actual beliefs on the subject for dramatic purposes. But she’s stubborn so she ignored them and answered truthfully. She was immediately escorted out of the building after the show and into the limo. No goodbye, though there was no hello either, she didn’t meet Oprah until she was actually on stage being interviewed. So Oprah must be a great actress, it always seems like she knows/gets along with her guests very well.
Anyway, inservice is actually kind of a blast at times, mostly cause I get to see all my friends from the home branch and jam with them. Our new tradition is to head out to this Mexican restaurant during the lunch break, awesomeness.
Though some people still say they’d rather get an colonoscopy than go to inservice. But it’s not that bad, think of it as a nerd convention. All of us together packed into one room talking about library stuff, quoting literature and cheesy library-related jokes.
Plus some funny speakers that lead to a few good one-liners.

Things overheard at Inservice:
-“and now I have time to talk about my cats”
-“anyone want to sing a medley of show tunes?”
-“somebody give me a g”
-“now let’s take some time to talk about why you’re wearing what you’re wearing.”
-“the new paint job - orange meets green meets purple which wouldn’t be possible without the help of our decorator” *insert picture of Stevie Wonder*
After 9 hours of that came the roller derby.

Mad Maxines dominated Springfield 165-97.

Flash Gloria hip-checked the other team's jammer into the scorekeeper's easel and took it down!

Oldest Sister was jealous as I take her kids all the time but she’s never been so she tagged along with me and the boyfriend. I’m turning into a pro at explaining the rules, or I better be as I've taught …at least like 8 people, but that doesn’t include the giant group of my former teachers that all came together a couple years ago.
Definitely worth it.
But then of course people realize how big of a derby nerd I am, quoting their actual names and occupations whilst listing stats and strategies along the way.
Oh well, it’s not like they don’t already think I’m a nerd anyway.
Especially since yesterday I checked out the Spice Girls greatest hits CD.
Yes they have one and it’s awesome.
Though I already own all the songs cause I have their previous albums, well all except the last few.
Like I said, nerd.

BossLady and I were bonding over the Spice Girls, apparently there’s a great band called the Space Curls that sing their songs in German.
It’s highly enjoyable.

Which just reminds me of this time in college, freshman year I lived with an awesome friend of mine from high school and I just remember I turned this next video on Youtube and we were moving her gigantic futon, like giant heavy obnoxious futon, and it gets to the first language she drops her side completely and bends over laughing. Cause she had no idea, just thinking it was the regular version.
Fantastic.
"Girlfriend" Avril Lavigne in 8 languages

My favorite are probably Portuguese and Chinese, though German does have its charm.

So Saturday:

Aside from Spice Girls flashbacks I worked 9-6, watched "Beginners" and "Page Eight" meanwhile uploading all my photos to Facebook. You can probably tell I was watching "Beginners" when I uploaded them as my captions were very much like lines in the movie.
If you haven't seen it you should, it's great.

Anyway, photos.

After months of meaning to do it and getting distracted.

Much like all the other stuff on my to-do-list.

At the moment it consists of formatting that camp song book, which I started uploading in January, coming up with a camp application form before the meeting next week, buying my niece a kick butt confirmation present - I was thinking roller skates, we decided at the roller derby she would rock it. Just gotta come up with a kick butt name. I'm still working on mine, have some possibilities but nothing solid. Or as cool as one of my cousins, another one of my cousins came up with it, his name is Jake so basing it on Jake Gyllenhaal his name would be Jake Gyllen-haul-your-ass-around-the-track go grocery shopping for summer reading stuff, but I get to do that on the clock, what else....meet up with the Library Goddess and her current GA for GA stuff, oh and fill out the official paperwork for that to happen in the first place, and then there's camp

Camp.

And all the planning that goes along with it.

Enough said.

Sunday:

Worked all day with some cool people, uploaded some volunteer stats, narrowed down more stuff for my next booklist, currently I'm jamming out with my big fat cat watching Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated

It's them as teens living in Crystal Cove, teenage drama included, and hysterical.
"The last time you were that polite to me I spent a month locked in my bedroom listening to 'Now That's What I Call Break-up Songs 16'!"

"We've got something from every food group. salty, sugary, jerky and ice cream!"

"What's up with Freddy?"
"Oh, he's just in the zone. It'll pass. If not we'll spray him with the hose."

Highly enjoyable continuation of a classic, I'm diggin' it. This show never gets old.

Time for some Scale of Awesome Ratings:

"Beginners" Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer, Melanie Laurent
The story jumps back and forth between the present and multiple pasts. After his wife dies Plummer's character Hal comes out of the closet. Which is strange as he's been married to a women for decades, but she died so now he wants to live his life the way he actually wants to live it. He meets a guy, Luca from ER which totally threw me off, they fall in love, then Hal gets cancer and starts dying meanwhile Ewan, aka Oliver the main character and Hal's son, is narrating this whole thing whilst living his own life and being horribly horribly depressed because the majority of his scenes take place in the present after his father is dead.

I've probably lost you, sorry, he dies, Oliver is sad, he adopts Hal's dog and meets a girl who turns his life upside down.

Anyway, the monotone narration and random images that pop up on the screen were probably the best part as they were completely random and as I was watching I was also tagging pictures and writing captions so the captions I was writing came out as monotone narration in my head.

Scale of Awesome says around 6/10, I was entertained, I love Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer definitely deserved the Oscar, but it was horribly horribly depressing. Even when it wasn't.

"Page Eight" Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Ralph Fiennes
Basically Bill Nighy's character Johnny is given a secret file by his boss/best friend exposing a huge secret. Then his best friend dies, not mysteriously it was legitimate, and suddenly people are out to get Johnny because of the information that's been uncovered. Though he wasn't the only one who received the file apparently he's the only one being watched, along the way he meets his neighbor Rachel Weisz's character Nancy who's brother was murdered overseas.

