Got to sleep in today. Think I got up around noon.
Though "got up" is more like rolled over and turned on Game of Thrones.
On disc four now.
I can't decide if I like it or not.
I mean, the first episode was okay. But then the next few were like, eh.
But now it's back to being okay.
I think.
I don't know, I'm mostly watching it cause everyone else says it's good.
Well, "everyone" meaning people I actually listen to about these things.
So I feel like I should keep watching and give it a chance.
Oh well, if it sucks I still got my popsicles.
The joy of library DVD's. See, I used to buy stuff like this and if it sucked then I was stuck with it.
Though I don't remember that happening - oh no wait,
My Super Ex Girlfriend.
That one was awful.
Anyway, the joys of library stuff is that you can return it.
Well you have to return it, not can.
Though for some people that decide they'd rather rack up $3000 worth of fines it's more of a can.
I was semi-productive today.
Got to play hero to a damsel in distress.
aka Queen of Awesome when her car wouldn't start.
Picked her up and drove her home.
Got 2 points from Superwoman for the whole adventure.
Which gives me more points now than my mother.
She got 150 for sending an email with an attachment.
After I taught her.
Though Space Cadet is still ahead of me by like 23.
She got 150 for sending an email with an attachment - after I taught her how to do it - and then got 25 for something else.
But it's on.
As is Game of Thrones and I'm totally lost so I think I need to rewind a bit.
Oh and I paid rent.
So I'm calling it a productive day.
On to the music - more of 2012's greatest hits
Settle Down - No Doubt
missed these guys.
She's So Mean - Matchbox Twenty
do drums sound the same when they're on fire?
One More Night - Maroon 5
adam the boxer.
huh.
gonna be hosting SNL in a few weeks, will have to actually tape that one.
legitimate pre-midnight post. holy crap tag in use.
I could write a blog. I have thoughts.
Life at the library, adventures with friends and other hysterics...

"What are you going to type into Google, 'what's a smart-sounding word for nose hair?'"
So, I probably should have stayed late at work tonight to help out with the exhibition. Especially since I trained half the staff on the book. And can spout it front to back. Which is why it drives me nuts that the artwork on the displays is out of order, but that's another story.
But I came home instead because I have class tomorrow and I needed to finish up some homework before I crash and burn EARLY.
Cause I leave the apartment at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Which bites the big one, but it'll be okay. I think I'm eating with Smo after class and then there's the game.
Get to scream loud at the TV.
I hope they will be good screams, but you never know about underdogs.
Anyway, it's my last official Info Tech class tomorrow cause we're not meeting in December. And my teacher won't be there so we have a sub, bummer. But I still gotta be there early all coherent or fake coherent anyway.
Can you fake coherency?
I feel like I do that all the time.
Anyway, so yesterday sucked. Hence the no post. I've found it's better not to post if you have no positive things to talk about. And I really didn't.
Except the phone conversation I had with Sketch as we, well she, watched the CMA awards. I was mostly cleaning, doing laundry, making supper, doing homework, etc but it was on in the background.
Sketch is like country to the bone.
If that was a thing.
So she knows all the singers and the songs and all that. And usually I'm pretty good about this stuff but apparently I'm super behind on new country artists. Even after the conversation I was texting her, "who's that dude? is he really this bad or just live?"
He's knew I'm sure he'll get better.
But I love Blake and Miranda so I was excited that they won.
"and reba, cause she's sitting there looking at me..."
I was surprised that Taylor didn't win for the third year especially since RED is so huge and all that. Next year.
I was amused that it was her and like 5 dudes up as nominees. She rocks it.
Sketch is not a fan.
So I texted her when she got a standing ovation after her performance.
She was not amused.
Anyway, so that was really all from yesterday that I'm going to repeat. Today was much better.
Remember the artwork project thing that I had with my teens a couple weeks ago where we made posters and bookmarks and all that?
Today I had the pleasure of laminating - well, watching as Kathy laminated - all of the bookmarks and then got to cut each of them out - that was all me.
And there were like 50 so that was fun.
But the kids are excited about them and they all want their own so I had to make copies and whatever. Anyway, on one of them is this list of smart sounding words.
Which is really my fault cause there are four on a sheet and I'm not artistic - ask Sketch - so I was like, "what are some smart sounding words?" and they yelled a bunch out.
I gotta say, those teens make me look like an idiot.
And it's not just me.
