I could write a blog. I have thoughts.

**Invisible Milk Jug Dance!**Invisible Milk Jug Dance!**

So we decided to leave tomorrow morning instead of tonight which means I actually have time to pack and sleep and shower and all that. Which is good, cause I kept putting it off. Like, I'll pack last night! Nope, do it in the morning. Then I woke up this morning and I'm like nope, I'll do it after work. It's after work...so I should pack. Cause I'm definitely not going to do it tomorrow morning!

Today was one of those. As much as I wanted to go to bed early last night it didn't happen. And I tried to post but it wouldn't let me so you're getting today's and yesterday's. But I separated them to prevent confusion.

My brain was fried by 5. Unfortunately I worked until 6! But we sent out all the food drive stuff and she sent out emails to all the staff giving them a heads up since it starts tomorrow! Then it'll be game time! Well, next week it'll be game time! When we start the competition between branches for loose change. We're sending empty milkjugs to all the branches and seeing who can fill it with the most loose change by the end of the donation period. Maybe they'll get into it and maybe they won't. We'll see. But we still need the milk jugs and Fearless Leader aka my partner for this whole thing said she was going to get some tonight and I was supposed to continually remind her about it so she wouldn't forget. And, her brain was fried around the same time I was, and, because I'm kind of a goofy person I came up with this invisible milk jug dance and continued to do it around her until she would smile. And now I'm texting her the title of this post over and over until I get confirmation.

So the wedding is Saturday but we're leaving tomorrow and everyone at work was teasing me all day about the need for pictures because I'll be in a dress and cowboy boots. Apparently I need to bring back pictures. And I was like um, no. But now Superwoman and Boss's Boss's Boss are saying it as well. So I'm toast. Boss's Boss's Boss told me today she had faith in me. I felt special. And Superwoman says I'm doing good. So the day was good up until my brain was fried. After that it was just a lot of dancing. Which I guess was fun too.

Songs tonight since I'm feeling goofy and dancy:

"Mahna Mahna" Cake - Star Wars Version

love how the sound effects match up with the clips. super cool.
this song is also in my head a lot at work, but it's mostly the original muppets version.

aka this.

mostly when i'm shelving in the kid's section.

"Tonight Tonight" Hot Chelle Rae

the second appearance of the summer song. good jam out material. plus i like the video. even though it makes the lead guitarist look more like the lead singer than the actual lead singer.
i enjoy the zach tattoo. that's fantastic.

Alright, gonna finish packing then turn on some Closer and konk out.

This is my last post for a couple of days, hope you guys have a good weekend and if I don't post behind then a Happy 4th of July!!

PS - Just got confirmation on the milk jugs. I can officially stop dancing. Well, at least for the next few hours, once the wedding reception starts who knows...

Tell them I'm Defying Gravity

I'm gonna keep this short because I need to konk out soon. So today was all over the place. Usually this day sucks, for the past couple of years anyway, but today turned out okay.
Shelved like a maniac again this morning, worked at the desk and on food drive stuff in the afternoon then hit up a Saltdogs game tonight. Sad day that we lost by 1 but it was still a good game. And I got to jam out with my nephew J who's a total goofball.

Quotes of the Day:
Oldest Sister: "I like First Sister better than Older Sister."
Me: Take it up with Customer Service."
mwahaha.

J: "Run! It's Godzilla!"
the other team's right fielder was like 7 feet tall.

Songs that were stuck in my head throughout the day. I'm sorry they're both from musicals but I'm a musicals kind of girl.

"Defying Gravity" Wicked - Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth

It was those last notes at 4:30. Over and over and over. Not the rest of the song, just those notes. Oh man. All day.
This song was seriously awesome live. Highlight of the whole musical.

"Windy City" Calamity Jane - Doris Day

childhood favorite movie. still love it. I think I sing this on average about once a week while I'm shelving. I have no idea why it keeps popping up but it does. Sometimes it drives me bananas but most of the time I just go with. I mean, it's Doris Day. Come on.

Drapes, Fireworks, Hairless Cats, Flex Seal, CWS, Music Overload

Dear Blogspot,
Today I was a Ninja of Awesome. I was a kickass shelver this morning - shelved for four hours straight while avoiding the mass of children that had congregated in the middle of the library to watch a musician. He was pretty good actually but now I have that "green grass grows all around" song stuck in my head. Ugh.

Just wanted to let you know that my Mom is pretty much awesome. Today, we bought drapes. Yes, after living here for over a year I'm officially sick of waking up to the sun at 5AM. So she bought me drapes. Plus the curtain rods. Now we just gotta get the maintenance dudes to install them. They are also pretty cool guys. Then, I went fireworks shopping while she got my oil changed - also her idea. And then, I hit up the McDonalds drive-thru right behind her and I went to pay for my pop and the chick gave me the weirdest look ever and said, "Um...the lady in front of you paid for yours. So, you're good to go." and I was "That's my mom." and the look on her face became like one of those epiphany looks "Ohhh! Okay!" So I called Mom and she said when she said that to her the chick probably thought it was some pay it forward kind of thing. But seriously, the look on her face was hysterical. So yeah, my Mom is awesome.

And, speaking of mothers, got to see my dorm mom today! She loves me. Bought some fireworks and stayed under 100. Which is impressive for me. I know that that may seem high to you but I go all out. When I see the fireworks tents go up I'm like ecstatic. It's like when they start selling candy canes. I'm addicted to those things and stock up. I still have 2 boxes in my cabinet. But yeah, fireworks! Totally stoked! Before we used to do this big block party thing at Oldest Sister's place but then they moved so since then we haven't really found a permanent replacement. This year we're going to Second Sister's house. I think we did that last year as well. Maybe that'll be our new place. Dad is making steaks. Or so I've heard. I told Oldest Sister that she has to make frog-eye salad - anyone else know what that is? it's fantastic - because she owes me. Even though she doesn't really. Or she could just teach me how to make it. I don't think I could burn that. But you never know, I did burn grilled cheese. Go here: My Life in Closed Captions: Sketch and Edit Make Grilled Cheese

Another highlight, I pulled into my parking lot earlier today and saw this plastic looking cat in a windowsill sitting like stock still. And I was like, "I hope that's fake, cause if not that's a really unfortunate-looking cat." And then....it moved. So someone in my building has a really unfortunate-looking cat. One of those hairless cats, you know? And I love cats, I am a cat person. Even though mine bites me. But hairless cats just freak me out. Plus it kinda reminds me of that episode of Friends where Rachel gets a hairless cat because her grandma had one and it's like vicious so they give it to Gunther.

Dude! I want Flex Seal! It's rubber in a can! You could like make anything waterproof. And the second can's free!

Sorry, more ESPN commercials. Maybe tonight I'll dream about building a raft with spray-can rubber. That Alec Balwin thinking I'm Jesus dream was just plain weird.

I'm sad that the CWS - that's College World Series, not Carpooling With Santa *cough*SecondSister*cough* might be over tonight. Even though I want SC to win it. It would be super cool for them to win the last game in Rosenblatt and the first game in Pseudo-Rosenblatt. Yes, Pseudo Rosenblatt. Because TD Ameritrade is just too long.

So, it was a good day, which is funny because the next few days for the past couple of years have kind of sucked. Long story. But we need some good jam out music for a good day.

"I've Had the Time of My Life" Glee Cast Version

Wow, Sam with short hair. Retro.

"Forget You" Glee Cast Version

Is it weird that my favorite Glee cast member is a guest star? Holly Holiday is my hero. Seriously. Constant Ninja of Awesome.
and yes, I know I've posted this more than I've posted any other song. Want me to post the other 2 I post more than any of the others too?

Why not.
They're good dancing tunes. Well, the first one is. The second will be more of a cool down I should go to bed thing.

"You Drive Me Crazy" Shakin' Stevens

He's Welsh. And it was the 80's. Deal with it. I love it!

"Reflecting Light" Sam Phillips

Cool down time. It's in my top 10. Pretty sure these last three are all in my top 10.

Gonna finish the game then crash.

OUT!

And all you're ever gonna be is mean.

You know what's worse than Wendy's new natural cut fries? Cold Wendy's new natural cut fries. What's with this healthy crap? Fries aren't supposed to be healthy. We know that going in. Fry is in the freaking title. What's healthy that's fried? They make deep fried beer now. Not sure how that works but sounds intriguing.
Oh well, they still got the frosties and the chili so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Actually that's what Grams and I lived on for a summer when I was staying with her. Cause I can't cook and she wasn't allowed to. It was an interesting summer. Luckily the cool aunt was always around when needed. Plus the bookstore aunt brought us this awesome microwaveable bacon so we could make bacon and tomato sandwiches. Not BLT's. Cause that would imply that there was lettuce. Is that just a my family thing? That it's just a bacon and tomato sandwich? Probably.

OMG! So I've been having the weidest dreams lately. In one of them Alec Baldwin thought I was Jesus. And at some point I was wearing a crown of thorns. The only logical explanation for that is that I watched the "Judas" video by Lady Gaga right before I went to bed and I've watched nothing but ESPN all week and that freaking Alec Baldwin credit card commercial runs every five minutes.