I got lost. I checked it out cause it has Rachel Weisz on it and it was about secret agents and it sounded interesting, but it wasn't so much. I mean, there were moments, like many other movies, it did have its moments.

To be fair I was doing about 8 other things at the time so, much like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, I probably would have liked it better if I were paying more attention.

Scale of Awesome says 4/10. If it was better it would have held my attention instead of transferring it onto something else.

So there are those, Scooby Doo gets a 10/10 in case anyone was wondering, and now I'm off to make some food though Chinese takeout sounds really good...

But to me, baby you are the world.

A real day off.

Whoa.
I spent it sleeping in, awesomeness, then watched some Historical Fiction/Fact movies aka J. Edgar and My Week With Marilyn.
Not bad.

Not so fantastic that I want to watch them over and over, but not bad.
Learned a lot, Leo did well as J. Edgar, I was impressed, and Michelle Williams definitely deserved the Oscar nod for Marilyn.

Scale of Awesome puts them both at around 6/10.

After that it was dinner with the sisters and a cousin, lots of fun, got my usual rainbow chicken and fries. But as is usual somehow it always ends up with them giving me a lot of crap.

But I’m the baby so I’m used to it.

Things overheard at the brewery:
“I don’t want a third or a dog.”
“A baby delivered by Sasquatch."
"It’s Dr. Sasquatch.”
“They were midwives.”
"Dr. Mrs. Sasquatch.”
“He changed my oil”
"Dipstick.”

“Help me be less gross.”
Keep in mind we were there for numerous hours so these are just a few of the humorous/awkward conversations brought up at the table.

They all have kids and you know how kids seem to interpret song lyrics differently? Like, they don’t get the references or understand all the words?

Apparently “Moves like Jagger” was turned into “Move my jacket”

And “Boots with the fur” became “Juice with the fur.”

Awesomeness.
Alright, I need to fall asleep in like 2 minutes, long day tomorrow with inservice but the derby’s gonna rock!

“What if there’s a lull?”
“Un-lull it!”
I love GCB, it's fantastic. Catching up on my DVR. But I need to turn it off, sleep!

Early morning tomorrow.

"The World" Brad Paisley

i love this song. he's pretty great too. cool video, minus the girls at the beginning, that's a little random. always thought this song would be awesome to learn to play on guitar. one of many on my list to learn.

That'll be the day.

Does anyone watch Glee anymore?

I was trolling iTunes to look at The Voice singles that were released and where they were on the top charts and ran into a bunch of new Glee stuff.
Surprisingly not so bad. Loving “How Will I Know” yes they covered Whitney Houston. This time just the girls + Kurt acapella. Awesome.
So the music is still great, it’s just the storylines that went to crap.
But maybe it sucks less by now. I haven’t watched a single episode this season. Which is shocking to some as I used to be crazy obsessive about this show and its music.
But then the storylines got too over the top and I dropped it.
Which kind of killed my conversations with my Glee-Loving Boss as it was all we talked about the morning after the new episodes premiered.
The question now is, are people gonna stick around next season when they lose half the cast?
Graduation man, bites for your audience ratings.
The show pretty much revolves around Finn and Rachel, lose them and what’s your replacement exactly?
Curiouser and curiouser.
So, tomorrow off.
Don’t even remember when I had a day off that was in the middle of the week.
Probably back when I was an aide.
Which was like November.
But it was rare I took a day off at all, if I wasn’t at both places I was at least at one, which wasn’t a problem as at the time I really didn’t have a life.
Not that I have a giant one now, but there is a semblance of one at least.
Cause there’s a boy, and there’s family, and there’s camp, and there’s school, and then there’s everything else.
Might actually use some vacation time this year aside from the week for camp. Siblings are thinking of making some trips.

Cause yeah, we're the crazy kind of siblings that actually like spending time together.

Which apparently is rare.
We’re thinking Vegas. That’d be fun. But before that is camping, so yes, camping twice this summer. One time relaxation-filled, one completely opposite.
But that’s what happens when you’re in charge of 100 kids and the adults roaming around with them.
Speaking of, should put together an application form so I’ll have a mock-up for the meeting next week.
And start mapping out skits. Or at least take inventory of what I’ve got, I’ll write the new stuff once I have some idea of final numbers.
Though they’re not really final until the actual day, we’re constantly getting more and more applications until the day of.

Or they just show up.
Which is fine.
Sort of.
Not really.
But we’ll take them anyway.
We don’t want to be the camp that turns away kids.
And they loved the tents last year so if all else fails we’ll expand that way.
I should really finish that song book I keep intending to send out.
I’ve got everything scanned I just need to format it.
Tomorrow.
Oh tomorrow.
Such grand plans.
Sleeping in, as I don’t have to be officially up until 7.
PM.
Dinner with the sisters, woohoo!
Thinking it’s a movie day, I can always have one of those on in the background while I work on the songbook.
I’m thinking J. Edgar. I have that one checked out, pretty sure it’s due like tomorrow. Woops.
I’m there everyday and I still have fines, get over it.
Maybe I’ll watch the Week with Marilyn movie, that one got rave reviews from even my Big Brother coworker, so props to that.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I guess I could love you tomorrow.
Sure, why not.
Speaking of loving, so yeah, the boyfriend must really love me.
Sacrificing going to the races to go to the roller derby with his girlfriend.
I know, must be so difficult for him to settle for watching women in fishnets battling it out whilst he watches on drinking beer.
But the races are big to him, and I’m grateful he cares enough to put up with my crazy instead of watching cars drive around in circles.
Especially if we meet up with my derby buddies, then he’s really gonna have to put up with my crazy.
Nah, we’re not that bad. Just have a good time. Cheer loud and all that. Drink some Pepsi. Yep. Pepsi. It’s totally Pepsi. At least that’s what we said it was when the pictures hit Facebook.
Moving on, I love derby.
Totally stoked.
Gonna crash and sleep in.
Don’t call me before noon! Cause I won’t answer. Sorry.