I showed the bookmarks to a few of my bosses, they totally had to get on Google to figure out what half of the words meant.
One supervisor in particular *cough*Superwoman*cough* was dead set that this one word meant nose hair but it was actually like the smell of rain on the ground or I don't remember, something about rain. I'll look it up later.
But she thought it meant nose hair so that meant that there must be a similar word in existence that meant nose hair so she got on Google and I was like, "what are you going to type into Google? 'what's a smart sounding word for nose hair?!'"
Anyway, they attempted to guess the other words and were way off as well.
I mean, we got pantophobia from Charlie Brown, but the rest of them were like, um, maybe I should have looked these up before writing and then laminating them.
Didn't want to put anything inappropriate out there.
Not that they would cause they're good teens.
So that was amusing.
And really that was the highlight of the day, aside getting a comic from the Library Judge - formerly known as John Boy - because he creates them, every 20 years or so, and got them in the mail today. So I bought one cause he gave me the first one for free last year.
Gave him a dollar donation for his cause.
So that was my day in a nutshell.
Well, that and 9 hours of public service work.
But tomorrow I'm off - for class so it's not really off - and then Sunday I'm off - for class so it's not really off - so I'm not officially back at work until Monday morning so I had to send out all my email reminders before I left.
Got a TAB meeting next week and a bunch of new volunteers coming in for training. Should be interesting.
Alright, I'm out early.
Yes, it is actually pre-10:30 and a holy crap tag will be used. But did I mention I have to leave my apartment at 6:30 tomorrow?
For some of you readers I'm sure you think that 6:30 is sleeping in but let me tell you, 6:30? Definitely not sleeping in.
To me at least.
That's like super early and I need like 5 gallons of coffee to keep both eyes awake on the interstate.
Which is weird, because the middle of the night I can drive anywhere perfectly awake. It's the mornings that suck.
Oh well, I've got Carrie Fisher.
Not like actual human, breathing Carrie Fisher, but audio Carrie Fisher.
Listening to Shockaholic. I figured I liked Wishful Drinking so I should give this one a shot.
She's highly entertaining.
Know what else is highly entertaining?
Sleep.
Which I will do soon after this post.
But first I gotta find some music.
Not sure what to post.
Ipod on shuffle..........drumroll

do people avoid him like a "cyclone ranger" or a "psyched lone ranger"?
this song reminds me of Charlie's Angels.
OH, apparently BossLady loves The Mummy.
sorry, two of my favorites. Apparently it was her go to sleep at night movie.
I told her it was mine as well.
My mother is still tired of it 10 years later and says, "again?" whenever she catches me watching it.
Sadly I can quote that back to front as well.
Along with its sequel.
Literally.
(but not the third cause it's awful and i refuse to watch it. i've seen it twice and that's enough. ask sketch about the voicemail i left her immediately following.)
Like, at one point in The Mummy Returns Rachel Weisz waves this torch back and forth so many times in a row cause she's exiting a dream sequence and I can do it with my hand in the same pattern and exact same times as she does it without even turning on the TV.
funny story?
.....
So can BossLady.
We totally did it at the desk today.
Did I mention my bosses are cooler than your bosses?
OH! and another thing, okay maybe this will be another fake 11:50 post, apparently one of our crazy patrons is actually a crazy psychokiller.
Which just makes our life that more exciting.
More on that later.
OH RIGHT! So, I finally am tied with my mother on the point system at 150. Superwoman gave Mom 150 points cause she sent an email with an attachment.
After I taught her how to do it.
Because she gave Space Cadet 150 points for doing it earlier.
After I taught HER how to do it.
I think she thinks that giving them points will motivate me to like do stuff to get points like be professional and all that.
Blah, what a mean boss. Making me actually earn something with work.
I need to shutup or I won't stop.
This is what happens when I skip a day.

It's not like you're bringing home a Subway.
Got to semi-sleep in this morning, then headed out to the awesomeness that is Donna's to get my hair chopped and dyed. For some reason I run into other people there as well, this morning it was Beth one of my camp lifeguards who I just happened to go to grade school with once upon a time. We talked camp stuff it was amusing. Then Donna regaled me with stories of animals, family and camping. The usual topics, she's always fun to jam with.
I think she secretly looks forward to me coming out just because of the wild hair colors I've had in the past.