Today's Highlights:

-Got a package in the mail from an old friend! Huzzah! Warper Tour pics from back in '05. Gonna have to share a few with you later when I get them uploaded. Totally stoked!
-I talk to my dorm mom twice a year. Once when I call her to see when her fireworks stand opens and second when I see her at the fireworks stand. So, today when I called, the first thing she says is "Tomorrow!" Definitely headed out there between shifts tomorrow! 4th of July and Xmas are my favorite holidays. And I splurge a bit for both. Totally stoked! I got some already today on sale and I'm gonna go through inventory tonight to figure out what I gotta stock up on tomorrow.
-Oh the joys of camp. What started out as camp files and updating ended in cleaning the church basement since it flooded. My brother, the saint, came on the run to help. But we did get done what we needed to do and we'll meet up again in two weeks when I've gotten all the application forms. And now we have fun codenames. Which will be revealed later on.

Aaannd on with the show as promised. Four more and then I'm done.

Book #9 - "Dirty Little Secrets" by CJ Omololu
Everyone has secrets, but Lucy has a big one. One that, if someone even entered her house, would blow up in her face. Her mother's a hoarder and has been for some time. So what happens when something tragic occurs? Does Lucy face facts and go get help or does she try to take care of it herself?
Scale of Awesome says 7/10. I literally had to shower after this book. And that's as much of a summary I can give you without giving anything away since the event took place like only 10 pages in. But seriously, I mean I know that my parents and myself and my family hold on to stuff. But if it ever gets that bad, please say something. Seriously.

Book #10 - "The Unsinkable Walker Bean" by Aaron Renier
Walker Bean loves his grandpa who just happens to be dying. He's dying because he has this haunted skull that's supposed to be in a cave with witches. If it's returned to their cave he will be saved so Walker takes the skull and tries to return it to the cave. On the way there he makes friends with pirates, avoids his father who wants the skull for himself and tries to keep the skull a secret.
Scale of Awesome says 3/10. I'm sure it would be entertaining for a young adult boy since it's a graphic novel and the coloring is awesome but the storyline is just confusing. And it cuts off so there's supposed to be a sequel. I'm still lost.

Book #11 - "Wicked Girls" by Stephanie Hemphill
This story follows the Salem Witch Trials and the group of girls who's lies started them. Each page is basically a different journal entry by one of the girls - they kind of alternate - and it's completely in verse.
Scale of Awesome says 7/10. It's actually pretty clever and since I'm kind of obsessed with the whole Salem thing it was hard to put down.

Book #12 - "Out Of My Mind" by Sharon Draper
Melody is handicapped and spends her life in a wheelchair. And she's brilliant but she can't communicate so people underestimate her. Finally she gets this computer than can talk for her but are people going to like what she has to say?Scale of Awesome says 5/10. I was totally into this book until the ending. Complete buzzkill and killed my SOA rating for it. And I'm sure that's exactly why she ended it that way, because it makes you think. But it was totally mean cause it was the last book I read the whole semester. And I started with Revolution which was this mind-blowing book. Like I said, total buzzkill.

Songs for tonight:
"Mean" Taylor Swift

diggin' it. love the dudley do-right aspect.

"The Cha-Cha Slide" DJ Casper

big fan of this one throughout high school and college
love the video cause you've got all generations covered. i'm gonna make sketch dance with me like that when we're in the nursing home. i mean, when we're not racing scooters. cause that comes first. scooter jousting. we've got big plans. watch out world.

Tomorrow's split shift plus FIREWORK SHOPPING! and just got a phone call from Oldest Sister who's using me and making me go to the Saltdogs game on Wednesday - long story - you know, you're lucky I don't have a life outside of work. I could have plans..... right.

Sunday, June 26, 2011

well they said she died easy of a broken heart disease as i listen through the cemetary trees...

OMG patrons. This weekend was just weird. Which strangely is actually becoming quite normal.

One of the regulars went off on me about stuff and because I love my job, I just sat there and took it. I had to walk it off later but I sat there and didn't say anything. I actually had a whole reply in my head about libraries being there for people to better themselves. We're here for entertainment, we're here for research and we're also here for when you can't afford anything else. Which is true for a lot of people in that neighborhood. But, since I love my job, I smiled and walked it off.
Whatever, day's done. I'm passed it.

Now I'm watching Swamp People with Dad. Think I'm hooked. "Shoot him Lizbett!" Maybe I'll get Dad a Swamp People shirt for his birthday. I'm sure Mom would love that. Or maybe a coffee mug. He'd use that. Before this was Ice Road Truckers. Or IRT. Does it seriously need an acronym? Really? The chick trucker was pretty cool. But I still can't even think about the show without hearing Victoria's voice in my head.
go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-mYkJIcn8c

Me: "Who has that many spice bottles?"
Dad: "Mom."
Swivel Store Organizer is only 19.99. Huzzah!

Alright, commercial break is over. Joe's mad cause his stepson Tommy slept in yesterday and they're playing catchup. Troy is letting Liz (he calls her Lizbett when he's yelling at her to shoot a gator) call the shots on where they go this time. Junior and Willy are stuck in a bunch of weeds since the water level went way down. That's basically the highlights so far. and OMG! Swamp People has a blog. gotta post it. That's fantastic. http://swamp-people.blogspot.com/

"He Wasn't There" Lily Allen

one of my favorite singers and I like the album version of this song but I love this live one! fantastic. seriously. the guitar and piano are awesome.
"and everyone said you have to give him some time...and i'm glad that i gave it to him cause now everything's fine..."

"One Headlight" The Wallflowers

wrote a story based on this song but never finished. maybe i'll post that later as well. actually i think i've already posted a portion of it earlier. maybe during favorites week. i'll find it. My Life in Closed Captions: This is a week of my favorite things Day Five: Hob... there.

tomorrow is all camp all the time. so much for a day off. i'll keep you posted.

ps- yes i know i was supposed to finish the rest of the reviews on those books 9-12tonight but i dont have them with me here. will do it tomorrow night.

Saturday, June 25, 2011

don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.....

Alright, four more for ya:

Book #5 "Shipbreaker" by Paolo Bacigalupi
Nailer and the rest of his crew are shipbreakers - they scrap old ships and sell what they can. A hurricane hits and stalls all work. Nailer and his friend Puma are out searching for food when they discover a huge ship overturned. They go inside and start grabbing everything of value, but what happens when they find a girl barely alive on the ship. Do they kill her and make a profit or save her and risk losing everything.
Scale of Awesome says: 7/10 I don't think I explained it very well but I was actually impressed by the story even though I don't know much about ships.

Book #6 "Payback Time" by Carl Deuker
Mitch is the high school newspaper's star reporter. He's all about the news. But his senior year he's reassigned to the sports section. He used to play football so he's not completely clueless but he hates the assignment because all the coach wants him to talk about is their star quarterback (who just happens to be Mitch's ex-best-friend). This becomes difficult when Mitch and his photographer Kimi Yon become intrigued by the backup quarterback. He throws and plays better than anyone on the team but when it's pointed out to the coach the player starts playing worse to avoid being detected. Why doesn't he want the coach's attention? Why is his past so mysterious? Mitch is intrigued.
Scale of Awesome says 6/10. Quick read, a lot of sports stuff, but I kind of figured out the ending really early in the book and I just wanted to get to that point.

Book #7 "The Lost Hero" by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson has gone missing. Completely vanished. Meet Jason, wakes up on a bonus, no idea who he is, apparently has a girlfriend named Piper and a best friend named Leo. Oh, and they happen to be demi-gods. One of the gods has stolen Jason's memory and is holding it hostage because she's been kidnapped and Jason has to be the one to save her. Zeus has closed off all contact from Olympus so who else is there to assist him on this quest other than Piper and Leo.
Scale of Awesome says 9/10. I listened to it on audio and while the narrator was annoying at times I was so deep into the mythology aspect that I rarely even noticed him. An excellent story, seriously.

Book #8 "Zombies vs. Unicorns" edited by Justine Larbalestier and Holly Black
Okay, I've rambled enough about this book already but apparently I was supposed to post my final version of the booktalk. So here. Read it or skim it whatever.

There have been many great debates over the years. Obama vs. McCain, Pepsi vs. Coke, Edward vs. Jacob, but the one debate I want you to focus on today is the debate of all debates, the quandary of all quandaries: Zombies vs. Unicorns.

This novel is a collection of stories about, you guessed it, zombies and unicorns. Team Zombie is led by Justine Larbalestier and the team leader for the unicorn squad is Holly Black. The book goes back and forth with a story about a zombie followed by a story about a unicorn, lather rinse repeat.

Many aspects of Zombies are covered, their love of brains, their strong devotion or hatred for their loved ones, their ability to travel in packs and stare at you, their cold hands, and their undead-ness. There's even stories about zombie children!
"But there was another voice in my head, a quieter one way in the back telling me to leave. To get out of the house and away from there. To go back to into the rain. To hitchhike to London or starve or even just call home. And while I can still assign blame I want to make sure you know. This was all Franklin's fault."

They've got Unicorns covered as well. Their ability to heal, their draw to virgins, their desire to help baby unicorns, their love of chocolate milk and you know that big spikey thing on their foreheads. There are even stories about the depression that can go along with eternal life and the violence of becoming a killer unicorn. Surprisingly, some of the unicorn stories are even more violent than the zombie ones! Some stories are serious and some are parodies. This is more of a parody.
"'What does being a virgin with opposable thumbs?' she said.
'Nothing!' the unicorn said. 'But will anyone else in the herd listen to me? Of course not! They go off and grab the first thirteen year old who coos at them and then it's all *insert girly voice* their purity will lead the way...blah blah blah... Lead the way to a whole bunch of dead baby unicorns maybe. I want a little more competence in my heroine.'
'Um, I'm drunk and sleeping on a bench in central park,' Alison said. 'That meets your criteria?'
'Hello!' the unicorn dipped his horn and hoisted the tangling sleeve from her wadded up jacket. The one she had been using as a pillow. 'U.S. Marines?'"