“How Will I Know” Glee Cast

I guess his sacrificing the big race to go to the derby with me is a big hint.
“That’ll Be the Day” Buddy Holly

When I'm not with you I lose my mind, give me a sign...

I don’t like the new blogger.

Everything is switched around.
Just when I got used to the old one.
It’s like Facebook, why you gotta keep changing. Just stick.
Like Timeline?
Seriously?
Lame.
And weird.
Just weird.
That’s not Facebook, it’s something completely different.
And it takes forever to load everything.
Sorry.
Rant of the day.
Everything else today was pretty good.
Except when it was bizarre.
But not all the bizarre was bad, some was cool.

But other parts of the bizarre were not so cool.
So yeah, pretty good.
That sums it up.
Today was pretty good.
No major problems and The Voice tonight was actually I think the first night in a long time that one of my favorites wasn’t kicked out.
Nice.
So, I’ve picked the final four, right now they each have two on their team, but my guess for the final is gonna be Tony Lucca for Team Adam, Juliet Simms for Team Cee-Lo, Lindsey Pavao for Team Xtina and Jermaine Paul for Team Blake.
That’s my guess.
Even though I’m secretly rooting for Katrina Parker.
She did pretty well tonight, I was shocked SHOCKED that Juliet wasn’t immediately saved, but I guess Jamar Rogers did well last night so he deserved it.
Okay, I’ve hit my Voice rambling limit, as most of you don’t watch it you’re welcome to skip those, though I do have to warn you that they’re gonna be weekly until this thing is over for the season.
Usually I have Castle to follow it but not this week, that’s okay, Adam Baldwin as a guest star makes up for it.

Oh my god, except I kept waiting for a Firefly reference! Seriously, wouldn’t “you’re damaging my calm” be a perfect line for his cop character?!
Okay, not work, not TV, what else is going on.
Um, nothing.
Which is AWESOME!
Did I mention how excited I am to be out of school until June?
Except next week is when camp really picks up so I gotta enjoy this while it lasts.
Like Thursday, day off, middle of the week, gonna sleep in, watch some movies I have checked out, then get some dinner with the sisters for my awesome sister-in-law’s birthday.
Stoked.
I enjoy my siblings, they amuse me. And feed me great one-liners.
And now draw me pretty pictures.
Second Sister attempted “Vikings” on the Draw Something app. That was I think my favorite so far.
I guessed it completely from the letters given to me cause it was like yellow-hat'd people under a boat.
It was awesome.
Should have taken a picture.

Not that any of mine are freakin’ fantastic, as I’m not an artist at all.
Well, drawing-wise anyway.
But I write.
Not this.
Well, I mean I write this too, but this isn’t my writing.
Okay, rephrase, this is not my serious writing.
Not that all my other writing is serious, okay let’s put it this way, this is crap.
It’s fun crap.
And people read it.
My other stuff, which people for some weird reason are convinced is good, I don’t share.
Unless it’s for a class assignment.
Or a Sketch and Edit.
Speaking of, I have a few new ones I could post on here, but I should send them to Sketch first as she would kill me for posting them on here first.
Geez, it’s been a while, I think my last one was like…hm, let me check.
And that was crap.

But it’s fun crap.
Much like this blog.
Which is why they’re on here.
Perhaps I will throw in some writing on Thursday. Make a day of it. After I sleep in. I’M JUST SO EXCITED!
Did I mention I’m not really a morning person.
But you probably figured that out already, I dare you to find one of these that’s posted before 8PM. Or 9 even.
Most of them are like 11:50PM.
Rock it.
What else?
Oh yeah, the Wordsmith came in to work today.
I totally froze.
Gave me an invitation to his graduation.
But it was funny cause he’s physically told me that hell will freeze over before he sets foot into the library.
Like, when he gave me an Xmas present he put it on my car instead of bringing it inside.
Scared the crap out of me in the process.
But still, so yeah, gave me the invitation and then basically ran like hell.

Cause you know, it was about to freeze over, if it hadn’t already.
Crazy.
Anything else?
Um.
Not especially.

Oh, my cat is crazy.
But that's nothing new.

String hoarder.

And some empty shelves.
Which will soon be gone.
Cause they're already to the N's in Biography for the shift, woohoo!

Okay, on to the music.

I’m thinking classic with a twist.

Because it’s just that awesome.
Baby One More Time – Tony Lucca
You can laugh all you want man, but name one other American song that people world-wide can name by hearing just those first three notes.

Frame by frame, to the extreme

My boyfriend jokes about me being a prude so we went to see American Reunion tonight.

This was after my half and half day at the work branch and the home branch – awesomeness.

It wasn’t awful, but as I haven’t seen any of the others there are a lot of characters to keep track of, plus the random extras so there were a few, wait who’s that? moments.

But worth driving out.

Mostly because I got to see him, but the movie wasn’t bad either.

We will have to watch the previous ones as then this one will make more sense.

I do like the actors involved, Tara Reid, Alyson Hannigan, Mena Suvari, John Cho, Seann William Scott though that role kind of typecasts him for life.

After all that I came back and watched The Voice instant eliminations that I had DVR’d, sad that even more of my people have been cut, but understand as this week they were the least impressive.