It was probably around 6-7 inches that got whacked off. Feels a lot better and camp will be a lot cooler. And it's red. But not like red red like I used to, just dark red with blonde like last time.
I have to remain a professional. Well, paraprofessional. And people probably couldn't take me seriously with the fire engine red hair.
That and I don't think the boyfriend would approve. He immediately flashed back to high school when I told him I was getting it dyed. Nope, not that extreme.
Though Superwoman did give me points for it once upon a time when I was a temp.
I think I'm currently at 146 or maybe it's 146.5 I'll check the email tomorrow. Still behind both my mother and Space Cadet. And I'm sure once I get close they'll both do something good and will go up another 50.
But then what would I have to aim for really if I passed them.
Anyway, so yes it's dyed. My favorite I think of the dyeing it when I was a temp is that Boss's Boss's Boss went to introduce herself to me then realized she already knew me so like stopped mid-motion. Made my day.
After all that was done had to catch up on my Swamp People with dad as he had a bunch saved up for me. Watched the last two of the season so I'm good for a while. Then watched some Closer on Mom's DVR and took a nap. Mom was off in Iowa with the Cool Aunt. Going to movies and buying me shoes.
She sent me a picture before she bought them, they are pretty wicked sweet Nebraska-esque ones.
Which is good cause mine are falling apart. Not surprising as I drag my feet and they get pretty scuffed up. I go through them fairly quickly.
Shoes and headphones.
Which I broke today as well.
But I have spares so I'll pull those out when I leave tomorrow morning.
Songs of the night:
So if you're on Facebook you probably noticed these from yesterday but I figured I'd post them on here anyway.
The Brown Derbies. Acapella group from Brown University started like 30 years ago and gets new members every year.
These guys are fantastic you gotta watch these ones.
Rediscovery of the week so you'll probably see more of their videos throughout the week.
Though my favorite of their songs is the Friends theme remake these ones are right up there.
"Faith" - George Michael
love the second verse harmony
"Not Over You" - Gavin DeGraw
awesome

But I'm thinking it over anyway
Yes, I missed yesterday.
Fell asleep watching the game. Then street skateboarding.
I love my DVR.
Not much from today, full day at work but it was pretty slow. Even though there were a surprising amount of people there.
Yesterday was fun, had class in the morning then a camp meeting in the afternoon.
Long day, but worth it. Talked about the upcoming assignments a lot and got out early - we don't have class next week so they gave us time to work on assignments due in the next couple weeks. Only one more class left to actually attend, the rest is just homework posted online.
Camp meeting was basically just t-shirt stuff, worked on some songbook stuff, and finally have copies of it run off to send to people - liz finished what i've been putting off for months cause she's awesome like that - so I'll send those out this week, gotta get their addresses first.
And the usual joking around was included as well, t-shirt designs for our golf team included though homey-g-wigger was absent. She'll be around for our next meeting in a couple weeks when make final decisions, though I just got an email from Pastor with some design options.
What else from yesterday? Oh yeah, so how does one break into a safe?
That sounds bad.
I have this safe from college which I haven't opened since.
And I lost the keys so I want to get whatever it is out of the safe but can't get into without keys. So I'm thinking of taking it to the farm and having dad saw it open. That'll be an interesting adventure.
But as I'm not a criminal and don't know how to pick locks I'm thinking that is my only option.
Will photograph that adventure I'm sure.
Speaking of photographs, Superwoman included that freakin' bird photo in her weekly email to the staff and I got this email from my boss's boss's boss saying when she read "carrie's bird" she thought it was me flipping someone off.
I told her I appreciate her faith in my customer service, haha. But that Superwoman would most likely take points away for something like that.
And right now I'm at 145.5 and I'm kinda diggin' that score, even though I'm still being beaten by both Space Cadet and my mother, but those are longer stories which if you searched on here long enough you could probably find.
So that was yesterday, today was a full day at work, thought a lot about food drive logistics - more on that later - then came home to watch some CWS I had taped, so sad Stony Brook is toast. They were cool, got us on ESPN and everything with our shirts.
I like Stony Brook, they were the underdogs and their pitcher is highly amusing.
But they made it to Omaha and that's huge for an unknown, especially since they had the best record of the bunch. I think the jitters took them down, especially at the game we went to. Lots of errors.
Oh well, I'm all for SC now, they're gonna dominate, 3-PEAT!
Anyway, I'm off to bed. Exhausted and have to work all day tomorrow. Yeehaw?