So, do you like brains? Would you like healing powers? What's it gonna be? Team Zombie or Team Unicorn? Read Zombies vs. Unicorns by Justine Larbalestier and Holly Black and choose your side in the debate of the century.

Scale of Awesome 8/10. Okay so this book was seriously gruesome. And I'm not even talking about the zombie part of it. That was graphic but the unicorns were gruesome. The part I gave you was parody but duuuude. Like seriously. For more rants and ramblings on ZvsU go here: My Life in Closed Captions: sickness, bee stings, greek mythology, zombies, un... or here My Life in Closed Captions: Impromptu speech-writing

"FINALLY! signs of intelligent life from inside the Dear Jane Gang!"
-name that quote.

I love that Provensa brings Flynn a balloon when he's in the hospital that says "It's a girl". Pure awesomeness.

"SALSA!"

love captain raydor at 2:35, she says it that way in the final cut as well and now that's the only way i can say it. love it.
"it was a hilarious robbery."

Two versions of an awesome song.

Grad School Verdict + 4 Reviews

Well, the final tally is in with the verdict 1,029 points out of 1,030 points possible. And I was doing so well up until that last submission! Messed up on a citation - big surprise there - but was a total pro up until then. Out of the like 20 something citations, no wait it was 5 citations per book cause you had to do one for the book, one for the author's website, 2 for published reviews and then one for a book like it. So 5 per book and I read 12 books. And had a perfect score until the last one. Man. Grad school. Just... You know... One point, that's just... mean. But I'm done for the summer and I have a new summer song which surprisingly hasn't driven me nuts yet as pop-y as it is. I got sick of Whine Up about a month in.

But I'm done! Cause now I have my final grades, sent in my thank-you's, all that's left now is to write the reviews, oh wait I haven't called my mother...give me a minute.... Called my mother, she told me to celebrate so huzzah!
I'll watch the CWS, route for SC and drink something. Like a Mike's. If I have a Mike's.
*celebration ensues*
Moving on.

I told you earlier I would hit you with the book reviews once the class was finished. Then I got busy with other stuff and after that I just didn't want to do it, but now I have time. There are 12 books, but there's no way I'm reviewing all 12 now. I'm thinking 4 per day. It'll give me something to talk about for the rest of the weekend.

Okay, here we go.

So Book #1 was "Revolution" by Jennifer Donnelly.
Basically, the story is about Andi, a student about to graduate high school. Her brother is killed, her mother goes crazy so her father decides to take her to Paris. Her father, a famous geneticist, is there to test a heart that people claim to be the heart of the dauphin of France. The dauphin of France was the son of the King and Queen during the Revolution. His parents were beheaded and he was imprisoned so the people could live in a democratic world no longer ruled by royalty. While Andi is in France she discovers a diary in an old guitar case that belonged to Alex, the official companion to the dauphin. Alex took care of him, entertained him, and after he was imprisoned tried to free him. The story bounces back from Andi's life to Alex's journal entries. As Andi gets drawn in by Alex's story she notices things in her world start to overlap with Alex's. She must know whether Alex was able to save the dauphin or if it really is his heart that her father is testing.
Scale of Awesome rating: 10/10 - The book is great if you're a fan of historical fiction. Donnelly does a great job of explaining the French Revolution as she's telling the story. I actually researched it after I was done with the book because I became so interested. You learn about it without feeling like she's drowning you in it. I was very impressed.

Book #2 - "Hold Still" by Nina LaCour
Caitlin is the main character in this book. It starts right after her best friend, Ingrid, commits suicide. She doesn't understand why, she has a lot of rage, and then suddenly the summer is over and she has to go back to school and face everyone. Then one day she finds Ingrid's journal under her bed. While reading the journal she begins to understand not only about Ingrid but about herself - as cheesy as that sounds. It's a good book,
Scale of Awesome says: 7/10 - It's a really quick read and actually really different from what I'm used to reading so at first I was resistant. After she found the journal it was hard to put down.

Book #3 was "Bruiser" by Neal Shusterman
This book is told from many perspectives, it kind of bounces back and forth. Tennyson and Bronte are two siblings growing up and going to high school. The book starts just as Bronte starts dating this guy that everyone calls Bruiser. He's big and awkward and doesn't talk to anyone. After finding out that his sister is dating Bruiser, Tennyson decides to follow him home finding an uncle who beats him, a fears-nothing-cause-he's-young brother, and a dead bull. In their front yard. After helping him to dispose of the bull - so glad he only gave us the before and after of that part - he and Bruiser become closer and he begins to notice things. Like, why all of his injuries just suddenly don't exist around Bruiser. I can't really say anything more than that without giving anything away, but read this book. Because it's fantastic.
Scale of Awesome rating: 9/10 - I loved this book! It's funny, it's mysterious, and it's a quick-read. What more can I say?

Book #4 was a Golden Sower nominee "Extra Credit" by Andrew Clements
Abby is awesome at rock climbing. She is not, however, so awesome at everything else, say school. She's failing. And they're going to hold her back. Her only option: extra credit. The teacher gives her choices and puts them in a hat, she pulls out the pen-pal option aka write to a different country back and forth with a pen-pal. This is how she finds herself in contact with Sadeed who is from Afghanistan. Sadeed is the most qualified student at the school her letter was sent to. He knows English so he would be the one to write her back, except, it's improper for a young boy and a young girl to write back and forth in their society, so he writes what his sister says instead. After getting tired of being the scribe he decides to write his own letter and send it along with his sister's. Then Clements throws in some cultural differences, there's drama, and that's all I'm gonna give you cause it's a short book.
Scale of Awesome - for me I'd say 6/10 but it would be a perfect read for a younger adolescent who's wanting more to read than just basic chapter books. Super quick read with big font and not so many pages.

Cool Aunt and I are sad since Vandy is toast. They lost to Florida this afternoon. Total downer man. No more "Black! Gold" this season. Although I may continue to text her that randomly throughout the summer as it is rather amusing. Now I'm saying South Carolina. It would be cool for them to win the last game at Rosenblatt and the first game at the TD-whatever-I'm-still-going-to-call-it-Rosenblatt stadium.

Okay, I have to say I'm really enjoying these Super Cuts commercials on ESPN. I think they're fantastic.

and Esurance

"Raise the roof 1999." that's our victory dance at the smaller branch.
I'm all about raisin' the roof.

Songs tonight:

"Barbara Ann" The Beach Boys

gotta love it.

"That's How Country Boys Roll" Billy Currington

they love mama and jesus and jones...

and yet "Run, Joey, run, Joey, run...." is still in my head. ugh.

OUT! Go SC!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

You say that I've changed, well maybe I did. But even if I changed, what's wrong with it?

Third Eye Blind is wicked sweet. Scroll down for a super cool video.

So, I'm watching the Closer cause the game was totally depressing. I was hoping that Cal could pull it off and de-throne Virginia but nope. Now they're going home. Sad day. Oh well, Vanderbilt's still in it. Still wearing my kick-butt bracelet. They're gonna pull it off. Tomorrow afternoon is the big game against Florida - and I'll actually be around to watch it, huzzah! then Tomorrow night it's Virginia vs South Carolina. And I guess I should go for South Carolina since I kind of went for them last year. Until I picked UCLA. and then they beat UCLA. Whatever, go Vandy! I'm all about the "Black! Gold!"

Early morning today. Went to a Food Bank breakfast kickoff thing, as I'm co-chair for that this year. Duuude, I was not expecting there to be that many people there. This thing is like huge. And nerve-wracking. I'm just glad I got Fearless Leader on my side. She's got a plan. I just drive the truck. Which was like huge - thanks to the kickbutt bro-in-law OH! and I was totally up before my sister. Which never happens. So I gotta put that in here cause it won't happen again. Anyway, driving this big truck and then when I get back in my car I was like I felt like...you know when you switch cars and everything just feels different? Like you have to press the breaks harder on the truck than you do in my car. Which I didn't realize until I was back in my car, then I felt like I was slamming on the breaks even when I just tapped them. But I'm good now. Life is back to normal. Or as normal as my life has been as of late.
Where was I going with all this? Oh right, so we hit up the breakfast, got our posters and barrels, delivered them all - forgetting that the libraries don't open until 10 so we hung around outside one of the branches for a while, haha.
Now we're working on marketing stuff aka where to put barrels, how to advertise for them (posters, maybe a promo on the website) and then putting together a competition between staff at the branches. I'll keep you posted as progress happens on that one. Should be interesting.

Songs tonight:

"Never Let You Go" Third Eye Blind

love the live version - one of their kids is playing with them, too cute.

"Sixteen Military Wives" The Decemberists

funny video.

Tomorrow's halfday, huzzah! Thinking of writing a little more then crashing.

Black! Gold! Black! Gold!

Okay, so the thing about filling out forms is that if you want your child's name to be spelled right on their return letter/nametag, you should probably work on your handwriting so that it's legible on an official form. Cause really. Some of these are questionable. And I know the names of most of the kids so usually I'm able to figure it out, but this year there's some new kids - which is great - but I have no idea what some of their names are. Cause the handwriting is worse than mine.
I have a major need for counselors. As of now I have 3. Total. And the deadline isn't until the 1st of July so there's time but still... I actually get applications up until the day of camp itself so it'll be fine. I still would rather have more now.