So, now I’m down to these:
1. Jordis Unga - yes she is my favorite and i've raved about her for weeks so get over it. - kicked out during instant elimination
2. Pip - rockin' the bowtie man - kicked out during instant eliminations
3. James Massone - he's just so good and i love his letterman jackets - kicked out during instant eliminations
4. Tony Luca - former mouseketeer
5. Angie Johnson - aka the marine - kicked out during the battle rounds
6. Jermaine Paul - backup singer for Alicia Keys
7. Juliet Simms - gravelly voice of awesome
8. Adley Stump - country rocker - kicked out on the battle rounds
9. Sera Hill - killer runs - kicked out during the live rounds
10. The Line - killer duo - kicked out during the battle rounds

I’m gonna miss Pip’s bowtie and James’ letterman jackets.

It’s interesting, Christina and Cee-Lo’s teams’ performances are much more in your face dramatic with lots of color and graphics and while Adam and Blake’s are more relaxed. Like last week Team Xtina sang “Fighter” with their coach and they’re all decked out in costumes and dancers all over the place and Cee-Lo’s group did “Dancin’ In The Street” and everything was disco retro while last week for Team Blake they did Heartache Tonight, which I posted, super simple just sitting together minimal dancing, and tonight Adam’s team played together as a band and he didn’t sing a word he just played drums with Tony on guitar, Pip on keyboards and Mathai and Katrina singing.

So now all effort and support and crazy fangirl goes to Juliet Simms and Tony Lucca. Which based off tonight's performances I think they should be safe.
He’s a former Mouseketeer and he re-vamped “Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Britney, loved it. As did Christina. They should have a reunion on stage cause seriously there’s those two plus Britney, Justin, and then you’ve got actors like Keri Russell and Ryan Gosling. Aka Felicity and “you’re photoshopped!”

So apparently I need to train my cat to stop biting me in my sleep. Which is easier said than done.

Any ideas?

I think my sister used a spray bottle and some point with her cat but everything I read online is like super cheesy.

Look the cat in the eye and tell him no firmly so he can sense your disappointment or something to that effect.
"Cartoon Heroes" Aqua

fun one. but most of their stuff is, i don't think i've heard a single serious song come from them.

"For a few to be immortal many must die."

Have you ever had one of those feelings where you're running cause you’re late,
Well you're not really running it's more like jogging,

 But it feels like running,

And the air that fills your lungs is so cold that it makes you feel like you're going to throw up, pass out and/or have some sort of asthma attack?

But of course you can't throw up, pass out, and/or have some sort of asthma attack because you're in class.

And you have to present your final project.

So that would make things really awkward.

Especially for the pregnant teacher in the back row.

So you make it all the way through class,

Present your project in under the maximum time limit,

Jam with your friends for one last time before the summer,

Then make it back home to watch a couple movies you have checked out and THEN end up throwing up for an entirely unrelated reason?

Anyone?

Just me?

Thought so.

It’s just been one of those days, I feel like crap but I took a shower so I’m good.

I mean, I should be celebrating! I’m done! Until June! Woohoo! Huzzah! Much excitement, yeah!

And I ran into the Library Goddess and her current grad assistant in the process.

PS – the current grad assistant, completely professional and capable of great things, her next one? aka me? Not so promising. But I’ll do my best.

Anyway, Woohoo! Huzzah! Done until June! So, in way of celebrating, and also to thin the pile currently sitting on top of the cabinet, I watched “In Time” and “My Future Boyfriend”.

Polar opposites, not only in storyline, genre, and special effects, but also in likeability on the Scale of Awesome.

“In Time” starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, is about a world in which time is the only currency. Once you turn 25 your clock starts running. You have to work to earn more time or you’re dead.

Oh yeah, and it has BBT's Leonard in it as the best friend and Number Four's John Smith as the gangster bad guy around the block.

It’s not like I had the greatest hopes going into it, and dude, about halfway through I about turned the thing off and gave up.

But then Amanda Seyfried shot a cop so I figured I’d have to give it a chance. Cause I like her. Mean Girls all the way!

“Boo, you whore”

Anyway, the second it was over all I could think of was, “Well, that was dumb.” And was forced to put in a comedy to get the whole dystopian theme out of my head.

So I ended up with “My Future Boyfriend” Barry Watson and Sara Rue. Two of my favorite under-rated actors. And the movie was fantastic, as opposed to the tragic blah listed above.

Basically, Barry Watson’s character is an archeologist from the future, he finds a book written by Sara Rue and goes back in time to ask her about some of the concepts included in it, aka love, passion, etc. Did I forget to mention that there are no real emotions in the future?

But it’s a comedy so he comes back, everyone thinks he’s crazy, she works for a paper very similar to the National Enquirer so she interviews him for an article believing this whole time he’s full of crap – as is everybody else – and in the mean time is engaged to this other dude.

But like any romantic comedy, they fall in love and it’s total chaos.

Scale of Awesome says 9/10, made me laugh, made me cry, makes me want to buy it and watch it again which is more than I can say for the whatever you want to call it listed above.

That one I give a 3/10 and that’s purely for the fact that Amanda Seyfried is in it. I gave it a chance, but dude, unless you want to watch Justin Timberlake attempt to be some badass from the dystopian ghetto then skip it man, skip it.

I really did give it a chance, I did, sort of, but then Matt Bomer started acting all serious while JT was acting all fake badass and I couldn’t do it.

The title quote of this post is really all I'm taking away from it.

Quotes of the day:

Alright, tomorrow is a full-day to make up for my weekend “off” so I’m out.

Day Off = Homework + Immortals + War Horse + Necessary Roughness

So this is what a day off feels like.
Huh.

Though it wasn't much of a day off.

Since I put off my homework, no surprise there.

But I did at least start it last night.