So I'm all for Vanderbilt. They're currently beating North Carolina 5-1. My final prediction was Vandy 6-5. And this is the bottom of the 8th so there's still time. But Cal, with their true cinderella story, is quickly becoming my number two. Kept alive by donations and then making it to the CWS, that's impressive. I dunno what'll happen if they make the final two.
This game is pretty much a rematch of what we saw when we were there. Only this time the loser goes home instead of just to the loser's bracket. And it's funny because I can recognize the cheers that are going on back and forth between the fans. There's a lot of "Tar! Heels! Tar! Heels!" and "Black! Gold! Black! Gold!" (which is super amusing to text back and forth with the cool aunt btw) but there's also the general admission section specialty of "Tar Heels Suck!" which was rather amusing, even though it's insulting. When we were there it was a dude standing on his chair counting to three and then they'd all yell it. Usually right when a NC player went up to bat, or right after a big "Tar! Heels! Tar! Heels!" cheer.

Quote of the day:
Straight from Superwoman: "(insert my name) takes precedence since she has more points than you."
I had to talk to her about food drive stuff but she was already talking to a coworker that's way up in the chain of command compared to me. I felt special. For like a second, then she said she wouldn't say that again.

Song of the night:

Adele "Rolling in the Deep"

awesome voice in an awesome video.

Out early, gonna be a super long today tomorrow. Food Drive stuff in the morning then work all afternoon. I hate early mornings. gonna have to stop for coffee.
I tried to get in touch with city people all day to request a van - we're going to be driving to almost all the branches to drop off barrels for food donations - but everyone I called was either on vacation or not answering. So I called my sister and brother in law. They pretty much rock. And I'm gonna borrow their truck. Huzzah!

More on that tomorrow.

OUT!

ps - watching the Closer season six dvd, fantastic. love every scene with them in the new building and all the frustration that goes along with it.

Return of the Writer-Monkey

Castle-ism... It was either that or "Frog and Toad are Friends". yeah, no reason behind that one other than I saw it on the shelf today. At least this title is relevant.
Writer monkey has returned with a vengeance. New ideas for old stories and I'm breakin' 'em out. I guess that's what happens when I'm shelving and get ideas...now that I have free time! Or I do for the rest of the week. Monday is camp central and after that all my free time will be gone. So, I'm enjoying it while it's here. Watching CSI and the CWS - picked up The Closer season six from Target as it came out today. Lovin' life. It's awesome. Next week that may change.

For some weird reason getting inspired to write apparently doesn't tranfer to here. Cause I have no idea what to write about tonight. Split shift - between I got my license updated, yay dmv?, hit up target for groceries, laid around with my big fat cat, then went back to work. And my phone is all wonky. Those are my highlights.

Gonna write/watch CWS 'til I konk out. Totally sad Vandy lost this morning. But both Texas teams are headed home. When we were leaving it seemed to be drunken Texas fan central. And though some of my best ex's are actually from Texas I still will never root for them. Texas that is. A&M is okay on occasion. Except when they're beating us even though we should have smoked them. Guess we don't have to worry about that so much anymore with the change in conference. Go Huskers!

One for tonight:

"Killing Me Softly" the Fugees

definitely in my top 10 favorite songs of all time.

And because I find these amusing:

Hangin' Out.....Down the street.....The same old thing....We did last week....

TV show review: Happily Divorced - It's like the Nanny! If Mr. Sheffield decided he was gay 18 years into marriage and suddenly all their children just didn't exist. Then he decided to give his wife advice about dating other men.
"What am I trying to say on a first date?"
"That you want a second!"
Okay so it's really nothing like the Nanny other than the fact that it's written by and stars Fran Drescher. But it's actually pretty funny, I'd give it a 8/10 on the Scale of Awesome.

So, the weekend is officially over and I'm back at work for the week. I got to sleep in this morning, only at one branch in the afternoon then attempted to watch Vandy vs. Florida until I lost signal...then when it came back there was a weather delay. After that I just turned on CSI. Seasons 1 and 2 from Target for $12. Awesomeness. Now I'm watching That 70's Show on nick@nite. I really need to get thru the dvd's I have checked out but for some reason I have no motivation. Think I'm going to just turn them all in tomorrow and start off with something else.

It's just so weird having all this free time again. I don't have to run home just to read and post stuff. Huzzah! It's that bizarre no homework yet really no camp work since I can't really do anything until I get more application forms. That won't last. I give it a week. The deadline for the forms is July 1st. Even though we get them way after that.

Tomorrow's split shift. Gotta run errands between so I'm off to bed.

Duuude, That 70's Marathon! 10/10 on the Scale of Awesome. "Niiice burn!" Donna was pretty much my idol. Plus Laura Prepon as Nikki Heat - pure genius.

Yeah... still gonna call it Rosenblatt. + 0-6, 0-6, 0-0-0-6!

Yesterday. OMG. Woke up 6:50 AM went to bed 1:30 AM.

Started off completely awesome, had my iced coffee and even though it was raining the weather turned out perfect. The breeze kept us cool and the clouds covered up the sun. Plus Cool Aunt got us awesome seats! George W! Bush threw out the first pitch for the new stadium. That's right, opening game of the college world series in the new stadium! Vanderbilt vs. North Carolina, we went for Vandy since they're the underdogs. I think I'm going to pick them as winner overall. Or at least cheer for them. Virginia will be fun to watch as well and I'm looking forward to watching A&M tonight to see if they're any good.

But we went early enough to enjoy breakfast, hit up all the giftshops, find out seats, explore the new stadium - even got a commemorative coin which is super cool. After the game/more shopping we headed back here. I took a shower, and Smo and I hit up our 5 year class reunion for some high school fun. Soo much fun. Pizza and beverages galore.

Lots and lots of quotes from yesterday. I'll divide them up.

GAMEDAY:
Cool Aunt: I like pasty eggs.

this was at breakfast, we went to a brewery and enjoyed mimosas... yes it was only 9AM but it's never to early to drink when you're celebrating.

Cool Aunt: Just sitting here, enjoying my hummus.
yeah, K caught a foul ball before the game even started. it was coming straight for us and I yelled ball! it bounced and he caught it. it was awesome. but Cool Aunt was not paying attention at all as she was enjoying her hummus on pita. yes, they have hummus on pita at the college world series. they also have an entire booth dedicated to gluten-free food, i was impressed. anyway, we decided then that we needed a codeword for when a foul ball was headed straight for us. after a few suggestions we went with Rosenblatt! or...
Us: BLATT!!
for short. we yelled it many times.

Cool Aunt: This snow cone is very enjoyable.
she was really diggin' it.

Crowd: "BLACK!" "GOLD!" "BLACK!" "GOLD!"
cheering for vandy. we decided we could yell out other colors with them and they wouldn't notice. RED! BLUE! GREEN! WHITE! but we all went for Vandy so we were glad they won.

Me: You're the tar to my heels.
that's all i could come up with for the tar heels. cause really, what kind of a mascot is tar heels? commodores? totally cooler. i'm going Vandy all the way!

then there was a reference question:
Where in the Sam Hill did the phrase "What in the Sam Hill" originate?
wikipedia lists many theories. i want the truth!

Overheard at the class reunion:
Smo: I could have taken off my clothes and no one would have noticed!

that's more of a long story. gotta love a small town with no traffic.

Smo: You're younguns! I own this song!
smo to her kids about baby got back.

Smo: Show me your T-Magic!
taylor martinez was at the bar we went to and she debated running after him.

Em: You cook when you get married. They forgot to tell me that.
em's response to me asking how married life was. so funny to have a reunion and half our class is married or engaged.

Juwanna: That's why I don't know anything about babies, I ran after you!
okay, so basically, i'm the queesiest person on the planet. if i even hear you talk about blood i run to the bathroom, pass out, hit my head on the sink and wake up in the dorm mom's apartment. proven fact. so, when our teacher decided to show us a video on birthing during Life Skills class, I ran to the bathroom, and though most people are just used to it, my roommate decided to run after me to see if I was okay. now she blames me for her lack of birthing knowledge.

Morning after was all Smo:
-Where's my toe nail?... Well, it's better than where's my pants.
-I have frogs in my purse.
-Why is your car hood up?

Work today was good, and flew by, but I'm thinking I'm going to nap/watch CWS for the rest of the day so I can be back to 100% tomorrow. Even though I'm done with grad school and don't have to spend every other minute reading I still gotta get going on camp stuff. So today I sleep, the rest of the week is going to be skits, schedules, volunteers, assignments, and more skits.

Songs for this weekend are from the game:

"Boogie Shoes" KC and the Sunshine Band

totally jammin.

"Sweet Caroline" Glee version, go Puck!

love it. they also did some sort of glee at the white house thing so here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YputDVO0ywY&NR=1 you can see michelle obama dancing to it with the girls. awesome.

Alright, out for the weekend. Gonna watch the game and take lots of naps.

Buy the Boy a Blender.

keeping this short as cool aunt will be here in 8 hours and I should sleep. she promises coffee, huzzah!

Quotes of the day:

Wordsmith: When do I get a blender?
W's Mom: When you get married.
Wordsmith: How do you expect me to get a woman if I can't blend a margarita?

best line ever. and so true.

Me: There's nothing subtle about a horse.
cause really there isn't.

Today:
Spent over an hour packing up 16 boxes worth of donations. I was totally exhausted all day. Because that was just the morning. After work was baseball, Saltdogs game with Wordsmith = awesome. totally fun, had my margarita and my funnel cake. excellent.
Currently watching I Am Number Four as I crash but I turned on the for hearing impaired thing and it's this dude narrating everything that's happening. totally awesome. "Now, at the farmhouse..." awesome.