Then looked at the clock and said, past midnight, eh, I'll do it tomorrow.

So I watched Just Shoot Me instead.

Then slept in, fantastic by the way, and woke up and finished it all.

EVERYTHING!

Done for the freakin' semester.

Well, aside from class tomorrow. But the homework's done, now I just need to present it.

Then I'll be done.

Til June!

Woohoo!

Celebration mode.

So I watched some fun and exciting stuff.

Cause I have lots of fun and exciting stuff checked out.

Such as:

The Immortals.

I could take it or leave it.

I mean, it was good, loved the mythology aspect of it cause I'm an ancients nut like that, but the storyline was a little eh.

The special effects however, the staging, and the colors used during the battles oh my god fantastic. Like I literally rewound and played a bunch of stuff over. There's this one huge battle scene between the Titans and the Gods where the Titans are all in gray, the building is all in like tan and the Gods are in pure gold and those are the only colors. Well, aside from the bloodshed. Seriously cool.

Anyway, Scale of Awesome says 6/10 because of the storyline. There were a lot of times where I was like, what?

And if you didn't know who the characters already were you were totally clueless, like they never introduced who half the gods were, they just had different head-dresses and Poseidon had a trident, and then there was this seer who was supposed to stay a virgin but since she was the love interest that didn't stay too long, whatever. It was alright, but not something I want to watch again.

However, next up on my list was War Horse.

Oh my god I totally cried.

Turned into a total girl.

It was fantastic. I mean, not the crying stuff, but the movie as a whole.

Scale of Awesome says 8/10. But so sad that I don't want to watch it again.

Yeah, one of those.

Spoiler Alert, if you don't want to know then don't read it.

It was not the storyline that I was expecting. I expected it to be all about the boy and his horse, but then the horse goes off to war without the boy, and then the horse gets other owners, and I mean the title makes sense now, not that it didn't before, but it just wasn't what I was expecting.

In a good way.

Cause I like that they brought it other owners, gave the story more depth.

8/10 definitely.

But so sad that I probably will not watch it again.

Had to turn on some comedy, I got Necessary Roughness from Target on sale, fantastic.

"Terrence King! I dragged my so-called bony ass out of bed and left my kids home with a tattooed man named Xeno who is probably scaring the crap out of them right now!"

Though totally weirding me out cause it has Max Medina. Maaax Medina. Which would be fine, except in this show he's supposed to be some sort of mysterious badass security dude, but since I see him as a high school teacher it doesn't fit.

Typecast I know. I was in high school, now I do it when I watch things.

But I can't help it the red head from RED and the Go Meat commericals will forever be Natalie the obnoxious whitelighter, Jon Favreau will always be crazy Danny the linebacker, Idina Menzel is still Maureen Johnson, Jane Lynch will forevermore be Sue Sylvester and Max Medina will always be Max Medina no matter how much of a badass Navy Seal he's supposed to be portraying.

Aside from that the show is pretty good. She's a shrink who's hired by a pro football team to un-crazy their wide receiver. He can't catch anything so she hypnotherapies him.

They like her so much they keep her around, I'm on episode three at the moment, in this one the team's owner also owns a racecar driver who has panic attacks.

So far I'm saying 7/10, worth persuing, and if it takes a turn for the worse it gets donated to the library.

"Misery" The Warblers
this video seems to pop-up whenever i'm done with a major assignment, not because i'm in misery but because i envy his throwing of papers in the intro. jealous. cause i'd do it, but then i'd have to clean it up.

Now I'm hungry. Post, Eat, Sleep.

Last class tomorrow!

PS - I hate the new blogger. Behind-the-scenes layout is freakin' me out.

I love you more, than I did the week before...

Overheard at the library:

"Does he sleep through it?"
"He sleeps like a moose."
"What?!"

Which led me to my reference fact/or/crap of the day.

Moose sleep standing up.

It's a myth apparently.

They sleep on their stomachs.

From 11:30-5:45.

Yes 11:30-5:45.

Fact/or/crap.

"It's casual-wear that's ruining society!"

Yes, I've changed topics.

That one was Nina Van Horn.

Nothing blows away the depression that is SVU better than some Just Shoot Me comedy.

Not that SVU is bad, I like it, I've gotten 11 seasons through Interlibrary Loan over the past year, but there's only so much of it you can watch. Especially since today's weather was so gloomy and depressing.

Carter and I are jamming, he took multiple naps on my lap tonight while I was sketching out my presentation plan. More on that tomorrow so I'll have all Saturday free, huzzah!

"Alcohol" Barenaked Ladies

love the melody on this one.

"American Woman" Lenny Kravitz

debating which version i like better of this song, though you can't go wrong with the classic.

Tomorrow is an all-day as well, but it's a Friday so afterward I'm gonna rock it.

But my cat needs food, I'm out of pop, and then there's the homework. So it won't be completely relaxing.

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you're so tired in the morning that you say to yourself you need to start going to bed earlier?

And clearly it's not happening as I'm still awake past midnight.

She's a good-hearted woman in love with a good-timin' man.

Homework bites.

I finished the majority of it, just gotta finish the lesson plan and then I'm DONE!

With the class!!

Well, after I go there on Sunday, but then I'll be DONE!!

With the class!!

Until June!!

It's all very exciting.

Know what else is very exciting?

I Love You Phillip Morris.

Actually it's not so exciting.

I can't make up my mind about it.

The movie is on crack, one minute it's hysterical comedy, then next it's horribly depressing.

Based on a true story of a prisoner who falls in love with another prisoner, but it so happens that the first prisoner is a conman, and then they when they get separated he keeps breaking out of prison so he can be with the other prisoner.

Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, genius.

Yes the Grinch and Obiwan Kenobi.