Songs of the night: Theme: RAIN! weather as of late. it's lightning even now. it better quick this tomorrow. at least from 9-5. it can rain after that.

"Rain" The Wreckers

if you were to ask me who my favorite band is i would probably answer The Wreckers. Michelle Branch teamed up with Jessica Harp is just plain awesome.

"Umbrella/Singin' in the Rain" Glee Cast

love their mashups. and i was totally not a fan of this song originally, umbrella i mean. but they make it bearable. plus hearing all about the behind-the-scenes stuff about dancing with those umbrellas, that would be madness.

Tomorrow means College World Series and I'm totally stoked. We're leaving super early because we're all about the experience, walking around and seeing all the booths and stuff. Buying souvenirs. Plus we can find parking.

Summer Songs

I'm done! I'm free! Papers are written and posted, books are read - yes all 12 i literally read them all - Wikis are up and running. And I'm done! Free! Until August! With school anyway, now it's gonna be camp central!

Okay, so summer song - aka the song that plays first after I'm released from school. I can't skip it for the rest of the summer, cheesy but whatever. Skip back a few posts and there's an explanation. Been doing it a couple years now.

2008:
Kat DeLuna - Whine Up

this was the originator back in college. i heard it and the concept stuck.

2009:
Will Dailey - Tomorrow Still Comes

live version aka impromptu singing at a party. nice.

2010:
Avi Buffalo - Remember Last Time

not the official video since they don't have one. they do have videos of them singing it at clubs, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaqnNFBcaws

Aaannnd drum roll - summer song for this year:
2011:
Hot Chelle Rae - Tonight Tonight

and yes, that is chord overstreet in the video. i totally flipped.
gonna be an interesting summer.

Okay, and just as an extra tonight - Nic is here and introduced me to the awesomeness that is Judas by Lady Gaga.
Totally sweet video you gotta check it out.

Imagine the 12 disciples and Jesus in a biker gang. That's what this video is.
Although I have no idea what's going on from 3:45-4:20. No idea.

and because i'm still laughing....
Golf Boys - Oh, Oh, Oh

Join Ben, Hunter, Ricki and Bubba on the golf course. hilarious hick boys rapping. yes, this is actually how i golf. ask nic. we name our clubs, drive crazy in golf carts, get lots of drinks from the drink cart lady, and always have to have a woohoo in our backswing. "that one sucked." "there was no woohoo in your backswing."
is that a jonas brother? it looks like a jonas brother.

Poetry in Motion

Okay, gonna keep this short as Ziva is turning against me, even as we speak. I can feel the time ticking before she'll restart this window. Ugh. It's making homework really frustrating. Will fix it later. But I did finish both books and do all the homework associated with them. All that's left is the paper reviewing the teen program. And I already went to the program so I just have to go over my notes and figure out strengths and weakenesses and all that jazz. Another fun thing to think about tomorrow when I'm shelving. Other than the Dewey Decimal System I mean. Actually I find being a shelver very helpful when I work at the other branch because I know the call numbers/authors to most of the sections/books. It makes things easy to find.

So, tomorrow I'll write/post the paper and hit you with my summer song. Which I'm really hoping doesn't suck. Cause once it plays it can't be skipped for the rest of the summer. Like I said, I'm a nerd. go here and scroll down to the paragraph about the music recs for the full story: My Life in Closed Captions: sickness, bee stings, greek mythology, zombies, un...

I finished book #12. I read 12 books in 6 weeks. Went to classes, did homework to go along with them. Went to a teen program, interviewed teens... I should feel accomplished. Right? But all I feel is like this just... headspace. I feel awful. That last book was completely depressing. Complete buzzkill to my joy of being 99% done with homework until August. I can't even like ugh.

But today was fun. Hysterical at moments.
Quotes:
Me: Does the coffee machine in the staff room actually work?
Fearless Leader: DON'T DRINK IT!
i almost fell over laughing. apparently it's bad. good to know.

Little boy: Is there a baby in your belly?
John Boy: Nope, just fat.
Little boy to his father: Dad, are you fat?
i was laughing about this one for a while. mostly because he asked john boy and as john boy is actually a boy boy i'm not sure that's possible. unless he was like arnold schwartz-howeveryouspellit in Junior. or that dude on grey's who was having a hysterical pregnancy. "Psych!" "Surgical!" just for you sketch.

Songs for the night:
I'm in a very Evanescence kinda mood but as I used Amy Lee's theme for yesterday I will have to hit shuffle and find something else for tonight...hmm...

"She's a Bad Mama Jama" Carl Carlton

yes that is his real name. and i think i'm going to claim Aquarius during this video and not participate. that's the joy of being born on the crossover between that and pisces. although i do enjoy his dance moves on the catwalk.

"Play that Funky Music, White Boy" Wild Cherry

funking out in every way huh?

There. Anti-Headspace music. Much better. Now I can sleep.

and usually the whole book changing your state of mind thing can be a good thing - like revolution was totally awesome and i felt all smart cause of the history stuff. zombies vs unicorns was a little wacky but still amusing. the depressing ones are the ones that totally cling to you the longest though. messers-of-minds. seriously.

you never call me when you're sober...

Time: 9:34PM
Location: Couch
Music: "Back to Black" Amy Winehouse - love it
Attitude: Tired

So, that whole going to bed early last night thing? Totally didn't happen. I did however spend the majority of the night writing some more. Which I enjoy more than sleeping. So that's okay.

And today was good. I finished book #11 and am almost halfway thru with #12. I think after I'm done with all of them and the paper I'll have to do a massive book review post. I don't think I've mentioned the titles really other than Zombies vs. Unicorns, the Percy Jackson one or the awesomeness that is Revolution. It's not that they weren't good I was just going to do a review at the end of each week and didn't get around to it. So, end of this week you'll get to read all about the 12 books I had to read in 6 weeks. huzzah. But they were good so it was worth it.

Split shift with Space Cadet is always fun. Tuesday nights, woohoo! It's the beginning of an era - well, until August anyway. Then they'll switch us up and put me with someone else. If I'm still there. There's this whole budget thing going on. Yeah... pretty sure I'm going to get cut or transferred. As I am lowest on the list cause I'm one of the most recent hires and all that. But I'm not gonna go there. Cause I like my job. And whatever they decide I'll deal with.

Tomorrow is full-day so hopefully I'll be able to get through some more of the book tonight and all I'll have to do is finish it and the wikis. Thursday I can write the paper and finish whatever's left but Friday is Saltdogs again and Saturday is College World Series! Woohoo! So I getta get this done as early in the week as possible. Like I said, if I have the motivation, I could be done tomorrow. With the class. Since we don't have a physical class on Saturday it's just posting the assignments. And I'd be done until August! Okay, will get off here and read some more then.

Songs of the night:
Aannnd because Amy Lee is awesome I'll hit you with two of my favorites. Not as dance-y as the past couple of days but still good songs.

"Call Me When You're Sober" Evanescence

love the red and black theme throughout, totally cool.

"Broken" Seether feat. Amy Lee

kind of a cool video, kind of how I picture Max Ride... if you've read the book that'll make sense.

Starving. still haven't really eaten anything today. Eat first read after.
OUT!

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Mambo #5.

Today's Highlights:
- Beat the first section of Angry Birds - Poached Eggs - and opened the rest of the levels aka Mighty Hoax, Danger Above, The Big Setup and Ham 'Em High. Totally stoked.
- Talked about Wicked with Superwoman, we were quoting it up. "Not everyone can come and go by bubble!"
- Actually heard Wordie trying to get my attention this time so now he can't make fun of me being completely unaware of my surroundings when my headphones are in.
- Came home to a clean apartment. Enough said.
- Mom showed up at the library - no cookies this time, sad day - to bring me apples and Saltdogs tickets from Oldest Sister. The tickets were from O.S. not the apples. I hooked her up with some audio books, she was excited.
- Got my scores back from my booktalk and totally rocked it! First up Rock the Booktalk, Next stop World Domination! *insert evil laugh here* 40/40, not bad for putting it together the night before while typing on here and trying to stay awake. But that's when all my inspiration strikes, for some odd reason. Like last night I was up writing until 2.
That's how camp works actually. I can plan all I want all summer long for skits and stuff, like ohh, this one would be cool. But I don't get my final numbers for the kids until like the day before. And even then things are up in the air. I use that as an excuse for procrastination and usually end up writing my skits at about 3AM Thursday night. Camp starts on Friday. But the skits usually turn out to rock the house. Killer Eggs was a big hit, I think I wrote that one about 3AM with my awesome bandmate Delayed...Reaction co-star. (check the videos to the right). The Charles Nelson Reilly to my Brett Somers. He keeps me sane. And he's gonna have to keep me extra sane this year as my partner in crime is ditching me with all the kids to go to some political blah whatever. Obi-wan. Man. Totally not cool. We were the 5-headed monster! Now it's just gonna be me and the tri-director squad. Hopefully he'll be able to make it for teen camp.
Even my mentor is only gonna be there for part of it. I can't do skits and worship without her!
Plus Amos is gone as she is pregnant and probably wouldn't like all the heat and all that. And she's been going as long as I've been going. 2nd grade 'til college graduate is a long time. Freakin' lifers. This year is gonna be interesting.
I refuse to take the torch from my mentor. There's no way I could take over the whole thing.
- Ultimate highlight: Cool Aunt called and we're going to the opening game of the College World Series Saturday!! Woohoo! Vanderbilt vs. North Carolina. I'll have to do some research before I pick a team but I'm guessing NC for this one at least. We went 2 years ago and I was all about LSU - they totally dominated. Year before that I lived with Grams and we went for Fresno State since they were the underdogs. They also dominated. Unfortunately, last year South Carolina beat my UCLA. Will have to see how the teams line up before I pick my final.
It's always fun to go to games with the Cool Aunt. Huskers games to cheer for Helu and Suh, CWS of awesomeness - except when we went it rained hardcore, haha. I think the only game we've went to that had decent weather was like...never. We've frozen at a Husker game, we got soaked at a CWS game, Oh! Kansas vs. Huskers in Kansas a couple years ago was only slightly cold. I pulled it off with a hoodie, so I guess you could call that nice weather. Anyway, it's about time we get some good weather karma. Now watch, me saying that is gonna screw us over.

Change of subject.

Songs for the night:

Gotta give a shout-out to the QofA and her cute little girl who had a dance party to yesterday's music. Here's some other fun ones to jam out to.

1999 Flashbacks

"Livin La Vida Loca" Ricky Martin

diggin' it. that's a totally stylish plastic coat at 2:38. I'm sure they were all the rage. especially for people who dance around in the rain of a fire hydrant.

"Mambo Number 5" Lou Bega

used to dance to this song all the time with my cousins. and those rope light necklaces at 0:52 would totally go well with the plastic jacket from the last video.

styling, i'm telling ya.

Posting early so I can write some more tonight and go to bed at a decent hour this time. Although there are no guarantees there. Tomorrow's split shift so I'll do some homework then. I'm almost halfway thru book #11, I'll finish that one up and get started on #12.

OUT!

Sunday, June 12, 2011

Watch me now, hey!

I was actually productive today, shocker! I know! I cleaned my apartment! But then after I got through with all the vacuuming I felt like I was gonna pass out so I quit and watched Big Bang Theory for a while.
Why do I always get sick when I have the day off? Fever and all. But it's gone now. I woke up with a headache which is why I went back to sleep but I didn't think much of it until I felt light-headed and all that joy. I'm fine now so tomorrow will be fine.

But, aside from cleaning and watching half a season of BBT, I also started book #11. geez, 11. And started both of the wikis for both of the books this week. So, tomorrow I think I'm gonna keep reading, not sure how much I'll get done since I think Mom will be in town. Except I'm working so I don't know if I will see her. Tuesday will be my major workday as always since I have the whole afternoon to read and write up my paper. I already went to the teen activity I just have to give the highlights version in a 2 page paper. At least I think it's 2 pages. I can ramble for a couple pages about kids duct-taping stuff. Sensei told me once that she wouldn't respect me if I couldn't ramble for at least a page. I laughed. Think I've got the rambling thing down, scroll through the blog and you'll see that plain as day.

I bought a bunch of stuff on itunes on Ziva this week and haven't had time to load it on my (yet-to-be-named) ipod 'til I had all this free time today and now the freaking John Deere Green song is stuck in my head again! It just got out of my head! I finally stopped singing it at work! Now I had to go and listen to it again! AHH! "and the whole town said the fool should've used red but it looked good to Charlene......in John Deere Green!!!" but the funniest thing about this whole thing was I wasn't really paying attention to the album covers when I bought it and now I've got this big picture of his face staring at me every time I listen to the song and, here - I'll find a pic.

maybe i'm still like sick and need sleep but i laugh every time i see that pic. awesome fashion sense there.

Okay, gotta listen to something else so it goes away.

songs for the night:

"Do You Love Me" The Contours live and lipsyncing!

Check out Dennis Edwards dancing in the background (later frontman for the Temptations) plus the ensemble isn't the same without those matching white shoes, fancy stuff man.

SIDENOTE - gonna have to get a pair of white shoes to wear around camp at night... long story short, my predecessor who used to roam the camp at night (making sure everyone went to bed) wore a black outfit and white shoes. I always asked why the white shoes and he said he had to give the kids some chance to tell he was coming. He's been doing that since as long as I can remember and I've been going since 2nd grade but he's only doing the boys side this year soo guess who gets to roam the girls side and be the mean one everyone just loves to see coming. Pretty sure they feel that way about me already anyway so whatever. i'm just so excited. can't you tell how excited i am? BUT! that means he can't yell at me for being up! so take that! Technically, I'm the boss of him anyway. Technically, I have been for a couple years now. So, Technically he...whatever, next song rec.

"I Like It" Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull - Jersey Shore Edition

okay so I don't listen to the radio and therefore haven't heard the entire song before yesterday - it helps me to escape bieber fever, rebecca black and mylie? miley? yeah miley cyrus and all them.
ANYWAY, totally love this song. I'm jamming, seriously. especially 2:44-2:58 high voice enrique, reminds me of "you can ru-uu-un" from "escape" back in the day. used to sing that with nic all the time. still do every once in a while.

You don't know me, You don't even care.

I should have done extemp in high school. Totally pulled off the booktalk thing, made everybody laugh, now I can breathe easily. Well, for the rest of the night anyway, just one more week and then I'm done with homework until August! And, technically, since we don't have to show up on Saturday if I get my homework done - aka read 2 books, make wikis for them and write a paper on the teen event I went to - tomorrow then I will be done tomorrow. With the class. And homework. Until August. How's that for motivation?

Today was fun, tiring but fun. First was class - gave my booktalk, shared my news broadcast with a small group, listened to a dude ramble longer than I do about young adult books - he was amusing and swore a lot so I can see why young adults like him. After all that was more Graduate Assistant Training is what I'm going to call it as she put me in charge of evalutations and all that again. Already bringing her coffee and collecting papers, what happens when it's official? Ha!

After the joy that was class (cause I like class so it's a joy) I headed back to my apartment to change and eat lunch/watch an episode of Covert Affairs even though I have DVDs out that are due soon, then went to the bridal shower/bachelorette party for my college roommate. Pampered Chef party, as I don't cook I got stuff for my mom. Cause I'm a nice daughter like that. But also because I don't cook. That was in the church basement, we went over to her house for the party - they had some awesome bedazzling of shirts and games and food and drinking. Fun times were had. I love her sisters. They're hysterical and it's so funny because they all look so much alike and their voices are similar so that I have to pause before saying something so I know I'm talking to the right one. Realized tonight that I can't call her by her last name anymore - which is what I've done since high school basically, we've been friends for....oh man headmath on the fly August of 02 and it's June of 11 so almost 9 years. Geez. She will soon have a different last name. And it's not as catchy as her current one. Although, I still call the second half of Amber Squared by her last name and she got married...hmm... will have to work on that one as well.

So, tomorrow is going to go one of two ways, either I sleep in and watch the DVDs I have checked out on my account and I'm totally lazy. Orrrrr I get started on my homework, read at least half of one of the books and sort through all the camp applications I've gotten the past few weeks. My bet is on the former, but we'll see how it goes.

One of the books I have to read is on the Salem Witch Trials so I'm stoked about that as I've done a lot of research on it. Charmed has made me a Salem buff, the Mummy got me hooked on Ancient Egypt, listening to Percy Jackson brought back all these memories of Sophomore English on Mythology...I like history, but it has to be tied to something I care about or I forget about it. Does that make sense? It probably doesn't make sense. If I have a distinct memory linked to something I learned in school it helps me to remember what I learned. I'm not explaining this well. I think I just need to go to bed before I murder the explanation any more.
Okay, like, the Civil War, that was big, right? Yeah, no recollection of what year it took place or the generals names or whatever because, as I'm sure I've learned about it at some point in my life, I have no memory to link it with. I think that's why teachers make us do projects and presentations. Ohhhh, now school totally makes sense! joking. But it's true, if it's tied to our lives we'll have a better chance of remembering it for life. Or at least until the test.
Sorry, I get rambly when I'm sleepy. Ignore that paragraph. I'm gonna turn on something and konk out.
OUT!

woops, lied, song for the night:
"Boston" Augustana

give this one a chance. the piano is excellent, wish I could play it. love this song, but honestly laugh at the refrain because I just hear Leonard singing it on Big Bang Theory -

here:

yes those are cat toys.

But it was a cool video. There should be a tagline: this many pianos were ruined on the beach during filming.

now i'm out.

Impromptu speech-writing

I am brilliant. Genius. So genius that I wrote an entire booktalk today - planned everything out, drafted it, finalized it and completely forgot that I lent my copy of the book to a friend. And now, as I need a physical copy of the book for the booktalk, I'm screwed.
So, I'm going to write a new booktalk on the spot.
Right now.
Three minute speech.
Not a big deal, right?

Okay, to start pick a book...hmmm... well I was going to use Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly, and as much as I freaking love that book and could probably talk about it for more than three minutes, I really hated that booktalk. Like hated it with a passion. I spent all day on it reading it over now I still hate it. But I hate all my writings. Ask Sketch, it drives her bananas. But I can't help that they're crap. I try, but it's all crap. This blog is mostly crap. Yet you still read it, hmmm...

That's another thing with me, I get sidetracked and go off on tangents. So, no more tangents, only booktalks.

So, picking a book...hmm... which book has affected me the most during the semester other than the earth-shattering Revolution? easy answer. Zombies vs. Unicorns. Yes! I should totally do my booktalk on Zombies vs. Unicorns. I've probably talked more about that book with people than I have with Revolution anyway. And I know that I've rambled about it more on here! But that can easily be blamed on cough medicine. Go here: My Life in Closed Captions: sickness, bee stings, greek mythology, zombies, un...

Okay, so book is picked. Zombies vs. Unicorns by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier. Crap, should learn how to pronounce that for the talk tomorrow. Will look up pronunciation on google later. Focus now.