But it's like, one minute he's hilarious comedic, and then something horrific happens and it just makes you sad.

Scale of Awesome says 6/10, not anything too fantastic or that I'll watch again, but it's okay I guess.
I have a whole stack of DVD's I gotta watch in the next few weeks. But I have Saturday off so as soon as my homework is done and posted it's movie marathon. Stoked! First day I've had off and have no plans whatsoever.

Today flew by, this whole week has, nonstop. Got more space for the young adult area, massive display which rocks as I didn't have much before.

More supplies stuff, used the guillotine to chop up some application forms.

That thing is mad wicked man, but gotta keep both hands out from under it because it would totally be me chopping limbs off. Infoman pointed out the Bones episode in which somebody used one as a murder weapon.

Fantastic.

Alright, exhausted.

Here's some music

"Good Hearted Woman" Waylon Jennings

classic.

I'm out!

there's gonna be a heartache tonight, a heartache tonight i know...

Do you ever wonder if construction workers put out those orange cones just to mess with us?

Like, "you thought we were gonna fix this road, but instead we'll just leave the cones here for a month. Psych!"

Sometimes I'm curious.

And then I just want to ram the cones.

Like bowling, you know?

I am the only one that has the urge to run them over?

Gonna have to make progress soon, after all there's only two seasons in Nebraska: Husker Football and Road Construction. Mix those and you have a lot of unhappy tailgators.

Today was crazy.

BossLady: "Where's the stop button?!"

We needed a moment of peace and silence but didn't get it at the front desk.

Where's the pause button when you need it?

So there are these chocolate covered jellybeans at work, they're fantastic. I thought they were raisons but it appears not to be so.

Will have to find some for my apartment, fantastic.

Sorry, random.

"you did what? with who? for how many jellybeans?"

High school phrase. Dig it.

Falling asleep so gonna post the rest fast.

Tomorrow is the interview with the communications student. A little nervewracking which is stupid cause it's not me who should be nervous, but I'm gonng make it up as I go along since they didn't give me anything beforehand about what to talk about.

I hope she brings good questions.

Also tomorrow is more homework. I actually did a bunch tonight, but I HATE LESSON PLANS! Part of the reason I dropped the Ed program and just went with English.

For our last assignment we have to come out with a lesson plan to teach people the Dewey system or Library of Congress system.

As we use Dewey I'm going with that.

I'm come up with the objectives and then come up with a powerpoint and attach it.

Yeah.

That's my plan.

Take this job and shove it.

No idea where that came from but I like it.

So I'm watching NCIS, ps the boyfriend thinks I watch too much TV. Which intrigues me cause it's not on all that often, sure I have certain shows I tune in for, mostly The Voice and Castle and the rest of the nights I have other stuff going on so it goes to the DVR.

Then I watch if I get time.

Like now.

"Beer nuts."
"Fire retardant."

NCIS.

Jamie Lee Curtis used to be a redhead, so I guess that counts as Gibbs rules.

His original wife, aka Castle's ex-wife, is now the ranting investigator on Scandal. "He's anti-choice, pro-gun, hates the gays and likes it when kids pray in school."

Love it.

Another thing I love?

Samuel L. Jackson and Zooey Deschanel iphone commercial. So fantastic, I want one!

I wonder if there's a download app I could isntall on my ipod. That'd be nice.

Song of the night:

"Heartache Tonight" Team Blake

excellent dance moves my jordis there in the end. made me totally sad to see clips of her performing in front of a crowd they went to visit and she was still in it at the time as it was taped prior to eliminations.
i like blake cause it's simple and classic, where as adam's is so loud, cee-lo has a flair for the dramatic and with xtina there are people everywhere.
I mean, they're all fantastic, I like each style, but Blake's is just laid back.

PS- Christina Aguilera and Team Xtina is on Jay Leno.

Pre-recorded so it still has Ashley DeLa Rosa and Moses Stone.

Here's your sign.

Okay, probably one of the worst nights on The Voice.

I was totally stoked all day for tonight's show, you can ask my coworkers. I rambled to multiple of them on multiple occasions and then got hit with, "oh yeah i told you already" multiple times.

Stoked.

And intrigued by this whole instant elimination thing.

Okay.

Not only were the performances crap, they decided to boot off the two best performers.

Genius.

Sorry.

I'm only slightly bitter. Mostly because he kicked off Jordis, but also, Jesse Campbell? Seriously? He was the guy to beat! Even Adam said that!

Though I loved when the camera panned over to him after Xtina booted him off and Adam's jaw just dropped.

Tonight was sad. No outstanding performance that made me run to itunes and buy it.

The only good performance of the entire night came from Team Blake when they sang the Eagles "Heartache Tonight" and you can't even get that off itunes.

And while I love Maroon 5 because of Adam and James Valentine - one seriously awesome Nebraskan - eh. I mean, their song was alright, but again, nothing that made me run to itunes and download it.

Sorry.

Bitter.

But can you blame me? I mean, Jordis was...Jordis! Really?! Why?!

My top ten list has basically been decimated. Let's see who I've got left.

1. Jordis Unga - kicked out during instant eliminations
2. Pip - still rockin' the bowtie man.
3. James Massone - still jammin' in his letterman jacket.
4. Tony Luca - still a former mouseketeer
5. Angie Johnson - aka the marine - kicked out during the battle rounds
6. Jermaine Paul - no longer just a backup singer for Alicia Keys
7. Juliet Simms - still has the gravelly voice of awesome
8. Adley Stump - kicked out on the battle rounds
9. Sera Hill - kicked out during the live rounds
10. The Line - kicked out during the battle rounds

Honorable mentions include: Katrina Parker, Jessie Campbell, Jamar Rogers, Kim Yarbrough and Ashley DeLa Rosa.