Okay...soo...introduction...hmm.... OH!

There have been many great debates over the years. Obama vs. McCain, Chuck Norris vs. Chuck Norris, Edward vs. Jacob, but the one debate I want you to focus on today is the debate of all debates, the quandary of all quandaries...is it quandarys or quandaries? doesn't matter this'll be verbal Zombies vs. Unicorns.

Okay, that was crap but I'm going with it anyway sooo...exposition!

This novel is a collection of stories about zombies and unicorns. Each has chosen a side - except for one who tried to do a crossover and failed epically probably shouldn't say that okay scratch that going back
Each has chosen a side, Team Zombie or Team Unicorn. Team Zombie is led by Justine Larbalestier, she says that Zombies are a walking entropy. They are the dissolute wreck of consumerism. They are the eventual death that faces us all. They are a metaphor for slavery, conformity, and oblivion. What are unicorns? Fluffy, monochrome, sticky tedium. There's no way I'm going to remember all that.
Okay cut it short,
Team Zombie is led by Justine Larbalestier, she says Zombies are a metaphor for slavery, conformity and oblivion. And what are unicorns? Fluffy, monochrome, sticky tedium.
Team Unicorn is led by Holly Black who says Seriously? You don't like unicorns? What kind of person doesn't like unicorns? Zombies shamble. I disapprove of shambling. And they have bits that fall off. You never see a unicorn behaving that way.
There's no way I'm going to remember that either. We'll come back to that part later.

The book goes back and forth with a story about a zombie followed by a story about a unicorn, lather rinse repeat. Yeah, shouldn't use that either. especially in the context of unicorns and zombies, that's creepy. moving on.

Many aspects of Zombies are covered, their love of brains, their strong devotion or hatred for their loved ones, their ability to travel in packs and stare at you, their cold hands, and their undead-ness. There's even stories about zombie children!

EDIT - insert Zombie quote from book

And the same with Unicorns, their ability to heal, their draw to virgins, their desire to help baby unicorns, their devotion to their owners, and you know that big spike thing on their foreheads. There are even stories about the depression that can go along with eternal life and the violence of becoming a killer unicorn. Surprisingly, some of the unicorn stories are even more violent than the zombie ones! Some stories are serious and some are parodies. This is more of a parody.

EDIT - insert unicorn quote

You're getting sleepy, very sleeeeeeeepy....10:56, keep going!
okay, find quotes.

....
...
......
...
....

got them! but i'm totally not typing them on here as they are super long. okay, added EDIT's where quotes go.

Now what? Oh, should probably do some sort of conclusion since after including quotes it'll be at least 3 minutes. woops. i'm gonna have to read and record it.

okay outro...is that a word? it's late, i'm tired. i'm going with it. outro:

So, now it's up to you. Which team will you join? Team Zombie or Team Unicorn? Read Zombies vs. Unicorns and maybe it will help you decide.
okay, that's a dumb last line.
Read Zombies vs. Unicorns and make your choice....??? that's dumb too.

Maybe....

So, now it's up to you. Do you like brains? Would you like healing powers? Read Zombies vs. Unicorns by Justine Larbalestier and Holly Black and pick your side, Team Zombie or Team Unicorn.

that was dumb too. okay, gotta find recording device. is around here somewhere.

done! am out. can fix more tomorrow on ride to class.

Wickham, you mischievous man, You plotted a mischievous plan...

Okay, so for class we have to do 2 activities to go along with one of our books and she gave us a list to choose from. I'm thinking poetry. We could write a poem about a character. But see, my poetry always has to rhyme. If it doesn't then even I don't understand it. And people try to interpret it - even the greatest poets say they just write stuff down to mess with people, it's a proven fact - anyway, it has to rhyme or I hate it. Most of the time I still hate it even if it does rhyme...

Anyway, my point is that I started drafting and all the sudden one of my college portfolios came flying back at me. It was basically the final project to end all projects. My senior year finale as it were. For British Lit 2, we had to do a portfolio on someone or something from that era so I chose to do mine on Jane Austen and in particular Pride and Prejudice. It was sweet, I made musical playlists, I made a boardgame - i'll upload a picture later - I rewrote a bunch of scenes and modernized them, I did a reader's digest condensed version..which by the time I finished it didn't seem as condensed as I planned.

But, one of the other things I did was write poetry about all the main characters. So, of course, for inspiration...and procrastination...I went back and found it buried in my college files. There are so many freaking folders on this computer, it's a mess. One of these days...you know when I'm actually free and have time...totally have to sort through it all. Cause I just uploaded everything from Kate and put it on the external drive then transferred it to Ziva but not like all at once, there were individual loads that were, whatever. My point is my harddrive is a mess and I need to sort it.

Long story short - too late - I found the freaking poetry and am going to post it because I find it amusing...well, some of them amusing. And if you haven't read the book then you probably won't understand - well, maybe if you've seen the movie but probably not - but give it a chance anyway.

Poems directed to the characters of Pride and Prejudice

To Mr. Darcy who seemed such an ass,
Only talking to you if you were of class.
You started off mean
Then turned, as it seems,
To all my expectations surpass.

To Miss Elizabeth Bennet,
Whose family started out in debt.
You fell in love with a jerk,
Which turned out to work,
And Mr. Collins you could forget.

Here’s to Bingley and Jane,
Who seem the only ones sane.
It starts with a dance,
Then just by chance,
Ends with love you can’t contain.

To the crazy mother,
One not easily mistaken for another,
With your mind on the money
Pull it together honey,
Darcy does not have a brother.

For Mr. Bennet the sage,
Who doesn’t attribute knowledge with age,
You think you know all,
‘Til in love with Darcy she falls,
Now he’s asking her hand to engage.

Lydia, what the hell were you thinking?
People will think you’ve been drinking.
You fell in love with a liar,
Who will light you on fire,
And find another lady who’s winking.

Lady Catherine you are such a witch,
Your master plan you did hitch.
You show up and yell,
And Elizabeth you tell,
Saying she’ll never be rich.

Wickham you mischievous man,
You plotted a mischievous plan.
But Lydia is over your head,
Soon you’ll wish you were dead,
Move on to the neighbor Joanne.

Mr. Collins you did propose,
With all of your ribbons and bows.
She said no,
Even though you have dough,
So then the neighbor you chose.

Charlotte you poor little thing,
To Collins you did cling.
You married a preacher,
Whose best feature
Is a sermon that lasts until spring.

Miss Bingley you’re a horrible girl,
Your hair on your fingers you twirl,
You lost him to her,
And now as it were,
Their lives you must watch unfurl.

I mostly enjoy the mother's and Lydia's and Wickham's. aww, memories. I should seriously upload a picture of that boardgame. It was the bomb-diggity, not really, but I thought it was sweet. I think that was my favorite assignment all through college - aside from basically everything we did in Fiction Writing class. I'm a bit of a nerd for writing, if you didn't figure that out already.

Okay, so aside from all that, I did write and post the final version of my teen interview paper, and I finished both books so all that's left is the wiki pages and the activities which I will finish tomorrow - I started on them I just need to finish them. Then, print everything off, pack it in my bag and I'll be ready for class on Saturday. Oh, and figure out my booktalk. I'm using "Revolution" by Jennifer Donnelly because I swear that book is earth-shattering, mind-changing, messes-with-your-brain-and-changes-your-view-on-life-for-the-duration-of-you-reading-it...then it's over and you're like, well crap. I probably shouldn't say that in my book talk. Just a thought. I'll work on that tomorrow when I'm shelving. I get a lot of ideas when I'm shelving. Then of course I forget them when I move to the other library, but still!...will have to write them on arm so I won't forget. Or the quote notebook in my back pocket. That would probably be smarter.

"Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not" Thompson Square

good melody and lyrics

"I am happier even than Jane; she only smiles, I laugh."

out.

Oh, just wear the frock, it's pretty!

Went to see Wicked in Omaha. It was fantastic. Here are my highlights:

Elphaba: I mean, who steals a dead women's shoes? She must've been raised in a barn!
Elphaba: What could he give me, I clash with everything!
Elphaba: Well, we can't all come and go by bubble!
Elphaba: I'm beautifully tragic. *after sister is referred to as tragically beautiful*
Glinda: It seems the artichoke is steamed!
Glinda: I'm Glinda! The ga is silent.
Glinda: You are out of control! I mean, they're just shoes, let it go!
Glinda: *fails to turn Elphaba's dress into a ball gown with her wand* Hello? Is this thing on!
Guard: The goat is on the lamb!

Both: There's been some confusion, for you see, my roommate is...
Glinda: unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
Elphaba:...BLONDE.
had to look that last one up, couldn't think of what Glinda said. But the Blonde part, I totally died. She like looked at the audience and paused...fantastic.

And the chick who played Glinda sounded exactly like Kristin Chenoweth, seriously. Impersonation was dead on.

Quotes of the day/night:
Chick from class: I drove by and was like huh? Then the guy driving behind me was like huh?
-this kid was walking barefoot on the sidewalk but had her shoes in her hand.

Second Sister: How do you know that song?
Me: How do you not?
-about defying gravity, how do you not know that song?

Second Sister: You're not a typical woman.
-I think my response was um ouch, thanks. not sure if I should be offended or proud. Apparently I'm a lot like my brother. Which is fine with me as he is pretty awesome.

anyway, should head to bed soon. gonna finish my book and crash. the teen program today was pretty fun, we watched a bunch of kids make stuff out of duct tape. like flip flops and wallets and stuff. they had some awesome colors there, leopard print and flames and stuff. they never had that cool of duct tape when i was a kid!

song for the night: Defying Gravity

the original of awesomeness, idina and kristin as it should be

glee version with random clips, gotta love it

Since you've been gone my world's been dark and gray...

Gonna keep this short so I stay motivated to read tonight.

Shelved the day away, literally. The other aide is on vacation so I've basically been playing catch up nonstop. Which is fine actually because usually I shelve everything and there's nothing left but shelf-reading.
Anyway, did the morning shift then came back and finished book #9, huzzah! Will work some more on book #10 tonight then hopefully get that finished tomorrow. Then tonight I went in for an extra hour and it was the end of an era! No more night shifts with Joe Studley. It was a sad sad day. Next Tuesday I'm with Space Cadet for our second round until August. But we have a lot of fun so I'm excited.

Quote of the day:
-Anonymous Library User: "I do it for myself, not for anyone else!" about riding a bike without a shirt. I about died on the spot. But I think that's one of those tone of voice have to be there kinda moments. Still funny.

Songs of the night:

"White Liar" Miranda Lambert
I actually like her quite a lot. She has some excellent lyrics and catchy melodies plus she's not a completely unlikeable snot. Bonus points! This one is often in my head... I enjoy 3:10. There's actually a backstory to this video's casting, you can find the behind-the-scenes stuff here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6S3pOaa1hMQ

"Picture" Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow

"I was headed to church..." "I was off to drink you away..."
love love love this song. and i'm a fan of both artists so it's like win win. plus the video's pretty cool in that behind-the-scenes kind of way.
She actually wrote a book and we have it, it's called "If it makes you healthy" which makes me laugh as it is a play on words to her song "If it makes you happy."

okay, gotta read some more so I can go see Wicked tomorrow without stress.

Another Day, Another Margarita...

Another fun motto for life brought forth by my sister. Pretty sure my cool aunt would agree. Especially if it was a jalapeno margarita. But tonight's was excellent. Supurb even. So good it was gone in like 5 minutes, not even. Or maybe it was just that hot out.
Oldest Sister and me hit up a Saltdogs game tonight, our Dogs pulled it off 5-4 with the final catch made by the right fielder stretching over the foul line. It was sweet. And an excellent game. There was much dancing. Because you can't disrespect the dance. 97 degrees but it wasn't so bad with the breeze and we were sitting in the shade.

Today was very busy. LA2 from 9-11, Aide from 11-12, 12-1 lunch, 1-3 LA2 at other branch, then back at the apartment for homework, Joe's football camp, Saltdogs game and now I'm finally done and seriously ready to crash.
You know how, when you're in the sun for a while, you get those headaches but you don't realize it until you're back out of the sun? Then it hits you with blinding pain? That's me.

Sad fact #1: My Victoria voice is gone. I had her down pact! when I had a cold, but now that I'm back to normal - well, my voice anyway - it's not even close. I feel like Phoebe with her sexy phlegm.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-mYkJIcn8c
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTIqBWMPNmE
check these, seriously, down pact.

Music Recs:

"Ready To Go" Republica

"from the rooftops, shout it out."
was totally jamming at the game tonight because I haven't heard this song in so long that I had completely forgotten about it.

"Moneygrabber" Fitz and the Tantrums

another Sister Rec, very cool video

alright split shift tomorrow plus have to do a lot of homework. sleeping next. out.

*Spoiler Alert*

Okay, enough time has elapsed at this point to where, I think I can talk about this stuff. If you haven't seen the finales at this point either you don't watch the show or you just don't care how the season ended. So, this post will most likely be filled with spoilers to various tv show finales. Aka NCIS, Bones, Castle and Criminal Minds. So, if you haven't seen the finales and plan on watching them online or something you should skip this post. Or at least skip to the bottom.

What was it, the year of death?! Dude! Even on Glee! I'm wondering if the different networks have some sort of meeting and decide on a theme. Like, let's make everyone happy this year and unite the love interests or let's kill someone off that everybody loves so they tune in next year just to see how we can screw up next!

NCIS - Okay, so you knew it was going to be a big episode after the mystery eye opened MTAC. Seriously. But did they have to kill off Mike Franks?! I totally cried. I like him. Couldn't they have killed Trent Kort instead? As sad as it was the funeral scene was still pretty cool with Gibbs and all the Navy stuff. Speculation for next season: Tony investigating Gibbs. Cause, I mean, who else is he going to investigate? They've already done enough to Ziva, Tim doesn't really have a secret past and with Gibbs there's endless material. Plus he's having that sort-of feud with Vance lately. He's suspicious of his past or something, there's gotta be some kind of retaliation. Right?

Bones - Um, can I just say FINALLY! Emily Deschanel is actually pregnant so we knew somehow that had to come into play. I didn't think this would be the kind of show to hide her behind lab tables, although there would be plenty. Oh my god, could you imagine having pregnancy hormones and morning sickness on that set? There's a disgusting and decomposing dead body in every episode! (Well, minus the live victim from this season) I'm sad they didn't give us more details about Booth and Bones.
Speculation: Is Angela going to start bringing her baby to work or is there going to be some sort of daycare center at the lab? Next year's gonna be awesome. let's leave it at that.

Castle - Big episode! and finally for Castle and Beckett too! even though she's like dying and all that. But they can't kill her off because then they wouldn't have a show.
Speculation: When they told us someone was going to die this season I immediately jumped to Montgomery. The captain is always the one that gets killed off or leaves. And, because Hollywood is cliche, I'm sure he'll be replaced by a strong female character that Kate hates. Bones, Saving Grace, and NCIS all did it already.
-Bones had Cam, who thankfully turned out to be awesome. She replaced Dr. Goodman who I still refer to as "Ed" no matter what he's in because he played Claire's husband Ed in Women's Murder Club. Just like Claire will always be Claire even though she plays Vance's wife on NCIS and a victim's wife on Bones and a cop on Criminal Minds and the chick in the census commercials, yeah, yeah, I know, Move On, I've heard it all.
-Anyway, then there was Lt. Kate Perry on Saving Grace who took over when their old captain got shot in the head in the squadroom only a couple episodes in. The squad of course loved their old captain but Grace had a history with Kate so they got along fine.
-NCIS had Jenny Shepherd ascend to the director spot after the first/second season's dude, who we saw in maybe 10 episodes out of the 2 seasons he was supposed to be the director, retired. That was controversy even though she was pretty kickass.
-Even with The Closer Brenda Leigh was parachuted over all their heads and they hated her. We loved her but they hated her. Now they love her too. Soon she'll be leaving and replaced by someone else as well in the spinoff. And that's gotta be a female lead as well since it's got soooo many male cast members, unless they're leaving too. There's gonna be a lot of pressure for that spinoff since the Closer is so popular. Few spinoffs are as good as the originals. Law and Order SVU is better than the original, but that's just my opinion. And Sketch's. Plus technically, NCIS was introduced through an episode of Jag so I guess you could call that a spinoff. Oh, and what was with that Finder episode of Bones? Totally and completely random. Is that going to be a spinoff as well? They've got the big actors for it so I wouldn't be surprised.

Criminal Minds - Okay, I couldn't resist. Technically this is a spoiler for next season instead of the finale as I didn't watch anything from this season. With good reason. You take away the good main characters to fund a crappy spinoff that was going to fail anyway and the fans protest. And it works!
GUESS WHO'S BACK!

TAKE THAT, CREATIVE REASONS! AJ/JJ and Paget/Prentiss back on CM, Awesomeness! Now I can start watching again. Totally stoked. Now all we need is a new contract for Thomas and we're golden. He's the only one who isn't officially signed on my next season.
Speculation: Gotta kill off Doyle to get Prentiss back. He's the reason they faked her death and she went underground. Only JJ and Hotch know - although, they're a group of profilers so I wouldn't be surprised if some of them don't already know as well. And if they didn't...then they're probably just going to be pissed they weren't told. Morgan especially.
yeah yeah, i didn't watch the show but i read up on it as the season went on, had to know what was going on with the characters i still liked. temporarily felt sad for the temp actress when i read her twitter but i'm past that. AJ/JJ and Paget/Prentiss returning trump any bad emotion left behind from last season.

Felt I should do this now as I haven't really posted posted in a while. Minus the cough medicine night it's mostly just been the highlights and then I'm going to bed now because I have to work and do more homework. Which will pretty much sum up my upcoming week as well. Monday is work then Saltdogs game, huzzah! Tuesday is work then homework then more work, Wednesday is work then teen program for class then WICKED! HUZZAH to that! gonna have to brush up on my wizard of oz beforehand. Thursday is work plus homework and Friday is work plus homework plus finalized posting of all homework. Then Saturday is the last class we have to show up for. Next week we're just posting stuff online by Saturday. I think. Will have to look into that.

Music Rec for the night:

You can't really top last night's, they're actually a really good band. I was impressed by them earlier and again last night. They did Raise Your Glass since her voice was back I was stoked.

"She's got the rhythm, and I got the blues" - Alan Jackson

I've been a fan of Alan Jackson since I was a kid and I still totally jam out when they come up on my ipod. This is one of my favorites. Although, in the video, I'm thinking her dance moves say a lot more than "I'm over you" ...haha. *insert joke about exotic dancers next door* SEE! That still works....even though I don't actually have exotic dancers living next door. At least I think I don't. But I don't really know my neighbors. Hmmm...

And here's an extra Video Rec for you tonight.
Glee interview outtakes "Say what?!"

must watch at least chord's president bush impersonation. duuuude. plus the on set dancing.