So I guess 5 out of 10 isn't bad, and when you think about it only one person can win anyway, but I was still going with Jordis man, she rocks!

Now I just got Juliet and the boys. Though she's a rocker hardcore with her gravelly voice so maybe she'll pull it off.

Sorry, this is negative. I didn't set out to be all Debbie Downer.

Let's turn this around.

What went right today?

Hm.

Well, it was a Monday.

But I got through it unscathed.

So that's always a bonus.

Did a lot of supply stuff, more in store for that tomorrow.

Learned I'm, well, I'm not sure what I am.

Reliable?

Perhaps?

Superwoman is letting a chick interview me for a class. So either that's props to me, or she is looking to dump it on someone. Haha, I'm going to go with the first one.

Hoping I've proved myself after working here almost 2 years.

Holy crap, it's gonna be two years in like a month.

Cause I graduated on the 8th, started at the home branch on the 16th and the work branch on the 24th.

Dude.

I'm getting old.

I'm tired, thinking about going to bed early.

Didn't sleep well last night.

Some idiot at my complex went psycho middle of the night, banging on windows and flinging out a lot of 4 letter variety. Was tempted to call the cops but didn't want to get involved.

This is just getting worse.

Where's Keanu? QUICKSAND!

I feel like I need a burst of comedy to make it stop, MAKE IT STOP!!

This post is entirely too depressing and that's not my style.

Well.

Often.

It's not my style often.

I think. Hope. Wish. Dream. Whatever.

Comedy.

What sounds good?

Let's go with some good ole down home country.

Inspiration: "if you've been on television more than five times describing what the tornado sounded like...you might be a redneck."

You Might Be Redneck - Jeff Foxworthy

if somebody yells hoedown and your girlfriend hits the floor!

Here's Your Sign - Bill Engvall

you get your truck stuck?

"Here's Your Sign" song version

love travis tritt.

And here's one of these: AFV omg, too funny.

Oh yeah, and reference fact-or-crap of the day: Every US President with a beard has been a Republican.

See?

There we go.

All better.

I'm OUT!

"man you had soul!!"

Okay the boyfriend knows me too well already.

Got a text from him telling me to stop watching SVU and do my homework.

Well, I did half of it.

I turned off SVU and turned on The Voice.

After I looked over my assignment.

So I did homework too.

Sort of.

But had to watch the Kathy Griffin episode of SVU first, oh my god so funny.

Hitting on Benson and Cabot, giving crap to Stabler, she was a lesbian activist.

Anyway, back to the Voice. I'm watching the second season cause I can. And I want to see how many people turned around during the blind auditions for the people still in it.

Good god, I just want to smack the model. Sorry, fast forward.

Does that make me a bad person? She killed Tina Turner. Well, not literally. But dude. No one should kill a Tina Turner song. Makes me sad.

So, sitting here as I fast forward I think about all the crap I have to do this week.

Fill out some paperwork for grad school, finish cataloging the five books assigned - well, assign them call numbers at least i have the rest done, add to the group's cataloging page, and come up with a lesson plan on Dewey - visual representation included.

Not to mention work 40 hours, continue on camp stuff, and attempt to have a life as my boyfriend probably wouldn't be a fan of me being busy constantly.

Should be fun.

I'll keep you posted.

For now here's some music, it rocks so you should check it out.

I'm out for the night, have a good one.

"Paris" Ashley de la Rosa - elimination save song

i love :31, excellent dance move there.

"Find Your Love" James Massone

dig his voice. "and he's white!" "man you had soul!"

Jordis is still my favorite but these were rocking as well.

Note to self, eating a fruit rollup after some sour cream and onion chips does not taste good.

Saturday, April 14, 2012

hey baby won't you look my way, i can be your new addiction...

So you can add tornado warnings to the ever-growing list of awkward situations in which I've met my neighbors.

Spent some time in the basement.

With the cool kids.

And there was a cat.

And it was cool too.

More calm than mine, I left him in my apartment.

Does that make me a bad mother?

Leaving my cat in my apartment when there's a tornado warning?

I would have taken him if it was serious, but it was north of town so I figured it was okay.

Anyway, I'm back now and watching Morning Glory. For some weird reason I had an urge to watch it. Perhaps it's because I've spent the last hour watching the news. Weather-central.

Morning Glory.

Fantastic movie.

Diane Keaton, Harrison Ford, Rachel McAdams.

Awful morning news show that she turns around, it's quite funny.

Uh-oh. Sirens.

Police ones this time, not the storm ones. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they came back.

Get to spend more time in the basement with the cool kids.

But for now I'll keep watching "at least we're not Daybreak"

Today was good, slept in woohoo!

Went to the volunteer banquet, got lost along the way so I had to call Superwoman,

"are you driving a red car?"
"yes"
"do you see me waving?"
"yes"
"good then you found it, i'm going inside"

It was pouring.

It was crappy weather all day.

Hence the basement dwelling.

But the volunteer thing went off without a hitch. And they had really great snacks. Catered man. They rocked.

And I got to jam with my coworkers from other branches. And heard what's in store for me this upcoming year for grad school. Basically no sleep or free time whatsoever. Should be fun.

Fantastic.

Hm.

I'll figure it out.

Anyway, lots and lots and lots of volunteers all in one place at one time so it was mass hysteria, but good mass hysteria.

Cause sometimes mass hysteria can be good, right?

Basically a bunch of library volunteers gathered at this recreation center and were honored and got free stuff and free food and speeches were made, BossLady made one of them, she was a "speech-er" and got to hold a giant check. Squirt and I took a picture with it, it was mildly exciting.

So weird seeing Harrison Ford as this old news anchor dude. Just watched Star Wars the original trilogy so it's amusing to see how he's aged, but still his characters remain the same. Arrogant, wise-ass, scoundral types, but it works well for him.

Alright, think I'm gonna grab a snack and then crash.

Guessing the storms are passed as it's been an hour and no sirens. Well, weather ones anyway.

So, I'm out. But I'll leave you with some good music. And yeah. That's all I got.

"Everybody Talks" Neon Trees

diggin' the drive-in dive.

i absolutely love these guys. "animal" was great, but the rest of the album was really catchy as well, had to buy it off itunes.
plus their christmas song, first new original christmas song that i can actually stand!! like, artists these days try too hard trying to write ones they think will become classics and just fail epically, you know? but this one, is just simply fantastic. and classic. go here: I just want you, oh darling, I just want you...

or just check it out here:

yes, christmas in april.

just go with it.

"Wish List" Neon Trees

i still love it. and am jamming to it. in april.

i'm a nerd. get used to it.

OUT!

More tomorrow.

"Who put a shark in my mailbox?"

Okay, giving the Scandal pilot a fourth chance.

It's excellent!!

Except I keep falling asleep.

I start it too late.

But tomorrow I don't have to go in until noon so I can stay up later.

Showed up today and checked my mailbox, like any other day. And there was a shark eyepatch in it. I was completely lost, couldn't figure out where it came from. Asked everyone I ran into if they knew anything about it and got nothing. Then finally recognized the handwriting on the interdepartmental envelope and it hit me. Queen of Awesome. and I should have known cause it was awesome. So it could only have only originated from her.

Squirt and Bubby's play was tonight. She was the fairy godmother attorney and he was the big bad wolf on trial.

Both had solo's, his was a rap, hysterical. They rocked it.

Reminded me of when we did the Trial of the Big Bad Wolf. With the "weasel sidestep" and the forever famous "yeah yeah the jury...yeah yeah the jury..."

19 years later and it's still stuck in my head.

Before the play was a dinner and a silent auction - i got cookies and a chair it's exciting - before all that was work, during that it was mostly desk stuff and some circ room check-in. Plus registering for inservice.

Oh inservice.

Last year someone said they'd rather have a colonoscopy than go, but it wasn't so bad.

Plus this year Sensei is presenting so I gotta go to that.

Ohhh, so that's why Olivia left the whitehouse and went on her own...got it.

Good show you should check it out.

I wanna be a gladiator in a suit.

Other than that today did some homework so I'm good for a couple of weeks, however I have a huge project due on the 21st that I haven't started yet. Woops.

On to tomorrow which is volunteer recognition, gotta dress up and all that. Catered food of awesomeness, plus some prizes and all that for the TAB kids.

Should be fun.

I know, I'm sorry this is a boring post. I'll make it up to you tomorrow.

Wait, she cleared his reputation but that's it? I guess it's not their job to figure out who the real killer is. I'm used to watching crime shows, it's messing with my head.

Song of the night:

"Forever and For Always" Shania Twain feat. Alison Krause

love the harmony on this one.

I feel like I'm forgetting to post something. Drove from home to library. Bought new headphones. Shark in the mailbox. Went to the church for the play. Ate supper. Watched them dominate in their roles, I think Squirt enjoyed calling her brother names and telling him to shutup - she was the prosecution attorney so she was all over it. Came back to apartment turned on Scandal. Posting.

Still posting.

Continue to post.

Til I'm done.

Which is now.

Night!

Camp Season Has Begun

First camp meeting of the year.

Yep, camp season has officially begun.

Tonight Pastor, Jim and myself put together a basically "coming at you" letter that gives them a heads up about the dates and theme and all that. And to watch their mail for upcoming application forms.

Totally intense man, worked for like five minutes and then we got stuck cause my computer's not hooked up to the copier but Pastor's is but Pastor was gone at the moment so I ended up drawing random pictures of the board for Homey G-Wigger for when she gets back. Basically I drew all of 2G aka Blackstone - pastor - Dash Riprock - Jim - Homey G Wigger and then Choot 'em Lizbet - me. And we're all posing as normal so pastor and G wigger are golfing normal though I should hvae drawn her driving like a maniac. Jim lost his ball in the tree and is whacking the tree with the club and I'm on the ground next to the golf cart cause she's thrown me out of it two years running.

Anyway, camp, right.

We're going with "The Ultimate Transformer" Pastor found a cool passage to go with it, it should be fun. Very different compared to last year's theme of "Guiding Light" which was fantastic as it was all soap opera-esque and I'm the skits and worship person. Plus registrar. Plus administration. Plus plus plus... But I got Liz with me for the music part. Apparently she's working on songs already, woohoo! She writes one every year. Last year we attempted to but it didn't turn out as good as hers do.

And we cheated, used a song already in existence and added a verse to the end of it. That way the melody was already written and all we needed was one verse. Fool-proof!

Anyway, so we came up with a coming at you flyer and stuff some envelopes. Gotta love those labels you can print out on special paper and just stick them to the envelope, those are fanstic and make our life loads easier.

No hand-addressed envelopes which is good cause my handwriting is atrocious.

As I'm falling asleep while I type this I'll keep it short.

Tomorrow is work plus Squirt and Bubby's trial of the bad wolf play. He plays the evil villain - two years running woohoo! - and she plays some sort of fairy godmother. Should be fun.

Then Saturday is the volunteer recognition banquet which I gotta go to as the TAB kids are going. Think it's basically about the awesomely catered food, haha no, it's a great way to show appreciation cause some of these volunteers dedicate a good chunk of their lives to do it.

And that's my ramble nation for the day. Tune it next time for family anecdotes and humiliations.
